Nashville heat is an well written hot book. It is not intended for readers under 18 because of how steamy it is. BUT if you are over 18 and you love steamy, hot books, Then this is the book for YOU!!!! Very highly recommended

The heroine came across as a little full of herself. The plot was okay . No spelling mistakes that stood out. Certainly not a waste of space. But the story didn't have many layers to it. An easily forgettable story. Probably a perfect read for a day when nothing is much happening.

I purely hated this book. For the female protagonist to continually tell other characters she didn't want to sleep her way to a record contract she sure did enough of it. The good points were the use of Nashville landmarks. The time it took the character, Sydney, to go from a dumpy downtown Nashville apartment to the Opryland Hotel was stretched out of time frame. One can go from downtown Nashville to Murfreesboro, Tn. in an hour and that's not using the interstate highway. I know more about Nashville then the average reader since I spent most of my growing up years in Nashville.

This story actually turned out to be a very sweet love story. There are some sex scenes throughout, but I don't feel they overtake the building of the relationship between the two main characters. They story line is easy to follow. The characters are really well written to where you feel you know them. All in all a very good quick read.

This book may be interesting for some people but it was not really my thing. I am all for sex scenes in books but I also like getting to know the characters more and having more story to go with the sex scenes. I may have well been reading a porno script.

NASHVILLE HEAT by Bethany Michaels.

STORY BRIEF:
Dex just signed a record deal and meets Sydney. She's crazy about him but tells him she's not interested. She doesn't tell him her name or phone. Two years pass, and Dex becomes a mega star. They accidentally meet again and are drawn to each other, but again she leaves him. Sydney is a hopeful country singer/song writer. She sings in local bars while working for a caterer to pay her bills. After two years she's still doing the same thing, with no luck in getting her big break. A contest is being held for new singers. She plans to enter.

REVIEWER'S OPINION:
I read 68% of the book, and I couldn't finish it. It was insulting. I was angry with the methods of conflict which were (1) her not acting in accordance with her feelings and motivations and (2) inaccurate assumptions. For example, when they first meet they immediately fall for each other and have sex. He wants to continue the relationship, but she blows him off. She acts like she's not interested. He's hurt as he watches her drive away. She pines for him for the next two years. Then they accidentally meet and again can't resist each other. They have amazing sex. He has to leave for a short while and asks her to wait for him. She says yes, but changes her mind. She decides that she would be just another bimbo in his life and leaves. Her assumption about bimbos is not true. She's crazy about him, but she doesn't follow her feelings. He repeatedly shows her that he cares, but she never believes it. She uses stupid and unreasonable excuses not to be with him, which for me is poor writing. Couldn't the author come up with something interesting or reasonable to create conflict?

Another stupid conflict: as Dex's housekeeper is leaving for the day, she asks if she should close and lock the gate. He says no, leave it open, I'll close it later. There was no reason for this. Of course, he forgets. Then the paparazzi show up and cause a problem by taking a picture of Sydney. Again, can't the author come up with something more believable as a way for the paparazzi to get her picture?

I love a country music hottie and Dex definately delivered. However, the characters were not really developed enough to get attached to. There was great chemistry and some steamy scenes, an enjoyable quick read but it was too rushed. Not very ofter I say "the book should have been longer" but in this case, it would have been a great read if we got to know them more deeply. I would have liked more details on Sydney's success. 3.5 stars
