If you liked Captain Janeway of the Starship Voyager, you'll love Captain Bond and her pirate spaceship. Lots of adventures and action. The ending was a little abrupt, but overall, a good exciting read.

I have read a lot of sci-fi in my time, and this novel was top-notch. I eagerly await the forthcoming sequel! There were only a few minor word order issues, obvious artifacts of the author making the words flow more beautifully. The flow of action was excellent, with a great descriptive technique.

The pacing was good and the characters brought the setting to life. Good effort was made in conflicts and emotional questions. More could be done to bring life to supporting characters as only a handful were fleshed out. Great read looking forward to the next one.
The Short Victorious War (Honor Harrington Book 3) :: Worlds of Honor 6 (Honor Harrington- Anthologies) :: The Honor of the Queen (Honor Harrington #2) :: A Call to Arms (Manticore Ascendant series Book 2) :: A Beautiful Friendship (Honor Harrington - Star Kingdom Book 1)

Another good book. The aliens are well done. The ship battles are intense and detailed. The best part is the way the characters moral choices are highlighted. I'm getting the next in the series right now.

This is a great start to a series. I like that this book has more positive overtones in it despite the overwhelming odds presented to the main character. I would say it vaguely reminds me of Star Trek Enterprise in its feel. Thanks.

Having read a number of Glynn Stewart's series I was eager to see this new work.

I found myself reading the book in one sitting as I couldn't put it down. I love space opera books, especially military sci fi. This is an excellent book and I recommend it to anyone that loves the genre.

What do you get when you mix a kick ass heroine with unshakeable ethics, the knowledge that the universe is way bigger than you ever expected and weapons of massive destruction on a global scale? An explosive story because some people will always choose what's right over what's easy.

I am very much a fan of the author's work but with this series he's pushing a progressive political agenda hard. Particularly annoying is all the gay crap. I don't care what people do but I'll not have it shoved up my nose. Then there is the gay former SAS Major. How do you take such a person seriously when you know he's been taking it in the mouth and up the rear? I turn to reading for ESCAPE, not to feel like I'm watching MSNBC.

This book was fun to read. Once again humanity proves its superiority over aliens via its determination and scrappiness! This book has a comforting feel that's almost nostalgic while still being fresh.

I wasn't sure what to think when I stated reading this but I have to say I wasn't disappointed at all. In fact now that I've finished this book I decidedly need more! Fun read, great characters good action. Give it a read!

Earth is taken over by a group of aliens that aren't malicious or unfair. But humans, especially from America, are too pig headed to let anyone be in charge, so they fight and die and complain about dying and fight some more. I rolled my eyes too much to enjoy this book.

Just when you think Glynn can't possibly have more up his sleeve, he starts a whole new stream. Great read. I can't wait until his next release in any of the several lines he has created. Thank you GS!

This is a very odd duck. Standard aliens conquer the earth plot. Here the captain of earths most powerful ship is sent out a a privateer to gain the means to liberate the planet. The character of the captain and various secondary characters is well drawn. The space battles are also well managed. At its heart its a tale of the moral dilemmas faced by the captain in becoming a pirate for liberation. By the way there are several Weber references and of course we have intergalactic slave which is so common in science fiction these days in spite of the absurdity of the concept. The problem here is the conquers are represented as honorable beings who only conquered earth, and killed millions, for our own good. The odd logic just twists the whole plot. If you want to see alien conquest handled more logically see Eric Flint's Jao Empire series. Moral issues of command Weber's Honor Harrington series is a better bet. Does have good action sequences.

Okay. I'm biased. Frankly I think Glynn Stewart is easily a writer in the same vein as Arthur C Clarke; and this story is no exception. By the time I finished this book (oh yeah, it was the same day!) I was already anxiously looking forward to the next book! Again, Glynn Stewart's books can easily stand alone; but... why?

Another great Glynn Stewart book and series. Seriously loved this book and the following ones. Great characters, great story, a great read all around. Highly recommend this book and any other book from Glynn Stewart. Well worth the time and money to read all of them. Like, all of them. All the books you can get your hands on by Glynn Stewart, read them.

I continue to be impressed by Glenn's work as I read his various series of Space Opera military sci-fi, whatever you want to call it. I just call it hours and hours of pure enjoyment reading. Thank you, Glenn.

Firstly, I received a free copy of this book for an unbiased review.

Secondly, this was a really good read. I loved Starship Mage, but I found Space Carrier Avalon a bit hard to get into.

There's a lot of going on with backstabbing, space pirates, secret space developments, world conquering aliens. There was lots of twists and turns making it a fun and interesting read.

Looking forward to the next one.

It took me several days to read this book, which is unusual for me. I liked the premise of the story and found the characters to be very substantial. I thought they worked well with the dilemmas presented to them. I'm looking forward to the next book in this series.

The Terran privateer was a brilliant start to a future series of book it has space combat and diplomacy rolled in one and the string will of humans against all others

It is a highly recommended book

I was able to read this as advance copy and wish to thank the author for the chance and hope there are more in this series

This story presents a morality question which, while conceivable, often is over looked in possible futures. ie. can someone hold true to their beliefs throughout their interactions. I look forward to the next episode

The terrain privateer is one of the best books of this genre that I have read. I have read Glynn Stewart's Space Carrier Avalon series and this is its rival. I would recommend this book to all. I loved it and encourage others to read and experience the beginning of THE DUCHY OF TERRA.

I will not describe the plot, the characters, or the quality of the writing. What I will do is tell you that this book is worth buying with your hard earned money. I believe you will thank me when you are finished reading it.

Even for all the action at the beginning, it takes a while for the narrative to build a direction and flow. About mid point everything comes together and moves. Totally worth it in the end.

I am going to purchase the next book. Best recommendation I can give.

Well this is written much better, and more interesting than most scifi adventures.
Something just makes it seem real!
It not the men, it's the women!
She served even when everyone turned on her, repeatedly!
A heroine with vision, not a lack of it.
I'll follow her in any series!
