The Culture Map is not only a very informative text, but fun to read, too. I kept finding the examples on the book very reminiscent of what I have found within our own Company. I found the concept of cultural relativity quite interesting. Culture maps seem very useful, too as a tool to understand global teams.

This book is a must-read for absolutely everyone who lives between cultures and especially for those doing business internationally. I have read a small library of cross-cultural books and this is the first one that shows graphs of the dynamics of being part of a multi-national team.
Before you plan your next international meeting, read this book! You'll change the way you present information and save yourself a lot of frustration - not to mention the heightened possibility of success.

I've worked in multiple countries, with employees and managers from a dozen countries. I thought I had a good understanding of cultural differences, but most chapters of this book gave me new perspectives I had never considered.

This book is highly recommended to anybody working frequently with people from other cultures. While most books in this field are theoretical and abstract, Erin Meyer makes the intercultural workplace come to life. Full of real-life examples and lively - often humorous - anecdotes, ’The Culture Map’ becomes an essential tool that can be applied directly in the workplace. A rare combination of well-researched concepts and entertaining storytelling, I highly recommend Erin’s book to any professional dealing with other cultures!

The highest possible rating fits this book, as it is such a practical guide for use in any international business or organization.

Whether you are in business or you have friends from other cultures, pick up this book. With the world becoming smaller and coworkers & business partners coming from different cultures, this book is a great foundation to be able to see from someone else's lens. Culture shapes us more profoundly than I previously realized. It can be subtle in seeing how people interact but can have big implications. Outside of business this book still is needed. I am in a cross cultural marriage. My husband comes from a Chinese culture and I come from a very typical USA culture. Reading this book, we saw that more of our issues in communication and disagreements is heavily influenced by our culture! It was pretty humorous. Erin is a fantastic communicator with great examples in story of the idea she is wishing to convey. Thanks!

Insightful and practical when working in multi cultural environment. There are certain dependency on the context if course, e.g. even within Asian culture the communication between the leader and his team can be very direct. However the overall trending is pretty much in line in my personal interactions with colleagues and clients at my work place. Highly recommended

I am managing a global team of Technical support engineers and this book helps understand the differences between the different cultures. Both for my employees and local managers.
One of the best books I have ever read.

An interesting interface to the Globe Project.

A strongly suggested reading to everybody who has to cope in business as in life, with cultural boundaries.

It is not the pure and only truth, but a really interesting and important contribution.

Great title promises substantive global knowledge. Unfortunately, pretentious authoring and insipid prose leaves readers hungry. Knowing which specialty to order at the author's preferred Parisian restaurant filled the book's minimum page quota at the expense of the global culture map.
Never will I give this author any more of my time or money.
