I could not believe all this individual when through and survived. It kept me capitivated the entire time. I could not put this book down. I love a good read that holds my interest and peaks my curiosity. I could hardly wait to read one chapter and go to the next. I gave up watching television to read this novel. The only other times I was so engrossed in a book was when I read "A Time To Kill" by John Grisham and "The Help." I talked about this book so much at the office that everyone wanted to read it. I had to start a wait list to pass the book around. Cupcake is a prime example of how one can be whatever they put their mind to. Loved, loved this book.

This book is a VERY EASY read literally, but VERY hard to swallow figuratively! Some of the things that happened to the main character were just so appalling, but you if you stick it out, the message in the end will prevail over all the "roller coaster" of emotions that you will experience!!

What a great story and an extremely compelling read. My only complaint would be the length of the book: 465 pages. The author certainly had a lot to tell but I think it could have been done in a slightly shorter book. About 2/3 of the way through, I started to get a little tired of reading it but I kept going because I wanted to see how it turned out. All in all though, it was a real page-turner and I enjoyed it very much.

The tragic road that is described in this story leaves this book nearly impossible to put down. What a tragic road this woman experienced. It describes the addition of drugs in great detail along with a story that will never be forgotten.

Great story of redemption and forgiveness.....I applaud the author for her transparency and courage to write her story. This is a true American story and the entire world should embrace it. I enjoyed the story so much that I've purchased several books for people that I know will be blessed and encouraged to keep moving forward in life.........

This book, though not all happiness and joy, has become one of my new favorites! It is at times difficult to read, but gives a true insight into the human spirit and what we can do when we turn to God and allow others to help us! I am humbled. Thanks for sharing your story, Cupcake!

If you're considering reading this book, please do! Cupcake's story of struggle with the world's demons versus her personal willpower to become a better woman is gut wrenching at times, but nothing short of simply inspirational. Definitely in my list of top 3 reads.

What a good true story about this strong woman that was thrown into the system of foster care. How heartbreaking for this poor young girl and all she had to endure. She made it though, with flying colors!!! Great read!

This was a required book for my MSW program. Once I started reading, I couldn't stop. I cried and laughed and cried again (tears of joy). I'm so thankful for God revealing himself to "Cup" and all of her accomplishments!

This book is simply amazing and motivating. I'm going through my own healing process right now and trying to make peace with my past. This book definitely gave me hope that anything is possible. You just have to be willing to work hard for it. I recommend this book to everyone!

This book has gave me greater & much more powerful meaning to prayer ! Regardless of what religion you may practice, having faith in a higher power & yourself was always the key to success. From rock bottom, the only direction to go from there is up! Great read!!!

Must read. All teenagers should read this book and some pre-teens. If your child is struggling and cannot find their way. They need to be aware of some of life evil pitfalls but also of God's redeeming Power! In the midst of it all>>>>

Cupcake is a truly gifted writer who reluctantly decided to tell her story. This tale of despair, abuse, neglect, rape and addiction has given me hope....given us hope! Proving it doesn't matter how you started but how you finish. Don't end your life with a question mark when GOD ends it with a period!

This is an absolutly fabulous book that shows you that no matter the depths of our "bottom" in alcohol and/or drug abuse a person can overcome it. Cupcake has done a beautiful job telling of her hellish life growing up, and then her journey into recovery from drug and alcohol abuse. I could not stop reading this book!

This book was so enlightening! It brought you in to the characters. There were times I thought I was actually there with Cupcake trying to save her, and mad she wouldn't take the help. So happy everything worked out for the best for her. I would definitely recommend this book to all young girls needing guidance!!!

I read prior reviews and some thought it was poorly written, or that the author 'tried to hard' to get in the third party character. I disagree - I felt she was trying to pull us into the story. Hard to believe anyone can endure so much as a child and have a positive outcome as an adult.
