I started reading the Xanth series from Piers Anthony in seventh grade and frankly I hated reading but you know... if you want to pass you have to get major things done like BOOK REPORTS!!! yeah... I went to the library and this book caught my eye... i looked at the thing inside that tells what order the books go in but the first two books weren't there... so i got this one and i read till my eyes were about to burst. I STRONGLY recomend ANYTHING from this author especially the Xanth Series. great story lines and fun little puns. Ogre, Ogre was probably my favorite. After reading this book I read the first two... (A Spell For Chameleon and The Source Of Magic) and they seemed a little draggy... but still great books... YOU SHOULD DEFINATELY CHECK THESE BOOKS OUT!!!!!!!!!! they are the only books i'll read...(less i have to read something else for school). lol. Well... that's all i can say to convince you to check these books out... they are awesome.

I wrote in my review of a spell for chameleon that I didn't like the Bink name. Now we have more of the same old stuff about weird names. Dor? Roogna? What ever happened to Dave or Mike. Other than that the book was pretty good. It tells of a young prince's adventures in a tapestry. How this can happen in a tapestry is beyond me. Magic I guess. The main character he meets up with is a smart talking spider. He has many adventures and comes of age while helping to save the kingdom. This book impressively deals with many adolescent problems and is very exciting. This novel makes you remember what it was like back when you were growing up. I know I will never look at spiders the same way again. And dcn't be so quick to kill those flee's in your hair. This book is head and shoulders (no pun intended) above the rest of the fantasy genra.

This book is well worth reading, although it isn't the best book in the Xanth series. Like "A Spell for Chameleon" and "The Source of Magic", the plot zips from one action-filled adventure to the next, and there's plenty of light-hearted humor. However, some of the jokes and puns start to feel a little bit flat, and the 'surprise ending' really isn't much of a surprise.

Zombie masters have no mates.
Thanks to the demon Xanth, Bink's descendants will get to be magicians. His son is able to get himsel involved in adventures just like his dad, this one involving spidermen, barbarians, a girl with sex magic, a harpy-goblin war, zombies and brain coral. Enough to keep you entertained.

This is one of the very good books in the Xanth series. It is one of the 6 or so books in the series that comes close to capturing the plot and writting of the first book. This book jumps straight into action. And we get a history lesson of Castle Roogna. The book is filled with suspense and irony.

I found this book thoroughly entertaining, and I think this is one of Anthony's better works. He is a more gifted writer than most people give him credit for being. If you like this one, try Dragon's Gold.

Like all the other Xanth books, it was very very good. I personally liked the first ones better because they started off better. After you get farther into this book, Anthony really develops these characters and makes you really love the duo. I highly recommend it, but you should read the Xanth series in order.

Castle Roogna is the story of how Dor went back in time, about 800 years, and looked for the Zombie Master. He did this because King Trent told him to, and because he wanted to do something for Millie. But when he went back in time, via the tapestry, he found himself in this big barbarian body, with that same Millie, whose talent is Sex Appeal, trying for his attention. Overall, this book is great.

This, like all of the Xanth "trilogy", has a special place in my heart. This book gives you a great insight to the side of a story you never thought you'd see... the spider on the wall. Through the adventures of the two main characters, you become quite fond of the spider and his gullible friend. To all of the Xanth characters I give a thumbs up!

A wonderful introduction to the main characters of this and the following book. Fantastic in both writing and enjoyability. This is Piers Anthony at his best; meaning all the humor, fast pace, light romance, and action we all crave for. Thanks once again to this splendid author.
