Very thoughtful projections of post human struggles to come. Highly realistic commentary on social, cultural, religious, scientific and political forces likely in play as strong AI and genetically and technologically modified humans emerge in next twenty years

Strikingly original and thought-provoking. Although much of the technology seems fantastical, it might just happen in the coming decades. The characters are likable, the story-telling is fun, but it is the reaction of the world to this new tech that drives the story.

One of my favorite books/series for the year. The technology depicted - while not here today - is not too hard to imagine the possibility. More interesting was how the author depicted the social division created by the new technical capabilities - and the reaction of governments and politicians.
Mass Effect - Andromeda: Nexus Uprising :: How a Band of Survivors and a Young Spy Agency Chased Down the World's Most Notorious Nazi :: KL: A History of the Nazi Concentration Camps :: The Documented Truth of Hitler's Escape from Berlin (The Hitler Escape Trilogy) :: Apex: Nexus Trilogy Book 3 (Nexus Arc)

A great trip between eastern philosophy, glimpses of what a hi tech near future may bring and the politics and ethics to be considered in shaping that world. All wrapped up in an action packed story that kept me turning page after page. This series is great. I am now done reading Nexus and Crux for the second time to prepare for Apex.

Just finished Nexus and Crux, within a period of 2 weeks. As a Psychology student the possibilities he talks about in these books are amazing, terrifying, and not terribly unrealistic or improbable over the next ten or twenty years. A must read for anyone who loves good science fiction!

This part of the trilogy explores the good and bad effects of Nexus technology, and the various actors who try to exploit and control it. It's scenarios are all too believable and strong arguments for absolute transparency about the actions of the powerful -- whether they want it or not.

In this sequel to the widely-acclaimed "Nexus", Naam explores a world struggling to incorporate the widely available (if still very illegal) nanodrug Nexus. As the population using Nexus grows, so does the cast of characters - including Kade's friends Rangan Shankari and Ilya Alexander, a transhumanist terrorist, autistic children, and a government scientist increasingly addicted to the Nexus in his brain.

It's a gloriously dark tale where no one is safe, and no one is right. It's obvious Naam is an optimist, but reality keeps getting in the way. Characters you love make bad decisions for noble reasons, while characters you want to hate compel you with their tortured humanity. It's a fast-paced action thriller that will leave you giggling, crying, and begging for more.

All great science fiction writers challenge us with directions that emerging science might take and the real human dilemmas that will arise. The Nexus books begin with party scenes not so very different than what I have experienced, and step us into what can only be described as an awakening.

I really enjoyed this book. The characters are deep and complex and not just one note. I was very pleased with the story and was not at all predictable. The tech descriptions are detailed and plausible. The politics are more frightening than anything! Highly recommended.

Pros: page turner, addicting, scifi, neuro / Buddhist pop. Some decent moral dilemmas raised. A few good plot twists.

Cons: much of it felt like an action movie script. Lots of problems being solved with shooting / bombs / fists. Would have liked back stories and characters more fleshed out ... Less violence.

A really excellent read -- wonderful to have a sci-fi book written by a programmer. Plenty of real-world details, fleshed out into a surprising view of the near future.

A new generation of cyberpunk, highly recommended.

Wonderful to follow the arcs of the characters established in Nexus. They grow and change in ways unexpected in such an action-heavy book.

And oh the action! I couldn't put it down once I realized the likely scenario of the climactic sequence. Even missed my train stop this morning!

Fun things to consider wrapped up in an engaging story. The author does a great job describing feelings and thoughts occurring inside ones mind. A thought provoking romp providing escapism as well as a bit of a dystopian future. I recommend these books.

A fast paced and absolutely engrossing book. Takes themes presented in the first book and delves into them on a whole new level. Not more of the same, but a natural extension that explores potentials for positives and negatives whether it be socially, politically and scientifically while presenting a thrilling story. Well done Ramez!

Among the finest sci-fi stories I've read. Intertwines cutting edge science with realistic political interpretation. Educates and brings the reader into the psychological future world of our vastly changing human
landscape. ENJOY!

Loved this novel. Intelligent and original with great action and interesting characters - both good and bad. The bad guys largely think they are in the right and are not too one dimensional. Not sure if the author intended it but think it is a bit of of a take on the party pill scene of the "war on drugs". Highly recommended.
