The best captivating read ever! The last page left me wanting more. I could accomplish nothing until I finished. I just couldn't put this book down. Now it's being passed around at work and the neighborhood!

Let me begin by saying that I love Nelson DeMille's books and that I didn't see the movie based on this book. The General's Daughter was absolutely amazing! It seemed simple enough, a woman Army officer was found dead on base in such a way that it was assumed she had been raped. The story unfolded like a rose and I couldn't put it down until I finished the book. I have enjoyed the John Corey books but Paul Brenner is just as likable, entertaining and intelligent as Corey. I recommend that readers buy this book and read it back-to-back with Up Country, the next John Brenner book. The psychological element of this murder and the murder victim's life held me in rapt attention.

This story was fast paced and a great read.  All the characters were flawed and through each one you see what lies within the darkest part of the human mind and heart and its consequences.    Brenner is very likeable and his sarcastic wit shines through.

The book was in excellent condition when it arrived, not that I had doubts. I am a DeMille fan and would purchase his or any other books through the store because they are all I hope for at a sensible price and they ship in a very timely manner. Customer Service is excellent.

Nelson DeMille is one of my favorite authors and I have loved each one. Nelson developes the characters so you can feel their emotions, you feel like you are on the scene and viewing it first hand. Great, Great Author.

The first in a series featuring Paul Brenner as the main character. Like all DeMille characters, he is smart, witty and reckless. You will want to read Up Country when you finish The General's Daughter.

The subject matter could have been sleazy, but de Mille handled it with care. There was a touch of humour giving the protagonist Brenner, a more rounded personality. I found the difference between military justice and civilian justice very interesting - with a spin to protect military reputation at the heart of the plot.
