I only gave this book two stars because I could not get through it. It is a lame book compared to The Demonologist. I like the Warrens, but not this book. If you are looking for stories about ghosts that live near the graveyard then you will like this book.

I was excited to read this book because I am fascinated by the Warrens and paranormal literature interests me. However, this book is poorly written and a bit choppy and most of the stories revolve around 1 cemetery.

I was disappointed. This was more about urban legend stories than actual things the Warren's have encountered over the years. I tried a sample first and when it got to the end of the sample, I went ahead and purchased the book. It only took me about 30 minutes to read the remaining part of the book. I feel like I wasted $10.

What a load of .... If like me, your wanting to buy this because you are interested in The Warrens cases, then don't bother ! It's just filled with stories, rumors and local legends surrounding a cemetery near where they lived at the time. I stopped reading at 25% or so, scrolled through to a later part of the book, same stuff. Anyone could of written this, and by putting the Warrens names on this it's just a nice little money maker for all involved. Will NOT be buying any more in the series and it sadly discredits the Warrens in my eyes.

I have known about the Warrens for a very long time & I have read a lot of their work, but the one thing that gets me the most is the evidence, or more impotently the lack of! They claim to have thousands of photos, audio & video recordings of the things they encounter but all you ever see is one video of a kitchen & a moving chair (that could easily be faked). Take for instance a chapter in this book called “Videotaping a Ghost”. They claim to have video tape of the “White Lady” of Union Cemetery, but you NEVER see it! Has ANYONE outside of the Warren’s circle of friends seen it? The Warren’s claim to have photos of thousands of ghosts & demons but you never see it not even in the books they have put out…NO PHOTOS! Why all the secrecy? So much for the scientific approach! Anyone can spin a good yarn, but to present this story as fact but give NO proof makes it nothing but a ghost story. As the old saying goes “Don’t piss down my neck & tell me it’s raining”!

Really like this book I really like this book . Sorry this is in here twice but I'm using a microphone. Ed and Lorraine Warren are good people no matter what realm they are in . They have helped a lot of people through the years . If you want to know about them and their lives the best thing you can do is buy their books and the lessons . Unfortunately they have left everything as far as I can tell to their son-in-law . It seems to me that he has turn their site end who they were into basically a money make money making machine . What I'm saying is it's best to buy off of Kindle or some other site not the New England Society for psychical research site .Whether you are a believer or not this book is interesting and has many good stories . Good reading and blessed be .

This book is light reading. It is broken down into short, digestible chapters revolving around the reported sightings at a Connecticut graveyard.

Books like this always intrigue me. I always purchase them and normally lose interest a few chapters in or skip around to different areas that interest me. This one reminded me more of the books I read as a child/teen. I found it thoroughly entertaining and written in a way that kept it fun and concise/to the point. This set it apart from other similar books.

The last part of the book includes paranormal stories that do not occur in the cemetery but are still very interesting.

My family lives thousands of miles away and when they visit, this is the book I leave in their bedroom for entertainment. The ease with which you can pick it up, read a chapter, put it down, and keep on makes it a hit with everyone that stays here.

I also have the Demonologist. This is a better book than the Demonologist, in my opinion, as the other failed to keep my interest.

I am not sure what to say on this review. I did enjoy reading it. I found it entertaining. Yet I don't feel most of these stories are true. They feel like campfire stories. I kept wondering if what I was reading was supposed to be fiction.

I came to this book because of how much I loved the book the Demonologist. That book was also about the Warrens. This book really isn't about them. It just tells stories of people they have either met or heard about.

SO in the end I shrug my shoulders. I don't give a lot of three star reviews. I would recommend but with a caveat. If you are looking for stories about the Warrens then go read The Demonologist. For this I would recommend reading if you want to hear some (to my knowledge) fake ghost stories that are actually entertaining.

Normally, I like Ed and Lorraine Warren's books....but, this one was a clunker. These are boy scout campfire stories (at best).
More geared towards pre-adolescent males around the campfire. Most stories are silly and implausible...and short. Save your time and money on this one.

Right off the bat, let me say that I'm not sure If I believe everything Ed and Lorraine Warren say they have experienced over the years. For those of us that keep up on these things, I am not the only skeptic. They are of course one of the oldest and most famous teams of parapsychology researchers, having been involved in the Amityville Horror case, and they claim to have investigated (up until Mr. Warren's death in 2006) over 10,000 cases. Their research methods have been called "unscientific," and they have a distinctly Catholic bias (not a bad thing necessarily). Mrs. Warren is currently involved in litigation regarding the reprint of "The Devil in Connecticut," in which an involved party alleges that the tale of demon possession was a hoax. The same has been said regarding Amityville, and that the Warren's were just out to make a quick sensationalist buck.

Without knowing them personally or having intimate details of their history, I can only say that I do not believe they are manufacturing a majority of what they say they have experienced. There is a difference between an outright lie, and literary creativity, which is one of the things that makes this one of the most entertaining and interesting books in the field.

Mr. Warren begins with a brief history of odd occurrences in the state of Connecticut, then specifically to the sightings of the "White Lady" of Union Cemetery in Monroe. Notable cases include the body of a murdered man that rises from a sinkhole despite having his pockets weighted with lead, A talk-show host who receives a call from a local cemetery inviting him to a rendezvou with his long dead son, and a former U.S. Senator who receives a call from the murdered daughter of his dead aunt on a phone that has long been disconnected. All of these stories are well-written and related with brilliant creative flourish, most retold from stories related to the Warren's by their clients over the years. Mr. Warren also relates the tale of meeting a long dead friend and member of their New England Society for Psychical Research in a cemetery in broad daylight.

Perhaps Mr. And Mrs Warren were too quick to attribute either supernatural or demonic influences to many of the cases they have worked on over the years. Will the litigation "prove" it to me? No. Did they engage in shoddy methods that might give more scientifically skeptical researchers a bad name? Perhaps. Was the book highly entertaining and fascinating. Absolutely.

5 out of 5 skulls.

Sometimes I like to read true ghost stories just to make my insomnia more interesting. The Strange Passenger chapter's opening really made me laugh. It probably shouldn't have, because I know I would have been more freaked out than the man it actually happened to, but the way they wrote it out - prolonging the suspense - was great. I like that they also stress the folly and danger of meddling with black magic and ouija boards. That can't be stressed enough. You could devour this interesting book in an evening.

Graveyard consists of a number of cemetery-related ghost stories. The first third of the book addresses stories surrounding Union Cemetery in the Warrens' home state of Connecticut, while the remaining two-thirds of the book is made up of similar graveyard tales from all over. The book was basically written by Robert David Chase, but Ed and Lorraine Warren clearly determined the content and offered many of their own opinions and stories throughout the narrative. The Warrens are well-known ghost hunters, and this fact can be something of a double-edged sword. Name recognition alone will draw some to this book while turning others away. The Warrens are a very active and outspoken couple, and many of their beliefs and theories are rather extreme. Personally, I believe in ghosts, but my own beliefs do not stretch as far as those of the Warrens. The famous couple seems to find ghosts everywhere; they go into a cemetery with a tape recorder or video camera and come out with evidence of spiritual contact, evidence which is rarely laid out specifically for those they are speaking to or detectable in the evidence they offer. In addition, they often assume facts which still remain up in the air to many of those interested in the subject at hand. I find them overzealous at best. For instance, Ed talks about having filmed a ghost in Union Cemetery that could easily be seen on the video he took of it, yet no picture of this sort is included in the eight pages of black and white photos in this book. All claims aside, there really is no proof offered for any of the stories told in this book.
Graveyard should be viewed as a collection of ghost stories and nothing more. In that capacity, the book works reasonably well. A number of very different ghostly experiences are described here, several of which do have the potential to raise goose bumps. Almost all of these stories are interesting if not fascinating, and the centrality of cemeteries in each story makes this a somewhat unusual book of ghost tales. Taken in this vein and viewed primarily in terms of entertainment, Graveyard is a successful book. If you expect more than that from the Warrens, you may be disappointed, as this book is not constructed on a solid foundation of credibility.

The Warrens are the top of the field. They have done over 7000 cases including leading the ONLY investigative group to go into the Amityville Horror house. Not one of the hoax beleivers ever investigated the house and Kaplan was just angry because he was a rank amatuer cut out of a case that would have made his carreer. Ed Warren is the only lay demonologist in the world recognized by the Catholic Church and the Vatican. He and his wife have 52 years of experience in hauntings. If you want to know the truth of whats going on in the world read there books.

If you are looking for a book about real haunts or if you just want a good book of ghost stories to send a chill up your spine this would be a great choice. It is true that these are for the most part one person experences and the documentation is sparse but I still liked this book very much. The writing style is very easy to read and draws the reader into the story. This is a perfect book for a cool October evening.
The first section of the book takes its stories from Union Cemetery in Monroe, Connecticut while the rest of the stories come from, "other graveyards." The whole point of the book seems to be that much psychic energy exists in graveyards, some of it very bad energy. I must admit that I have never liked the idea of going into a cemetery at night and I think most people feel that way too, even if they will not admit it. This book banks on most people having that little fear of graveyards and it will bring out a goosebump or two.
If nothing else, this book doesn't cost much and its lots of fun.

A very well-told collection of ghost stories. I know they are true, because while living in Texas, I experienced very similar to what was described in this text--the strange smells, and most encounters always happened when I was alone. This is a great little book you can enjoy in one or two evenings with a cup of tea. Don't miss it!!!I loved it!

I can't say whether I believe every story in this is true, but all are scary, compelling, and definitely make you want to avoid graveyards.

I've read this book twice already. It is absolutely one of the best ghost books ever written.

I found this book at a used bookstore, decided to buy it due to the cheap price. Even that was a waste of money! Graveyard is one of the worst books I've read about hauntings, period, and the worst penned by the Warrens. I like to read about the Warrens and their cases, fantastical as most of them are, but this is absolute drivel. There was even a discrepancy in one story that I noted in the book itself. To say that a particular graveyard is haunted...well, wouldn't any graveyard be haunted? I doubt it. Just because the dead are buried there doesn't mean anything, that's what freaks most people out about graveyards. Personally, I find them quite peaceful.

This book is truly a must have. From beginning to end you are truly enthralled in this book. I couldn't stop reading it. It's a lot of true stories and pictures from the Warren's many adventures. It's creepy to think a lot of this happened, but fascinating to read!

All people see & hear things even if they are blind or deaf. The Warrens just present what many have seen & heard through out the years. I own the book Grave Yards by the Warrens. I have had an experience at a grave yard myself while I was in my 20ties & again in my 40ties. I just wanted to see what the Warrens had to say about the subject. Their book has already helped me.

I bought the book due to the reviews, even though I have seen this couple on tv and wondered about them. I found this book way too fantastical. Some of the stories were waaaay out there! I don't even think they investigated any of the cases. Not all of the stories dealt with ghost, some banshees, demons. Also very short book. I wondered if they just wrote down passed down stories.

All stories have the same old rhetoric about how one person experienced something alone. The old adage, "if you look for a boogeyman in the closet long enough, you will eventually see one" is ever present.
Do not loose IQ points or brain cells in this FICTION!
