I love all of Lynsay Sands Argeneue series, but this one did not live up to the others. Too long getting to the point, some parts were funny, but over all I am a little disappointed. I expect to be wowed in the next one.

I am a big fan of Lindsay Sands and have read all her books. This was a great read and I really enjoyed it. Was a little disappointed with how it ended. It seemed like it needed a few more chapters. However it was still a great book and I recommend reading it for the fun factor.

I couldn't even get halfway through the book without laughing. It intrigued me from page one till the end. I went to the book store and got the next one! Lynsay Sands is my new favorite vampire romance author.

Ugh! What a waste of time it was to read this book. I kept waiting for things to get better. How can a girl fall in love with a guy who lies to her their whole relationship for his own selfish gain? The hero in this book seemed like a total wimp who couldn't control his own life and let other people make every single decision he made. Pass on this one.

I love this author for her consistantly sweet, easy reads. Her series interconects without feeling like you've missed anything, and each book can stand alone, though you always see former characters. I highly recommend this series.

This was another wonderful book written by Lynsay Sands. I love that you get to know all the characters from one book and see them again in the other books. They are romantic, funny and have a hint of mystery. I have loved all her Argeneau novels.

An almost divorced woman finds herself in Honeymoon hell on vacation with 2 of her friends. Carolyn is normally very reserved and quiet, yet on her first night of vacation she makes a new set of friends. This progresses into a new Group of friends and so much more.
I loved this book! So many funny moments, and I was literally laughing out loud.
Christian, wow! He did not give up on his woman that is for sure.
I was not prepared for the ending. Heck, I thought I still have more book to go- I was not paying attention that i was nearing the end. I wouldn't say it was a cliff-hanger, and I wouldn't say it was a "all wrapped up" ending either. Its somewhere in between.
With this being a series, you really don't have to read the books in order ( I don't, I read them pretty much as I get them). But it may help you to know some of the characters before hand.

Unlike most of my fellow "Vine-ers" - I've read this entire series & enjoyed most of Sands' books. I think to be a better reviewer of this book - you need to be an actual reader of this series & not read this book independently because it helps to know the back stories of Christian, Marguerite, Julius, and so on.

Anyway - as a fan of this series...I found "Under A Vampire Moon" not to be nearly as strong of a story as a lot of her other Argeneau books. Way too much time was spent building (and building) up the premise of Carolyn being hurt from a prior relationship and how Christian (her "life mate") needed to woo her in a way that she would perceive as non-threatening. So the answer was having Carolyn pretend to be his "beard" (a faux girlfriend to a gay man so he'd be viewed as straight). It just seemed so "Three's Company"...and wrapped itself up in an unbelievable way. This wasn't an awful book but it also wasn't her best.

The good news is at the end of the book - a preview of the next involving Jeanne Louise - looks quite promising.

Trying to find some peace while going through a messy divorce after escaping from a horrible marriage full of lies and betrayal, Carolyn Connor had lost any kind of self-esteem she might have once had. As a consequence, she was depressed and had no intention of even thinking about men let alone "getting laid" as her friend Bethany had suggested. The island of St. Lucia was an island paradise but was actually reinforcing Carolyn's inadequacies with all the honeymooners who seemed to make up the major portion of the cliental at the resort. Then Carolyn met Marguerite Argeneau, famous for her matchmaking prowess and recognized at once that she was the perfect life mate for her son Christian Notte.

*** The Argeneau Vampire series is one of my favorite series specifically because of the humor author Lynsay Sands consistently and thoroughly loads each tome with along with outrageous scenarios, and laugh out loud dialogs. Although most recognize the Argeneau family as vampires, this is a misnomer for they are really immortals who go all the way back to the lost civilization of Atlantis. [Read the earlier books in this series to fully understand the connection].

The gimmick used in this series was pretty good where Christian knew without a doubt that Carolyn was his life mate but he had to overcome a couple of really tough hurdles in order to convince Carolyn to even spend time with him. First of all even though Christian is over 500 years old, he appears to look like a 25 year old. Carolyn is 42 - slightly overweight and embarrassed by the fact that she is attracted, yet old enough to be Christian's mother. More importantly, she had been badly burned by her failed marriage. There is no way Carolyn would be comfortable enough to even get to know Christian, that is until Christian's cousin convinces Carolyn that Christian is GAY and needs a beard [a straight girl who pretends in public to be dating a normal guy] in order to convince his family that he is straight. Naturally, Christian is not in the least gay and his unruly private `package' is not making it any easier to convince Carolyn that he is.

Bottom Line: This is a fun read with hot sensuality and some really funny scenarios. It turns into a very fast read as well, because you hate to put it down. Fans of Sands will certainly enjoy this latest offering in the Argeneau series.

Another strong addition to the Argeneau Vampire Series, this one with delightfully less of the slapstick which has plagued some of the enforcer novels. Under a Vampire Moon stars Christian Notte, whom we found out a few books back was the love child of Marguerite Argeneau and Julius Notte. When that couple is on their long belated honeymoon on the Caribbean Island of St. Lucia Marguerite happens upon 42 year old divorcee, Carolyn, who is trying to get away from the trauma of a sham marriage with friends who are neglecting her in the honeymooners paradise. Suspecting that this is the life mate for her last unmarried child, she tells Julius who hauls not only his son to the island but also Christians band mates who happen to be his cousins. The introduction of all these new relatives was a little jarring as at first you had very little description to paint a picture of them with.

Carolyn is uncertain and slightly uncomfortable hanging out with all of the Argeneau/Notte's as she feels they are all at least 15 years younger than her. Because of that and baggage on her self-esteem left from her former husband she isn't interested in getting to know Christian who hangs around with her out in the tropical sunshine and when his band finishes playing at night. I won't spoil the plot for you but without using any kind of mind control the cousins help to convince Carolyn to hang around with Christian in a platonic way in order to help him out of a situation. Honestly even though this twist was a bit weird it made a lot more sense than some of the other far fetched plot devices that have been used in the series- and I'm still a fan enjoying the series thoroughly. Eventually love conquers all including a light bit of deceit which we've also come to expect from the author. This read won't be one you sigh over for years to come but it's certainly a read that will keep your attention.

The entirety of Under a Vampire Moon: An Argeneau Novel takes place on St. Lucia. Even if I didn't adore Lynsay Sands, which I do, and didn't love this book in particular, which I did, I would still think that UNDER A VAMPIRE MOON is good for Saint Lucia. Seriously, Anse Chastanet and Jade Mountain aren't mentioned by name but I've taken the liberty of extrapolating and put the island and these resorts at the top of my list for our thirtieth wedding anniversary in January. What a gorgeous place! Really, Lynsay could be a travel writer!

Besides the lush tropical setting, a first for the Argeneau Vampire series, I am always impressed by Lynsay's ability to take the underlying story pattern for the series and make it something fresh and new with each book. Among the many who make the attempt at formula series writing, there are few writers who I find do this effectively, Lynsay and Lara Adrian are two of my favorites. I gobble these books up as soon as possible. While there is an underlying structure they build each book from the ground up with new plots, additional well-defined [for this story, smart and mostly fun] characters and awesome locations. It's like getting a present from a favorite chocolatier--you know whatever in the box is going to be good even if the bon-bon mix is different.
Lynsay takes us to this exotic locale and describes it in perfect detail, you can practically hear the waves on the beach. She adds the familiar Marguerite Argeneau with her uncanny knack for finding her relatives special life mates, and her new-old husband. And then she brings in some cousins and her long lost, recently rediscovered, son into the mix.

The way to romance here is very different and sensitively skirts the edges of a tricky issue; being in the closet. If she was less deft, this could be disastrous. But she is adept at carrying it off.
There's a great twist with only a very slight foreshadowing. The denial that a mate has been found is less in this story than previous stories. Maybe Marguerite's family has finally suggested her uncanny abilities. There's a new angle here.

One reason I like Lynsay's series so much is that she has the most sensible reasoning behind vampiric immortality I've read. And, I read about vampires a lot. It makes the suspension of disbelief easier for me because I think her theory is mostly plausible and she has really had good continuity throughout the series. She has not, as far as I can recall, used a last minute loophole to get around a disaster in any of the 16 books in the series. I don't always need "sensible" but once in a while it's nice.

And, I also love the way the youthful physical nature of characters contrasts with the calendar age of the characters. For example, Marguerite looks the same age as her son but there's no disguise for her maternal nature and the wisdom of seven centuries. Leads disparity leads to all kinds of interesting quirks in conversation and behavior.
Now, look, I'm not saying it's Shakespeare. I prefer Lynsay to Janet Evanovich-- I think her story telling skills and writing are much better. It is book-candy, but it's balm for the mind and soul. And, book-candy hasn't any calories!
For Paranormal Romance Aficionados this is an absolute MUST READ!

Lynsay Sands comes up with another Argeneau winner. I didn't realize when I selected Under a Vampire Moon An Argeneau Novel to read that it was in a series. I believe the best authors are those that can write a series book, but can make the individual volume a great read as well. Sands does this with great plot writing and character development.

The main characters in this saga are Christian Notte and his life mate Carolyn Connor. They find themselves on honeymoon island, but for very different reasons. Christian plays in the band and Carolyn's friends think she needs a break after her long awaited divorce finally comes to fruition. Sands doesn't take long for her plot to throw our two protagonists together, but of couse love can never be that easy. Christian is an immortal that drinks blood and has the looks of a 25 year old hottie, and Carolyn is an aging 42 year old divorcée with a lot of mental hang-ups about "love at first sight."

As our characters get to know each other and the passions fly, they both try to avoid scaring the other away as Carolyn's fears that her passions for Christian will cause the young gay boy to flee in total disgust; and Christian's fears that Carolyn can't overcome the age difference of his 500 years and her 42. The book is full of the passion and love that Sands' novels have come to be known for as well as the romantic chase that evolves. And of course, like all good romance novels this finishes with a "happy ending", but throws in another character twist that was definitely unexpected. You will just have to pick this one up to see which character is more than he or she really seems to be.

Forty-two year old Carolyn is treating herself to a trip to St. Lucia with some girlfriends to celebrate her divorce from a rotten husband. When Carolyn shares a table in a crowded restaurant with Marguerite Argeneau and her once and again husband Julius Notte, Carolyn doesn't realize her life is about to change forever. Marguerite has a knack for match-making in her vampire family and realizes almost immediately that sweet Carolyn would be the perfect life mate for her son Christian. Christian has long looked forward to finding a life mate and is very eager to meet Carolyn but he quickly realizes that Carolyn is definitely not looking for another relationship. She is so gun-shy after her horrible marriage that Christian is afraid that she will bolt if he tries to make any moves. Soon a desperate Christian finds himself mixed up in a ridiculous plan spun by his overly helpful family. If he pretends to be gay will a skittish Carolyn allow herself to relax around him, get to know him, and maybe even fall in love with him?

I'm a longtime fan of author Lynsay Sand's Argeneau Family series. This book, Under a Vampire Moon, is book number sixteen. The books in the Argeneau series have run the gauntlet from laugh out loud funny to more serious and this book, Under a Vampire Moon, is more of the more funny ones. Christian's family comes up with a plan to get him close to Carolyn so she can get to know him but that prevents him from getting as close as he would like and places him in funny predicaments that try his frayed patience. Time and time again, Christian thinks he is about to make some progress with Carolyn only to have something happen that leaves him alone and frustrated. He even ends up with a human rival in the shape of the wonderful human character, Captain Jack. Carolyn is a sweet character who deserves more out of life. The plan to make Christian into a safe, gay friend that she can learn to love is a bit of a stretch, I think, but it sure succeeded in putting Christian through a hilarious ringer. It was great to see Marguerite Argeneau again since she is one of my favorite characters in the series. Christian's band mates are also add more fun to the story. There is even a bit of a mysterious threat to Carolyn to keep everyone hopping although I thought it was glossed over a little at the end.

Overall, Under a Vampire Moon, was a funny read and a great installment in a wonderfully fun series. Christian is the perfect patient knight in shining armor to his sweet, yet strong and loving Carolyn. And happily ever after is reached after a lot of hilarious predicaments and a somewhat inept villian are overcome. My copy of Under a Vampire Moon was an advance uncorrected proof which I received from the store Vine for the purposes of review.

Under a Vampire Moon is Lynsay Sands' 16th Argeneau vampire book! I remember back in 2005 when I first picked up A Quick Bite (book one) and was instantly hooked by her humor, wit and swoon-worthy heroes.

Under a Vampire Moon combines Sands' hilarious writing style with reluctant hero Christian Notte. Christian's family is bound and determined to help him win his life mate, Carolyn. Unfortunately, their help seems to be doing ... well, something, because it included telling Carolyn that Christian isn't into women to get her to relax around him and get to know him. Add to that the fact that Carolyn is divorced and is about 20 years older than Christian looks (vampire genes!) and they all have their work cut out for them.

The first of many lies (Christian being gay, of course) lands Christian and his family in a series of humorous misunderstandings and situations. Carolyn's reaction to finding out the lies is a bit far-fetched. She had just come out of a drawn-out divorce with her cheating, lying ex, after all. But, then again, being an immortal who looks 25 is a bit different than someone marrying you for your money.
What I love about this book is that it's based on humor, which is what I feel the Argeneau books are based on. Sands' Rouge Hunter novels (also Argeneau books) aren't as funny and have a bit more severity to them. Under a Vampire Moon definitely swung to the amusing side, and I was glad I picked it up.

A lot of contemporary romance authors write heroines who have flaws (though I am not saying age is a flaw!), and I love the way Sands worked with Carolyn and Christian's perceived age difference. It wasn't overly mentioned or pushed past too quickly. I felt comfortable with it, while not being constantly knocked on the head about it.
Now on to what everyone really wants to know: the steam! Vampires are, of course, sexy as sin. Then you have a 500+-year-old vampire in a 25-year-old body? You know where this is going. Carolyn herself is more worldly than a young heroine, and the two have enough attraction to cause a small earthquake. The bedroom scenes are well-done once Carolyn fully lets go, and they only serve to enhance, not take over, the plot.
If you love vampires, misunderstandings, true love and great secondary characters, I highly recommend starting the Argeneau series. This book can be read as a stand-alone, but you will enjoy it so much more if you start from the beginning.

I think I may have been at a slight disadvantage with this being my first Lindsey Sands book and this is clearly a long running series, but I was able to pick up on it very quickly. I absolutely loved the camaraderie between the characters and the romance was simply adorable. I had several laugh out loud moments and am definitely curious about back stories. I'm not sure if there are more intense installments, but this book came across as light, sometimes campy, and an overall fun read.

After a long divorce battle, 42 year old Carolyn Connor goes on vacation with her two best gal pals from college in St Lucia where one of them already works. The only one missing on the trip is her gay friend Brent and she misses him dearly. Her friends are convinced that fun in the sun, lots of cocktails and a torrid affair is the perfect cure for her blues. Carolyn, extremely uncomfortable in social situations, thinks a man is the last thing she needs, especially a gorgeous young man who's practically young enough to be her son, but when she meets Christian Notte, she's horrified by her reaction to him and decides to avoid his hungry looks along with everything else about him. Christian has found his life mate in Carolyn, but she's more than skittish around him and can't handle his sexual intensity. She can't even have a conversation with him, so how will he win her trust to tell her he's immortal, drinks blood, and that she's his heart? Christian is determined to never lie to Carolyn, so his family reverts to drastic measures to alleviate Carolyn's nerves by telling her Christian is gay.

I wouldn't say this is the most original story, but it had some wonderful moments and Christian and Carolyn are fantastic. The cast was absolutely charming and the relationship moves at a realistic pace up until the end which I thought was wrapped up a little too quickly. Although Carolyn is a damaged soul, it was great to see her come out of her shell demonstrating pluck and a quirkiness that worked really well with the craziness that is the Argeneau family. I was expecting there to be danger or threats that would bring about the alpha in Christian, but jealousy was just as entertaining. I will definitely check out other installments of this series.

Carolyn "Caro" Connor is vacationing with her friend (Bethany) while she awaits her final divorce decree. Feeling slightly insecure, St. Lucia does not seem to be the ideal destination since it is filled with happy honeymooners and lovers. When Bethany falls ill, Caro finds herself left to her own devices which includes acting as "beard" for a hot, young boy band member (Christian). What she doesn't know is that she is in fact Christian's lifemate. Wooing her, while slowly revealing what he is (an immortal that drinks blood) and what he is not (gay), is what Christian intends to do. But getting Caro to overlook their age difference, leave her failed marriage in the past, and trust her heart is going to be a challenge, especially when it seems that the forces are against them.

This was my first Lydsay Sands novel, and it probably won't be the last. "Under the Vampire Moon" was entertaining and funny. However, since this was my first novel by this author or in the series, I was not familiar with some of the ins and outs of the series. Therefore, there were some aspects of the story that I would have liked explained or some background at least provided. My only complaint was that there were times that the story seemed to drag slightly although I understood that Sands was trying to create a picture, but at times it was a little corny (campy) and cheapened it. Overall, I give this story a 3.5 or 4. It was funny, and had a decent although obvious plot (you will be able to figure out the twists and turns) with tons of sex and charm.

Reviewed by Francesca & posted at Under the Covers Book Blog

So I have a confession to make. I am not up to date with this series (maybe I'm about half way through it) and decided to take on reading this book out of order because I LOVE CHRISTIAN! So I figured, what could it hurt? And I was pleasantly surprised that this was it's own little story in the Argeneau/Notte world so I had no problem jumping right in.'

Now that being said and from my feelings on the past books in this series I feel that the cute charm this series had at the beginning is somewhat back! Yes, I thought this book was cute and funny at times, sweet and sexy. I mean you really can't go wrong when you throw Christian in a situation where he has to pretend to be gay to get with his life mate!

Christian first of all is possessive, sexy as hell, alpha, passionate, I could go on. His longuish hair and male-model good looks had me swooning, as well as our heroine Carolyn. Carolyn is actually a bit older so she struggles with being attracted to Christian and feeling like a cougar, and on top of that there's the fact that she believes he is gay and is "playing his girlfriend" to help him out.

And then there's the Notte's! The side characters are a hoot. Marguerite I've always loved and she didn't disappoint this time trying her best to make things work for her son. She is an expert matchmaker after all. But the one that stole the show was Zanipolo. LOL When Carolyn thinks he's the gay one he goes through a whole identity crisis to prove to her that she's not.

I do feel like we could've used at least an epilogue. The explanation of what they are and all that comes late in the book and I feel that part was rushed and couldn't really find her quick acceptance believable. But then again, she had already been experiencing Christian's skills, blacking out after sex, the sex dreams, and of course Christian's ummmm cucumber was it?

Marguerite Argeneau is famous for her talent for finding lifemates for her immortal family..
and this time it's her 1st son's turn, Christian, as the Argeneau clan are vacationing in St. Lucia..
Christian and some of his cousins have a band that is performing at the resort they are staying at,
everything arranged by his mother, Marguerite and his father, Julius Notte..

Christian doesn't know how to woo and win his lifemate, so the "hunt" begins with the help of his family..

this book is the latest of the series and i feel like i know the whole family!

i love how Lynsay makes her characters really fun, even though they have vampire characteristics; immortal, fangs, sleeping during the day,
needing to drink bagged blood to live, the power to read thoughts and control minds, but yet they are very human..
they can eat and drink human food when they are with their lifemates and cannot read or control their lifemates..

i like Lynsay's style of using an ancient technology (nanos from the labs of Atlantis) to create a race of vampire creatures that are
so different from the rest of traditional or mainstream vampire stories..

I don't usually read novels in a series out of order. I really dislike doing that but I had the opportunity to receive this novel as an ARC. There's no way I can read over 15 books in front of this one and get my review in before the publishing date so I had to break my rule and read the Argeneau series out of order.

I enjoyed the way this one unfolded and I found that it was paced fairly well. I liked all of the characters and found they really gave this one that extra something. Not really knowing anything about the characters before coming into this really didn't seem to matter all that much. I feel like I might be missing a little bit of the backe story but not enough to confuse me or leave me frustrated that I'm missing something.

One thing that did seem to feel a little off was towards the ending when Carolyn just sort of did a 180 on what she was normally like throughout the book. I enjoyed it and I thought finally she's being more realistic, well I guess as one can be in that sort of situation, but it still felt a little off. Through the whole book she was fighting herself and then just to say, meh- whatever felt off.

That being said. I feel I may have found a new series to jump into. I'll definitely be starting from the beginning on this one. I'd love to read more and see how this comes together. I really do want to learn more about the Argeneau and Notte family.

"Another great Lynsay Sands book in the Argeneau series that was a thoroughly enjoyable read!

Close to having her divorce finalized, Caroline Conner has been persuaded by two of her friends to take a vacation in St. Lucia at the resort where her friend Genie is the entertainment coordinator. At 42 and in a hotel full of young honeymooners, she is feeling decidedly uncomfortable, especially since her traveling companion, Bethany, keeps insisting that she should have a fling while they are there! Fate (or nanos) intervenes, and she is seated with the infamous matchmaker Marguerite Argeneau and her newlywed husband, Julian, while waiting for a dinner table. Before they are even seated for dinner, Marguerite has placed a phone call to her son Christian, instructing him and his band to come to St. Lucia.

Caroline is appalled by her attraction to the much younger looking Christian, and determined to avoid him at all costs. Reading her mind, Christian's cousin Gia decides to get Caroline over her discomfort around Christian by telling her that he's gay and needs her to be his "beard" while he's there, thus giving them a chance to get to know each other! Christian is none too happy about this, but sees the advantages, while poor Caroline is now appalled because she's lusting after a gay man!

This book was laugh out loud funny, and I'd definitely recommend it for a fun, light read!"

Under a Vampire Moon by Lynsay Sands
*A review copy of this book was received from Edelweiss in exchange for an honest review*

Carolyn is on a much needed vacation with her friend Bethany at the resort their friend Genie works at. She is going through a bad divorce that has left her lacking self-esteem. The only problem, the resort is full of honeymooning couples, including Marguerite and Julius Notte and Bethany has been sick so Carolyn is left on her own. She never dreamed her world would change when she accepted the offer to dine with Marguerite and Julius on her first night there.

Christian and his band were called in to help Genie out at the resort. His mother realized that his life mate was on the island and it was the perfect excuse to get him there. With the help of his cousin Gia and his family he sets out to gain the trust of his life mate. The only catch, she thinks she is acting as his "beard" around his family. It gets harder and harder to keep up the charade the more time he spends with Carolyn because she makes him laugh and he enjoys her company.

I loved Carolyn. She's an older woman that has real life experience, even if it wasn't the best. She has had to overcome so much to get to where she is now and with Christian's help, she will have finally have the life she deserves. It was nice to see her grow and become comfortable in her own skin. I do think she accepted Christian's explanation a little too easy; he should've had to work at it a little more.

Christian is one of my favorite of Marguerite's sons. He is super sexy, yet he has to play a gay guy in order to get his life mate to trust him. She has a serious issue with the age difference but doesn't realize how much older he really is. These two had some great moments that had me laughing out loud, they are super-hot together too.

One of my favorite things about this book was that a lot of my favorite characters made an appearance without getting in the way of the main story with Christian and Carolyn. The secondary characters just enhanced their story. The setting was beautiful and Captain Jack was hilarious. The story may have been full of humor but it also had plenty of steam to satisfy everyone.

Overall I really enjoyed this installment and can't wait to read the next one. I give Under a Vampire Moon 4 Flaming Hearts.

So, I've read some, but by no means all, of Lynsay Sands books in this universe, and this one seems to be very much in the vein of the others: fairly frivolous, preposterous, and really just fun. It's a supernatural romantic comedy; this one is more openly farcical than some (particularly, say, in one cousin's prolonged dismay at being thought to be "the gay one"), but it's not so farcical that I couldn't feel some connection for Christian and Carolyn and develop some genuine interest in the outcome of the plot. It's a popcorn read - not deep, but an entertaining way to pass a few pleasant hours.

While there are a few elements you just kind of have to put up with in this type of book - don't expect any of the characters to take a deeply nuanced and thoughtful approach to problem-saving - the one point that actually kind of diminished my pleasure was the one serious element. I won't spoil it, but as the book progressed it became obvious that there was an undercurrent of mystery afoot, and I became genuinely interested to find out what was going on. The resolution of that mystery was far too quick to be satisfying to me. Frankly, in any kind of mirror of reality, that should have been a deeply traumatic and hurtful experience in itself. The kind of thing that launches a few billion hours of therapy. It just doesn't work as a sidenote in the "happily ever after".

Still, while I wasn't that happy with the landing point, I enjoyed the journey overall. I laughed occasionally, smiled often, and happily frittered away a few hours. If you're looking for a deep plot or rich characterization, this book probably won't make you happy. If there's room in your repertoire for the literary equivalent of cotton candy, it may be.

But don't ever - and I mean EVER - let Carolyn hook you up. That woman is a seriously bad judge of character.

Forty something divorcee Carolyn Connor vacations with her best friend Bethany on St. Lucia. Also there are life mates Julius and Marguerite Argeneau-Notte. When Marguerite sees Carolyn, she knows the mortal is her son Christian's life mate.

Marguerite asks Christian to come to St. Lucia. They realize that Carolyn has relationship phobia issues as she still hurts from her divorce and besides she refuses to date a much younger man like Christian. She is unaware that instead of being in his twenties as he looks, he is a several century old vampire. The vamps agree he must go slowly to keep his beloved from bolting. To buy time his cousin Gia comes up with a preposterous plan for Christian to pretend to be gay so she can ask Carolyn to pretend to be his lover allegedly to keep his sexual preference from his family. The only flaw in the scheme is Christian cannot conceal his attraction to Carolyn.

The latest Argeneau vampire romance (see The Reluctant Vampire and The Bite Before Christmas) is a fun tale that has a 1930s madcap comedy (including the dream sex) feeling to the plot. Although Carolyn's reticence is explained way too late to appreciate why she hesitates through most of the storyline, fans of the saga will enjoy this fast-paced comedy of errors.

Another really fun read from Lynsay. I love these Argeneau books. It is a testament to Lynsay's talent that she write a believable story line where these guys are so old and yet so clueless in the workings of modern day life. Such enjoyable reads. I'm now awaiting the arrival of The Lady Is A Vamp and I'm sure it's going to be just as entertaining as all the previous novels in this series have been.
Marguerite and Julius are in St. Lucia on their honeymoon when they meet Carolyn, a 42 yr old woman in the process of a divorce. Marguerite recognizes Carolyn as their son, Christian's life mate. As would have it, Genie, Carolyn's friend and entertainment director of the resort, has had the booked band cancel at the last moment. Quick on her feet, Marguerite enlisted Christian and his band to fill in.
The band (all cousins) arrives and the games begin. Carolyn is attracted to Christian but he is SO much younger than she. Gia (cousin and singer) sets a plan in motion for Christian and Carolyn to spend time together by saying Christian is gay and the family won't understand so could Carolyn pretend to be his cover. Stopping here - I hope you pick it up and enjoy! It is comical in many scenes.

Under a Vampire Moon by Lynsay Sands
Argeneau Vampires Book 16
Christian Notte's life has changed over the last year. He found his mother and gained a whole new family. His parents, Julius and Marguerite Argeneau Notte, have married now. The only downside is that Christian has been watching as so many in his new family have found their life mates and a happiness he envies. When his mom calls and wants his band that he has with his cousins to come to a St. Lucia resort...his first thought is she has found his life mate. A knack that Marguerite seems to have. When he meets this woman she seems to be attracted to him but afraid of their age difference so his cousin Gia comes up with a way to have them spend time together without the fear of a relationship.

Carolyn Connor is with her friend Beth and their other friend Genie who works at the resort. When Beth suddenly takes ill Carolyn is on her own until she meets a young couple on their honeymoon and the new band members. The more Caro gets to know Christian, the more she wishes he is someone that she could be in a real relationship with. She enjoys his company and he is oh so handsome. Coming out of a miserable marriage where she had been deceived she really was not looking for more.

Another great book in this series. Lynsay does a great job of bringing back characters that we met in previous books along with meeting more relatives that will hopefully have stories in future books. As always they are full of humor and a good chase.

Reading Under a Vampire Moon is like coming home for a family reunion. Considering we have sixteen Argeneau books now, our author still brings us a wonderful romance with something new and unique to keep our interest. I must say I just love theses books and have read everything Lynsay Sands has written to date. Now to wait for my next fix.

Carolyn Connor is on a much needed vacation but as fate would have it she has been plunged into a Honeymoon Resort by her loving friends. Trying to take her mind off her divorce which is in the final stages doesn't keep her mind from waundering everytime she looks in any direction at loving couples in the throws of newly wedded bliss. How cruel can fate be?

Christian Notte has just found out from his mother that she has found his lifemate in the most romantic of places. Unfortunately for Christian his beloved is gun shy of men, has no intention of placing herself in said company of any male for fear of being hurt again. Can Christian convince Carolyn that she is his life, love and soul without scaring her off. Let's hope so.

The story is like coming home to see family members again, catching up on old times while creating new relationships and memories. This installment is just another piece of a puzzle being put together slowely and lovingly. I just can't get enough of Lynsay Sands and her wonderful Argeneau's.

Lyndsay Sands has always been one of my stand-by authors (when none of my favorite authors having anything to read I'll catch up on what she has written). This book was a light, easy read. There wasn't too much depth to Christian or Caro (other than Caroline's angst about being older than he was) and there were the requisite periphery characters that are ripe for their own books. The antagonist in this book seemed like more of a throw-away after thought; it was more like a desperate attempt to create some kind of struggle for the characters (other than their getting over the immortal vs. human dilemma) and ended up not being necessary. The book would have remained the same without that story line or conclusion. Sands is always good for chuckles throughout her books and this one was no exception. If you want a quick easy to get through read this is a good choice. It is not a complete immersion into a tale but it is a light diversion.

I am giving this four stars altough it did not measure up to what I have come to expect from The Argeneau vampires and Lydsay Sands. It was trite, ridiculous, and a little boring. While I still loved Christian I found the whole story unbelievable. Not only the gay issue but the quick way Caroline accepted the vampire/immortal story as if it was not only possible but probable. Where did all that come from? She may have loved Christian but how could she just accept what he was and the entire explanation in about two pages?

Caroline's husband, her gay friend, her malicious girlfriend, her almost lover where empty characters like fillers. All the help from the Argeneau family also wore thin. You would think that they had not been through this enough times to understand the situation and what to do better than they did. It just made no sense.

The sex was ok but not great and it was just a repeat of how it always happens without anything to get anyone's blood hot. I even skimmed through some of this trying to find a good part, but alas while it was enjoyable, it really was not a memorable part of this series. I feel bad because I really liked Christian and wanted this to be a better story for him and his newly found family.

This book is about Christian Notte, the only one of Marguerite Argeaneau's not to have found a life mate. While she and her new husband Julius are on their honeymoon in St. Lucia she meets Carolyn and immediately decides the woman is perfect for Christian. Luckily their resort needs a band at the last minute and Marguerite volunteers Christian's band.
Through series of calculated moves by his mother and cousins Carolyn ends up believing that Christian is gay. They fall in love. He tells her the truth. Carolyn decides that she wants to be with him. But, Carolyn also finds out that her friend, Bethany is being manipulated by Carolyn con artist soon-to-be ex-husband, Robert, into trying to get Carolyn to commit suicide. Bethany thinks that she is in love with Robert. Carolyn gets her friend, Genie to tell Bethany everything about Robert. Carolyn decides to do nothing about either Robert or Bethany.
That is where the book ends. This story felt like it was only 3/4ths finished. So many questions were left unanswered! When does Robert get his just desserts? How do Carolyn's friends react after she inevitably turned? Etc. A lot more could have been done with this book and the plot within it!

Under a Vampire Moon (Argeneau 16) by Lynsay Sands
This one is for the fans. Do not read this one first. While some of the others can be read stand-alone this book cuts out almost all the backstory explanations and if you haven't read any of the others you will probably miss out on a lot. However, if you are like me, a rabid fan of this series, you will absolutely adore Christians and Carolyn's story. I read this in one sitting. Like all the other Argeneau books this one has "an immortal" Christian meeting his life mate. Carolyn. Carolyn is a recent divorce' an escapee from a verbal and emotionally abusive marriage. She thinks she is much older than Christian and is not the type to do a boy-toy. With the help of Julius, Marguerite, and his Italian cousins Christian has to convince Carolyn that he is the one for her.
With Ms. Sands trademark sense of humor, impeccable timing, romance and mystery this is another terrific addition to the Argeneau series.

I love this whole series. I agree with another reviewer you really need to start from the beginning to really enjoy this book. My only problem with this book is that I think it took too long building up the story. I get that the Carolyn had a bad marriage and she thinks she is too old to date Christian.....That said the book spends a lot of time building this up to the point I wanted to scream...It keeps reminding you Carolyn wouldn't be able to handle the fact that Christian is an immortal. So most of the book they are handling her with kid gloves. In the last 50 pages it she learns he is an immortal and is able to handle that and the lifemate business and all. That alone makes all the building they are doing seem unnecessary. The villain "friend" at the end seemed just thrown in there. I do wonder why she is being so negative when she finds out Carolyn is hanging with Christian but not to the point I think she is out to make Carolyn kill herself. That part could have been edited out. That said I got to catch up reading....somewhere I got out of order...

Sands' series is in the double digits - it's amazing how many relatives Vampires can have over centuries...

This is a comfortable story with a lot of humor - Carolyn, the female protag, finally takes a vacation after ending a horrible marriage. But then her hormones go wild over this sexy band member who is much to young for her...she's no cougar! The problem is, he's just as interested in her, and Christian just isn't sure how to convince Carolyn she's just perfect for him. She's his life mate - something not many vampires actually find in their eternal lives.

I have issues with Sands' storylines - I've found too many glaring inconsistencies - like whether or not they eat food and why, for example - to enjoy the books completely.

However, this one was definitely funny. I think for followers of the series this is a great entry.

For everyone familiar with Ms. Sands' writing style, this one is par for the course, and that's not a bad thing - she truly has a knack for creating highly charismatic characters, witty dialogue, and fairly intense chemistry. Happily, all of those elements are present in her newest offering.

Carolyn is a terrific character in terms of how real and relatable she is. She is a 42-year-old divorcee who has been badly burned (emotionally) by her ex; her self-confidence is at all-time low, and she's naturally wary of meeting new guys. However, though we are privy to her less-than-flattering thoughts about herself and her prospects, she is not a dull, depressed character. Instead, she mixes those painful views with a lot of cleverness. In short, were she a real person, she'd be someone whom pretty much anyone would want to befriend.

Christian is fantastic - he's gorgeous (as heroes tend to be), and he's so sweet and devoted to Carolyn right off the bat that it's truly a pleasure to read. I've mentioned this in other reviews, but the trope of having an alpha male who is entirely resistant to love and fights it at every turn can get a bit old sometimes, so reading books in which that is turned on its head - where it is the H who is instantly smitten, while the heroine's issues lead to initial hesitance on her part - is a very welcome change of pace.

The interaction between these two characters is, by turns, sparkling and hot. From the onset, there is a depth of caring and desire felt by both of them, and we get to follow along as they truly get to know one another (courtesy of a plot hatched by Christian's funny and supportive family) before their relationship takes a physical turn, which lends the situation a certain sense of realism mixed with the less-than-normal circumstances that surround the pairing (e.g. Christian's immortality, etc.). Also, from the very beginning, there is so much sexual tension that when things finally culminate, it ranks pretty high on the hotness scale.

So, we have great characters and a wonderful, fun, and even sometimes poignant love story (as Christian helps Carolyn overcome some of the damage wreaked by her ex-husband and her subsequent insecurities). The supporting players are also (mostly) great, especially his family, as previously mentioned - Christian's parents and cousins provide a lot of laughs as they scheme to try to bring our H/h together. The one aspect of the book about which I was less fond was the sort of quasi-twist near the end re: the villain of the piece. It's not that it didn't make sense; it's just that I felt it wasn't entirely necessary, and as such, it felt a little tacked-on to me.

However, that is such a small issue to me that it didn't wind up taking away from my overall enjoyment of the book. The bottom line is that the characters are appealing and the romance is engaging, so you can't go wrong picking this one up and giving it a read.

Marguerite Argeneau is a vampire on her honeymoon with her new vampire husband Julius. When she runs into Carolyn Connor, a forty-something mortal, she knows she is the perfect life-mate for her son Christian. The problem is that even though Christian is 500 years old, he looks 25 and Carolyn doesn't want to be perceived as a cougar. Christian's cousin Gia comes up with a plan: Christian can pretend that he is gay and that his family would not approve if they knew. Gia asks Carolyn to be Christian's beard so his family doesn't suspect he's gay. The hope is that after Carolyn gets to know Christian, he can reveal he is not gay and she won't care about the age difference anymore. And then of course he also has to tell her he's a vampire at some point as well.

Under a Vampire Moon is the sixteenth book in the Argeneau series. It's the first book in the series that I've read but I had no trouble following the story. I wasn't up to speed on all the vampire mythology but that wasn't important to understanding what was happening. Actually, Christian and his relatives don't act much like vampires, they could have very easily been regular humans without altering the story. They drink bagged blood and as long as they drink enough of it, they can go out in the daytime.

Carolyn can be very frustrating and dense. Towards the end, her history is revealed and it explains most of her behavior. Christian's cousin Zanipolo is a minor character in this book who was charming and funny - I wish he would have been featured more. Even though the plot follows the typical trashy romance formula, it did manage to surprise me in the end. I knew there was something up with Carolyn's best friend Bethany but what ended up happening with her was not what I was expecting.

Since this book is an Avon paperback, I knew it would not be a great work of literary fiction. But for what it is - a trashy romance novel - I thought it was a fun read. I enjoyed it but not so much that I feel like I need to read any of the other books in the series.

Yet another great story of finding love from Lynsay Sands. I love her Argeneau Novels. I have been wanting to read Christians story from when we first got introduces to him, loved him in Marguerite Story of finding her lost love.

Under the vampire moon was brilliant and funny, the scenes when Christian has to play a gay man is hilarious and the teasing of his cousins and especially his father is so cute.

Anyone you loves vampires/immortals will love the Argeneau Series. All Lynsay Sands characters are beautifully written and I can't wait for Jeanne Louise's story, the little teaser at the end of Under a Vampire Moon just makes me want to read it now.

I can honestly say that each time I read a new Argeneau book it makes me want to go back and start reading the whole series again.

First, I want to give kudos to Lynsay Sands on her 16th Argeneau novel. For new readers, just a little background. The Argeneaus are a family of Immortals. They are the descendants of the lost city of Atlantis and have special "nanos" in them that keep them alive forever. They need blood to survive and have fangs, but they don't really consider themselves vampires. They don't feed on humans, but live off bagged blood. Each has a "lifemate" that when they meet, they cannot mindread as they can other mortals. Also, a lifemate will make them start to crave real food and want to have sexual relations, both of which most immortals give up over time. I wasn't sure if this book would be as good as the others (I have read them all). After a while, you would think the ideas would run out and the characters and storylines would get old. You would THINK, but not so. Under A Vampire Moon is just as fresh ,funny, and sexy as her earlier work. In fact, I found it to be better than some of the others. Now, if you have never read one of the Argeneau books, I would suggest you read some to get the full story on the Immortals and their history, but even if you don't, this book stands fine on it's own. I love Marguerite, the "matriarch" of the Argeneau clan, so it was great having her once again in the story and it was also good to "meet" some new Notte cousins, whom I imagine will be featured in future books. I was getting a bit frustrated waiting for Christian to reveal his secret to Carolyn and when he finally confessed he was not gay and she was his "lifemate", I was thinking "about time already". I was a bit surprised at how long it took for him to reveal his feelings, but I get they were worried that Carolyn would run because of the age difference. The "twist" ending was great because it hit me from out of nowhere. I am definitely looking forward to what comes next for the Argeneau-Notte clan.

I've been a big fan of this series for year, and wasn't disappointed in this latest installment. Was it hard hitting literature that changed my world view in a significant way? Well, no, but I wasn't expecting that. The series is light-hearted paranormal romance, and this novel follows the pattern. I do agree with many in that this one did feel rushed at the end. While I normally don't mind everything being tied up neatly with a little bow at the end, it felt a little like Ms Sands forgot that her deadline was in a few days as opposed to a few weeks and had to hurry to wrap it up. I won't rehash the plot since so many already have, but I do feel like this wasn't her best book.

If you haven't read the rest of the series, don't start on this one. Start with A Quick Bite. While it's not necessary to read in order, if you start off with this one you'll be confused because Ms. Sands left out most of the backstory (for which I'm grateful). All in all I enjoyed it and will likely reread at least a few times.

Under A Vampire Moon has Marguerite doing what she does best: Match-Making! The intrique builds as it seems she may fail this time. Particularly when someone is tryig to "do away" with the Life Mate she has found for one of her sons.
This new saga on the Argeneau family is as thrilling and fun as the very first book.
Lindsay Sands has created a world which has existed since Atlantis and may her books continue to entertain us for a long time to come, with page after page of exciting and enjoyable reading.
Thank you Lindsay and I'm sure the Argeneau family appreciates the work you have created for them.
The next book, The Lady Is A Vamp, will be out this August. I'm definitely pre-ordering it.

I loved this book. Christian is such a sweet guy and after finding his Mother, Marguerite, after 500 years, he accepts, loves and trusts her instincts which you feel in this book. And Carolyn's feeling about being an "older" woman and Christian being so much younger than her is typical with how most of us would probably feel. It sounds exciting but to actually get involved with a younger man makes all of us think is it worth it and "what will everyone think". I thought the book was funny and I love how Lynsay Sands brings in other Argeneau characters in her books so we can keep up with their lives. If you are looking for a good, fun read then this is the book to read. Couldn't put it down once I started reading it and can't wait for the next one.

Being the 16th book in the series, you'd think the series at this point would be lacking. However, upon finishing the book, I was happy that it was true to the basic storyline of earlier books. Sands puts her humor to work into Christian's quest to claim his newly found lifemate with all the usual "curcumstancial humor" she has used in previous books. I hate telling people the details of books as I hate spoiling them. If you are already a fan of the series you should find some LOL humor and some "oh come on now moments that will keep you reading. If you aren't already a fan, I suggest starting with the first of the series and working your way to this one. I thoroughly enjoyed this book cover to cover.

I believe this is one of Lynsay Sands funniest books. Marguerite Argeneau-Notte does her usual matchmaking, on her own honeymoon this time and for her son Christian. However because of what Carolyn sees as a huge age difference she is fighting her attraction to Christian with everything in her and obviously losing, because the nano's are never wrong. His cousin Gia comes up with one heck of a lie to help Carolyn feel more comfortable around Christian, and then the fun begins. The laughing never seemed to stop while the lie is playing out. This book is highly recommended.

Carolyn is in need of a vacation. She is 42 years old and in the final stages of divorcing her abusive, gold-digger husband of 10 years. She joins her two girlfriends in a tropical paradise, which unfortunately turns out to be mostly honeymooners.

Christian is a vampire (or immortal, if you prefer.) He is centuries old, although he looks 26. He was summoned to this spot by his mother, who recognizes that Carolyn is his life mate. Upon seeing her, Christian realizes that mom was right, and immediately wants to claim Carolyn.

But Carolyn has a lot of baggage, her failed marriage, thinking she is much older than Christian, and also being led to believe he is gay.

The story of their getting together is a light, fun read. You don't have to have read all previous books in this series to understand what's happening. (It's not that complicated.)

A determined matchmaking vampire matriarch finds the true lifemate for her 500-year old son, and hilarious hijinks and steamy sensuality ensue! Marguerite Argeneau-Notte, an extremely beautiful, and very well-preserved, centuries-old vampire honeymoons in the Caribbean with her second husband and eternal soulmate, Julius Notte. When Marguerite meets Carolyn Connor, a fortyish vacationer trying to recover from a disastrous marriage, she immediately recognizes the perfect woman for her son, Christian. Marguerite maneuvers to have Christian and his band play at the hotel resort where they are staying, and her plan begins to unfold. However, after having read Carolyn's thoughts on life, love, men, and marriage, Marguerite decides to bring Christian and Carolyn together slowly so that Carolyn will be more accepting of the situation. After all, not only is Christian a gorgeous, rich, and ageless vampire, he appears to only be about twenty five, as do all the immortals. Carolyn is a shade over forty, with self-esteem issues and self-doubts aplenty. In order to ease Carolyn into the relationship, a scheme is hatched where Christian is presented as a gay man in need of a "lady friend" in order to hide his sexual orientation. With some "adjustments" to her thought processes, Carolyn agrees, and the sweet and sexy comedy capers begin to unfold. Two things made this book work for me: the smart and sassy humor of Lynsay Sands, and the very appealing character of Carolyn. Underneath all the vampire bling-bang, and makin' whoopee, many women will identify with Carolyn, and that's what makes this paranormal romance above the norm. I haven't read all the entries in Lynsay Sands enormously popular and successful "Argeneau Series", but I have enjoyed each one that I have read very much!

If you aren't on vacation - don't worry. You will still enjoy this book. A little romp in the hay is exactly what Carolyn needs. She is a divorce who is on vacation with a girlfriend when she meets a younger hot man. "Band boy", the vampire and life mate she doesn't know about, has to get close to her - but she has been burned in the past. She is really close to running after just meeting him, so his cousin convinces her he is gay and he needs her to be his beard.

From being a gay friends beard to hot nasty sex dreams Carolyn falls for Band Boy and that is only where the hot stuff begins.

I love that Lynsay Sands can put a new twist on an old idea. Vampires are still fun to read when the author keeps it fresh and I enjoyed the book when I picked it up. The humor is lighthearted and keeps it fun. The sexual tension is there and the characters have realistic motivation and history. It was fun but I did feel like the attempted murder thing was kind of thrown in there at the end to take up some more pages and it didn't read like a romantic suspense so it felt wrong to have that part in there. The main story was between Christian and his "beard" and it was very enjoyable and well written. Good book.

"Under a Vampire Moon" makes its debut as book number sixteen in the "Argeneau Vampire" series. Lynsay Sands, gives us another glimpse into an immortals struggle to find and secure a "lifemate." As with most "Argeneau" tales, the pronouncement of a lifemate, begins with the loving interference of one, Marguerite Argeneau. I'm a big fan of the books in the series that feature Marguerite. She's always funny and mischievous and she can always spice up a story that is a little flat.
I can't quite put my finger on what was missing from this book, because Sands stacked the deck with a slew of interesting characters that I wanted to know more about, and a strong story line that should have been good for a lot of laughs; the hero must pretend to be gay, to get the girl. Carolyn, the wounded divorcee, significantly older than the hero, is a good character, a believable character. On the other hand, the hero, Christian Notte was just too compliant for my tastes. Every time the story would grab some momentum and start to take off, it would peter out, or fall flat, the book never truly took off.
It wasn't my favorite book of the series, but certainly a worthy addition to the series and a great way to spend some time.

Another great book from Lynsay Sands! Overall it was another great book in the series, I own everyone of them and enjoy reading them over and over. Christian is hot, and the whole act he has to pull in this book is really hilarious.
I enjoyed reading this book, but I have one problem with it. I didn't care for the way the book ended. It just didn't feel like it had real closure. What is going to happen to the ex hubby and her friend who betrayed her??? I think those are important questions that really needed to be answered.

So; for starters, yes I did read the novel from start to finish, but I have to say it was hard to stay focused and continue this novel even after I started reading it; the plot is boring, the characters are all flat and un-interesting, and the romance in the novel reminds me of teenagers making out for the very time. Really; come on! If you are a published author then you should be able to do better than this and put some of your own life experiences into your work, especially the romance scenes, but these characters made me feel as a reader like I was watching virgins make out for the very time; very boring and unstable. Get this novel from your local 'half-price' store if you just have to have it, but don't pay full price for the novel if you have the option.

You don't get much more perfect than a hot steamy paranormal romance with lots of humor! A older woman falling for a hot younger guy... who is really over 500 years her senior and not exactly human, got to love the humor behind that! It is sensual, romantic, and very humorous at times. Great work from a very talented author! If your a big Christine Feehan fan as I am you will absolutely adore this novel. It takes place in the Caribbean making this book so light and refreshing and oh so steamy!

I had read all of the books in the Argeneau series up to the "Renegade Hunter" and then I dropped off from reading anything to do with vampires until yesterday. I picked up "Under a Vampire Moon" by accident yesterday and read it in one day, it was really good. There were a lot of spots where I literally laughed out loud, it was quite funny. It was good to be back in the world of the Aregneau's so I think I'll go back and read the ones that I haven't read yet.

I read another book in this series some time ago and never forgot the characters. I did however forget the author's name and was glad to "find" her again. I enjoyed the story, the only thing that I didn't like was that the book seemed to end kind of abruptly. I wanted to see how she felt after she turned and I really wanted her A** ex-husband and friend to get what was coming to them. Up until the end though I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be reading more in the series.

Trust the "matriarch" of the Argeneau family to spot the perfect partner for one of her offspring. Carolyn is recovering from an unhappy marriage on a tropical beach when she meets Marguerite, leading to the plotting (by Marguerite) to have her son, Christian, meet the emotionally wounded divorcee. As always in this series, love ensues. These books are fun, light reading which never fail to entertain.

Disappointed!!!

To say that this book started slow, is an incredible understatement.
It crawled, in the muck, for over 3/4 of the book.
I realize this book == fiction, but it required that I take most of my brain offline to believe some of the antics.

If you are an immortal (hundreds of years of living), there are a few truths of life that must have infiltrated the nano-buffed gray matter: deception is the death of all relationships. Every single one.
What made the author think that anyone, ANYONE, would take the kind of lies (big, small, doesn't matter!) that were perpetrated at the beginning of a relationship would make it stronger in the end?!!
Everyone knows that it's not the sex that destroys the marriage/relationship; it's the deception and the lies, and complete eroding of trust.
So, for most of the book, that's what the parents and brothers and sister conceive, support, and ....
Well, don't bother reading this book, if the whole concept of deception bothers you.
Certainly made it impossible to sympathize with ANY of the characters in the book ... and completely destroyed my enjoyment of the whole series.
I will not be looking forward to the next book, if this is the direction she is taking the series.

Typical Lynsay Sands' novel. Her series was looking for something new to spice it up and what better way to do that than to have it set on a Carribean Island and have a new lifemate to think you are gay and wants to use you as a beard. Sounds like the plan. The book was very playful and back to the way Ms. Sands' books were in the beginninng. Would recommend to Ms. Sands' followers and to anyone eles looking for a quick and easy beach read.

Lyndsay Sands tells a pretty entertaining story, when she doesn't get too caught up in the sex. Under a Vampire Moon was no different. It has a fair amount of comedy, which helps to lighten up the subject. Great storyline, but way too much detail on the sexual content, which is also extremely far fetched to the point of not being entertaining.

Had I known these books were x rated, I would not have purchased the first one.

I am totally hooked on this author and this particular series. They can make me cry, laugh and scream for the characters! Lynsay Sands humanizes these interesting Vamps a way no one else has for me in their books. I have them in paperback mostly, but have recently stated adding them to my electronic library. I share them with friends, but always want them back. It is fun to go back and re-read them again while waiting on the next installment.

I enjoyed this book. I have read ALL of Lindsay Sand's books and liked them.
I was dissappointed in the way this one ended. It felt like she just counted the words she needed to have a complete novel and went no farther. I hope she brings Christian and Carolyn into this next book. I want to know the jerk husband and the traitor friend, got their just rewards!
My problem with this series is the books are so long in coming.

I have loved this series up until the last 2 books offered. I think maybe this author needs a new story line.
It seemed just not right that the main character's parents were so in his face with the head slapping and treating him like a little kid.
and really pretending to be gay???
Hope this author gets a little better or will start looking for a new and upcoming author.

I did enjoy this book dont get me wrong but when I got to the end I found it felt rushed. That there could have been more and that it could have been drawn out more. I did like the plot but the end pages with Beth seemed like they were chucked in last minute and the drama was over in a few pages. It just seems to be lacking something that all the others in the series have

I have read about three or four books in this series, including the first one, and they are all pretty much the same: "vampire" clan, descendants or members of the highly technologically advanced Atlanteans, find their mates. Any actual plot aside from the mating game is mostly filler in this one, but Sands does not cheat her readers by providing a short novella instead of a full length novel, and she is a decent writer. Other reviewers have said that this book stands alone and technically it does, but a lot of background information on this vampire family is provided in short hand fashion at the very end of the book, which could leave a reader new to this series scratching their head and wondering what exactly is going on. I think the target audience for this one consists of readers who are familiar with these books.

This one was a real "miss" for me. I just didn't care for the premise or storyline. It was a departure from her usually great reads. Maybe it was me, but I just couldn't get into it, didn't want to keep on reading and because of this it took forever to finish. I'd have to say "pass on this one".

Christian's story is one of the best in this series. As a vampire romance series they all tend to follow the same basic pattern; vamp meets life mate, conflict in one form or another, hot steamy sex, conflict resolved and then the happily ever after...but Christian's story has a surprisingly fresh resolution.

reading this series in order, Christian who was introduced long ago finally gets his mate. Carolyn has grown and learned from past mistakes and hopes that someone twenty years younger isn't another mistake. Love the new characters introduced from the Notte family tree. All have character development and hope to see them in future novels.

I love a book that can make you laugh out loud, stimulate the senses, and keeps you so enthralled that you don't want to put it down. Under a Vampire Moon did that for me. The author did a fantastic job at creating a beautiful island scene and including a lead female character that was not 20 something with a killer body. It was nice to read a book that I could relate to. I look forward to reading more books in the Argeneau series. Now if someone could write me an excuse for work I would be happy to do nothing but read all day long!!

I am so happy that Sands' Argeneau series is Still a good read. I'm finding that many authors start off with a really good paranormal romance and than after a while it turns.... well bad. I like this book. It had love, humor, STORY that wasn't over powered by sex... it was a a good way to spend my day off.

Even though I am currently growing tired of the vampire/romance angle, this book was tolerable. Not a huge hit with me but definitely better than Stephanie Meyers. I loved the characters and the in-depth descriptions! I do feel that I would recommend this for Twilight fans.

You kind of have to realize that the Argeneau books are a bit tongue and cheek. You can't expect a real vampire book or life and death situations. But it is charming and funny and the characters are well written.

My problem with this one is that the author spent all this time building up and then the big delivery kind of petered out. Like she was rushing to finish. I wasn't in love with the characters or the story line. It was just 'meh.'

Now, obviously, many vampire novels are set ups - let's be honest. Cute but lonely heroine meets alpha male who wants a taste of her in more ways than one. Got it. And trust me, I usually buy in for the long haul. I'll read your whole series even when it falls off more than a bit [I'm looking at you, Laurell K. Hamilton!]. But Sands delivers a contemporary snooze fest here. 40's divorcée on a girl's retreat meets her life mate. I could forgive the trite setting and shallow characters if 'Caro' had been written with a little spark. And I'm a 40 yr old divorcée. I should LOVE this character! I don't. The plot device used to create tension and string out the plot, her aversion to younger males, gets tired rather quickly. Our stud posing as a gay man to woo her is vaguely insulting. And the sick friend who drug her on this escapade is annoying. I'd skip this and head on over to A Hunger Like No Other (Immortals After Dark, Book 1) for a series with wit and romance that doesn't slog along as this books tends to do.

Ive read all of the argeneau series and and i always find them to be a quick read, but nothing much to brag about. However, this one is the best in my opinion. It's actually quite funny and not nearly as cheesy as the others. My only complaint is ends very abruptly. I was seriously wondering where the last chapter was.

The lack of character development and the fact that the lead female Carol comes off as a total dingbat sinks the story line.

Lynsay Sands has another winner. This is wonderful twist on the other books in this series in how Christan gets his life mate. Only thing I was disappointed in was that I think it finished very suddenly, it could have had another chapter or two.

Okay, so who else is getting sick of vampires and werewolves? Everyone and their brother and sister has written a vampire or werewolf book, and now is has officially gotten on my nerves. I couldn't even read through this book. I'm sorry, but I have to tell the truth...and that is the truth. I cannot tell you what this book is about really, because I didn't read it. Couldn't read it. I'm writing this review now so that publishers around the world can see that vamps and weres are dead...so stop publishing such monstrosities. I do not mean any disrespect to the author, I'm sure their great, but I just want to let them know that it's time to pick a different paranormal being...you're a writer, so be creative next time.

This has got to be the worst pseudo vampire book ever written. The title of the book is totally misleading. The story takes place in the span of three days; yet, it feels like eternity. I'm sure this author books are a required reading in hell. The premise is frustrating nonsense. Christian a 500+ years old immortal (not a vampire but a scientific advancement) allows his mother, father, and cousins to control how he woos his life mate who is a insecure, inexperience, emotionally abused woman Carolyn. Carolyn allows her college buddy (Bethany) to berate her for her involvement with an Adonis yet initially Bethany cited her determination for Carolyn to have an affair while they were on vacation. Sheltered, Carolyn is in the process of divorcing her gold-digger husband. Carolyn who runs a successful business sneaks out of her room to avoid further chastisement from Bethany. The immortals drink blood from blood bags unless there's an emergency then they drink from a mortal. They have the ability to use mind control; yet there decide to tell Carolyn that Christian is gay so she will be comfortable around him so they can get to know one another. Carolyn who is in her forties has an issue with her attraction to Christian who is attractive and looks like he is in his twenties. Unlike vampires, immortals can be in the sun though it does require that they consume a lot of blood to offset the experience. So if you looking for a vampire tale, it is off putting that Christian spends his days accompanying Carolyn on her excursions including a day lounging on the beach or sightseeing, or tours that include boat travel. Christian whines, pouts, and has tantrums of jealousy; yet, he continuously allows his family to orchestrate his encounters with Carolyn. The author's voice is childish and is amused by the silly banter of her characters; the author's idea of humor. The bickering between Christian and his relatives especially his father was grating and speaks to the author's confusion regarding her audience. Because there are innuendoes of erotica: shared wet dreams and sweeps of sexual encounters, one would think that the audience is an adult female; however, with the level of immaturity of her characters, teens would be a better suited audience for this author. For me this was a pathetically juvenile attempt of writing a paranormal romance novel. I recommend that law enforcement use this book as a tool of torture to force confessions. I will never ever, ever read anything associated with this author. The idea that this is one book of a series is mind-boggling; but it is a stand alone read.

Lynsay Sands writes a very delightful romantic comedy of Carolyn Connor, a 40s something woman who has been badly burned by a previous romantic relationship and the sexy, young looking musician/entertainer Christian Notte. Christian is Marguerite Argeneau's Italian son who is eager to claim a life mate, and willing to accept the fiction his female cousin Gia creates that he is an in the closet gay man who needs Carolyn's help in passing as straight.

The writing is playful, and fits seamlessly into the ongoing epic of the Argeneau clan. Situational comedy with witty banter and loving family warmth (on the vampire side) that make the reading enjoyable.
