RUSH REVERE AND THE STAR-SPANGLED BANNER - RUSH REVERE AND THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION

My first grader and I are really enjoying these books. He either reads them to me or I read them to him. We literally laugh out loud at that hysterical horse Liberty. My son now plays a game with his little sister called "rushing into history". They yell "rush, rush, rushing into history" and my son calls out a year and a location. They then pretend they are in that time. I am currently playing the role of King George. I highly recommend these books. These books are a great way to teach our kids about American History and they are funny. My son has already told me that he wants to re-read these books every year.

We have been reading this series one chapter every night, to our ten, now eleven year old nightly and have just started the fifth Rush Revere book. She begs for another chapter, laughs heartily at “Liberty” the talking horse and, being a time-travel fan, heartily enjoys every adventure! We highly recommend this series for learning our country’s beginnings, it’s heroes and events, for giving kids an honest and praiseworthy foundation to its history!

Well written, fun and informative. Got the first two ("Brave Pilgrims" & "First Patriots") and read them to my 6 year-old son, and he loved them. He particularly liked Liberty (the time traveling horse with a mind focused mostly on his stomach) and laughed out loud at his goofy wit. The third book (American Revolution) was good, but was missing some of the magic of the first two. I think Rush shared the authorship with his daughter for that one? Still very good, but not the same "voice." My son still loved it and can't wait to start the next one.
