Michael did such a fantastic job of blending real sources with his own story that is is truly difficult to discern between what is real and what is not. The story is simple, yet compelling and engaging.

I bought this book after reading another Crichton book, Jurassic Park, and loved his writing style. As soon as I got back home from vacation I had to order this. The story was amazing and the writing is amazing.

I wanted to read this book simply because i enjoyed the movie ( the 13th warrior) that was based off of this book. The movie was close enough to the books plot that i wasnt dissapointed, but the book really had a different twist, both in the style of writing, and in the explanation to the origins of the antagonists. I thouroghly enjoyed it!

From chapter one I found myself unable to set the book aside for more than maybe ten to twenty minutes at a time. As much as I loved the telling of the story through the film, "The Thirteenth Warrior", once again, in the fashion of all stories it would seem, the book is far more entertaining than the film.
