The 1st Victim

I agree with the other reviewers. I really feel that I paid for a preview of her new book the "9th Girl" and if I want to finish the story I will need to spend more money. I hate to say this but I feel like the author and the publisher have "ripped" off the consumer. I read a lot of books and as book stores are closing, I purchased my kindle so that I could continue to find books from my list of favored authors. I understand that the publishing industry is struggling and I am trying to support it, but this recent experience leaves me wondering if it is really worth buying books from the author and her publisher (I have bought All of this authors books)

My daughter recommended Tami Hoag. This the first book of hers that I have read. I am disappointed in it. There was no suspense. The plot didn't draw you in. I have ordered one more of her books. I hope that I like it better.

Was wonderful! Suspenseful and definitely a great thriller. I loved the ending! I was befuddled for days until I got the next book in the series, The 9th Girl! You'll be at the edge of your seat!

This was dishonest and deceptive marketing. I was a Tami Hoag fan but no more. Tami Hoag and the store shame on you both! Her books must not be selling well to have to resort to this kind of practice. If you buy this you will have paid for a preview of The 9th Girl! Just look up The Ninth Girl and read about it. I won't be buying the book. The truck driver did it and they catch him....DUH!! Some suspense! Just had my Kindle for 7 months so did not expect such disreputable sale practices. Check everything with a fine toothed comb before any purchase....especially # of pages. the store will not tell you it is a preview, short story, or whatever else you want to call this!

Little more than a short story or novella, this book will leave you feeling cheated and manipulated. Rather than the wonderfully complex Tami Hoag we all love, The 1st Victim is overly simplified and formulaic. A huge disappointment!

The novel I bought ENDED at chapter 15 (there are like 70 some chapters) where the "special preview" began. So, I was basically screwed. Twice. I thought the second time I tried it, it would have been fixed. It wasn't.

I like this authors writing and story lines. What I received with this order was extremely short. I thought I was purchasing a full length novel. What I read seemed more like an excerpt. Maybe I didn't access it correctly! Not sure!
