I was struggling to find any books that my 9 year old daughter would get into. Then I started thinking about the stories I use to enjoy. Judy Blume was the first author I thought of and "Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing" was one of my favourites. My daughter loved reading it and was eager to get to bed and start reading it each night. Thank you once again Judy Blume... now onto some of your other favourites.

I am a 25 year old male and I purchased this book as the first book to be read in a fledgling book club. I was skeptical at first but was promised a quick read. An adult who picks up this book will likely see that there is much more insight into the psyche of young girls, or young children in general, than their intended-age counter part.

It proved to be somewhat interesting and held my attention for the hour or so that it took to read. If, as an adult, you happen to find it in your hand there is a decent chance you won't be disappointed.

This is a great book that my 10 year old daughter loved reading. It has a story line that is easy for a young girl to relate to and I would highly recommend anyone with a daughter to buy this book for them.

I remember having this book read to me in first or second grade and loved it then, and am loving it now that I am reading it to my first grader. She seems to be enjoying it as she will ask to have it read to her. We love Judy Blume.

My wife is a novelist and she recommended THEN AGAIN, MAYBE I WON’T. She said was a really good YA romance novel. As I was reading the book, the title of my wife’s latest blog, “Where’s the Romance?” came to mind.

So while I was looking for period romance, or romance period, I eventually realized THEN AGAIN, MAYBE I WON’T is actually a coming of age story.

I know, I know; I could have taken the time to read the blurb and I didn’t. Shoot me, God knows my wife will.

So in fairness to Judy Blume, THEN AGAIN, MAYBE I WON’T is a pretty good novel about a pubescent boy growing up in New York in the seventies.

I was impressed with how well the author, an adult woman, so convincingly got into the mind of a young teenage boy.

This novel is a bit on the slow side by today’s standards, but considering it was authored decades ago, I wouldn’t be so quick to judge on that account
.
While it makes for an endearing read, I didn’t really feel there was much of a point to the novel. I don’t even recall the ending—it was that forgettable.

THEN AGAIN, MAYBE I WON’T reads like an uninspired memoir. When I finished the book I was thinking: nice, but so what?

I was told years ago I should read this book because its got a good take on finding a Connection that works for you. Its sweetly told. It kind of peters out. I was left feeling like the author gave up on her point.

What a great book. Fast shipping, received it in record time. No creases or any damage in shipping. The kids love this book. Can't wait to order the others in the series. Price couldn't be beat and I googled it.

I hated the turtle died I liked the dog though and the story grade almost nothing about school so in the collision I liked every thing except the death of the turtle and it had nothing about class in fourth grade so that is why I gave a 3 star rating for Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing ( Fudge) by Judy Blume
About fourth grade :)

For any and all young girls this book is an excellent insight of their expectations and of course the tales told of what to expect.
It is also a very good beginning of the expectations of the adults in a young persons life. One should not have to born into a religion, but at some point make choices based on one's experiences and then choices.

Sincerely

I bought this book so I could take my mind off the present and go back in time to the 70's to the funny times of dealing with changing of your body in to adult world. Don't you wish that you or someone in your family could invent something like in the story and going from rags to riches

I would give this to my daughter to read when she's a tween. That's a rough time in life... so many changes. Otherwise, this book was not for me. I'm not sure how it made Times top 100 list. Maybe it was a big deal in 1970?

A humorous story that transcends across generations as a nine year old boy tries to find his place within his family as well as the world around him, navigating a younger brother who challenges him at every turn. Still as fun today as it was when I was nine.

I love this book because fudge is so funny wiping mashed potatoes on the wall, playing with socks, and all the other funny things he does. That is why I give it the rating 5/5 stars. I've read it 4 times but you will love it so much you'll want to!
You can find it at your local library or buy it on the store.

I loved this book when I read it as a child and I bought this one for my niece. She really enjoyed it too. And I am going to order one for my granddaughter. Can I do that here or go back thru the ordering process?

It gives you a unique look into a twelve year old girls head. Not for younger kids, certainly, but sometimes you just want to feel understood. Margaret is such a relatable character who is strong and funny. I loved the book.

I get why the title is what is is, but I don't get why it talks about bras - I get red when even undershirts are mentioned. Plus, they're in 6th grade. To me, the first time I read read it, I thought there was something was missing. But it was a good book. I found it quite interesting...

Grandchild loves it! Her Mom and Aunts loved it too. Only problem I even had with Judy Blume is that when the girls become teens, LOOK OUT! Judy Blume writes "Trashy and inappropriate" material that most mothers would not want their daughters reading while still children!
