I love reading those forbidden romances and enjoyed this one so much. This is an updated version of Duty Bound - which I actually have never read so I can't tell you what is different about it. But I loved this one. Levi who has been in love with his best friends sister Harper forever (his dead best friend) and of course he feels like he is betraying his friend if he acts on his feelings and tries so hard to stay away but at the same time protect her from danger. Harper is such a strong willed independent women and is trying to find out more about her brothers death and of course danger awaits her but nothing will stop her from finding out except maybe her attraction to Levi. Temptation takes over and after constant bickering they finally get together. Levi tries to resist but its just a losing battle. Harper is feisty and stubborn and Levi is caring and very Alpha male and let me say it is fun listening to their banter and when they finally succumb to their feelings Holy smokes do they burn up the sheets. If you are interested in an entertaining story give this one a go.

Protecting His Best Friend's Sister is an angsty best friend’s sister romance mixed with a military theme. It’s an easy to read romantic suspense that has a mix of emotions from attraction, angst, drama, and love with a strong underlying sense of honour causing all sorts of mishaps as pasts are faced up to in this standalone read that sets up a new series.

Told from dual perspective, Levi and Harper have an attraction that has been simmering along for years, despite the distance between them. As these two fiery people find their lives entwining again, fireworks erupt in both good and bad ways between them as their love/hate relationship faces new challenges. If I’m one hundred per cent honest Levi and Harper, Harper more so, are sort of a little hit and miss at times with their stubborn attitudes being off-putting but that may just be me (obviously not enough to put me off or anything and you couldn’t deny the chemistry and growing attraction between them).

The book flowed well and was paced steadily but never dragged out. There was a clear solid plot and had a few surprising twists and turns. Whilst Harper and Levi’s story is summed up for a HEA, not all storylines appear to be fully finished, obviously for other books in this series. However, like I say, this can be read as a standalone for Levi and Harper.

Overall, Protecting His Best Friend's Sister is well written and will appeal to those who like a best friend’s sister romance mixed with a military suspenseful theme.

Protecting His Best Friend's Sister is re-release of Duty Bound, in which the authors have edited this book. This is the first book in The Protectors series and is about Harper and Levi. Levi was best friends with Harper's brother Gavin, who was recently killed in action. Harper and Levi reconnect after the funeral. Gavin has always had a crush on Harper, but did not act on it because of Gavin. Harper is now a reporter and has been investigating her brother's death. Someone is not pleased and she is soon put in danger. Levi has decided that he needs to protect Harper and it causes friction between the two. Protecting His Best Friend's Sister was an alright read for me. I loved Levi and adored him. He just wants to love and protect Harper. I had trouble connecting with Harper. Even though I admire strong-willed characters, there was something about her attitude and the way she treated Levi for half the story that I did not like. While Levi was acting protective and wanting to help Harper, she was rude and thought he was controlling, which I did not agree with. During this story we are introduced to Levi and Gavin's friends Sebastian, Declan, and Cole who all have their stories after this one. Although this book was not for me, I am looking forward to reading the rest in this series.

Levi has wanted Harper since he was 18 years old, but since she's his best friend's little sister, she's completely off limits. When he gets home after years in the Marines, she's all grown up now, and his feelings haven't abated at all, but she wants nothing to do with him. However, all bets are off since she's making someone mad with all of her questions about her brother's death, so now Levi has to try to protect her, although she's doing everything in her power to make him go away. This is the first book in the Protectors Series, and the fast paced & exciting story line kept my heart racing cover to cover. It doesn't happen to me very often, but the twists kept me guessing throughout, and I never saw the "who dun it coming." Levi is a drool worthy hero, while Harper was a great heroine, although at times, I wanted to shake her. Samantha Chase & Noelle Adams make a great writing team, as their talented writing styles meshed together perfectly. Yes, this story is full of suspense, but there are also perfectly placed humorous moments from the witty banter of the colorful secondaries. This is a great start to a new series, and I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

This beautifully written, captivating tale will have your emotions rolling all over, as Harper struggles to find answers while fighting her growing attraction and feelings for her dead brothers' best friend
Levi. After the accident that claimed his best friends' life after being sent home from active service in the Marines, Levi not only struggles to "find his place in life", but his forever growing and strengthening feelings for Harper, the forbidden fruit so to speak. He has loved her since he was eighteen, but when her older brother and his best friend, Gavin, forbid him to follow up on his feelings. But now Gavin is no longer, and it seems Harper is in danger, but she won't listen to his orders, or suggestions, being her own stubborn self. Will he be able to keep her safe? And will he ever be able to tell her just how he really feels about her? Will she ever give him a chance?
This book will keep you enthralled from page one to the end, and wanting much more from this author and this series. Loved it!

It was a great start to introduce us to The Protectors Series

Harper and Levi seem to have an instant love/hate relationship. Harper is extremely stubborn and try's to be strong. She hates Levi interfering in her life and treating her like a child.
Levi is trying to look out for his dead best friends sister. Being an ex-marine Levi is cool and intimidating while realising some of the best things in life come in small packages and that's definitely the case with Harper.
We are taken on a journey where Harper mourns the loss of her big brother and sets out on a mission to get answers about his death and doesn't seem to care about the possible danger she is in. Levi is battling his own demons over his best friends death and trying to keep Harper out of danger.
Favourite Quote from the book - "There were things that happened that you wish hadn't occurred. There were people you lost that you wish you'd been able to keep. That was life. Everything that was wrong in the world couldn't always be fixed. No use getting hung up on it".

Samantha Chase and Noelle Adams have come together once again to bring us an amazing book Full of Love and Second Chances with a great combination of sexual chemistry and tension.

Levi is Gavin's best friend and they went into the military together after High School. A few years later Gavin was killed while serving and Levi and their 3 friends are back from the service.

Harper is Gavin's little sister and Levi grew up around Harper and was very protective of her. Levi had feelings for Harper from a young age but he never showed them because he was her brothers best friend.

Harper is a reporter and she starts looking into her brothers death. She starts to get threats and gets her tires slashed. Levi jumps in and starts trying to protect her but Harper is stubborn and independent and doesn't want his help.

Harper and Levi fight for control but over time will Harper allow herself to see Levi's true motives and will Levi allow himself to show the feelings he has always had for Harper ?

This is a great read that everyone will enjoy !!!

I’m really sorry to say this, but unfortunately, I really didn’t like this book. And that almost never happens with a book written by Noelle Adams. The two main characters just really don’t speak to me. The hero (Levi) feels guilty about the death of the female character’s (Harper) brother. Why isn’t even very clear to me. Levi has had a crush on Harper for years, although her brother wasn’t supportive of his feelings. Harper thinks Levi thinks of her as incompetent and still a little girl. Throughout the story, she keeps going on and on about that. Levi is too bossy and overbearing, which I really didn’t like. Harper is too dramatic for my tastes, and even though she hates Levi, she keeps swooning over his attractiveness. I don’t like women who cannot make up their minds.
Harper is investigating her brother’s death, but somebody has it out for her after his death. That could have been interesting, but at the end of the book, it still isn’t clear if the mystery of his death will be solved in a later installment.
All of that said, I did like the secondary character’s so I really hope I’ll like the next books in the series.

Protecting His Best Friend's Sister is tragic, suspenseful and emotional romance. Harper and Levi's love story is one of pain, regret and danger. History has not been kind to their hearts, but perhaps grief could give them a second chance. Between her suspicions and his feelings of guilt, shared grief over a fallen loved one is the one commonality they share. Or that either will admit to. Can love for her brother and his friend save them? Or will her quest for answers prove her undoing? The first person narrative, the intense attraction along with the thrill of danger all combine to deliver a poignant, romantic and turbulent second chance story.

A good book for a first in a series. We're introduced to interesting characters who hold promise for future novels.

Levi and Harper are no exception. They have been circling around each other for years. Due to the tragic death of her brother and his best friend these two are brought together .

I liked their chemistry together but found the first half a bit redundant. They were constantly bickering with each other when I was hoping for more romance

The suspense story was interesting and kept me reading to find out who done it.

Based on the ending we're in for a few more books . I'm looking forward to read about the others.

Levi and Harper seemed to have a love/hate relationship. They both were attracted to each other, but neither would act on it. Until someone sets out to hurt Harper and Levi realizes that he will protect her no matter what she says. Harper is very independent and when Levi tries to help her she balks. Will Levi save her from whoever is after her? Will these two finally admit how they feel for each other? This is definitely a book worth reading and I am looking forward to the rest of the series!

This is another excellent steamy romance by excellent romance authors! Harper may be small but she is dynamite in the reporting world. When she feels that her Marine brother has died under mysterious circumstances, she goes after the military to find out why and then gets death threats from who knows who. Levi has been protecting his best friend's sister since he has known her and when his best friend dies, he remembers his feelings for her that were squashed by his best friend so long ago. I received a gifted copy. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review. I honestly love this story and this series!

I loved this story! It starts out as Levi’s best friend Gavin had died and they are at his funeral. Levi realizes he still has feelings and an attraction to Gavin’s little sister, Harper. Harper is a girl who is trying to overcome the image of being helpless and always needing saving. They are both strong headed and clash quite a bit. The characters are well developed and easy to relate too. The story flows smoothly and is easy to get lost in. I really enjoyed reading this story and can’t wait to read the next one in this series.

I was just completely thrilled to accept this amazing first book of
most exciting series, The Protectors. Written by two of my all time favourite writers, Samantha Chase and Noelle Adams. Such a total romantic masterpiece this emotional endearing story. I completely loved it too!!

Harper who had lost her was so sick and tired now. Yes, my brother is finally gone and buried. Everyone she knew were just feeling sorry for her now. She always stood up for herself. She never put up with any crap at all. She was strong, and pretty too.

Harper was a writer for their University paper. She worked with her head writer, Jack. They worked closely. Jack was a lot older than me. He just wouldn't give up meeting about my brother death. It really started to annoy me now. I was pretty short too. Cause he would purposely stand over me. So I started wearing high heed shoes. She now felt strange about than man. Uncomfortable would be the perfect word. She know knew something was wrong at her work. She was just fed up with Jack now.

Gavin and Harper was so dearly close. He was really such a fun guy. When Harper was always so formal with all her important issues at her college that were so important to her. Her brother could just have the great laugh of all.

While Harper was out with a friend for drinks she was total shocked to see Levi. He was just huge now, totally hunk material here. He hadn't seen me since my brother's burial. As we both headed towards me car now and seeing I now had two flat tires. Looking closer to them and both were slashed. I knew that I'd be vandalised. I just knew now someone was after me in some way. I was just happy now that Levi could take me home.

I completely adored this most fabulous exciting romance. Such an intensely moving story. A brilliant and wonderful story, one that I found was so hard to put down. It was a complete winner too!!

I started reading this book the minute I received it, and I absolutely loved it!!!!!! Samantha Chase and Noelle Adams write so well together. I was hooked right from the beginning and look forward to reading other books in this series!!!!

Levi has loved Harper from afar for way too long and he may have blown his chance forever but hat doesn't mean he can't look out for her. She is his best friend's sister after all and it's Levi's fault that Gavin didn't come home from the service.
Harper has hated Levi for far too long. Ever since he never showed up to take her to her senior prom, he was unreliable. She hated the fact up that he came home and Gavin didn't. She also can't give up the nagging feeling that something more happened on Gavin's last mission that no one is taking about. So she is trying to find answers, loudly. So loud that people are starting to take notice, someone in particular that wants to shut Harper up, permanently. It takes Levi to notice that all the things happening to Harper aren't coincidence. He makes it his purpose to protect Harper even if she doesn't want it.
I loved the bickering between these two. They fight so hard there is no way they aren't in love and have been for a long time. Levi has to overcome his fear that Gavin wouldn't have wanted them to be together. And Harper has to find it in her heart to forgive Levi for backing off so many times.
This was a quick read for me, mostly because I had to know who was behind everything that was going on. And also because I loved Levi's development. He is a serviceman who is given a medical discharge. He was planning on being a career military man. He really has no idea what he wants to do for the rest of his life. Protecting Harper is natural and leads him to something that he's good at. It also keeps him in close contact with his brothers at arms that also had to leave the service.
I also loved Harper's feistiness. She sticks with causes that she firmly believes in. No matter what everyone around her thinks. She always has a cause. As a reporter that can be a good thing, but it can also lead to some one not liking the cause.

Protecting His Best Friend's Sister brings us the story of Levi and Harper. Harper is the younger sister of Levi's best friend, Gavin, who was killed in the line of duty while on tour with Levi.

Levi is back home and when he runs into Harper, things are a bit rocky to say the least. Harper is on a personal mission to uncover the real story and reason behind her brother's death. And it seems to be ruffling a few feathers around town too, because she begins getting death threats after she starts her investigation into everything.

I really enjoyed this book and would LOVE a personal Levi of my own. Sigh. Who doesn't want someone to take care of them and protect them? Harper doesn't apparently. That was the one thing that was a struggle for me within the book. Harper was so SO adamant and against Levi stepping in and trying to protect her from the obvious danger she was in. I wanted to shake her! She was in her own darn way the entire stinking book! However, her stubbornness definitely made me want to read faster so that I could read the moment she FINALLY got out of her way, and Levi was able to show her that needing someone some times is OKAY.

I loved the book and the emotion that Samantha and Noelle were able to bring out through out. I cannot imagine losing someone so dear to me at war. The ultimate sacrifice. They did a great job of showing the struggles that vets go through when adjusting to civilian life again, and how it isn't always a seamless and easy transition for them. Loved the book!

Another wonderful story by Samantha Chase and Noelle Adams as they penned Protecting His Best Friend’s Sister, the first book in their Protector’s Series. These two ladies definitely know how to write together and produce a flowing and intriguing story. As the title states, this is a best friend’s little sister trope with lots of drama and charm.

Levi has always been friends with Gavin and thus Harper, Gavin’s younger sister. Harper might be younger, smaller, and a girl but she is determined to prove her independence and strength. Gavin couldn’t pinpoint when he first fell for Harper but knew in his heart he would always be there to protect her, especially after Gavin’s death in Afghanistan. Harper rebels against what she interprets as control on Levi’s part, fighting her interest and desire for him. When Harper’s life is threatened, Levi steps up his game to determine who the culprit is and to keep Harper safe.

His Best Friend’s Sister is a great story with plenty of attempts at romance! Levi and Harper share a special chemistry and compassion with each other that is demonstrated throughout the book. I really enjoyed reading this book and had trouble putting it down. I recommend this book to other readers. It makes for a wonderful, light easy read. Although this book is part of a series it is a standalone story.

Levi and his three friends were back from the Marines burying Levi’s best friend Gavin. Levi and Gavin had been friends since elementary school and his younger sister Harper had always tried to hang around them. Levi noticed Harper as someone other than his best friends sister when she was 16 years old. He never did anything about it as Gavin would have beat the crap out of him. Someone is threatening Harper as she is trying to get answers on how her brother died. Levi is there to protect her.

Harper is petite but a real fire ball. She is stubborn and is always trying to prove she can take care of herself without anyone’s help. Levi is stubborn and determined to keep her safe. His feelings for her have grown stronger even though he still feels like he can’t do anything about them because of Gavin. Is was a good story that I enjoyed reading.

A very emotional read. When Levi came back from serving his country one person didn't. His brother in arms. Who had so much waiting for him.
The hardest part was seeing Harper his sister after all this time. She was always around them growing up. But she's furious at him now. He can't blame her.

Harper has always had a thing for Levi. It's hard for her to see him and not her brother.

Levi will Protect his best friends sisters at any cost. She may hate him at times, but he won't give up doing it.

see what happens between these two. It's a constant bicker with them. But they have known each other for a long time. There's a bit of chemistry there. But will it work out?

I am increasing loving the collaboration between these two authors. While this book had been released before, it has been updated and added too. I didn't get a chance to read the first release so I can't comment on the changes. But since I fell in love with this book, I am sure they are good additions. The two main characters really go through every emotion. They are angry, sad, protective, romantic and loving.
I can't wait for the others in this series.

Harper Murphy is off limits to Levi. Levi has been best friends with Harper’s brother for his whole life and dating the best friend’s little sister is a no no. I loved Harper and Levi together. Loved how strong Harper was and how genuine Levi was. Such a good read!

Harper lost her brother, a Marine. Her questions about his death are placing her in danger. Levi was her brothers best friend. Levi has had a crush on Harper since he helped her fix a flat on the side of the road. He struggles with loving her and wanting to be with her, and doing what his best friend would have wanted. Intriguing, page turning romance.

I loved this book! Of course, I love books with men in uniform so this one was a must-read anyway. I am never disappointed by a book written by Ms. Chase or Ms. Addams but this one is probably my favorite so far. Great read!

I got a free copy of this book. I expected something a little spicier but this one wasn't bad. I will have to say it was a little slow in places. If your in the mood for a quick read this is one. Please keep in mind it isn't a wild and wicked spicy story. Check it out you might like it, for the price it is worth your time.

This was a really good read!

Levi and Harper's personalities were so similar, their banter and fights were quite entertaining lol. Both were strong, stubborn characters, and I loved that Levi never backed down on his protectiveness of her. There were twists and turns, and I definitely didn't see the villain being who it was.

A must read!!!
