Sarah has managed to escape her brother a ruthless, ambitious crime boss. She has found sanctuary in a small Colorado town. Sarah’s brother will stop at nothing to get her back. He has plans for her, plans that will bring him more power and he doesn’t care if he has to sacrifice Sarah to gain that power. Sarah isn’t the first person in trouble this little town has taken in. She manages to attract the attention of canine officer Otto and sparks fly.

This book is part of a series but it could be read as a stand along. I liked the characters. I really liked watching Sarah gain self confidence and blossom. There is plenty of action to hold the readers attention along with a sweet romance. I look forward to the next book in the series. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy of this book.

Survive The Night isn't nearly as cutie or feisty like the first two in this new series but it fits right in. This time readers will see a little more of a back story to the mystery man that is able to help women disappear and end up in a small town in Colorado where the police and people of the small mountain town turn to help scared out of place women.
I don't want to give to much away but I can tell you readers are going dying for the next in the series.

This one feels more like a link between the first two and the next in the series which I can't wait for. While it is a sweet over the top action romance it still has the fun Katie Ruggle fans will love.

Thank you Netgelley and Sourcebook Casablanca publishing for the advance copy

I loved it. The action was an adrenaline rush from the start, intermixed with a sweet romance between to very likeable characters. Otto is a mountain of a man with a heart of gold, and Alice/Sarah was the lovely woman needing that heart. I liked how she worked hard to find her strength despite the terror stalking her. Did the action get a bit flamboyant at times? Heck yes – and it was a fun ride. Pulse-pumping and romantic all blended together. This is a great series.

I have enjoyed every book Ms. Ruggle has written, so I was looking forward to reading this book. Survive the Night felt off to me. I loved the first two books in the series, this one just did not work for me. The lead characters were not interesting, and they should have been. I tried to find them interesting, but honestly, Otto's animals seemed to have a stronger personality then their human owners.

The plot - it was all over the place. It was very chaotic and a bit confusing. There did not seem to be a smooth flow to the narrative. I really wanted to like this book, but....... Even though this was not my favorite I will continue to read this series.

As much as I tried to read it, no matter how many times I picked it up, I just couldn't. It all felt mechanical and the characters fell flat for me.

Not to mention how many of them there are. I was confused, not really into the story, so I decided it was best if I just quit it.

I have previously read and loved a book by this author, so I'm not happy having to write this review, but it happens, I guess. I wasn't pulled into it and when your mind is wandering away, or you'd rather be doing something else, you know the book isn't for you.

I voluntarily agreed to read an early copy via Netgalley. My rating is my standard DNF rating, 2 stars.

I always grab Katie 's books when I find one. This works about police and K9 Rescue. It is hard to read this story. I had to walk away and then come back to read again. Alice is trying to get away from her brother Aaron. He and his partners in crime want to make her marry so he can get into their family. She saw a bomb and fled. Otto is in the police. He sees her and falls for her. She is now Sarah. Aaron finds her and Otto saves her. This is a good story. There is a lot of danger. This is a different trouble. You will have to read this book to get to the end. Check out this book! Please choose to read this book! Don't let this book get away from you! Enjoy!

Otto gets book! K9 Officer Otto Gunnersen is a tall Viking god with a hard body and a soft heart. Both come in handy when he meets Sarah Clifton. He is utterly gobsmacked. Not something we see often with Otto.
This story sees Sarah escape a horrid situation in Texas to end up in small town Monroe, Colorado. The town will never be the same again. This story is as action packed as any movie. Prepare time to read this because once you pick it up it will be impossible to put down. Romantic suspense at its finest. My favorite of the series to date

Ruggle really needs to write faster !! I picked up the Search and Rescue series and was done with all the books in one week. Then I turned to the K9 series. Boy did I love Otto ! The only thing that kept me from giving it a 5 star review is that she creates such lovable characters, that I want to know EVERYTHING about them. Especially their pasts. Character development is sometimes missing. Keep up the good work though. I really enjoyed all her books !

This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. The story flowed very well and was very enjoyable. This book will keep you reading long into the night and you will not want to put this book down until you finish. This was such a great read and full of surprises. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader’s copy of this book. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

Otto and Sarah are so adorable! Their first few interactions are awkward and delightfully adorkable! The action in the end is a bit over the top and if you like your fiction to be realistic, it might bug you. I however, loved the entire book! Plus, tons of fun, adorable animals.

I have read other books by this author and loved them but this book is not the case. I found it jumped around a lot making it hard to follow and the two main characters were more like preteens in their attraction and conversation attempts

It was a good book-very fastmoving. It could have been a little longer and could have built up the backstory of the heroine a bit more. But otherwise great action and chemistry between the characters.

This is the third in a series, while each book follows a different woman the previous characters are heavily present so it is advisable, but not necessary, to read the previous books. I have only read the first book before this one but I recognised the characters.

Alice Blanchett is the daughter and sister of crime bosses. Effectively a prisoner in her own home, an asset to be sold off to a rival crime family as a wife for the prodigal son, Logan Jovanovic, until a mysterious note warns her to be prepared to escape.

Some time later Alice is rescued by one of her brother's henchmen and sent, via secret ways by the mysterious Mr Espina to the small town of Monroe, Colorado as yet another "old friend" of Jules under the alias Sarah Clifton. Jules was Mr Espina's first rescue and there is a theme to the women he rescues, they are all connected in some way with the Jovanovic family.

K9 Officer Otto Gunnersen does not, in my mind, look anything like the picture on the front of the book, Sarah describes him as a cross between a viking and a lumberjack, and one of his best friends describes him as a Ninja Paul Bunyan. Anyway, he is one of a trio of friends in the Monroe Police department: Theo and Jules are a couple and Hugh and Grace (the couple from the second book) are also a couple. Otto is a big, strong, silent man, he lives alone outside of town and rescues animals that no-one else will take. When he meets Alice/Sarah it is insta-lurve, he is struck dumb. Unfortunately, the overwhelming impression I got, at least from the first half of the book, was that Otto was a little simple. Maybe because he was slow to speak, big and lumbering, good with animals?

Anyway, its not too long until Sarah's brother and future husband find her in Monroe and try to take her back to Texas. What follows is a tense cat and mouse game through the snow with helicopters and bombs and all sorts. Unfortunately, I have very little visualisation ability and frankly I was lost. One minute Sarah is nine miles from town down a deserted road, the next she seems to be bumping into the townsfolk left, right and centre. Everyone appeared to be a suspect and gathers in one place for a finale that was both thrilling and confusing (because of the visualisation thing again).

Overall, while I still enjoyed the book my credulity was stretched pretty thin. This is supposedly a small town yet it appears to have a large police force, the majority of whom have been sent off on a special training course, leaving just our three intrepid friends. Why draw attention to strangers by having three fugitives move to the town in a short period of time? I though that this was the final book in the series but the ending (and indeed NetGalley) suggests there is another to come. Not sure the premise can hold out for another book.

I received a free copy of this book from the publisher in return for an honest review.

Survive the Night by Katie Ruggle is the 3rd book in her Rocky Mountain K-9 Unit series. I enjoyed the first two books in this series, and I thought this one was even more exciting. The theme of this series is a woman is helped to escape her terrible life, and sent to a small town in the Colorado Mountains, to live in hiding.

Sarah Clifton, our heroine, is on the run after a mind-blowing escape from her bad brother, who wants her to marry an evil mobster leader. She ends up living under a fake name, with the two previous heroines. The story was very suspenseful from the start to finish, with a lot of action all the way through. The last ¼ of the book had me holding my breath, as Sarah’s life was on the line twice and no one knew where she was. Sarah was a fantastic heroine, who managed to fight her way out of terrible conditions to help her new friends, and animals, as well as herself for survival.

K9 Officer Otto Gunnersen, is a sweet gentle giant, who also takes care of animals. He works with Theo and Huge on the K-9 Unit, and envies that they have found their mates; something he does not see happening to him. Otto meet Sarah. The moment he sets eyes on her, at the house that the other girls and their family live in, he is hooked. He is very shy, and in a short time Sarah takes a liking to him. Since Otto lives in a bunker style house, with safe rooms, and tunnels, Sarah agrees to move in with him. The romance doesn’t take long to heat up, as both have not had relationships previously. They were really so good together, and I loved the addition of the two dogs, cat, horse and goat. There romance was so sweet, you couldn’t help rooting for them; and Otto was wonderful and protective with her.

As usual, Theo and Huge know that Sarah is running away, like their girls, but to get information on the man who helped them run away was not forthcoming. However, Sarah will tell them about Aaron (brother) and Logan ( her forced fiancée), and how dangerous they are. The previous books were exciting, but I thought Survive the Night was pulse pounding action right from the start. In a short time after Sarah arrives, Aaron will find her to try to bring her back. She manages to escape and the guys arrest him.

What follows is an intense, wild adventure that will put all of them in danger, as the villains will bring all their resources to the small town to prevent them from getting help. This was so exciting that held me on the edge of my seat with so much action. Sarah turned out to be a big lifesaver, especially with the animals.

Survive the Night is another suspenseful, action packed story, and I can’t wait for the next book in this series. Katie Ruggle has written a great story, wonderful couple, and exciting action packed throughout. I suggest you read this series and start with the first book, Run to Ground.

In SURVIVE THE NIGHT, the third installment of Katie Ruggle’s Rocky Mountain K9 Unit series, we follow the big, quiet Otto and gutsy heroine, Sarah Clifton.

Tying into the previous books (though you don’t need to read them to understand this one,) the ties to crime that have haunted the intrepid canine officers of Monroe County–and their respective ladies–are back. But the bad guys aren’t always obvious, and the mystery deepens when Sarah’s past collides with her present identity.

Ruggle continues to impress with her finely-tuned suspense mixed with the perfect amount of romance. This is not a steamy read, but rather a well-plotted and paced story that ties up loose threads in previous books while bringing older characters in for a closer look. The author is a master at creating likable protagonists, and Otto will surely pull at your heartstrings.

Sarah is no slouch either, and fighting to be an independent woman away from an abusive family life makes her that much more courageous and relatable as she works to overcome obstacles.

Kudos to Ruggle for continuing to write fun, suspenseful, engaging romantic suspense.

Don’t miss out! The Rocky Mountain K9 Unit series just keeps getting better.

This is an intense action-filled, romantic, suspense that will hold your interest from beginning to end. Survive the Night is the third book in a series, but can be read as a stand-alone novel. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It starts out with Sarah Clifton hiding from big trouble in Monroe, Colorado. K9 officer, Otto Gunnersen takes one look at Sarah and immediately knows he has to defend her from all the bad guys. In return, Sarah is in awe of Otto and his collection of rescued animals. Sarah is trying to settle into her new life when everything goes horribly wrong. What follows is an intense, wild adventure, that puts the small town in danger. Survive the Night is a suspenseful, action-packed story with wonderful characters, sweet animals, and romance. I definitely recommend this book. I look forward to reading the first two books in this series. I received this book in a Goodreads giveaway in exchange for an honest review.

This was a great story, it was fast moving and had an excellent plot and I was hooked as soon as I started reading. The characters were strong and worked really well together to carry the plot forwards and I enjoyed it very much.

Whilst this book is the third in the series I haven't read the previous books and this is fine to read as a stand alone in my opinion. The detail was excellent - 5 stars from me would definitely recommend it to any lovers of this genre.

oh my! I have a new favorite author! I cannot tell you how much I loved this book and this series! You don't have to have read the previous books to totally enjoy this book. I love any story that has an animal in it but combine animals and police officers and I am there. Great read!

Otto and Sarah are very alike, they are both quiet, patient, observers, who are happy in their own company…..until they meet and fall for each other. Both have heart breaking pasts, childhoods you wouldn’t wish on anyone, but both have survived and both are stronger because of it. Which is good because they will need every bit of that strength, and the strength they give each other, to survive everything and everyone Aaron throws at them.
The slightly awkward, unsure interactions between Sarah and Otto in the beginning are so sweet and endearing, theirs is a quiet, gentle love. Unlike that of Grace and Hugh in the previous book who’s love is firey, loud and passionate, there is no less passion, but it is a private, all consuming love which also includes the numerous animals Otto has opened his home to. The bond formed between Sarah and Xena is the bond of two broken souls who can sense the others pain as well as their strength and brings a tear to your eye.
Whilst Sarah and Otto’s love is the quietest of the three couples, this book is not. By contrast this is the loudest, most explosive, most confrontational and hostile of the series. The drama and terror is only increased when they realise they have a traitor within the team, striking a personal blow at the worst possible time. With multiple attacks on multiple fronts they have to split up, will they all survive? Or will the evil finally defeat them to take a win? Will Monroe be destroyed?
This is a gripping series with a fantastic cast and more twists than a corkscrew – read it now!

This is the story of Otto Gunnersen and Sarah Clifton. Otto is a k9 officer who always has a soft spot for anyone who needs help. His life is spent taking care of the injured dogs that come into his life. Sarah takes shelter with Otto and he will do anything to protect her. He has a big heart and is so kind and he has never been in love before.

Sarah just wants a safe place to live her life away from being caught in between crime families. Her power crazy brother will never stop hunting for her and would never expect Sarah to fight back. With Otto by her side she can do anything.

I loved this book it was a great read. I read it in one day. It is one of those books and stories that I will reread over and over again. I loved Otto and Sarah together you could really feel the sparks between them. It was also nice to see characters from past books. I would reccomend this book I give it 5 stars!

This was a great book that keeps you reading and sitting on the edge of your seat waiting to see what will happen next and to who. These men will protect each other and the ones they love no matter what. These people protect the kids and animals as well while bombs are exploding all over the town.

Otto is such a gentle soul, he completely deserves his HEA with Sarah. Of course, that is after some intense action that falls upon them. Not too happy that this book contains almost half of the next book with it. A chapter to get us hooked is okay....but eight! That's just ridiculous. And that's why the three stars. Stop padding the books. :-(

Otto was the protector for animals and people. When he meets Sarah he forgets how to talk. Lol. Sarah is the 2 friend to show up in Monroe. While they are trying to figure things out things just keep happening. The twist, turns, love, betrayal and just about everything thing else happens again. This 3rd book was really good. Now on to the next..
