Stephanie is every gals want to be. Once you finish "One for the Money" you are captivated. By the moment you are on 3 you are searching the web for a deal on all the others. Janet Evanowich knows how to grasp your curiosity. Each character has your attention. I finally got to the point I read a book a night. A few books the story line wasn't there for me but just the characters themselves were worth reading the book. Let's dream on for Stephanie. I do not know anyone who could put down any of the books.

Give me a second to catch my breath... laughing this hard really takes it out of me! This series is by far the funniest thing I have come across in a long time. Stephanie Plum is a bond enforcement officer of the worst kind, but she is like a dog with a bone and refuses to give up when saner people, especially women, would. Then there are the men in her life... (pause for a second of deep breathing and to let me fan my self!!). And don't EVEN get me started on her insane family. They make me realize that, after all, my family members aren't nearly as crazy and embarrasing as they could be. (Has anyone checked Grandma Mazur's purse lately to see if she's packing?)
I would suggest starting with book one and buying all of the rest of the series that are available to have on hand, because once you've started reading, you will be desperate to start the next one, and who wants to waste the time waiting for the darned things to be delivered!!

One for the Money is a great read. Lots of fun, witty. Two for the Dough is laced with this wicked social commentary -- gross generalizations about the "ghetto" (although she never describes who lives there), commentary about two parent households shipping their kids and their responsibility for those kids off to childcare, a family who "sold out" and sold their house to a (gasp!) black family, which inevitably meant neighborhood decline (actually that last comment was in the first book). I'm not sure if this is the author's voice popping through, or just the character meeting my expectation of a person from a neighborhood such as the burg, but these road bumps are making it hard to read. All of this adds up to an increasingly bad taste in my mouth about wasting my time reading about a character who is so amazingly provincial in such an urban area. So despite the sold out comment in the first book (and the big bad hispanic men -- they were both larger than life and intimidating, one of them physically threatening), I felt engaged in the plot. The second feels rushed and choppy, and sub par, and that's without what I would deem unnecessary commentary. The jury is still out on whether I'll waste my time with the third.

I have been hooked on these Plum books ever since I bought the first 2 books at a charity book fair my work was having. I have now read through book eight and the first holiday novella "Visions of Sugar Plums." Stephanie Plum is from "the burg" in Trenton, New Jersey. Through desperation she blackmailed her sleazy cousin Vinnie into giving her a job as a bounty hunter. Now that the economy has turned around she could get a job where she wasn't being shot at, but she likes not having to wear pantyhose. If you are looking for a fun adventure with a little bit of romance read the Plum novels.
the store.com is a great place to buy from because you can buy the box set for less than $17 and then if you spend at least $25 you get free shipping.

I have had so much fun with this series of books! I went through 1-8 so fast and I can't wait to find time to read 9-13 (as soon as I find and buy them!). I have had the most fun with these books!!!!!!!! I can picture all the characters and sometimes I wish I were Stephanie, especially when she is with Morelli and Ranger.

All the books in the Stephanie Plum series are hilarious. She is a feminine bounty hunter in a male world. Lots of laughs, sex, and body size jokes. I think Janet Evanovich should have these books made into movies, they are such great quick easy reads that most adult women would enjoy.Plum Boxed Set 2 (4, 5, 6): Contains Four to Score, High Five and Hot Six (Stephanie Plum Novels)Plum Boxed Set 3 (7, 8, 9): Contains Seven Up, Hard Eight and To The Nines (Stephanie Plum Novels)

I actually purchased this Boxed set of 3 for my former wife who loves this series. She reads through them like a knife cutting soft butter and goes into withdrawal when there are none available. The set arrived on her door step in just a few days. She called me right after opening and you'd swear she'd just won the lottery!
Ordering and payment interface was easy to use. Everything worked as advertised.

I found The Nines to be as entertaining and chuckle provoking as all of the books I have read in Janet Evanovich's numbers series. She is an excellent story teller keeping you entertained and interested from beginning to end.
