There is not one like able character in this book. Such slow pacing. The mother "Jenny" is annoying as is the rest of the characters. Will never read a book by this author again. This is only my second time ever reviewing a book but this was too painful to not say something about.

I wished that there was more content and less description. I also did not like going back and forth with dates/time. That is more difficult on a kindle--going back and forth to review where I am in the story.

Beautifully written book about a family. The book explores the relationship between a teenager and her family. We think we know everything about the people we live with but in reality everyone has their secrets.

I really wanted to like this book, it was recommended to me as a similar book to Gone Girl/Girl on a Train/Luckiest Girl Alive. While the book did have some interesting twists and turns, I ultimately ended up frustrated with the narrator. She was so detached and ridiculous. She annoyed me and I couldn't empathize with her. A lot of the plot around the daughter started to feel really contrived and ridiculous, like they were trying to go for a Laura Palmer on Twin Peaks thing, but failing miserably. It just became completely ridiculous how many "things" the daughter was involved in - not sure how she even had time to pursue all of these activities? The ending annoyed the heck out of me too, so that was hard to get over.

This could have been an excellent story. The jumping and skipping from one place in time to another was confusing. I enjoy a wordy, descriptive story. However, there was too much description creating confusion and causing the story to lag. I could not read the book in the evening, because it moved too slow and made me sleep ! I wish the author would have spent more time on the story and less time on describing every little nuance .

An intriguing tale of a daughter that goes missing after not returning home one night from a school play she was the lead in. Told from before the event, immediately after the event, and then a year or more after the event. Kept me wondering what happened to the young girl, especially since it is every parent's nightmare of their child gone missing or their child dying before them. Hoping for the best and wondering if the young daughter is ever found, dead or alive, had me riveted to the book. The end played a lot on my emotions and had me thinking for days after finishing the book. Highly recommended.

There are too many questionable unanswered. Also, there are too many characters to keep up with. Useless characters that mean absolutely nothing to the story. Also, I do not like the way 1 chapter was in the present and the next in the future. It took away a lot from the story.
