The book has been formatted professionally- which made the reading experience much more enjoyable. The characters were well developed and realistic- their structure was complex and emotions were well delivered. The book definitely had that force, pushing the reader to read on. The climaxes were intense and plot unpredictable. The concept was unique and the world building was heavy. It gave me the feeling I was actually there. In short; I enjoyed the story and would recommend it to other readers.

I liked this dragon book that took off and stayed even paced through to the HEA for now. Likable characters, honorable characters. H and h raised as normal humans find their birthdays open a whole new world of paranormal especially Dragons. Good story-line with suspense, some drama and angst as challenges occurred. I learned as they learned. I find I like stories with H and h as unknowing as me. Supportive characters added to the story. This was written for children to adults as I found some of the descriptions spelled out slower and with more length. Noticed but didn't take away from story. No romance yet, G rated and clean and I only noticed at the end book. But it is only book 1....

Being just a few years older than a young adult, well ok, more than a few ? I really enjoyed this book .
The start of a magical fantasy journey for a young man, just turned 18 , and his friend, who thought he was an ordinary guy. But on or just before his 18th birthday he is told he is adopted. If that isn't bad enough his biological parents are coming to take him back. When they arrive, well let's simply say a fantastic magical life begins for him.
I literally could not put this book down. Loved every twist and turn in it.
If that was the first in the series, I hope the rest are as good.
It is a must read, whatever age you are.

I actually read the second book in this series first & I loved it so much that I had to go back to the beginning!
Well-written story with well-developed worlds & characters abounding in this fantasy adventure. What would you do if you found out the week before your 18th birthday that not only you were adopted, your parents are dragons? Then, once you meet your parents & go to their world, you find out you are a Prince & a Protector. Then, as if that isn't enough, you discover that you & your best friend are the Keeper of Dragons & have to save the world from the farros & other previously unknown races.
A great adventure, enjoyable whether you are a YA or a OA (older adult, in this case over 50). I love this series & am waiting for Ms. Culican to write more!

A fun fantasy with dragons, an evil threat, and interesting twists. I wanted to keep reading to learn what would happen next. One reviewer mentioned rough grammar, but I feel that it communicates the narrator’s voice—he says that he was never great at school on the first page. Perhaps this is how he would have told his story…

I couldn't put this one down once I had started reading it. What is there not to love? A boy who finds out he is not really the son of his parents but actually the son of dragons, who is destined to become the Keeper of Dragons, protecting them and Earth against a bunch of wicked fallen fairies? Sheer magic. I hope there are more books in the offing.

I love dragons and I loved this book! This is the first book I have read by this author and the first book in this series. This was a wonderful fantasy book in my opinion. I loved the characters and my heart really went out to Cole, with so many changes going on when he turned 18. Eva is awesome and great for Cole. The two are an awesome team and I am really looking forward to the next book. I highly recommend this book to lovers of dragons and lovers of fantasy. Looks like I have a new favorite author to follow.

This was a very interesting read that I could not put down once I started reading. It has a fantastic story that will keep you interested and entertained from beginning to end, wonderful characters and moves along at a great pace. This book needs to be read, no doubt about it.

This book was spellbinding. . It was well written and the characters were intriguing as was the storyline. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes romantic and interesting story. I will be reading more of this series.

Things seem to happen to quickly and far to easily in this book, there needs to be more character depth, that being said, this is a definate YA read! Cole the lead character finds out that the on his 18th Birthday, his real parents are coming to take him home and when that happens, his whole world changes! The storyline is good, I just wish the authors had "fleshed" it out a little more. An easy rainy day read!

I was caught up in the story from the beginning, it is full of Dragons (of course), Trolls, Fairies (both good and bad ones) and humans. The Dragons protect the humans, but there is bad being done and The Keeper of Dragons can stop them. Great read.

I am not usually a fan of fantasy stories, however I thought I would give it a shot. I am glad I did! This story kept my attention from beginning to end! I really enjoyed it! I'm even planning on reading it to my 8 year old. Waiting on book #2!

The story idea started out well though it moves along awfully quickly. What stopped me from reading more than a couple of chapters was the terrible editing. The poor punctuation, misspelled and/or incorrectly used words ("the weaning moon"???) were so bad that I couldn't ignore them enough to finish the book. If this book is ever updated with good editing, I'd read it.

Well written dragon fantasy. Kept me entertained, reading until I finished. Would have liked a few more details on enemies of the dragons and their defeat. Look forward to ready the rest in the series.

Pros: quick read, intriguing story, good if you want to just kind of read and not really get involved to much
Cons: everything happens really quickly with hardly any explanation, very contradictory in some situations in the book, there isn't really time for a plot to unfold, it just kind of gets dropped on you and then quickly moves on

It's an easy and quick reading, different from what I've been reading lately.
I liked the world created but I couldn't connect with some of the characters, like Eva. I need to know more about her in the next book!

In my review I am taking into consideration that my 13 year old grandson absolutely loved it. For me, it was simplistic and predictable...formulaic, if you will. My hope is that the books that follow will be more meaty and complex.

Characters and settings seem rather flat and one-dimensional, but the story has potential. I know nothing about the author but if s/he is a high school student, then excellent job and be sure to take a grammar class before your next attempt. IIIIIIII!!! He followed Eva and I. No. No. NO!!! Would you say He followed I??? Adding another person or 20 people makes no difference!! The two people are a compound object in the sentence and it should be He followed Eva and ME!! This and other errors are consistent throughout the book and the poor grammar nearly made me take it out of my Kindle. I am just glad I didn't have to pay for it. The story itself is fun and an easy bit of mind candy for almost any age, but PLEASE get a grammar book, class, or an editor!!

I am trying to force myself through this to figure out how and why it has so many good reviews, but I honestly don't know if I can make it. I should have read the two star reviews first, because they nailed it.
For starters, if people think this drivel is for young adults then I despair of what will happen to the next generation. This book is not simple; it is simply unintelligent. The author writes with an aptitude I would expect from a child, not a young adult. The punctuation is terrible; the "story" moves too fast; and the characters are unbelievable (as in they don't seem to have any reason to act as they do, not as in they are fantastic). In general, the whole thing reads like a rough draft of a manuscript turned in for a class project by a fourth grader.
There are some good ideas here, and the story as an outline is intriguing, but without proper development it all falls flat. It feels as though someone wrote it overnight, with little to no actual effort to present what I'm sure is, in the author's head, a very real and cherished world. In fact, the best thing I can say about this book is that it really inspires me to publish what I write; because if someone can publish work as undeveloped as this and get such good reviews, then I can write a bestseller in a month.

So, I gave this story low stars because, one reason, since I initially do not like continuation stories they have to be EXTREMELY good food me to read them. And I have only found a few that I liked. This story had to much going on, it had no direction, was all over the place, it seemed rushed, it didn't have a flow to it, so at 69% I tapped out. Just couldn't read anymore.

Couldn't even bring myself to finish it.
I got to 73% and I before I just had to quit.
I thought it would be a good book with the plot but it moved way to fast.
Also the main character was a complete loser.
In the time I had read it he did nothing even remotely significant. He's also supposed to lead the golden dragon but he clearly gallows her lead.
I HATE weak main characters and honestly he was PATHETIC.
If u have a lot of patience maybe it gets better but overall I don't recommend it.

I'm giving this book 3.5 Stars! I really wanted to give it 4 stars, but couldn't for several reasons.
1. The book needed another pass through an editor for grammer issues.
2. The characters needed to be fleshed out better.
3. All things "dragon" could have been described better.
4. The ending was so quick, it was a little disappointing.
Please note, that this writer has great potential. Her ideas alone hooked me. Even with the problems, I would like to read book #2. There is action, twists that I did not see coming, and it is a clean read. There were many times when I felt I was a part of the story. I was given this book for free by the author, and it is my choice to post this review.
