I absolutely love this book. I own the paperback and have read it so many times I wore out the glue holding the pages in. Robert McCammon is primarily known for his horror novels, but this is one of his best books. I would also recommend Boy's Life and Gone South.

That summary along should be enough, and Wolf's Hour largely delivers. There's a bit of modern angst and deep soul-searching but there's also good action and perhaps a bit of good character development.

This one makes you look at werewolves differently! Love this complex character. I recommended this book many times as a librarian for horror and action readers. The rereading many years later did not disappoint.

Well written, exciting, good character development, a very enjoyable read. Why does the store demand a certain number of words? Those of use that are brief and to the point won't get to recommend books for other people.

This is such a great story. It's enthralling, exciting, and a book to get lost in. I couldn't put it down. I love the complexity, the breath taking and break neck speed that the tale unwinds. Michael Gallatin is a super hero and his metamorphosis into a wild and dangerous beast is totally believable. Ricky B

As other reviewers have mentioned, this almost seems like two books. I enjoyed the parts about Michael's earlier history (his time with the pack) but found the WWII portion completely ridiculous. In fact, the 'train ride' section left me just shaking my head at how over-the-top it was.

The sections of this story concering the werewolf protagonist's rearing among his Russian pack were well-written. Those parts of the book concerning the protagonist's snarling defeat of his Nazi antagonists weren't as compelling. The espionage plot was predictable.
