Bear Snores On (The Bear Books)

Great little board book. I had only read this once to our 3-yr-old granddaughter and when I did it the second time, she already could predict the text, "and the bear snores on." She loves the story and the pictures and we make a great game of reading it. Nice addition to any child's library.

This was recommended to us by our local children's librarian and we wound up checking it out over and over for about 2 months. Now we have finally ordered our own copy. It's fun for the adult to read because it rhymes and there are lots of opportunities to make sound effects and different voices if you want to. It also has great illustrations.

My daughter loves this book so much we even have it memorized and recite it together in the car!

The stories surrounding Bear are so wonderful, the rhythm of the words has a nice cadence. Bear and his friends have great adventures together. I would recommend these books to everyone. I believe I have purchased and given away 4 sets of the books starring Bear (8 books in the series I believe).

Delightful characters. A super friendly, non-scary bear with many wildlife friends to have adventures with. They miss him when he's hibernating. My grandson does a wonderful snoring sound when we read this book together. (He learned snoring from his grandpa who died too young.)

The poem is well-written and adorable, the illustrations are funny and endearing. My little girl and I love this book. She points out various things about the pictures: bear's footprints in the snow leading up to the cave, for example, and tells me on every page, "Look, Mommy, bear still sleeping!"

So much fun to read again and again. We can't wait to get some more books about Bear.

Absolutely love this book...as do my two girls. We are on our second copy b/c the first one ended up in two pieces from overuse. The second copy did too, but it's currently taped back together. It's a fun book and the little ones can help read it too with the repetitive "bear snores on".

Still one of my toddler's (22 months) favorite books. Makes a great baby shower gift. My husband is the best at making all of the characters come alive (lots of opportunity to use different voices for each of the characters and to make the bear's sneeze super funny). A must have for any child's library.

This is a beautifully written book! I have purchased this book for so many people! My daughter and my dad both adore it! i believe this will someday be a classic! If you are looking for a great book to add to your library or someone else's, this is the perfect addition!

Great book - we're considering buying some of the other bear books since we like this one so much. Rhymes are great, pictures are good, colorful. Introduces animals other than standard ones (wren, mole, etc). My youngster asks for this book to be read often.

I am a preschool teacher and the "Bear" books are one of my favorite books. However, I was disappointed that it was a board book, meaning small. It was my fault to not realize this. The story is , as usual, very entertaining.

My 3-year old daughter loves this book! The characters are wonderful and the story is so cute. We have all the Bear books. She loves them all and I really don't mind reading them over and over and over. I started buying them more than a year ago and she still loves them. Highly recommend!!!

These bear book from Karma Wilson are some of the best kids books we have. I love that there is actually a story to read instead of those 4 or 5 words per page book. The illustrations are gorgeous and the dialogue has a nice natural rhythm to it as you read it. I started reading these to my girls around 6 months and both of them have loved listening to them. We have the entire collection and now I often give copies out as gifts to expectant friends or first birthdays. The "Bear Snores On" follows bear and his friends as they do all these things around him and he is oblivious and continues to 'snore on'....
