Another excellent Isaac Bell story! This book takes you back to when Isaac is still a rookie, on the first investigation in which he takes the lead. I thought it was better than "The Wrecker" and "The Chase" both of which I had placed tops in the series until now.

Typical Cussler book. The only thing I don't understand is that the book is written like Cussler is introducing his character,Isaac Bell, for the first time. Earlier Cussler books previously introduced the Bell character. This one part makes no sense to me.

This as always a great book from Clive Cussler! I have all of Cussler's books and they always provide such enjoyment! His books get you so involved you can't stop on one! Scott Brick reads is books on cd's and is a great reader!
The Navigator (The NUMA Files) :: Skeleton Coast (The Oregon Files) :: Medusa (Kurt Austin, Bk 8) :: White Death (NUMA Files) :: Night Probe! (Dirk Pitt Adventure Series)

A captivating mystery with Isaac Bell using the (relatively) advanced resources of the early 20th century to stop the efforts of big business to demonize the unions. It is intesting to see what he is able to accomplish with the latest methods and resources available to him.

Did injoy the story. Unlike previous 'Isaac Bell' adventures...thought is somwhat slow to develop. Does provide some perspective to Bell's investigative background and history. Recommended for those following the Bell story line.

Isaac Bell, the main character, is not exactly my favorite character. But it is a pretty good read anyway. I may give him another chance and see if I can learn to like him more because I do like Clive Cusslers other books.

This is Cussler for those who don't normally read his books, but love period adventure, railroads and old fashioned fun. It can be read as a prequel to the other Isaac Bell stories or as a stand-alone. A great companion on a trip or an evening in front of a fire.

I have read every book written by CLive CUssler and he never seems to disappoint me. Once again he has out done himself with another fine piece of fiction. His writing always keeps you wanting to keep on reading. I would tell everyone who likes good reading to read this book.

I really enjoy reading anything from Clive Cussler. His books are excellent and everyone should read them. I am hoping that there will be more Dirk Pitt novels to read about and hope his children are involved more.

I enjoy this new character of Clive Cussler's. I enjoy period pieces that deal with things from a historic point of view. He brings forth a feeling of gallantry that we no longer have during this time and age.

For followers of Clive Cussler novel's this is one more adventure with the detective Isaac Bell. As with most Cussler books the reader is treated to a blend of fiction and fact and another collectors item.

Bell is a good solid character, but the real star of the book is the description of a dark time in our nation's history. Of course in this book the good guys win, In truth this chapter of our past cost us our humanity for a time.

Once again Cussler has the ability to weave history into fiction in a human and believable manner...Again very enjoyable. His stories are like potato chips...can't eat just one....and can't read only one as well.

I love Isaac Bell and wife Marion. They go together well in Cussler's plots. Always a new and surprising adventure waiting around the corner. I read all Cussler books and especially enjoy the Isaac Bell books.

The entire Isaac Bell series gives us a wild view of the turn of the century and the beginnings of the Private Detective industry. I have all of them and have yet to be disappointed. If you like page turner adventure action, this is for you.

I have read and purchsed every book that Clive Cussler has written. This one was just almost OK. Same old stuff over and over again. I think Cussler should kill off Isaac in a blaze of Gore and Glory and let him and us faithful readers rest in peace.
