I am just now getting around to adding my review - I read the book when it first came out as I had it on pre-order and I am trying to catch up. This book has to be the best book of the Sweet series to date and I have them all and have reread them all. I highly recommend this book, the entire series and all of Ms. Bank's books.

Having read all of the "Sweet" series I really looked forward to Cole's story. Yes, ooh, sexy bondage and hot men but you could really get into the characters and laugh and cry along with them. So I kind of wanted to phone the author and ask for a re-write on this one. She has a loyal audience, some great character stock built up already and lots of talent and then....it just fizzled into what felt like a bad idea for a story, some sex scenes (perhaps intended for another book) and a few other stale ideas bound into what should have been a great story about a complex guy. Unlike her previous books I literally found myself turning to the 'juicy parts' which were kind of average and skipped entirely over the 'plot' and 'development'. Literally don't even remember the outcome or didn't care. Sorry, Ms. Banks, I love your work but this felt like a phone-in to capitalize on the franchise.

After anxiously awaiting this release, I was happy with Cole's story. I did not expect it to be intertwined with the other characters as Cole was not part of that circle.

Cole always had a sadness in him as we were exposed to him in the other books, so it was nice to read his story. I felt Ren's conflict regarding the past and the present with regards to the only two men she trusts completely.

I recommend this book because, as usual, Maya Banks weaves a wonderful story and encloses it with steamy sex.

Her passiveness really annoyed me and I think the resulting "relationship" is glorified and far fetched. Not something I imagine being successful in the real world but I guess that's why we read books. . . to escape!

great book! Maya Banks does such a wonderful job of putting emotion into her book. I really felt like i knew what the character was going through, and the scenes are always perfectly described. a great work and amazing read. highly recommended!

I have loved this series and had become intrigued about Cole and the reason for his loneliness. I was eagerly awaiting both his story and the chance to revisit the characters from earlier books in the series. This book was therefore such a disappointment as not only did he get short changed but we were only treated to short glimpses of the other characters. Irrationally, I feel angry on Coles behalf, as he was relegated to a supporting character to the main couple. The character develoment was poor and there was very little storyline, so I dont even feel that I got to know them to a great extent either. The ending just left me irritated, and has tainted my impression about the entire series. It's as if he received sloppy seconds. I honestly wish that I could have the memory of this book removed from my brain so that I could imagine my own HEA for him.

I love this series, and was eagerly awaiting Cole's story. It hated it! Cole's character was vulgar and just plain mean. I love a story with a very dominant, alpha male - but Cole's character just left me cold and oh so disappointed. I have read and re-read the other books in this series MANY times and love them dearly. This book I threw in the trash.

WHAT A LET DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!! How could you do this to Cole and his story. And to even suggest that this wasn't a tie in to the other Sweet books is just stupid. Of course it was. I would have loved Lucas in his own story but not as a hijacker of Cole's story. I felt completely torn up through this whole book and kept praying for the happy ending that never came. There was no feel good at the end for me which makes this story a failure. It's the first time I've hated a Maya Banks book. And Ren is a complete waste of time. Don't know why either one of them could stand her. The whole premise of Cole being so torn up that he hurt her during rough sex so he leaves her just didn't make sense either. These are people in a life style where they spank, tie down, dominate, share etc.. He is so traumatized by hurting her that he actually stays in the life style? Give me a break. Couldn't she come up with anything more than this lame reason for leaving the love of his life behind? Such a waste and terrible ending to a great series.

This book was so good. Not your normal romance book at all. Ever since I read Fifty Shades Of Grey I have not been able to get enough of those kinds of books. I would highly recommend these books, there are 6 books in the Sweet series. All are not stop good books. Hope you enjoy them as much as I did.
