I bought the original Babywise book before my daughter was born and it worked like a charm. However, this book is a lot less in-depth than the first one. I wish it talked more about different nap and sleeping styles. It assumes that just because you followed the first book your babies naps will automatically fall into a certain pattern. Not the case for my baby. She really is a fabulous sleeper and slept thru the night since 2 months old (11pm to 7am). However, now that she is getting to bed earlier (around 8pm) she wakes up playing in her crib around 3 or 4am, then again around 5am. She also takes a really long morning nap and a short afternoon and dinnertime nap. My point is, the book doesn't address that so it's really not helping me much.

I found this book very helpful. Great guideline for a first time parent who doesn't know when to start solids, what to try first, etc. I purchased the first baby wise book, this one, and I'm about to buy the third. I pass it around to all my friends.

Thank goodness for this book! It and the first babyw is book have saved us time and time again when looking for advice! If you're looking for advice this is a great choice! The chapters are well labeled for easy guidance around the book and it's a very easy read.

Not as much practical guidance as Baby Wise, Book One, but handy to have on the shelf anyways. I find myself referencing Dr. Weisbluth's 'Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child' more often in this phase (LO is 6mos).

I have seen children raised by the principles given in this book and others in the series. The kids are a joy to be around with their full personality and potential, while at the same time respectful and obedient. I buy it now as gifts for new parents.

Great book, but as with everything you have to make it your own. I read it, and found a lot of good pointers and suggestions. With the first Baby Wise I tried to follow step by step every single word, and almost went crazy! Not every child is the same, not everything will go according to the book. After I learned that the hard way, we have established a good rhythm and schedule with the help of both books. This book helps you understand the changes and advances your baby is going through and helps you maintain some kind of rhythm (it wont be perfect, so relax). Other book I use with the Baby Wise collection is Wonder Weeks to help me understand my baby further more and not feel so lost at times. Hope it helps!

I read the first baby wise and found it profoundly helpful. I wish this was included it the first book, because I had no idea how fast our little one would grow and change. This book read more like an annex to the first set. I didn't gain as much knowledge
, so maybe we just are baby wise?

Still provides good info, just like BW 1; however, some of the sections are repeated from BW 1 which I found super annoying. I really feel like all of this could have been in one book and the authors are just trying to make a little extra money by splitting in to 2.

Not nearly as helpful as the first babywise book. Our doctor actually told us that we were feeding him far too much oatmeal based on the book's guidelines. The first Babywise book, AMAZING. This one, not so much.

The entire series is excellent. They have a way of reminding us that God put parents in charge, not children. These books teach parents how to lovingly lead your children from the youngest ages. Consistency is the key. If you are not consistent then this wont work for you. Parents train themselves as they train their children. And God is so good to give us teachers to help us gently teach our kids to obey from the earliest ages. I am so thankful God provided the Ezzos. I will say that I don't always agree with everything they teach but that is OK. The majority is absolutely excellent. This series paired with 'Shepherding a Child's Heart' great parenting pack.

There were definitely some really helpful sections in this book. But I honestly expected more from it. If you already a BW parent and have read book 1 it really doesn't add much. Most helpful bits were on discipline and baby sign. And if your doing traditional weaning you'd probably find that section helpful as well (we do Baby Led Weaning so I skimmed that section).

PLEASE DO NOT BUY! This book is detrimental to your child's development. Babywise advice linked to dehydration, failure to thrive. You could be starving your child, and lead to serious health complications and even death. Please buy another book, like anything from Harvey Karp.
