I liked the historical fiction romance and the setting being out west in Montana. A fancy eastern young lady is stiffled by what her life entails there, so she devised a plan to find her own happiness. Sweet, comfortable, heart-warming love story set in earlier times in our nations expansion era.

This was okay. Writing seemed a bit elementary and dialogue was somewhat stilted. Plot seemed a little choppy; the story just didn't seem to flow smoothly, almost as if the writer was rushing to get through. The second and third books in the series were much the same.
I did appreciate that it was a clean romance, though.

Thank you miss. Linda finally a beautiful series without all the steamy sex I always believed you can convey love and romance without all the sex. Let's face it it all the same after a few books. On the third book in the series and just love them I use to read freshman, Kenyon, sparks but they started making there's with more sex scenes so I have to skip over most,of the books so thanks again I hope other authors will look to your example....bravo. if I wanted to read porn I would buy porn I would thank you thank you I want stories that are stories.........thank you...

I really enjoyed this story. I thought Tessa was very courageous in journeying across the country in search of her dreams. Especially to enter a totally different lifestyle from her early childhood took faith in her own belief that she could accomplish her goals. Just persevere in what you believe and you'll live your dream. I look forward to reading more of Linda Bridey.

I enjoyed ready about Tessa the oldest daughter of an upper class family in Philadelphia. Her parents are spending lots of money on parties to find her the right husband. Tessa is smart, strong willed and wants nothing to do with the life her parents want for her so she makes decisions and planes to go west as a mail order bride without telling anyone. Her romance story once she reaches her destination is delightful. Recommended as fun romance.

The reality of mail order brides has always intrigued me and I've loved every movie I've watched about this. Reading this well written book is now another love. If you enjoy romances that deal with the reality of frontier men and the women they loved and the families they raised this is truly one you must read. If you haven't this is a great one to start with. Enjoy!

The title says clean, it means clean. I knew from the title there would be no spice and sizzle. However, that being said, spice and sizzle does not always have to be hot. The main characters in this book are spicy in a sweet way and do sizzle with a warmth that touches the heart. I really appreciate her putting (clean) as the rating on her books and they are. I can let my imagination go where it wants to go and not have to read cuss words and sex on any of the pages. The characters are well developed and the story is captivating.

A good read, with a message about the importance of how women & men communicate differently . My major criticism is that the dialogue has too many "he said" and "she said" statements. I was listening to the audible version part of the time, and it got very monotonous. Otherwise a very good story!

Interesting read, this book. Tessa is bored silly with all the pomp and balls, her parents can't understand how she can be bored, they only want what's best for her... however, their thoughts don't match her's. She finds an ad in the paper for brides in the west... she decides to answer it. Should she decide to go to Montana to check it out or not. I can NOT wait to read the following books!

ranch but fell in love with Dean's children first and then Dean. All of this without her family knowing. They had to fall in love a behave
properly before they married. I want to read the other books in the series

This mail order bride story is really about communication. Talking out differences can make a marriage work or kill it. Arriving in Montana with only the words on paper, the words written by another man, is not an easy start to a lifetime together. How the main characters work this out is very entertaining.

Love this book. It has everything that I like about a book. There's a strong woman with drive and determination to do her dream without the help of a husband. The characters are well written and carry you along with the story.
I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a strong woman who can find love one more time.

I really like reading westerns being a cow girl at heart. However, adding romance to the western story is like triple fudge icing on a to die for chocolate cake. This is such a sweet story and I highly recommend it to anyone.

Just finished this book the other day, & I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. I thought the story line was great & loved all the characters. I did have one problem with the character of Tessa's dad & thought he just didn't act like a father who had traveled across the country to find his runaway daughter & bring her home. He just sorta stood there, wasn't much to him really. Even being disappointed in his character, I'd still recommend the book to everyone.

I normally don't read historical romance books, but I congratulate the author for doing a great job on writing this story. 2 headstrong people, Dean and Tessa, and making me laugh throughout the book. It was a wonderful read and recommend this to anyone who enjoys a good laugh when reading.

I really enjoyed reading about Tessa and Dean. They were both stubborn, wonderful, kind and very loving.
I want to keep reading this series, they both have families that I am interested in following along with their lives.
Linda Bridey, you've got a winner here.

This book was romantic but honest love the characters. You can almost see the characters , their personalities and the realness of life at that time. Most importantly the communication between family members and what happens when we neglect what needs to be said.

I liked how detailed the life before becoming a mail order bride and then how she adjusted to the new one. I was especially interested in seeing how her parents would react. Nice touch to continue the story.

I have not read anything by this author before. I enjoyed it so much I can't wait to read 2 and 3 to find out about Dean's brothers and Tessa's sisters. It brought out good points about the difference in the needs of men and women which both genders need to learn.

Entertaining romance between two adults. Tessa leaving behind the pressures and expectations of a high society to marry a widower with two children and two brothers on a ranch in Montana. Prime time basis for new tv series on Hallmark.

This was a very wholesome book. No raunchy overdone sex scenes. Still very passionate and compelling. A sweet story about two people overcoming obstacles and finding their way to each other despite their internal struggles. I am definitely interested in the other books in this series.

This was an excellent read. From the problems society placed on women in the 1800s to the problems incurred when couples are not open in their communication with one another. It's too easy to tell someone what you think they want to hear and not be honest with your own feelings. This book displays the problems such behavior creates.

Never a turn of plot. No thought of descriptive passages to make the reader feel the setting. Every pat phrase. Utterly flat writing voice. Pulp to the core

Two stars for decent characterization.

Look elsewhere for an original, quality read.

I enjoyed this story of love, forgiveness and understanding. This was a good story, clean reading but with a little romance and spice. I would recommend and will most likely read the next book in the series even though this one could stand alone with the perfectly written ending.

I chose this story because of a previous review. She was correct in stating how well written the story was and there was no unnecessary sex parts but just a good story by a very talented author. Thank you Linda for such a warm and wonderful story.
