This book should be free. Francine as someone that is a nurse and been in the military ,I'd hate to be critically injured and have her take care of me. She is a total ditz and plays the poor victim. Thankfully Maureen made the reading bearable

I was not a virgin when I was married, but I am now a Mennonite woman. I usually read romance novels plenty and just skip over certain sections of books when I, um, get the idea, but I basically was skipping most of the book.

I have really enjoyed this series and look forward to each new book. I noticed the very mixed reviews this book has been getting but bought it anyway. I simply can't understand the negative reviews. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and especially appreciated the mix of characters and story lines. The Virgin River series is as much about community as it is about individual couples and this entry greatly developed that theme. Eagerly awaiting the next book.

This was such a fun read. The whole Virgin River series is amazing and the stories keep getting better. This one was full of humor (Rosie is hysterical!) and even a little racier than the past books. I can't wait to read about the other Riordan brothers and to find out where Sean ends up when he comes back.

I was very disappointed when I read this book. I had been looking forward for these new releases.
This was not a Virgin River book. This was just a story about two people who had limited contact with Virgin River. The heart of the Virgin River books is Jack's Bar. It was barely mentioned in this book. The core characters Jack, Mel, Preacher, Mike and the marine buddies were incidental in the story line. It was like they were written in just so you could call it a Virgin River Book.
Angel's Peak was just another story about man gets woman pregnant, woman doesn't tell man, man discovers child, they rekindle their romance and live happily ever after.

This is a stand alone read with a HEA. Set in the small community of Virgin River. I'm not sure what is going on but the store doesn't have me down as owning or reviewing this book as well as several others in the Virgin River Series. Rather strange because in my Content and Devices they all show up as being owned by me. This is weird but here goes anyway. I did read the book back in 2011. I loved it then. A young couple separates because they want different things. They meet again several years later and the sizzle is still there. However, one of them has a big secret and it could just tear them apart again.
It is a great read. I loved it and I definitely recommend it. All the stories in this series are good reads. They are all so different. They have a lot of ex-military guys, medical personnel, teachers, preachers, single moms, etc. Good reads all. I love Virgin River.
I was not paid for this review. I am not a writer nor do I know one. I am not kin to this author. I am a reader and this is my opinion, nothing more, nothing less. 6/30/18

Rating: 2.5 stars __Contains explicit graphic sexual content
Note: 10th in the Virgin River series of more than 20 books.
WARNING: soap opera style format with lots of supporting characters and subplots. It can be confusing if you are not reading the series in order.
EASY READ. Pleasant secret-baby storyline, comfortable familiar cast for those reading the series, spectacular setting, dual romances, and a predictable ending. HOWEVER, the dialogue is sometimes confusing, the book needs editing, neither the hero or heroine are particularly likable, this secret-baby plot holds nothing new, the language continues to be bleep-able, lots and lots of sex, and the story just drags in places, all of which detract from the storyline.
THE STORY reunites devil-may-care, military U-2 pilot, Sean Riordan, civilian flight nurse, Franci Duncan, and their secret three-year-old daughter, Rosie. Four years earlier, Franci and Sean had been together two years when Franci asked for a commitment to their future together. Sean refused and moved on to his new assignment. Franci left the service and six-months later gave birth to Sean's daughter. As the story unfolds, an older and wiser Sean unexpectedly runs into Franci and realizes he made a mistake letting her go. He decides to entice her back into his life, but still intends to avoid making a commitment to a future together. He pursues, she eventually tells him about their daughter, he reevaluates his options, and finally decides he is really in love and they belong together. Meanwhile his staunch Catholic mother, Maureen, decides to explore the possibility of love after retirement with Presbyterian minister, George.
OVERALL, an easy continuation of familiar characters and storyline. The VIRGIN RIVER series includes more than 20 books starting with Virgin River (2007).
You may also enjoy the complex characters and storytelling of N. Bruhns, A. Stuart, or E. Palfrey. For sweet, funny, heart touching romances, try Susan Fox, Cara Colter, or Nikki Logan.

As usual, this installment focuses on several story lines, the main being Sean Riordan and his former love Franci. Sean is one of the five Riordan brothers, so you know there will be lots of fun involving the interactions between the brothers and their mother. Honestly, Maureen Riordan is my favorite character in this book. I don’t want to spoil the story, but one of my favorite passages in the book is when Aiden is driving and Maureen is telling him her new plans and he pulls the car over and says “Who are you and what have you done with my mother?” It’s one of many laugh out loud moments in the book.
The main storyline revolves around Sean and Franci, and a big secret she has hidden from him for years - his daughter. I loved the way Sean finally got his act together and immediately takes his father duties seriously. There are so many wonderful, tender, and funny scenes with Sean and Rosie. As expected from this series, a lovely story with lots of new and recurring characters and a wonderful & happy ending.

This is one of my favorite of the Virgin River series. I actually read this book twice, a few years apart, first out of order and then after reading through the first part of the series in order. The Virgin River series is stated able to be read out of order, and Robyn Carr does an admirable job of filling in back details in each book, but really it is better to be read in order, much more interesting and rewarding to hear about the other couples.
This one is about Sean Riordan and Franci. They meet again after 4 years apart, and Sean is surprised to find he has a 3-1/2-year-old daughter. They struggle through some problems, rehashing past problems, and come to a resolution. This book shows clearly how much Sean grew and changed in the prior 4 years, as well as just throughout the course of time in the book, going from a guy who has no intention of having a wife and family to a devoted husband and father. It was sweet to see that transition.
Some of the Virgin River series I liked more than others. A few I found so crammed with couples that I was stumped to pick a "central" couple of focus to the book. That is not true with this one, and probably why I liked it so much. There are the usual continuing side stories of various couples, as well as a new romance brewing, but Sean and Franci are solidly the focus of this book, which is rewarding to read. We get to learn about them and their lives in great depth. Plus, as the series continues on, I know we will hear more about them here and there, so that is wonderful. This was a 5-star read for me.

This novel was definitely a bit of an emotional roller coaster. Carr develops her scenery in vivid clarity, allowing you to enter the story alongside her characters, while at the same time telling a unique and intriguing tale that definitely had me thinking. This is not a fast paced story, but is one where you really get in close with the characters and deal with some rather difficult situations.
The personal conflict within the female lead was astounding. Although she caused a great deal of her troubles on her own in the first place, seeing her trying to muddle her way out of her newfound sink hole was awe-inspiring and jaw dropping. More than once I found myself cursing her new boyfriend. He was such a pompous, arrogant, presumptuous jerk that I couldn`t figure out what she saw in him. I actually cheered when he hit the road. I did find that the relationship between the two main characters (even with said boyfriend out of the way) was just a little too easy. There were so many issues that they needed to work through before they got to where they were, but then again, they were the type of people to take things at face value, which was their issue originally, so the circle came about face.
As a whole I found this novel to be a very mellow, approachable read that really tugs at your heart. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and getting to know these characters.

Ahhhh, back to Virgin River, my favourite little make believe town written by one of my favourite authors. I always come back from my literary forays there refreshed and feeling like I've just been reunited with old friends and family.
However much I love the series I was a little worried that I wouldn't love it as much as I loved the preceding book Forbidden Falls because that one was one of my favourites in the series. But, I was delighted when I started reading Sean and Franci's story.
This one had the usual emotional turmoil that starts out Robyn Carr's books but was also laced wit the usual sexual tension. Many people would say that her books follow a predictable pattern and to a point they may be correct but each and every story is different.
I really enjoyed this trip to Virgin River because it was my first trip back there since Christmas of when I read A Virgin River Christmas and let me tell you it was a long over due trip. I really, really liked Sean and Franci because even though they had a lot of hurt feelings and both felt betrayed you could tell right off the bat that there was still a lot of love for each other on both sides and most importantly they share a great love for their daughter Rosie who brings them back together, reminding them that even though they can fight like cats and dogs that they need each other and Robyn wrote their whole romance out perfectly.
What I love most about the series is that you get a chance to see past characters from the previous books so it's not as if you never see your favourite couples again which is what I think makes the series in my opinion so successful. This book didn't disappoint in that aspect because I got to See quiet a few old faces and caught up on the happenings and their lives and I felt like I was coming home. This one made me laugh a lot and at the time that I was reading it I really needed one so I'm glad that Robyn Carr was there to cheer me up.
I highly recommend this series to everyone but I urge you to read them in order except for A Virgin River Christmas which doesn't *have* to be read as the fourth book because I didn't read it until the end of last year but the other books in the series should be read in sequential order. If you want to feel like you're going home and want to read a great contemporary romance series start this one now!

A darling 3-yr old child gets to me every time and it seems Sean Riordan (father who didn't know he was) is similarly smitten, but what's it going to take to convince Franci (still smarting from his declaration that marriage wasn't for him) to give him another chance?
In this 10th in the Virgin River Series, Pastor Noah and Ellie DO get married, and Sean's mother (widowed for 12 years now) meets someone who just might get her to reconsider her decision NEVER to get close to a man. After all, she was going to be a nun before her first husband (father to her five rambunctious boys, now men)swept her off her feet.
What's next in #11? Another Riordan man bites the single dust? First Luke (with Shelby, now pregnant) and now Sean? Is Aidan next?

U-2 pilot stationed at Beale Air Force Base, Sean Riordan remains in Virgin River after being the best man at his brother Luke's wedding (see Temptation Ridge) as he has six weeks of lose or lose leave to kill. He stops at a restaurant's bar for a drink when four women enter the establishment. One of them is flight nurse Franci Duncan who four year ago demanded they go to the next level in their relationship or end it; he reacted by telling her not to let the door slam into her butt. She left and vanished from Luke AFB in Phoenix; he went on to Beale regretting what he lost.
Sean demands Franci explain why she left so abruptly after they split up. She wants him to leave her alone though she still loves him. However, he is stunned when she explains he is the father of little Rosie who she has raised as a single mom. He wants in his daughter's life, but Franci distrusts Sean and wonders if he is mature enough to have the staying power to be a part of his son's life. Sean knows he has a second chance to rectify his biggest mistake as he wants both of his females in his life permanently.
Once readers accept the opening coincidence that the lovers when they were in Arizona meet by chance in remote Northern California, fans will enjoy the story line is emotionally driven by a strong cast. Sean is terrific as he regrets what he blew and is appreciative that he has a second chance. Franci on the other hand does not want to give him one. Well written, Robyn Carr provides a delightful Virgin River entry as she overcomes an overused trite premise of a dad unaware of siring a precious child with a super cast especially the lead couple who make for a fine tale.

Wonderful story of rebuilding old bonds, new relationships, and growth. Follows the story of Sean and Franci, and fast forwards to four years after their break up. They both never really got over each other, especially after a horrible break up. Sean is every bit the masculine hero, with a touch of reality in admitting in needing maturity years before, and Franci is a very relatable and hardworking character. I really liked their story, but... What I didn't like two much was the book was only 1/2 about them. It had a lot of small love stories between older couples coming together and finding love, getting married. Which was great, but I think they should have their own books. Not be in this one. The first few were fine, feel good paragraphs here in there. After awhile though I just kept thinking "c'mon get back to the main characters already.." Then it kept going on and on, until the main characters weren't really as romantic as the sub characters in the story. Which for me personally, was a downer. I like the small stories in it, I do. I just felt like they held too much of the bulk. Sean and Franci rekindled their relationship, Sean making a new relationship with his newly found daughter Rosie, and then it just kinda leaves them there in limbo while all these other couples get married and find love. By page 370 it's still isn't resolved with the main couple, making it hard for me to get through. I like the main couples chemistry, and story, just wish it was more about them.

..however, all stories are not as likable as others. This last one, Angel's Peak was disappointing. There wasn't much interaction with the original characters as there has been in the previous books. I will continue to read the books mainly because I'm up to book 11, and I can easily obtain them from the library.
Robyn Carr is an entertaining author, and her characters are well defined. For me, if one book is exciting, I can hardly wait to read the next book in the series. The same goes for if the book was a disappointment, I'll read something else, before getting another book in the series.

Enjoyed this sweet story of past lovers reuniting, a secret child, and others finding long earned happiness. I did not like the hero's man-whore behavior while they were apart.

4.5 stars!
Another great addition to a very addictive series. This book gives us a much bigger glimps into everyones life in Virgin River than Forbidden Fall's did, but still it primarily focuses on Sean (Luke's brother), and Franci, his ex-girlfriend. They cross paths by chance and Sean realizes he never truly got over the abrubt ending of his relationship with Franci. I always love a romance where the hero knows what he wants and goes after it, and this one delivered. He is the persuer, and she the persued.
We learn from the summary that Franci had his baby and never told him, something I typically do not enjoy reading about in romances as it seams so unexcusable. BUT, Robyn Carr paints a very convincing story. She doesn't try to convince us that Franci was right, quite the contrary in fact, but allows us to get into Franci's head so we might possibly understand the tough decisions she was facing. Sean was no great prize when he first new Franci. He was selfish, selfish, and selfish. Four years later he is wiser and more aware, but ultimately still on the selfish side.
I loved how Sean was forced to face his past and how ashamed he became once he understood how he hurt people, including himself. And little Rosie, OMG she is adorable!! If you enjoy a cute little kid in your stories, this one will go for your heart. (However, I will agree with one reviewer about how the parenting tactics seamed all wrong. It was jarring and part of why I couldn't give this one 5 stars. I don't even have kids but I felt that several things went on that were utterly backwards from the way they should be. <<<START SPOILER WARNING>>> Sean walks right into her bedroom and announces he is her father, despite them having only seen each other in passing once. Why wasn't the mother there to help explain? <<<END SPOILER WARNING>>> ))
There is also a secondary romance between an older couple, and plenty of visits with characters. Noah and Ellie's story continues, and we get a nice visit with Hope and Luke. There is much going on around town as the holiday season approaches, including the town folks opening their hearts to the needy. And if you are wondering about Ian and Marcie (who have gone missing since Virgin Christmas) we get a blurb that their cabin is under construction. Of course that leads into the next book Moonlight Road where Marcie's sister comes for a long visit. I am so glad these books come out back-to-back! I really look forward to more of this series! Enjoy.

I am totally in love with this series! Probably not the most unbiased opinion, but the sense of love and community in these novels keeps me coming back for more. When playboy pilot Sean Riordan runs into the one that got away, he learns that he has never gotten over her, and that they have a three year old daughter. Will they be able to make a go of it this time around?

We get to revisit old friends from Virgin River as well as meet new ones. The only thing that keeps me from giving it 5 stars is that I feel there are too many different characters' stories (or the denouement of prior stories) crammed into this one book.

Four years ago Franci Duncan made the mistake of asking her boyfriend, Sean Riordan, where their relationship was heading. The answer she received led to harsh words that neither could take back and while the Air Force transferred Sean to another location Franci left the service and disappeared. Now Sean stumbled across her, the one woman he's never gotten over, and she's got a huge surprise for him. His daughter Rosie! Now Sean has determined that not only will he have his daughter but he'll also get Franci back. But that maybe easier said than done. With the history they share and Sean's pending deployment to Iraq can they find the love that once shared and build on it to make a family?
Angel's Peak is another wonderful chapter in Robyn Carr's Virgin River series. Franci and Sean twist themselves around your heart making you yearn for their happy ending. I admit it, I'm addicted to the Virgin River series. I just cannot get enough!

I'd never read Robyn Carr's books before and so picked up two at my library: TEMPTATION RIDGE and this one, ANGEL'S PEAK. I read them in chronological order. If I had started with ANGEL'S PEAK I would not have bothered to pick up TEMPTATION RIDGE. In other words, TR was a fairly good read, although all those wonderful, good-looking, wholesome people to be found in one small place with a population under 1000 was fairly amazing to me. And all those hunky ex-military guys finding their one-true-love who manages to be caring, intelligent and hot at the same time. But it was my first taste of a R. Carr book so I enjoyed it for what it was. Then I read this one. OMG, everything that was slightly cloying and annoying about TR became unbearable for me in ANGEL'S PEAK. The writing was quite heavy-handed and pedantic and the story a big bore. I guess at my age I'm not looking for someone to be instructing me on relationships and sex. In addition, I like my characters in books to be more complex and interesting and have more flaws. It seems the only flaw the men have is that they have slept around too much before finding THE ONE and the women apparently have some trauma in their past caused by some non-Virgin-River guy who was no good. And the conception and gestation and birthing of babies got to me after a while. And would somebody please please explain to me how 3-year-old Rosie's ability to pronounce the R sound was so inconsistent? She calls herself Wide Iwish Rose. Shouldn't that be Wide Iwish Wose?

Book Blurb: Four years ago, Air Force sweethearts Franci Duncan and Sean Riordan reached an impasse. She wanted marriage and a family. He didn't. But a chance meeting proves that the bitter breakup hasn't cooled their sizzling chemistry.
Sean has settled down in spite of himself--he's not the cocky young fighter pilot he was when Franci left, and he wants them to try again. After all, they have a history...but that's not all they share.
Franci's secret reason for walking away when Sean refused to commit is now three and a half: a redheaded cherub named Rosie who shares her daddy's emerald-green eyes. Sean is stunned--and furious with Franci for the deception.
News travels fast in Virgin River, and soon the whole town is taking sides. Rebuilding their trust could take a small miracle--and the kind of love that can move mountains.
-- Angel's Peak is a wonderful addition to the Virgin River saga.
There are parts of this book felt disjointed due to switching the focus of the story to Maureen & George then back to Franci and Sean. While I love series titles, it can be terribly distracting when characters with their own story lines from other books walk in and take the driver's seat.
That said, I love sinking my teeth into a Carr novel. Her characterizations are always spot on, the emotions are deep and real and the situations could be real life. While the heroine wasn't terribly likable in the beginning of the book, Carr redeems her by exposing her vulnerabilities and allowing the reader to relate to her.

This book was just plain awful. I have never read anything from this author previously, so perhaps that could be one of the reasons for the one star I gave it. She introduces so many characters and doesn't elaborate on their past in the series, so the reader is left confused. The main character Franci appears selfish and self-centered. The plot is really never THERE for me....it's all over the place with no "edge of your seat" excitement at all. Sorry, but this was a definite dud for me.

This was a pleasure read, so this won't be a full review. I've been jumping around in this series with no difficulty, so you should have no trouble if you don't read them in order, they stand alone. I love the setting for these books, and have grown to love the people. This book was no exception, however I did feel like this book revolved around the town more than the hero and heroine, especially toward the end. Still a pleasant read nonetheless. Writers must always be careful of a secret baby/child plot, but I feel she pulled it off. Recommended.

I can't get enough of the Virgin River series. I love the way the cast of character's are interwoven from one story to the next! That's probably my favorite part of the series so you have to be sure to read them in order.

It is the type of reading that has romance without that hard core junk that's popping up recent books. This book continues a series around a nice quit community. The only issue I had with it is that it was too many people, but that's what make this community series a good read

I enjoyed this book. In fact, I liked it better than the last one in this series. That being said, I understand some of the issues some readers have had with it. However, I ENJOYED it, stayed up way too late to finish it, and am glad I took the time to do so. I love hearing from old friends from earlier books. I liked Sean, and the secondary storylines were interesting, even humorous. I always finish a VR book wishing I could visit there!
If you have kept up with this series, then I would definitely recommend reading this installment. For me, it was definitely worth it. If you have not read the other VR books, I wouldn't start with this one.

I had added Robyn Carr to my list of "good writers who leave me with pleasant feelings," but this book gave me second thoughts. Maybe it was because I hadn't read others in the series, but I found the sudden intrusion of unknown characters into a chapter or two of their own to be distracting and pointless.

Virgin River series revolves around a small town and its many characters. They float in and out of Robyn Carr's books like a fine play. Angel's peak tells the story of one of the Riordan brothers. Five brothers brought up in a strong Irish Catholic family. All five served in the military. Sean's story is about finding out he has a daughter. Never thinking he ever wanted to be tied down by family Sean soon realizes that all that changes when he meets the Wild Iwish Rose.

This was another book I was unable to put down. I looked over the reviews and was surprised at how upset people were over Virgin River not being the center stage of this book. The characters all tied into the community, and hidden pregnancies are one of the main storylines in this genre. I can't be offended by it, and commend the author for making it thus far into the series without using it previously I will continue to read Robyn Carr, and truly enjoy her books.

Don't waste your money- if you really want to read it check it out of the library. There's too much focus on the secondary characters- save it for another book, for crying out loud. Plus this is a romance novel- a preacher that's hopping into bed with his girlfriend? I don't think you should be mixing religion into a romance novel.

I am really struggling to finish this book. I've loved all of the Virgin River stories, and the last book Forbidden Falls (where did the author get that title), was wonderful. This book is completely different. There is no plot and no character development.
The main female character, Franci, is extremely unlikable. Years before the story begins, she finds out she is pregnant with Sean's child, a guy she has been dating seriously for two years. Instead of telling him she's pregnant, she picks a fight, telling him she's ready to get married, and if he's not, the relationship is over and he'll never see her again. At 28 he isn't ready to get married and have kids, even though he loves her and is happy in the relationship. After a nasty fight, she pretty much disappears without a trace. He never gets over her, and 4 years later bumps into her. When he finds her, she is extremely hostile, and if not for his persistence, I guess he never would have found out he had a daughter. The author works hard to convince us that Sean is the bad guy in this, and to defend Franci's actions, but it just doesn't work.
The rest of the story is told in a reflective voice ... blah, blah, blah, with the author telling us what happens instead of anything ever happening. Other characters traipse in and out of the story, watering things down and filling up pages, but not really adding to the plot. For instance, she has a "stable" boyfriend who is 40 and who, by the way, doesn't want marriage or more kids. There's also a grandma who's urgent to deal with. We never really get to know Franci, and she and Sean don't grow into their relationship, it's just there all of a sudden. There's no real chemistry.
Anyway, maybe the last 100 pages are fantastic, but I don't think I'm going to get to them. This was a very disappointing installment of what has previously been a very charming series.

I can't get enough of this Virgin River series. The stories have a beautiful flow. And I love the way no character goes away. It's just like real life. There are ups and downs, you get surprise just like in life. Anyone who enjoys reading will enjoy this story.

This is the first and LAST Robyn Carr book I have read. Maybe if I had read the series from the beginning it would have been better, but I think not. The main thought I had was "this is just another Debbie Macomber Cedar Cove series - just set in Virgin River. AND Ms. Carr lacks Macomber's writing talent.

I was a bit nervous because of the storyline of this particular Virgin River tale. However, I got caught up in the story, as well as loving all the interactions with previous Virgin River characters. So I kept turning those pages as quickly as I could to learn the entire story. I always enjoy books by Robyn Carr, and especially the chance to revisit Virgin River, so I was totally happy with this book.
