This book started out wonderfully, but at about the middle of the book it got confusing. The story started out as a story about William and Nora. However it jumped to the story of Rowan and his mother and the woman that he was supposed to marry. And then to Bree and that situation with the clans, and her need to do the right thing for the clan. The author also did not put any sort of indication that there was a switch between what character and what story line was going on at the moment. I had to go back several times to make sure that I didn't miss something and read the character's name wrong. All in all it was very rushed at the end and left me confused as to what happened to who. If it had stayed with the original plot and hadn't deviated from that, it would have been a really good book. It could have also been half as long as it ended up being, and much less confusing.

I really like this series. However, I want to shake sense into the heroines.. They do the stupidest things. They somehow think they have the ability to "save" their Highland warriors by sacrificing themselves or reasoning with their nemesis. Too much of that is going on, and I am still reading it. I had to put it down for a while because I was getting angered at their brazen idiocy. They just make matters worse.

I was intrigued from the beginning. The story line and the plot thickened with each chapter. You can't help but fall in love with Wee William and the strong and. Feisty Nora. Deep loyalty and love of family prevails. I found I could not stay away from the next adventure and anticipating the outcome.

Love The Clan MacDougall Men!! All the stories in this series touch the heart; and all provide authentic, albeit somewhat "stretched" liberty of the way of life in this particular date/time in history. Great story line! Have read parts of each story to partner, assuring him that "tis alright to be soft & dearling" even when one is a big and monly mon.....

Tisdale's portrayal of the character Wee William left me with a vision of a giant man with a warm heart, overwhelming strength and a fiercely protective nature. Nora shows an inner strength that matches her new husband - the subservient woman, who had experienced an horrific marriage of abuse from a cruel husband who, through the love and respect of Wee William and support of his clan experiences a new life amongst the Highlanders. She proves to be every bit the Highlanders wife in her new life.

I liked how the characters came together to make a good love story. I like how the author focused on the characters in the story and not the landscape. I read all the books in the series and this one was my favorite.

I thought that the other books in this series were good, but this one is GREAT!!!!! It has some great humorous moments that I had to tell my husband that I was laughing at Wee William. I highly recommend this series. You won't be sorry!!!

Another fast paced episode of honorable and winding plot. This story was awesome. The characters are so real and believable that it's hard to let the story end. I can hardly wait for the next one.
