That Night: A Novel

This is such a typical "murder mystery" book. All of the characters cliché, the main character is just stupid and unlikeable and everything that happens is so unbelievable. I also knew immediately how it was going to end so there was no point in even finishing. You really think 2 people are going to go away for murder on such a circumstantial case?? No evidence but a few eye witnesses that claim to have been far away from the scene? Did they see shadows? It's just all so dumb.

She's not a bad writer but her stories just plain suck. I LOVED Still Missing - it was SO good and thoughtful. Such a surprise ending and the book itself was such a breath of fresh air - different than most psychological thrillers. Chevy Stevens should have stopped there - Never Knowing was just ok and Always Watching was AWFUL. But since I liked her first novel so much I thought I would give her another try. Aren't writers supposed to get better?? It seems as though she has gotten worse. Maybe she is trying to rush through novels after her first was such a hit? I don't know but I've retired her from my library.

you write amazing books.. i love how intense and you cant stop reading because you want to know who did it. if you want a good thriller read her books. its not slow and it keeps you wondering whats going to happen next.
