Not for beginning anglers. This is not an instructional fishing book, this is for intermediate to veteran anglers to pick up tips on a variety of fishing topics. Great book and very interesting to read.

As an experienced UK freshwater fisherman, I found some of the terminology confusing. I bought this book to try and get myself up to speed with USA species and the techniques needed to catch. It didn't fail dismally, but left me with a lot of unanswered questions.

Lots of good, well written material, heavily skewed towards lure and bait fishermen in boats. Still, some fly fishing and you can always learn from other forms. Kindle format is better than average experience.

I enjoyed it very much. I have been finishing for years but still found things I never thought about before. It explains lures rods and reels in detail. Also has a lot of knots and even species of fish.
