This is an amazing book series and I can't stop reading the other books that come out by Rick Riordan. When I got the set and looked through the books, I noticed that the Son of Neptune pages were upside down and backwards. When you opened to the front page, you saw the last page of the book upside down. When you looked at the back of the book, you saw the front page of the book upside down. I'm not complaining at all because that means that there were probably only a couple thousand made that way. I have a rare Percy Jackson book!!!!! Now whenever I go read it in public it will look weird, but I don't care.

Just got it, in perfect condition, and I must say these books are gorgeous! I am so rereading the first two before beginning Mark of Athena, the ebook format just doesn't do it for me. From what I hear even though most of this fandom would like to catch Rick and tie him down for questioning and explanation of the 'feels' he gnawed at with all the anticipation and deaths, they'd still give him hugs for just existing. Again, excellent covers, John Rocco.

Coming from a 13 YEAR OLD~!

This book series is and is not like "Percy Jackson and the Olympians".

Like : Humor , quirky characters , awesome quests , action-packed.
Different: Darker plot , more characters , a lot of point of views , bigger size , bigger quests!

I would say "The Heroes of Olympus" series is wonderful , but not as good as, "Percy Jackson and the Olympians."

[ Ranking in 1 to 10 scale]
The Lost Hero : [Score :9.0 ] Percy is not in it . Some characters annoy me sometimes (Jason). Love Leo btw! Great first book!
The Son of Neptune : [Score:9.3] Percy's comeback = awesome! Loved Frank's story and Hazel's power! A sequel that's better than the 1st book!
The Mark of Athena: [Score:9.5] An improvement. Better plot and character development! Digs more into a darker plot and BIGGER quests~ :)
The House of Hades: [ Score:10] Better quest , character development , better battles! Better EVERYTHING! The best book so far in the series.
The Blood of Olympus: [ Score:8.4] Percy was useless. The battles were anticlimactic and felt rushed. Frank's wooden stick gone. Percy's fatal flaw
gone. The point of views were awful. [GOOD] Leo saved this book. Better relationship with Leo and Percy. Reyna's back story was on point. Like that Coach Hedge had character development. Love seeing old characters again. A bad book by Rick Riordan , an ok book overall

The fifth book in this series was terribly misprinted from page 150. It skipped from page 150 to page 247, then back to page 183 after page 277. Chapters listed as XXV to XXVIII are not right. And then when you get to the "real" pages again, it skips from Chapter XXIX back to XIX. Terribly misprinted/mis-published. Unfortunately, it was many months after original purchase before my son was reading the final and fifth book in this boxed set, so we didn't know about the error until much later. So, no recourse to fix other than buy another book. Beware potential printing error.

These are great. My 12 yr. old daughter loves these books. Great Christmas present for her, even though she's RE-reading them. It's nice to hear her giggling as she reads :). It did arrive with a torn package, but the store was awesome about sending me a replacement in one day, in time for Christmas :).

I got this because I wanted all the books plus the last and final one. This is an amazing storyline. I look forward to being able to reread it easily. I own them all as PDF books. I like having paper books better. I am so very happy to own this.

Was disappointed the box the hard cover books were displayed in was torn. So because it was a gift wasn't really appealing. But I was impressed with the Time it took to receive, and the books themselves are good.

The binding is terrible. This is second one my daughter has had, and the binding came undone at the bottom on both, leaving it unusable. In addition, markers leak through to the following page. I would not recommend this product.

This is a brilliant continuation into the Percy Jackson universe. I'll post reviews for the individual books in their respective locations. This review is for the box set itself. It. Is. BEAUTIFUL. The cover art is wonderful, and even without the dust jackets, the bare books are just gorgeous. The hardback books are standing up a lot better to our nightly family reading session than paperbacks were. The box that houses all of the books is made from a good quality cardboard that I think will stand up well to my son frequently placing books in and out. After seeing this, I am sorely tempted to order the Percy Jackson set in hardcover as well.

I got this set for my 10 year old son and he LOVED it! Great books that tell a great story. He loved following the Heroes on their journey. The set came in a very sturdy box that he has on his bookshelf now so he can keep them together. Thumbs up!

Check to make sure got all the books. I missed my return window. Bought them as a gift for my daughter's birthday. Went to wrap them and realized Book 1 was missing. Two Book 2s instead. Didn't realize until 3 days after the return window was over.

As an adult, reading "juvenile" books comes with a certain stigma. But, having read every Percy Jackson book released to date, I loved watching him grow from a misunderstood adolescent to a confident leader. When I first started reading the original series, which I picked up entirely because of the authors last name (Riordan is my son's first name), I expected a campy ripoff of the Harry Potter series. Instead, I found witty dialog, funny, yet insightful inner monologue, and young adults struggling to make wise choices in an ever shifting world. This book series introduces five new characters to accompany Percy and Annabeth, from the first Percy Jackson series, on their separate adventures, and each one exhibits individual strengths and weaknesses that come together in harmonious balance. Without even just one character, their main quest would be doomed to failure. Clear your calendar before you start reading, because once you start you are not going to want to stop.

WOW! You get your money's worth with this set. The books are bigger than I expected. They are full volumes, with lots of reading entertainment. My daughter had a hard time getting through the first one because Percy is not in it. But she plowed on and was rewarded in the second book with her favorite character reappearing.

Ahhh I'm super excited to tear through these books! Loved the first installment so I'm going to get all of my work done so I can read without interruptions. Thankfully my package didn't come dented and everything was in crisp clean condition :>

At first when I sat down to the read the first book, I immediately thought, "Time to ditch." It was awful. No Percy! One scene of Annabeth and some other dude we had never heard about. Yet, I didn't ditch. By the end of the first book, I thought it was okay.
Second book: Just like the first book. Pretty bad. Percy was in it, but...I don't want to spoil it. It was okay. You meet new people, people you all grow to to like...but again, no spoilers. It was fine.
Third book: I was intrigued. It was amazing. Somehow he took the bad first two books and made it into something amazing. You forget you are on the couch, at work, at school, at the library, on the subway or bus. You don't see the words on the page. You see the wonderful world Rick Riordan is painting for us. The world where Gods exist, and there are unbelievably brave souls. It was the same for the rest of the books.
Here is what I am getting at: at first you may want to ditch. 2 bad books. Okay. But don't do it. You will get intrigued. I promise you. Don't ditch it. You will get so mad at yourself if you miss out on the amazing world of 7 amazing characters. Don't ditch. Trust me. You will want to. But don't.

Run, don't walk to get your young reader this series. These books have hooked my 9 year old son. He really took off with Harry Potter. When he was done with those books I was looking for a new series for him to take on and was told Percy Jackson. Well, as it turns out, these aren't the Percy Jackson books but in the same family. Since reading these he has added 10 more Rick Riordan books to his collection in a matter if 3 months or so. Rick Riodan is my literary hero.

The series itself is amazing, as is Percy Jackson, however 30 pages in the middle of book 3 are cut short. Not something you realize for a while after your purchase. The second book had a page with extra length to it, and I noticed several grammatical errors and extra words in the series when reading to my son. Editing and quality control sub par.

4.4 stars!
Another great series by Rick Riordan! A great plot where Greek and Roman mythology intertwine. I loved the strong new characters as well as the familiar characters from the Percy Jackson series. The stories are told from each characters point of view which I thought was great and much more easier to understand what the characters are feeling. An unforgettable journey filled with action, romance and adventure that is definitely for fans of Rick Riordan.

I have only read the first 4 (so far) and they are amazing i will spend hours just reading the books. i would recommend this book to anyone who likes action, adventure, and mystery. and of coarse a little romance here i mean there ages 14-17 what did you think would happen. must read but be sure to at least read the five books before these ( lighting thief, sea of monsters, titans curse, battle of the labyrinth, and the last Olympian) but just remember when you finish those books you can pretend it is happily ever after and ends there but it is only the begging it was all part of the plan....

I enjoyed reading this series. I think that it is very interesting. It goes like this:

Jason wakes up to find himself in a strange place, and he isn't the only one. Percy Jackson (Ever heard of him?) awakes in camp Jupiter, a roman camp for half bloods, even though he is greek. Jason finds himself in camp half blood, a greek camp for half bloods, even though he is roman.

And that is not the worst. Gaea is arising. An army of giants causes chaos in both camps. Can a team of just seven half bloods defeat her whole army?

Meantime, Octavian causes both camps to attack eachother. In their darkest hour, can the Nico, Reyna, and Coach Hedge get this huge Athena statue to camp half blood to restore peace?

To find out, read this trilling, accion packed series! (Trust me, it is amazing.) Congratulations Rick Roirdan, you have truly outdone yourself!!!

Great set! I've read this myself and I thought that my little sister would like this as well. Rick Riordan perfectly balances his serious story line with humor and i think that's what drew me into loving this series. I gave this to my sister and she immediately started reading this. It's only been a week since I gave this to her and I think she's halfway through the entire series already.

I love the "Heroes of Olympus" series and the "Percy Jackson" series. I hadn't read these before because I expected some cheesy knockoff of Percy Jackson, but after starting this series I couldn't stop! I recommend this book for kids 9 and up. I LOVE THESE BOOKS!!!

Long story short, I couldn't put the book down and read the first and sexond series in two weeks. If you are a big fan of greek and roman mythology, then this is the perfect series for you.

My friend suggested it, and i immediately fell in love with the series. It didn't take me long to finish Percy Jackson and The Olympians and The Hero's of Olympus series. Ever since I started reading it, I became obsessed with it and everything us decorated like it. If you havent read it, you NEED to! Hope this is helpful to any who are considering these books!

My 9 year old read and loved the Percy Jackson series. I then read it b/c he wanted to talk about it all the time! We immediately moved into the Olympus series- it's fun to continue with the characters and still meet new ones, but in my opinion, it's a bit predictable. My son has still loved it. My disclaimer as a parent- the characters are older in this series. I read ahead and talked to my son about a few of the relationships and the predicaments the characters faced (especially in books 4 and 5). It's sometimes hard to find books that are age appropriate, yet still challenging and interesting for my advanced reader.

Books were in EXCELLENT condition when they arrived. No tears in or outside the books and packaging. Delivered quickly and without hassle. As for the book themselves...they are excellent and some Riordans best work!

My son finally has gotten to the last book, "The Blood of Olympus" and after page 150, it jumps to page 247! How can I get another copy of just this book out of the set? Very disappointing for my son.

I didn't like this series too much because if you read the first books you'll understand why. Let's start at the very beginning. The series did an interesting opening starting with Jason and his friends which I found amusing. As the series went on I started to notice that Rick Riordan tried to incorporate some of the old humor from the old books to the new books which I didn't mind but almost resembled too much of the first series. Still with me so far? My favorite character Percy Jackson seems weak for some odd reason as the story progresses and loses some of his cool. Jason and the others I didn't care too much for. It was like making side characters trying to fit in as the main character all at once which didn't work for me. I wouldn't care if one was just chosen but this back and for business didn't do to well for me. Sigh. As for defeating the main villain I think we all expected her to go down due to some fatal blow but the way they defeated her I thought I was reading a bad joke and was waiting for the revised. Didn't happen sorry folks that's how they defeated her. :(. Pathetic. Nico I loved this character alot in the first series but making him fall in love with Percy? Are you kidding me? I understand we live in the modern world but couldn't he fallen love with oh let me think oh yeah a girl? Come on people you must be kidding me that you wanted the main character to have a boy lover. Whatever. Do what you like but if these stars could go down to just none I would be so happy to present that with this series.
