I expected more from this book. It hardly measures up to WHITNEY, MY LOVE, and I don't see how it got a 4.5 star rating. The first half of the novel seemed promising, but my hopes were squashed by the heroine. At first, her pride and loyalty to her family was touching, but it got old real fast. I didn't enjoy watching Royce suffer and it was hard for me to believe she loved him if she could continue to hurt him.

Unfortunately, I couldn't help but notice the similarities between A KINGDOM OF DREAMS and Julie Garwood's THE BRIDE. It is a little discouraging when authors seem to repeat scenes and duplicate characters.

I would recommend you take this book out from your local library. If you want to purchase a book you'll reread go with McNaught's REMEMBER WHEN, PARADISE or WHITNEY, MY LOVE.

With any book written by Judith McNaught. I am working my way through every novel she wrote and every single book delivers. I can't read them fast enough. She writes page-turners, and this one is no exception. You won't be sorry. Purchase some of her novels and get ready to stay up half the night reading!

This book does not equal some of McNaught's other works. The heroine is a fiery Scottish lass and the hero is an Englisman known as The Wolf. It didn't become interesting until toward the end when the actual jousting and conflict between Scottish and English arose. I could have told anyone that if the heroine had been disowned by her family after the first few chapters and then tagged on the fighting at the end you would have had a tasty novella! Too many pages, too little return for the time spent reading it!

I have purchased this book twice when the first copy went missing! This book I have read at least three times. The hero is so patient with a young woman who does many stupid things because of her conflicting emotions and family prejudices. His steadfastness and unconditional love finally seep through her heart. If you could read only one romance, this is the one I would choose.

Im not much for typical romance novels, the ones you know are always going to end with almost everyone living happily ever after. But im glad i made an exception for this one. Royce had me swooning chapter after chapter. Romance can not get any better without becoming fake a cheesey. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to be cared away by a firey love that leaps off the pages into your heart. This is a wonderful story that makes you laugh, cry, and most of all melts your heart...

Judith McNaught is one of my favorite authors! This prequill to Whitney My Love was not disappointing! While Whitney My Love is my personal favorite historical romance novel of all time; Kingdom of Dreams was a natural and delightful addition to the Whitney serries! I would recommend reading all three Whitney novels in order to really capture the characters in their developement throughout time.

The novel started off well written with a series of events that make you experience joy, laughter, and sometimes annoyance and anger. I enjoyed Royce Westmoreland very much as the hero. He has a strong disposition but I didn't quite understand how he could be easily duped by amateur stunts the heroine engaged in. Speaking of the heroine, I can appreciate that she has a strong backbone and a great deal of spunk to go with it but I found, much like others who have posted, that her childish behavior was quite annoying from time to time. There wasn't any character development of others in the novel which I've grown accustomed to from other reads. This lack of development only served to place emphasizes that the story was getting a bit tedius about 1/4 shy of the book's conclusion. I didn't finish the novel to the end because the story line seemed predictable and it just didn't hold my interest any longer to care very much what ocurred. I scored this novel 4 out of 5 stars because I found that the author has one heck of a sense of humor that I very much enjoyed throughout the greater portion of the book.

Loved this book!!! I was hesitant because when I was about to buy it, I read many mixed reviews, but it was worth it. I bought it alongside " Once and Always" by the same author and this was my favorite. It has the perfect mix of passion, intensity, adventure and excitement I was looking for; I couldn't t stop reading!!! I really liked Jennifer's personality and Royce's character was much likeable and aproachable than Jason Fielding. All in all , a very good light read that will no disappoint you.
