The cover says "for young readers" but ... so what? Who's to say a grown up shouldn't be intrigued by a plot with children exploring an old house, finding old books that lead them to mysteries and faeries? Well, I did like it and I do recommend the series for people with like taste.

All 5 books packed into one. Talk about convenient!! However, if this purchase is for a little person, which this originally was, its not a good idea. Although all 5 books are in one, in their eyes its way to large and very intimidating. I however very much enjoyed it :)

Great books. I have read all 5 books to recommend to the students at the Middle School library where I work. I couldn't put them down. I bought these books so my children could read them also (they're always out at the Library!). They enjoyed them very much. Very fast reading even for a reluctant reader like my son. I highly recommend them.

Despite being composed of multiple "books", each book is really just a fraction of the story. If Harry Potter was written this way, there would be easily 3 dozen Harry Potter books because Book 1 would abruptly end when Harry meets Hagrid for the first time, if not sooner. It feels like a money grab to me.

As for the content - It's a good story and my son enjoyed it, but if you were expecting to get multiple books set in the same universe you will be disappointed.

I encourage reading and when my grandchildren mention a book they want to read, I get it for them.
We had the movie "Spiderwick Chrinicles" and they really enjoyed it.

So far, I believe my grandson loves the books and is asking for others like it.

Bought this as a present for my nephew because he likes to read. It was at a great price and the books was of good quality. Would recommend buying these books for any child that likes to read. Fast shipment also from the supplier.

I bought this set for my son, who originally owned just one of these books - he loved it so much I bought the set. He is 11 and thoroughly enjoying them (they are a good, well-written yet easy read) and the value of the boxed set was much better than buying them one at a time.

I searched this product at local book retailers and have discovered that the price of this collection of books was $50! After I saw it here on the store (for this awsome low price), it was a no brainer to purchase it here. Items were wrapped and product was new! Can't complain one bit!!!

The entire inside front cover was drawn on in ink by a previous owner. I think the seller should have mentioned that fact. This was a gift to my eight year old grandson who noticed it right away and wondered if I knew about it. Of course, I didn't. I'll be careful about buying from this seller again.

What a wonderful set of books. Each book was very well written for children..... even grandparents that like to read to the younger ones. I even found myself being drawn into the world of the spiderwick community. Will the series continue......

I purchased the Spiderwick Chronicles, Books 1-5, unabridged on 5 compact discs. We had seen the movie and I wanted to read the books. My husband and I listened to the CDs in the car on a weekend road trip and they were delightful. We thoroughly enjoyed Mark Hamill's narration.

My 11 year old grandaughter literally jumped for joy when she opened this Christmas gift. It was high on her wish list and she couldn't wait to start reading it. Anything that brings that much joy and excitement to her is a winner with me.

I was interested to read these books, based on the reviews I read. I ordered the five volume set of the first five books, thinking I'd be able to settle in and read for a good long time. It was disappointing to receive a set of five tiny books, each containing one scant chapter. At a cost of over $5.00 each, this could be the most expensive children's book ever, once you read all the different volumes. So, not much of a story, and a rip-off if you look at value, which you should certainly look at. One of the many satisfying things about the Harry Potter books is that they are full books, some quite long, and very engrossing, even as a re-read.
