I love this book way too much! Highly recommend. Head strong lead female who is independent and fierce, cheeky flirty werewolf and distant cocky vampire but now she has a new player who is dark and mysterious and sexy asf.

Enjoyed this one better than the first. I was glad with the direction the book went because in the first book I didn't like jaydaen. In my opinion he was undeserving of emma. I look forward to the next book.

Okay here's the short version: I really, really enjoyed this book!

But that's not really a review worth reading, now is it? Okay so why did I enjoy this book so much? For several reasons. First I want to touch on some of the things that others have mentioned negatively in their reviews.

There are several arguments that A is a total stalker, and is creepy, and that Emma really ought to wise up to his "ways" and not fall for him. So, I get that, but I also think that people are lacking some perspective. There are a lot of similarities between Az and Jaeden, and the way that they were drawn to Emma from early on. They also share many of the same alpha male qualities. However, we were introduced to them in completely different ways, and I think it was meant to shape our opinions of each man. We were meant to think they were so different, because it set a tone for what Emma knew and how she felt about it. I don't want to get into too many details here, because I don't want to spoil it for anyone. But yes, they were both total, creeper stalkers. They both wanted her, for a long time before she even knew they existed, and they both meant to claim her. Anyone rooting for Jaeden because they think Az was a creepy stalker, really needs to look at both situations.

Second- Yeah I think we need some closure with Jaeden. But really he's not the one I'm most interested in for a side story. I'm pretty much desperate to see what happens with Lachlan. He's adorable and he's probably one of my favorite characters, and it's not just his awesome brogue. He's just such a genuine soul, a gentle giant, and I want to see his HEA.

Other than that, there were so many amazing elements of this story that I really loved! One I won't go into detail here, but I did email the author to thank her, and that is how Emma deals with extremely difficult situations and emotions. It's written brilliantly, and I think that anyone facing similar situations or recovering from them would probably understand what I'm talking about. Again, don't want to give away spoilers. But it was beautifully, delicately, and wonderfully written, and I'm so grateful it was a deep part of the story.

I have to say that I really think many YA and NA-style dystopian novels skim over the reality of death and other difficult experiences. Many of the stories almost normalize violent deaths that would probably give most people PTSD or some other emotional trauma. I really appreciate when attention to these details is given, because it is SO so so important for the reader to experience the characters' whole heart. Not just what we are shown, but also what should be felt, and shared through to the reader's heart.

LOVED the romance scenes. Again, these were really well-done, and I'm happy with the balance of plot & story to ooh-la-la.

Having read the first two books back-to-back, I have to say that I'm really anticipating the 3rd one, whenever that is!

Also- a huge thank you. I know it says it in the prologue or foreward to the book, but I am just so glad there are no zombies in this book. They are so gross and the whole zombie thing drives me crazy.

It's hard to talk about any character or situation without giving away to much. Why? My mouth would be a broken running faucet with no filter and I'm not mean.
So. Yeah. I have to constantly remind myself that, I finished book 2 and now I must wait.
Whatever will i do?!? Ugh. The agony?

I know othets have complained about the direction this book went with the characters, but I loved it. It made me want to scream and cry at times, which to me shows signs of a good author. Life is full of heartache and change and Amelia does an awesome job bringing this into her writing.

Awesome.OMG - I LOVE IT. Finally, the second book is here. Amelia did her best work with this.It is heartbreaking and heartwarming. As Emma is continuing her mission to find her brother, Grayson, I was certain that Jaeden will be the one to help her all the way. But it turns out that Jaeden is not free to be close to Emma and he is not standing up for her. However, here comes another Sentinel.
He is like Emma. I LOVE ASRAEL, I love their chemistry. At first Emma hates him because she is still in love with Jaeden. Jaeden comes across indifferent. And I hated that he had other women to fed from.
Asrael is devoted to Emma. She is Life and he is Death. She was made for him. Emma falling in love with Asrael, makes for a beautiful love story. When he is hurt protecting Emma and she thought he is dead, I cried too. But he comes back to life for her. And I had more tears for Grayson. In all that chaos,Emma has Asrael and I am happy.
Cannot wait for the next book. Knowing Amelia - is going to blow your mind.

Ahhh...Death Before Dawn. I have been counting down until this book was released. Amelia Hutchins made the wait (almost) worth it. I devoured this book and now want to know what's next. I love how Amelia writes such strong female characters. Emma is just like that one song...she gets knocked down, but gets up again 'cause you never gonna keep her down. There are parts where your heart breaks, but happy parts as well. I like knowing that Emma's journey isn't over, rather it is just beginning. Now for the next book...

I am a new fan of Amelia's and highly reccomend her Destiny series. Basically, anything written by Amelia Hutchins. She is so talented that I am going to attend a book signing. Never before has a author connected to me so deeply that I felt the strong desire to meet them. If you are looking for a new author that writes great sex scenes, shows raw emotion, has strong female characters, then choose any of Amelia's books. She is AMAZING!!

Geez freaking amaze balls! I've waiting to read DBD 2 because I was scared of all the comments! I need not be cause our Queen has delivered once again! Why oh why did I doubt! I freaking love Azrael!!!! I hate to say this but that was well worth the long wait. As we wait for every single word of Amelia Hutchins to devour in the future it is worth it every time. Holy hell Im sure this series is on the back burner for now cause there is so much more to come w the other series and spin offs, but I can't wait to see what happens next with Emma & Azrael! Thank you so much Amelia for putting everything you have into your stories and the time you take to give us readers the best! Reader in my for life!

Dark apocalyptic novel. Emma finds her powers coming in, and meets her soulmate, and it isn't Jaedon. Continuing her search for her brother , Grayson, the group leaves the ark. Hidden agendas, revelations, horror aspects. I needed a little levity with so much darkness, and there wasn't any. The author has a deft hand with erotica, and she didn't disappoint. I find I like her other novels, rather than this storyline.
