Even without all of the modern toys, King still kicks some serious butt. This time Jeremy Robinson, with J.Kent Holloway brings us Jack Sigler 2800 years in the past, fighting for mankind and once again saving the world. This time from a crazy high priest and an alien species that has been awoken in ancient Babylon times. I wasn't sure I would like King with out Hercules, or without the Chess Team, but I eventually let down my guard and enjoyed every page of this one man army Demi god adventure. Robinson and Holloway did a good job intertwining story lines of mythical, biblical and science fiction elements in a fast paced, page turner that left me craving for more. You must read the whole Chess Team and King series, you can't read just one :)

Jeremy Robinson is a master manipulator at suspending disbelief...every one of his books takes you on a jet propelled, roller coaster ride through the annals of historical myths and monsters. Page turning plots and wonderful, outlandish hero's and heroines that keep you intrigued throughout the whole story. Ever since discovering Mr. Robinson I have been an avid fan of all his tomes and he's now on my pre-order authors list. All the Call Sign books were fantastic...if you read one you'll read them all. If you like Mathew Reilly and James Rollins you should add Jeremy Robinson to your collection.

What do you get when you combine two stellar writers?????
You get Guardian.
This is part of the Chess Team Saga by Jeremy Robinson, how ever it can pass as a stand alone story, but I recommend getting familiar with this entire collection. Anyway King gets trapped in time, and this is one of the many events he experiences during this strange time in his life. It's very well written, and I like how they where able to mix biblical and historical events with a major dose of ass kikcking and action galore!!!!
It's a short book but definitely one of the best so far. I highly recommend not only this book but the entire collection. Enjoy!!

I have enjoyed most of the Chess Team series, but this one seemed to be on the weak end for me. An immortal hero takes away much of the suspense for me. I was a bit lost in some parts due to zoning out a few times while reading. I consider myself a fan of Jeremy Robinson, but this one was certainly not one I will consider reading again. I would recommend many others before it.

Robinson & Holloway tag team to give you a fantastic adventure in the past. For those of you who have read the other Chess Team novels, you know the identity of the mysterious stranger who was introduced at the beginning of the book, and it was just a matter of time before he found trouble. For those who haven't read them, you're missing out! Mythical beasts, ridiculous odds, mysterious allies, and some science fiction are ingredients that Robinson includes in mostly all of his books, and he never ceases to amaze.

Guardian, the new King book by Jeremy Robinson and J. Kent Holloway is a tale of high adventure! If you know the Chess Team, King in particular, this is a good chapter in the saga. DO NOT read this unless you have read Omega by Robinson and Kane Gilmour first! I'm serious! In fact, check out all the other Chess Team books first, Prime, Pulse, Instinct, Threshold, the 8 CallSign novellas, Ragnarok, and then Omega. This is an awesome series an you'll love it, especially from the beginning!

WARNING!!! you must read Omega first!!!
after learning the events of Omega you will love this novella edition of King's escapades in the past.
reading how he uses his modern training with his not-so-modern weapons is a really neat take on things.
but at the end of the day King is King, and he is amazing!!!

This book was an excellent read! It was fast-paced with a great storyline and characters. I loved the historical aspect of the story and Jack Sigler's place in that history. The combination of Jeremy Robinson and Kent Holloway is excellent and I look forward to more stories by this duo.

Jeremy Robinson has become my favorite author. I have read all of his work, and this one does not disappoint. He took King in directions I did not anticipate. I'm looking forward to his journey back to the present! If you love the Chess Team series, you have to read this. I would recommend you get caught up first so you know the background story.

After reading the last book in the Jack Sigler series, I was looking forward to stories from Jack's trip through time. And this first one did not let me down. Great story! Looking forward to much more!!! This author is one of my favorites and I will read whatever he writes.

Jeremy Robinson is quickly showing the world what his fans have known for years, that he can write one hell of a book. GUARDIAN is a little different from the other books featuring the Chess team, but still has all of the nail biting edge of your seat suspense that you expect from a Jeremy Robinson book. This is a summer read that will entertain to the last page.

What happens when a near immortal warrior, stuck in the past meets up with an evil priest hoping to unleash his god? Heads are going to roll. This was a face paced action adventure that nearly caused my fingers to bleed turning the pages so fast. Love it.

Wow what a great follow up story to Omega, History & Sci-fi and of course King all set into 1 book. This was a ROCKSTAR story I love the fact that the twist & turns will keep you on the edge of your seat. When I think the writing can't get better it does.
Try out this book you will love it.

While I prefer the present day Chess Team novels, this was an interesting follow up to the most recent novel with King living in the past. The story was interesting, but a bit more outrageous and unbelievable than usual.

Robinson and Holloway have crafted a unique and entertaining entry to the very successful Chess Team/Jack Sigler series. Taking our hero into the past, while combining science fiction with sprinkles from the Bible makes Guardian a thrill-ride not to be missed. The words spring off the page, the characters come alive, and the action is non-stop. Bravo, gentlemen!
