Great, great, great. I work with clients who deal with a lot of shame (whether or not they are initially aware of it) and I recommend this book. I love John Bradshaw, and would probably recommend anything written by him (although I have not fully read all of his books, yet). He's pretty solid.

This book is a powerful analysis of the sources of toxic shame. No holds barred! After working through the tears and hard stuff, the reader feels a sense of hope and a transformation from victim to victor.

This book has been around for a long time, offering real help to people. The latest revision, which I got, offers a self-help approach that's been modified somewhat as a result of feedback from reader's experiences with the first edition. A sound book when it first came out, it's even better now.

I'd definately recommend this book. It has changed my life and helped me realize the shame I felt wasn't my fault, it was transferred to me as a child. After discovering this, I was able to release the shame and it feels great!

A good preparation preliminary to individual or group therapy. There is no single approach that fits all, but Bradshaw has done an immense amount of work on himself and on developing an understanding of the causes and nature of the emotional wounds left by a "normal" childhood. So few children receive the love and understanding that we all need. The consequences are there for all to see.

The intent was there but the execution was horrible. I have seen John Bradshaw seminars on stage and they were electrifying so naturally I thought he would bring the same energy to the CD but it was a total letdown. I guess he couldn't recreate the same intensity in the studio.

The Cd was actually a DVD but I didn't see the point in it. The visual only showed the list of chapter. That's it. I was expecting a Pdf or something that you could follow along with our some more detail topics. Nothing.

Overall I was no better off at the ending of this long CD/DVD than before when I bough it. All he did was talk about a million type of shame but Zero solutions. I get it that shame is like a tree that has many roots spreading out from the main source but the title said "Healing the Shame" not Listing the shame.

I found this extremely interesting to read. A book to read again. Interesting to see where in ones life. Feelings and responses come from, how we tend to attract those very upsetting circumstances in our lives. Almost on repeat. Until we heal inner wounds can we begin to make more appropriate choices and circumstances that will enhance us not wound our already wounded soul. I loved it for the understanding it gave me. It's important to begin to know oneself.

This book is well written and contains up to date research. It may be difficult to understand if you haven't had any previous exposure to therapy or psychology.

I really love this book. It resonates so well with me - to the point that it could have been written about me! I am an Emotional Freedom Technique Trainer/Practitioner and I tap my way through as I read - have been having the most amazing clearings. I recommend that everyone read this book.
