A story that at first was slow but got better. It was confusing because the reader has a lot of questions about the patient Ramona that are not answered.
But it is a very good read and enjoyable. The characters are well developed and the story line is well written. I hate cliffhangers but I am excited the read more about these two characters.
The story has twists and turns and lots of emotional ups and downs. It has chemistry, passion and lust.
A short quick read.

I volunteered to review an advance reader copy of this book.

I loved the prologue - it delivered exactly what I expected from an erotic tale. Unfortunately the storyline went downhill from there. For suck a short read it seemed to drag on with the daily minutiae of the college life of Roni. I get that this is a serial but really ? pages of her getting to class? I expected the cliffhanger so I wasn't upset. I did have a problem with the doctor being married-one of my pet peeves. Will I continue? I'm not sure.

I received a complimentary copy of this book for voluntary review consideration

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.. OK I am giving 3 stars not because it was a bad read but because I really didnt get emotionally invested in it. It is a really short first book and yes it's a cliffhanger, I knew this going into the read so I don't hold it against it. I am however interested enough to read the second installment to this series. It peak my interest at the end just as Roni meets Dr Dexter Frost.... I'm guessing a Dr Dreamy. Well written book cant wait to see what is in store for Roni in book two

This was my first book by Eme Strife. The prologue was definitely different than the rest of the book. The steamy prologue made me super excited that this book would be great.
Was a little disappointed that it left us not knowing how things will turn out but hey that's what everything is doing now. Left me ready for the next installment.

A slow start to a long cliffy series. According to the blurb, I feel this is going to be a great series. I love the storyline. Not too crazy about the doc being married, tho. Bk 1 has introduced us to some interesting characters in Romona's college life. Now we need to see how this story unfolds. Thus book was a little slow laying everyone out for us. I plan to get Book 2, it was offered for free in Bk 1. I'll see if the story picks up and decide if I want to continue.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book...

Disappointing doesn't even begin to describe what I felt while reading this story. The book started off really hot and then bam! Snooze fest. I also didn't like the fact that the doctor is married. I didn't realize cheating would be part of the plot. I couldn't really connect with the characters so I couldn't easily relate to them. I do plan to read the next book in the series just to see what happens.

This is the first book I've read by this author and I thought it was good. If you don't like serials or cliffhangers you may want to pass on this one. It is more of an introductory installment. I felt the beginning started off good but the momentum seemed to wane. I did enjoy the characters and am interested in seeing how their story develops.

I voluntarily reviewed and advanced reader copy of this book. The book was hard for me to get into until about chapter three. I didn't really understand the story, or where it was going. However, the author writes well, and I was eventually drawn into the story. The character development is good, but the story wasn't really a story. This book is laying the foundation for what I assume is the next book in the series.

The story is okay but this is sad. In order to complete the series the reader winds up paying roughly $30. This series is not worth it. Three bucks every 100 pages? Really? I want to read the rest of the books, but if I did shell out $30 for a series it wouldn't be this one.

More of an introduction to the series. I thought the Prologue was fantastic. Really intriguing, well written, sexy, over the top scene. Pulls the reader in and is a clever hook.

The rest of the story is a letdown. If I was a cliffy kind of reader, I would love it.

I'm not a fan of multiple installments though.

This book definitely left me wanting more. It's a lot shorter than what I typically read and prefer. Personally, I hate cliff hangers that make me have to get the next book to find out what is going on. However, I do have to say that this is really well written. The way this story ends, with a lot of questions, makes you want to read the next book in the series.

This is the first book in the Confidential ten book series and is not a standalone. Roni meets Dr Dexter Frost in this book. Most of the book is about Roni and told from her point of view. Ramona is a college student, lead singer, and pianist. Everything in her life is perfect, or so she thought. She has been in massive pain and has been for over a month now. Finally deciding to go see a doctor, who then refers her to a specialist. And oh boy what a man.

This story had a lot of potential. I was a little disappointed that the specialist and main character in this story was married. Not something I like to read in a story. I was left with a lot more questions then story. Not sure if I will continue the series.

**** ARC was provided by author for honest review ****

Eme Strife, author of this series, reached out and asked if I would be interested in reading and writing a review for the first installment in her series "Patient Confidentiality". After reading the prologue, I was hooked. It had just enough steamy romance/sexiness to reel me in.

I should have known it was too good to be true. After the prologue, I was tossed into the mundane ramblings of a college-aged woman who had an affinity for the f-word. A goodly portion of the first...second...maybe even third chapters was dedicated to her trek across campus to get to class. I waited and waited for things to pick up and get sexy but that never came through. The hot and heavy scenes from the prologue were no where to be seen in the book. I was so confused by this I actually downloaded the file again to ensure I had a full copy.

In short (and based on the length of this booklet that’s all I can give), if you are looking for a bait and switch, or something to pass the time in the bathroom, this may be a piece for you. It had 117 pages, and when read on my Kindle; the last 20% was dedicated to advertisements for other books written by Strife. If I had known, prior to reading, that this was essentially a small portion of a larger book, I would have skipped the review. I am not a fan of serial booklets, which could have been presented as a single standard length book.

Sooooo, this book started out all hot and heavy, but it soon fizzled out, leaving me wanting more. Roni is a struggling college student stuck with enough drama as it is, but soon her life gets a bit more complicated when her she suddenly gets these pains that begin to interrupt her every day life. Where does she go?? The doctor, of course!

Now we don't find out how in the world Roni got herself in the situation she was in in the first scene, but I'm sure hoping we do soon!! The writing was really detailed, but this first installment seemed to drag to me, too much unnecessary detail. I don't quite understand Roni's aversion to love yet, but hopefully all will be revealed in the end! I can't wait to really get to know Dr. Dexter Frost, though, because his description was absolutely yummy!

Really I just finish reading this book, and I love it, but can't believe it left me hanging, I love the characters, and I want to read more about the series, once I started to read this book I couldn't put it down, and I did not wanted to finish it that's why I took my sweet time reading it, I am going to make this really short since I don't want to give anything away.

This is the story of Ramona, she is a student at the collage of Wisconsin, she is studying for Vocal singer, she is the top in her class, but one Monday morning her day did not go well, her first class sucks do to some pain that she is getting on her chest, after her teacher told her to take her self to the campus clinic, she was their waiting for two hours, just to be told that she needed to get to another clinic, that's when she end up meting Doctor Dexter Frost the most handsome man she has ever met.

I really cant say more since this was a short story, but I will love to continue reading this series, Author Eme Strife THANK YOU for introducing me to this awesome characters and this amazing book love it

This was the first book that I have read by Eme Strife and I did like the book. The story itself was sexy, intriguing, mysterious and a very fast read. I realized that this is just book 1 out of 10, so if you don't mind buying book after book then you will most likely like this series. I wish they put all the books in one so I would be more interested in taking the time to read the whole series. I hope the rest of the books are a bit longer. This book is free so if you are looking for a new series to read, this may be what you are looking for.

2.5 stars

This is the first installment of a series, a short read at 16,000 words. The blurb immediately raises your eyebrows with the words school, doctor, sex and relationship but I'm not one to close my mind to these things, so I read it. The prologue is sex-filled with some pretty uncomfortable reading when you have the blurb in mind and the sexual language just lacked some finesse.

I liked the main character Roni, a college music major (yes, thank goodness she's college-age!). She was interesting and in some ways an unlikely heroine. What evolved in this installment were lengthy descriptions of some fairly mundane parts of college life but I remained invested for some nugget of the hero and heroine meeting to some extent. I was disappointed because, nothing much happened other than scene setting. This first book has good reviews and for some it has definitely hit the mark. Unfortunately it wasn't for me.

A little about the Story: This is the first Book in the series. In this book you get to know the main character Ramona. She is a college Student who finds herself having stomach problems & needing a Doctor. A handsome nicely built doctor to be exact.

Pros: The Author gets you up close and personal with Ramona. You get to know her inside out. I like when you get to know the character so well, She becomes almost real in your mind. You follow her through the story with the anticipation of meeting the Doctor that was rocking her world in the prologue.

Cons: Though the Prologue started the book off with Steamy and sexy, the rest of the story leaves you waiting for more that never came.

The Author did warn me that you need to read the whole series to get the Full Story. That being said, yes there is a cliffhanger. If you are into Book Series, this might be one for you to get your hands on.

I give this Story 3 Stars⭐⭐⭐

Doctor-Patient Confidentiality is a great beginning to what looks to be a very spicy and exciting series. Volume 1 begins with a very hot scene, one of those scenes that sucks you in and you just know this is going to be a hot read! Unfortunately the remainder of Volume 1 is the back story of how a young college student (Ramona) meets Dr. Frost. Ramona and Dr. Frost are the two steaming up the pages in the prologue.

This was a short novella, basically to introduce the characters and the back story. I rated it 3 stars for this reason, but I have a feeling as the books go on, the rating will continue to go up! This series has so much potential and I can't wait to continue it!

Ramona (Roni) is a musical major in a very competitive class when she starts to experience stomach pain which is hindering her ability to sing. She is referred from the health clinic to the hospital where she sees Dr. Frost who happens to be an oncologist.

This is the first part of a series which shows us that Roni is having an affair with her doctor and it begins the backstory to see how and why she got there and it does end on a cliffhanger. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

You always hear the saying when you go to the doctor...'Whatever you say here is confidential and will not be said to anyone else.'

You get to know Ramona and see how she got into the situation in the first place. I have to say the first page got me. It was hot and wasn't expecting that for the first page! From there it mainly is setting up the story line for the rest of the series.

I enjoyed the book, one thing i wish that it was a little quicker at telling the details of Ramona so we can meet and see more of Dexter. The book ended on a note that I needed so much more! It was a good quick read that I am interested in what more there is behind their story and to see what Dr. Dexter Frost and how they end up the situation they are together. Good job Eme Strife can't wait to see how it progresses!

Note: Copy provided in behalf of the author for an honest review

The first volume of this series deserves 5 STARS for its interesting characters, intriguing plotline, almost flawless storytelling, and promises of steaming hot scenes to come…

Ramona “Roni” Gallo is a 24-year-old music student who is in a desperate financial situation. Aside from her grandmother (who lives miles away) and best friend, she basically has no one to depend on—money matters or not. It doesn’t help that she has been worrying for an upcoming group performance or that she has been feeling ill for the past month and that being sick costs a lot. As if all these troubles aren’t worth worrying enough, her past she can’t deal with seems to resurface. Part of this past leaves her with the fear of falling in love. She used to have no difficulty with avoiding commitments and ignoring her attraction to the opposite sex. Then, there was a last minute change of physician…and then there was Doctor Dexter Frost…

"My greatest fear isn’t dying broke or starving to death or being alone for the rest of my life. Not even the thought of having maggots crawling out of my nose makes my system shut down like the thought of being deeply in love with someone."

I read this knowing that it is the first volume of a series and that it ends in a cliffhanger. I usually avoid reading books ending in cliffhangers unless I have secured the second book. I have made an exception with this one, obviously. Even If I am now dying with excitement to get a hold of that next volume, I can’t help but gush! This book will totally intrigue you and keep you so involved you wouldn’t want it to end!

That prologue is just awesome! Everyone is talking about Epic Epilogues (I include myself here) but what about Panty-melting Prologues??? The prologue is hot and all, but by the way that it was written, the author was clearly aiming to capture our interest and devour every page.

Short reads usually lack a well-paced story progression, which is vital in setting the mood of the narrative, and is linked with character development. I love that this one doesn’t sacrifice character development in order to stick with the intended length. I get to know a lot about Roni’s character by the end of this book. I decided early on in my reading that she’s definitely going to make it to my not-so-long list of favorite heroines. I still have questions about her, sure, but those questions just get me more and more curious, hooked, and intrigued. The characterization is just so powerful that even the secondary characters capture my interest. I crave to learn more about them in the coming books. My “literary instinct” rarely fails me so I believe this series is going to have endearing secondary characters as well. Although Doctor Frost’s character is only introduced by the last chapter, his literary presence is intense.

All in all, what makes this a great, short read is the good writing (how I love the word choice!) and characterization. If this first volume is just a taste of what’s yet to come, then I would definitely read the next volume!

"I look up to meet his eyes, and my breath catches in my throat as the iciest, coldest pair of eyes settle on mine. They’re beyond intimidating, and they seem to pierce through my very soul with their frosty, pale blue color. They give off this strangely intense vibe that I’ve never experienced before, and I can’t seem to look away from them. They’re alluring and enticing and frightening all at once. It’s almost like looking into the eyes of a beautiful serial killer. You know it will be the end of you, but can’t for the look of you look away."

I highly recommend this book to all the true-blooded New Adult lovers out there! As long as you can put up with a cliffhanger, this one’s for you.

I'm gonna say i didn't like this book but i cant say I loved it.
The beginning started so hot and heavy, but then dwindled from there. I'm hoping there is more steam to come in part to...which I will be reading to see what happens and as to how thus couple came to become lovers.
Roni is a 24 lead vocalist un her college music department
Dexter is the off limits but delicious doctor.
Book one gives u a run up on Roni but cuts just as we meet the naughty doctor himself, halfway through I was confused as to the age group this book was aimed for as some words just seemed more relevant to a younger audience but the background of the story is aimed at older.

I hope to be able to give the story when complete a higher rating. It is a nice quick read but does leave u wanting......

This novella felt lacking to me, although I liked the last chapter. As well as the first. This is a short read filled with the patients daily life. I expected from the blurb for this to be more of an erotic novella. But it was good overall.

I received the second one and will give it a try but don't think I'll be finishing the series. It's not my taste for too short novella to go on and on. Don't get me wrong it's not awful; I'm basing my dislike on it not drawing MY interest.

I was given the ARC for an honest review. I am not usually very good at writing these things however I like to think I am honest. I knew this book was going to be a novella in a series. The Prologue was undeniably hot. Going into Chapter one, I see that the author was "setting the stage" for the rest of the series. The only reason I give this a 4 Star instead of the 5 is because I would have liked to seen a little less of the character saying over and over that she is broke. I understand that, most college students are. Otherwise, I am a huge fan of cliffhangers and I really liked how there is one. I am going to purchase book 2 to continue on with the story.

This was a very quick, intriguing read. Be ready to want to read the rest of the series though as she leaves you hanging with her just meeting the man. Also I love the slow build I’m seeing from this so it was nice to see that she doesn’t meet the man within the first couple pages so we really get to know her as a character first and not her relationship possibilities. Great start to a series and I am excited to read more. On a side note I love Celtic Woman and Hayley Westenra, so the mention of them in the book as ones the main characters liked made me love her.

I really think this hot read is going to have great potential.

This first book in the the series was a little draggy at times with very long descriptions of things that aren't really important, but knowing what's to come because of the prologue, I know it's going to be worth it.

I kinda felt that Ramona was utterly depressing and she needs one hell of a "cheer me up". Enter Doctor Dexter Frost....even his name is incredibly hot. You just can't seem to help yourself.

I really am looking forward to part two of this mini series, especially since we know now how the hottie doctor is!

I usually don't read these type of books. Actually I didn't fully read the description before requesting it so I wasn't fully aware of its content until I received it. If I had been paying more attention I would have passed on the book. It was a short read. Not all topics in the story interested me so I skimmed through some pages. There are more sequels to this book. The ending is a cliffhanger so some will want to read another Volume. This book probably would be interesting to the young reader who desires to read erotica romance books such as this.

I'm a New Adult junkie, I just can't get enough. Maybe because I'm a New Adult myself, and it's fun to read about characters that are near my own age. So of course I jumped on the chance to review this when the author asked. And I was glad I did! I had a great time reading "Doctor-Patient Confidentiality." I liked the characters - they felt real. And already, I could feel the zing between the main character and the hero.

"Doctor-Patient Confidentiality" is a serialized novel. So prepare yourself going in - this first book is actually just 1/5th of the story. That said, this story definitely has potential and will suck you right in. I read this all in one sitting, and no, not just because it was shot. I was enjoying myself while reading it. I will definitely be looking into the rest of the series. Can't wait!

Cover Lovin': What a tease this cover is! I know I would look into it if I saw this while browsing the store or the store.

Recommendation: For fans of steamy new adult contemporary romance. But be prepared to desperately need the next one!

Final Rating: FOUR out of FIVE stars (4/5). Writing is excellent, the story had me hooked. I just wish there had been more!

This was a good read with steamy happenings going on. How one girls life changes with one visit to the Doctor. This is not a stand alone book. So prepare for a cliffhanger ending but I think it's worth the wait if you want to invest the time into reading all the books as they come out.

This is my first time read by Eme Strife and I thoroughly enjoyed this very catchy and intriguing story . I was not prepared for such a quick and short read , that would leave me hanging and wanting more of this .
This first part doesn 't give much away so now I just have to know to where Ms Strife will bring me with the next one .

I am not a fan of these multi instalment books. By the time you pay for all 10 install, ents, you’ve paid more then $40! To me, it’s a total rip off so I very seldom will read the first instalment, free or not, arc or not because the purpose is to draw you in and make you pay. I wouldn’t mind paying a fair price for a “good” read but this feels like being taken advantage of - so before I even start, this book is already in trouble for me.

I feel this book is really an introduction to the series so. I will say it is well written, and has some sexy, over the top scenes. It does what the author intends, it pulls the reader in and is a clever hook.I did not like the fact that majority of chapters were spent on the main female character daily activities. It became monotonous and frustrating especially when we were not introduced to the mystery doctor in until the last chapter. The author should do a box set - the price for all 10 is a bit ridiculous and I won’t be buying.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this story. This is the 1st in a series about Roni & Dec. They have a very kinky even taboo relationship. This is not a romance. If you're not into taboo then don't read it! Plot was good; I just don't like series. Good read over all.

Doctor-Patient Confidentiality has litte bit of everything. I must say it started out a little slow and I have to admit (at first) I was thinking man how am I going to get through this chapter? Much less the entire book and then write a review! HOWEVER, the story started to evolve and before I knew what hit me I was completely absorbed and turning those pages. Roni is such a mystery. What happened in her past that has her so terrified of love? Why is she so sick and what is Dr. Dangerous aka Dr. Dexter frost going to do about it? Eme Strife really knows how to grab your attention untill the very end!

She's advised to get herself some medical attention. Little did she know how much her world is about to change in ways she's not expecting. What is about to change? She runs away from any signs of love due to past - Dad had bad love life and Mom died(?). She has a physical pain goes to free clinic, gets a referral for ultrasound\scope, clinic doctor sends to brother, so there is no cost. The she meets HOT Dr. Frost. I want to read rest.

When I read the blurb for this book, I was immediately hooked. Having a sexual relationship with your doctor who's off limits sounds like a very hot read, and when I read the prologue, I was even more intrigued. It was hot and promised good things to come. When I read beyond that, I wasn't so sure anymore.

This book is about Roni, a college student who's majoring in music and a lead in two different departments of music, which makes her a very hated and envied public enemy, but she's been having bursts of pain lately that make her visit a doctor for a check-up.

This book is short, I knew this before I went into reading it. I was expecting it to be short and fast and for the action to start from the first page and just keep going until the book ended in a cliffhanger. While I do hate cliffhangers as much as the next person, it does add a bit of excitement to every book. The only thing Doctor-Patient Confidentiality delivered was the cliffhanger. In 117 pages and thirteen chapters, four chapters were spent describing Roni's journey from her car to her locker. The following nine chapters weren't much different. Things moved so slowly and nothing interesting happened. What kept me reading was the hope that she was going to meet the doctor soon and that maybe things would go faster from there, but nope. Roni's meeting with the doctor was all of five pages in the book-yes, I counted them- and then boom, the book ends with him introducing himself.

I was really disappointed when I finished this book. While I hate cheating, both in books and in real life, there has been a few books featuring cheating that I liked, and I was hoping this would be one of them. I don't know if this will be one of them considering we still haven't reached that point, but after reading the prologue, I really thought I would. So why am I not giving this book one star? It's because of the authors writing. It was smooth and flowed and even though nothing much happened in this book, I still wasn't bored with it and it didn't make me want to stop reading and that takes talent. Do I want to read the next book? Hmm, I am interested in what happens next, and I do want to know where this goes, but I'm afraid that the next book will not be much better and that it will just end up describing everything that is not important.

The book captivated me from the first page and the only downfall is that it was so short. I will be reading the other books as well when I find some time. It is a book for new adults though. There is an explicit scene in there, that may not be suited for the younger age group.

Ramona is a very talented singer who has a legacy that most jealous students think that is the reason she is gets the top position and the professor's favor. She is picked on and then after having some medical issues she decided to see a doctor and the sparks fly.

This story is a serial spread out among several books. This part one and it does have a cliff hanger, so in order to enjoy the story you will need to read the other books following. I felt the story is good but I feel there should be more description in it. This book to me felt more like a conversation, not that is a bad thing.
