Kylie and Jensen are two tortured souls seeking some comfort, but at what cost? I love Maya Banks and how she turns tragedy to love and triumph. I would have liked to see more of Jensen's background story.

Loved this series, this one was my favorite out of all 3. I liked how it wasn't about s&m. It was different but still very hot. But it was a really good love story. Maya Banks is an amazing author- I've loved everything I've read from her.

I loved this book. Both characters were so well written. Jensen found a special place in my heart as he recognized Kylie's needs and took care of her by putting her needs first. I would highly recommend this book.

Too many repetitions of the same thoughts and same thoughts. At one point, it became tiring to read the thoughts of the persons and then again to read them as they spoke. However, it was a good love story with happy ending.

It's better written than Letting Go, Maya Banks didn't make it as repetitive as the first book in the series and I enjoyed reading it.
I really liked the story and it was very interesting to see how the dynamic between the main characters could evolve from strictly professional to romantic specially because in the first book we have sufficient information to believe they are not only completely different but also that Kylie is actually terrified of men like Jensen (and with a legit reason). Although this is a novel and as such things happen faster than in life, I just felt that Kylie was overcoming her issues waaaay too fast and I just couldn't buy it. In Letting Go and at the beginning of this book Maya Banks made too much emphasis on Kylie's issues and then she just move too quickly.
I still like her stories but I would like to see a new component to her style like a bit of a surprise because although I do enjoy the drama that she always adds, it just seems like she is running a mass production writing business, trying to hit a target of "x" books in a year and quality is better than quantity. I would like to see her creating a stronger yet submissive woman instead of the vulnerable/went through a life changing experience/need above average emotional support and therapy characters she has been focusing on.
That being said I still devour her books and finish them in like 3 days or less but won't be reading again the first two books of this series. Hopefully the last one will be better. If you like D/s novels with a highly dramatic element I would recommend this one, it is very easy to read and even though Jensen and Kylie move too fast, the journey is quite enlightening and I loved seeing how Kylie looked for the strength to leave the demons of her past behind...just don't expect too much (but def better written than that 50 Shades of Grey crap).
