The King James Study Bible - Full-Color Edition

This is a gorgeous, full color study bible. It comes in a box and is not only a great study bible but would make an excellent gift too. I have wanted to study the Bible for years and this one will actually get me to do it.

There are a lot of different study guidelines with this book and these are the ones that I found most interesting and helpful to my reading style: Personality Profiiles that describes key men and women of the Bible; Archaeological sites - the color pictures are interesting and helpful in having a reference to the area that is being described; The equivalent and alternate translations and the footnotes at the bottom of the pages. There are also wonderful color maps at the back of the book like Jesus’ Ministry and Jerusalem in the time of Jesus.

This study Bible really breaks it all down so you can understand it and makes it easier to follow along. The pictures are wonderful. I love the gold gilt edges of the pages and also the feel of the pages. This is a keepsake study Bible that is great for studying or even giving as a gift.

Amazing illustrations.

Actual scripture at the top of every page and explanations on the bottom parts of every page, along with a center column that has explanatory and language notes along with cross references.

My only complaint is very subjective, is that I am not real keen on this bible's King James translation, e.g.
the well known First Corinthians, Chapter 13 is more known as follows,
"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud." In this bible, it is written as
"Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up."

The photographs and artwork are amazing in this bible. The first many pages include "How to Use," and "Intro to Doctrinal Footnotes" along with "How to Study the Bible" are very helpful and illuminating and are important features.

This book is not for the beginner unless he or she is very serious, in the sense that this study bible includes complicated issues such as Hebrew and Greek word study concordance, translation notes etc. However, anyone will enjoy the beautiful maps, images, charts, etc.

This study Bible includes a plethora of information. The book outlines and overviews are very helpful. The colored pictures bleed through, but that is to be expected. I was able to mark verses in this Bible without any bleed through. The only negative aspects were the pages stuck on the edges, and I prefer the leather tough of Holman Bibles. Overall, this is a nice study Bible that will aid in the understanding of God’s word.

A beautiful leather study bible that has graphically detailed color photos. Scripture at the top with notes and study material at the bottom. It is filled with visual pictures to help depict places, temples, locations, materials, and artifacts. KJV is not the easiest to just pick up and start studying but if you are one to like the old language and already are very familiar with the Bible this is a great Leather Study Bible. If you are just starting to study Christianity and need something that will not be so hard to understand their are other Bibles that are for you. But I love the language and it gives the scripture a more dated feel that for me has a powerful feel to it. This is a great Bible and will be loved!

This is a beautiful Bible. While it says "Study Bible", unless you enjoyed toting large books around, this is a "study at home Bible". It works well for that. The soft leather cover is nice. It opens flat. There are tons of notes, references, maps and pictures within. The Old King James is my favorite Bible, but the King James Version is good too. If you want your Bible to sound like modern English though, this is not your book. This Bible looks enticing on the coffee table (or Bible stand if you have one), set it there so ready to read whenever you are.

For someone like me that's new to actually studying the Bible, this is a beautiful iteration of it. The notes included on the pages give me the insight I've always needed to fully process the passages, so that I can find meaning in them for myself. The color images and maps add an extra layer of interest and insight, and it's all beautifully boxed and packaged so that it's ready for gifting, if you choose to buy copies for others. This is now my go-to version of the Bible, and offers everything I've always wanted to find personal meaning in its pages.

This Bible makes it so much easier to understand with the Doctrinal Footnotes, Personality Profiles and Archaeological Sites. Color photos and maps have helped me to understand the area better and what it might have been like. This is a wonderful keep sake.

This has been such an incredible addition to my home. Everyone in the house enjoy looking through it, and reading passages. My kids feel very special when they get to hold the "fancy Bible", and I enjoy having my own copy to take to church. It's very high quality.

Christopher Glyn's talented voice and knowledge of the text makes for a rich listening experience. The Complete King James Version Audio Bible is a step above other versions I've heard, it really drew me in, captivating me with a good balance of reverence for the Holy Word and emotional vibrance inherent in such a great literary work. The musical framework added a further dimension, which greatly enhanced the devotional aspect of the reading for me. All in all, I'd recommend it enthusiastically to anyone looking for a fuller inspirational experience.

I have a seminary background but I still love the KJV language. This is a lovely edition, chock full of annotation, helps and images. I love the clear, easy to read font. It is a red letter edition. There is exhaustive cross referencing. It’s a very nice study work if you like the KJ.

A couple things to keep in mind....this weighs over 3# and is quite heavy in the hand. The cover and binding are not stiff so there is no “ skeleton” so to speak. I think this would be perfect for a podium or lectern but you might get hand tired holding this for long. The edge is gilt which seems to have resulted in a lot of pages stuck together. First tme through use care to separate the pages.

Overall, a sincere, scholarly effort.

Very easy to listen to. The books are broken into chapters and download sections at a time to keep the downloads smaller, so it loads quickly. The only complaint I would have is that you are unable to navigate by book/chapter/verse, but I would imagine that ability would come with a much slower download.

Terrible app on the Kindle 8.9! When you download, it chops the app into 11 separate books. Once downloaded, you have no idea which is which because the beginning chapters are not marked on the books, so you're basically just opening them blindly! Other than that, it's a Good app. Too much on the downside!!! 2✴S.

I downloaded this because I had an audible credit through the store for my Kindle. This is a terrible product for kindle. There is no table of contents. There is no way for you to systematically go through the audio because nothing is labled. You don't know which book your listening to unless you already know the scripture that's playing. I would never by this product for my Kindle. I'm glad I only used a credit.

Christopher Glyn's version of the King James Bible has become my favorite daily listening. It's the pure Word of God, read in simplicity and clarity, with devotion and respect, no distracting frills added, with a simple instrumental background for easy listening. Just beautiful, spiritually feeding and inspiring. I would highly recommend it.
