Stephanie Lauren's is by far my favorite author. I eagerly await each new release. I thought this book was bland, just didn't turn into a page turner for me. I still enjoyed it but wouldn't rate it as one of her best.

I love Stephanie Laurens! I loved the first half of this book and thought a great thing was going here although I did smile a few times at some of the strange words she used to describe things. Then the book turned into lots and lots talking, thinking and not much action at all. I couldn't believe I finally began skimming, and even skipping, pages through the last third of the book to get through it. I will certainly continue to read Miss Laurens and hope for more the next time.

Good Plot. Interesting characters. Stories of the Cynster family just keep on coming as they are some of the best I have read on romance. A determined woman against a confident man makes for interesting reading.
An Irresistible Alliance (Cynsters Next Generation) (Volume 5) :: The Curious Case of Lady Latimer's Shoes :: A Buccaneer at Heart (The Adventurers Quartet Book 2) :: A Match for Marcus Cynster (Cynsters Next Generation Series Book 3) :: Lord of the Privateers (The Adventurers Quartet)

Stephanie Lauren's original Cynster novel was the best in her entire Cynster series. I read a sample of the beginning of this novel and on impulse and due to lack of new novels to read, I purchased the book. It was so boring and the plot was repetitive. If you have read one Cynster novel you have read them all. The author can obviously write well but seems to recycle her plot lines continuously - for example, (to use her own adjectives) "possessive, protective male is determined to wed independent female who needs convincing". I flipped through the book skimming it (something I never do since I love to read and hate to skip to the end) and read the contrived ending. This book was so mind-numbingly boring that I regretted wasting time skimming it. I wish I had spent my money on a book by another author.

Those who have followed the Cynster series will be excited to have a new story out. I loved it. I agree it was pretty long and could have been a little shorter, but what do you want in a book? Nothing pleases me more than to snuggle in with a nice long story, especially when it involves some of my favorite characters. And if some of it didn't move along fast, the ending was well worth the wait. I love the Cynsters so much that the ending brought tears to my eyes. Will there be more? I sure hope so!

I loved this book! However, that said, you need to be a longtime fan of the Cynsters and Stephanie Laurens writing style to enjoy it. Her characters are very strong, detailed and so is the history. For me, this book was an awesome conclusion to the Cynster series, not that we've seen the last of them. I love that about Stephanie's books...that she uses familiar characters from other books. I'm looking very forward to her next book with Barnaby Adair, another known character.

After following this series I've been waiting for each book as they come out. This is a fantastic book to loose yourself in. Stephanie Laurens takes you there and your living each chapter as its happens.

i just finished the latest Cynster novel and thought Ms. Laurens did her usual great job. I particularly enjoyed the ending of this story where she has given us an update of the lives and times of previous Cynster heros and heroines.

Having read every Cynster story, I must say this book does not disappoint. Another great story. I don't know if this is the end of the Cynster storyline, if it is, it ended on a wonderful note. Thank You Stephanie for your great gift of storytelling.

No strong plot. Lots of novel language usage. Him to her? Now, what does that mean? Is it supposed to mean anything or are we just padding the book between sex scenes. Shattering. I enjoyed her four Bride book, which at least, had an exciting plot. This book is a rip off...perhaps her secretary wrote it? Or her dog? Or cat? Shattered.

I have always found the books in the Cynster series enjoyable to read. However, with each new book from Stephanie Laurens it seems as if her characters have become caricatures of what a "Cynster" should be. Ryder and Mary seemed more like puppets with all of the proper traits of scions of great families than real characters that the reader cares about exploring. I had a hard time finishing this book and found it to be stale and rather exhausting to read and to finish.

This was not a good ending to the Cynster series. It went on forever with a very shallow story line. The sexual encounters were over done and became dull. I began skipping to the end. You could tell from the very beginning of the book who the villain was so it was very long coming to get to the point when this villain is revealed. I also expected a better ending but was disappointed with it also. Stephanie Laurens is a better author than this.
