I love reading Debbie Macomber. The story had some funny moments, some suspenseful moments and joyful moments. Loved the way it
ended. Debbie Macomber is a great author. A different Christmas story.

A rather childish and predictable effort by an author who can definitely write better than this book indicates. The FBI was made to look like the Keystone Cops, and Stan the Man was just plain weird. The plot just wasn't believable...no ex-military, mature young man would give this twit of a girl a second look....and especially wouldn't have so graciously excused her constant delays in their trip to Seattle for a reason very important to him. There were some moments of entertaining reading, but on the whole, if this had been my first Debbie Macomber book, it would have been my last. It seemed thrown together, and the ending was too rushed and not fleshed out nearly enough. The book basically just ended. Sorry I spent my money on a somewhat short, silly book.

I've been a hugh fan of Ms. Macomber for many years and it really hurts to rate her books anything but 5 star.

While I enjoyed most of Dashing Through the Snow it left me wondering where the rest if the story was. Speaking of stories that is exactly what this seemed like, a short story, not a book.

I love Debbie Macomber's Christmas novels. There have been years when it's her stories that get me into the Christmas spirit or remind me what I'm really celebrating. That said, this story could have been so much better if it got rid of the FBI part of the storyline, which I just found annoying and ridiculous, and focused on the budding romance between Ashley and Dash. I would have loved to read about an in-person interaction between Ashley and Dash's mom. They had more chemistry in the first half of the book than the main characters did. The story felt rushed at times and I really would have enjoyed a little more time with the couple. That sassy edge Mrs. Macomber gives her female characters was less present in this book, showing up only a few times, like in the name of the adorable little puppy, Little Blade.

Last year's Mr. Miracle had the same disapointing feel to me. A little rushed with not nearly enough of a story. I almost wonder if the Hallmark Channel will be premiering the movie Dashing Through the Snow this December. Mrs. Macomber has set the standard for warm romantic Christmas stories, I almost wish I had reached for an old favorite like The Christmas Basket, Christmas Letters, Starry Night, or any of the Angels books. With so many truly good books from this author, it's easy to overlook the more "meh" offerings, but I really hope her next attempt is up to par with the older holiday stories. I wish there was less emphasis on pushing out a book and/or movie every year and instead, a focus on a truly good, heartwarming story,

Ashley Davison is desperate to get home to Seatlle to surprise her mom for Christmas. There is one little problem. There are no flights available and she doesn't know what to do next. Dashiell Sutherland has a very important interview in Seattle and has to be on a plane by December 23rd or his chances of getting the job are gone. What a predicament these two strangers are in. What will they decide to do to reach their destination?

As Ashley makes a mad rush to rent a car, Dash is right behind her with the same idea. As luck would have it, there is only one car available. Through a series of arguments and insults, Ashley and Dash decide to share the car so they can both get to Seattle on time. The story starts off with a few laughs as Ashley and Dash adjust to each other. I couldn't figure out the FBI story and how it made any sense in the storyline. It seemed almost like an afterthought to put an unbelievable supposed terrorist in the storyline to make it intriguing. When I started reading about a man who was helping Ashley and Dadh repair their car I almost closed the book. He is described as having an alien for a wife and believes he was abducted by other aliens. Now I know that I could not connect with this story.

I was really hoping to see more character development between Ashley and Dash. We find out very little about them and their relationship seemed very rushed. It was hard to believe that a young woman would agree to share a car with a total stranger and not be terrified. I am a big fan of the author's books, but this one just did not live up to her usual amazing writing.

I think sometimes when writers are as prolific as Debbie Macomber, that a break is a good idea. There was nothing about this book that I liked. There was no need for the FBI part of the story. This book was a waste of paper and I would recommend to everyone that they not buy this book. It was just a weak effort.

I usually like Debbie Macomber's books, but this was one of the dumbest books I have read in awhile. The plot was ridiculous. I felt like she was just going through the motions because she needed to come up with this year's X-mas novel, but couldn't think of anything better to write.

I did not like this book! It was boring and the main heroine was a spoiled brat. I also want to read a Christmas book and it be about Christmas, not a terrorist and a potential bombing. I hear about that everywhere I am in real life. I don't need to read about it in a Christmas book!! I really wish I can get my money back.

You cannot go wrong with a Debbie Macomber Christmas story. You always get your happily ever after. As always, the characters go through a stressful time, but in the end all is good. This book has FBI, puppies, teenagers, and of course two people needing to get from San Francisco to Seattle ASAP. This is a great Sunday afternoon Christmas story, the kind that gets you in the mood for a good family Christmas..don't miss it!

Macomber had me in stitches throughout this entire novel! It was priceless to the n-th degree. The plot was unforgettable. The story that she has created not only bought the hectic vibe of the season to life, but she took me on an unmistakable journey. The plot twists and turns had me wondering how it would all turn out. She has developed a fantastic world in which characters come to life and adventure abounds, even if it is an unexpected one.

The relationship between the main characters was hilariously ridiculous while also completely natural. I loved getting to know then as they got to know each other. The situation which Ash & Dash find themselves in really highlighted who they really are on the inside. The intricate character development left me feeling as if I really knew them.

Macomber is the master of Christmas! This is the must read holiday novel of the season.

I was attracted to a humorous theme for a holiday book and this didn't disappoint! While two stranded travelers are forced, by choice, to share on car to Seattle, a second plot emerges. Seems Ashley's name popped up on the "no fly list." The FBI scrambles to locate her and starts the chase! This case of mistaken identity proves to bring laughs and smiles to the reader and she adds a puppy to bring out the "awws." A cross between cozy mystery and sweet romance, this is a fun holiday read!

2 likeable characters who meet, antagonize each other and then fall for each other. A few more sentences about how the FBI verifies their identity would have been interesting, but it was a great Christmas story. Of course, I loved the puppy, too! A fast read that you don't want to put down.

Graduate student Ashley Davison has just one wish for Christmas: to spend it with her widowed mother in Seattle. The opportunity comes along just days before the holiday, but to her dismay, there are no flights available. Worse, the ticket agent seems to be putting zero effort into trying to find her a flight, and the man behind her is getting rude. That man is Dashiell Sutherland, a former army intelligence officer who also needs a flight to Seattle and wishes the pretty young woman in front of him would move on so he can get one. When both are denied a seat, they unexpectedly meet up at the rental car agency, where there is only one car left. They reluctantly decide to share it, unaware that Ashley is being tracked by FBI agents who suspect her for terrorist activity.

Romance, humor and action are beautifully entwined in DASHING THROUGH THE SNOW, written by master storyteller Debbie Macomber.

Ashley isn’t sure what to think of her somber driving companion. He’s certainly good-looking, but not exactly the friendly type. All he seems to care about is getting to some job interview. Dash is not thrilled with having to share the car but couldn’t just leave Ashley at the airport, especially when she had no other means of transportation to her mother’s house for Christmas. Anyway, he can’t deny there’s something about her that piques his interest --- something that goes beyond her pretty face.

As Ashley and Dash head north from San Francisco toward Seattle, they are unaware that two FBI agents are questioning the ticket agent they encountered at the airport. She is unable to identify Ashley as the woman in their blurry photo, but that doesn’t stop them from believing that Ashley is the cunning terrorist they have been trying to capture. And the more they track her movements, the more convinced they become that Ashley is planning another attack --- this time with a bomb.

With no reason to suspect they are being followed, Ashley and Dash continue toward their shared destination, cautiously getting to know each other. Feisty, friendly and a bit quirky, Ashley is the polar opposite of Dash, with his military background and serious nature. As they draw closer to Seattle, he finds Ashley unexpectedly breaking down his walls. But will Dash’s newfound feelings for her be strong enough to endure allegations that she’s a suspected terrorist?

Lovable characters, fun dialogue, romance and a touch of Christmas festivity make this the perfect book to read during the Christmas season or to give to a mom, sister or friend. Fans of Debbie Macomber will certainly delight in DASHING THROUGH THE SNOW.

At under 5 hours, Macomber delivered an interesting read where two strangers share a ride from San Francisco to Seattle. Toss in a case of mistaken identity, a puppy and an overzealous FBI agent and things get downright interesting.

The story starts with a message from Debbie Macomber herself on how the story first came to fruition and it made me chuckle.

Ashley Davidson is a graduate student in California and a rare opportunity comes along allowing her to spend the holidays with her mother. Unfortunately, she cannot get a flight. No worries, she will just rent a car and drive home. When she gets to the checkout, she discovers there is only one vehicle left. Hooray! The man behind her Dashiell Sutherland a former army intelligence officer is trying to make it to Seattle for a job interview. Some complications, a phone call to his Mom, and some bickering back and forth soon finds the two traveling together. Insta-love nope, these two grated on each other’s nerves but you could feel the chemistry building. Macomber tosses in a few unexpected twists and these two embark on their adventure.

I had a delightful time listening and Allyson Ryan captured both Ashley and Dash giving me the opportunity to laugh aloud, roll my eyes and ride along with them.Audio provided by publisher, full review at caffeinated book reviewer.

I had fun reading this book
I liked the surprises & the quirkiness (*you'll know what i mean*)
The reading was a fast & easy read for the holiday time, keeping a smile on my face while I ran my errands
though interesting enough to hold my attention.
It was a light Christmas read, with some character development thrown in
& innocent romance + love, too.
And of course the cute puppy didn't hurt!

This is a must read if you are a fan of Debbie Macomber and her Christmas stories.

Hallmark made it into a movie, and I will admit to watching it before reading the book. I actually think that the movie was better than the book, because it added more depth to the characters and their road trip to Seattle.

I truly enjoyed this quirky Christmas novel. Two unlikely characters pair up to travel to Seattle with some federal agents trailing behind. Ashley and Dash slowly warmed up to each other over the course of the novel. Their relationship never felt forced, and was very entertaining to watch. The whole case of mistaken identity was a little harder to explain away. It did provide some interesting bits of comic relief.

I know that if anyone wants a cute Christmas or winter-themed book to cozy up with by a fire with some hot chocolate, I will recommend this book.

Really just a stupid story. The characters were likeable, but their relationship was very rushed and the things that happened to them were unbelievable. Why not just stick with the TSA mixup and leaved it at that?

This was the first time I had to make myself finish one of the author's books. Definitely not worth the price, I'm very glad I checked it out from the library.

As an avid Debbie Macomber fan...I feel a little bit like a traitor when I say...this book was pretty much horrible! Kind of on par with Danielle Steel's "The Klone and I". It was so embarrassingly ridiculous! I'm holding out for the next installment from the Rose Harbor Inn Series. Seriously, don't bother!

I decided to listen to Dashing Through the Snow by Debbie Macomber through Audible this year as I still have quite a bit of crocheting to do for Christmas and wanted to do both at the same time. It turned out to be a definite treat!

I admit I was a bit puzzled when I first started listening to this book but then I soon realized that this was a purely funny, obviously fantastical light-hearted tale. I decided to just go with the flow of it and I am so glad I did!

There were parts of this book that I truly enjoyed and some that I could have done without (aka - car repairman) but overall I laughed my socks off and came away from the story with laughter in my heart and a big smile.

Ms. Macomber has a great sense of humor and she has added a large dash of that humor into this story. I truly enjoyed Dashing Through the Snow and I sure did a whole lot of whole lot of laughing too!

Spice up your life and enjoy Dashing Through the Snow this Christmas season!

I wondered if it was just me that did not like the book but reading the reviews I now know it wasn't. This book honestly just grated on my nerves. The FBI part seemed kind of just tossed in there for randomness. I was pretty disappointed in this book. I would rather wait a little longer for a better book than have a hurried one. Hope next year's is better!

This book made me smile.

It was a quick Christmas read that will be turned into a Hallmark movie.

Ashley is wanting to fly to Seattle to surprise her mom for Christmas. But someone with her same name is on the do not fly list and therefore she can't fly. She goes to rent a car and isn't able to because she is under 25 but the man behind her (the same man that was behind her at the airline ticket counter) rents the car and agrees to share it with Ashley.

The story that unfolds as they drive from SFO to SEA is a great read. Lots of moments to smile, and even a puppy in involved.

This book may touch my heart a little extra as so much of it relates to my life. I used to live in SFO and visit SEA. I have a daughter Ashley who is also in grad school and has had to deal with not being able to rent a car because she wasn't 25.

Dashing through the snow a Christmas novel by Debbie Macomber
Ashley Davidson wants to get back to Seattle for the holiday and the airline can't sell her a ticket. Dash needs to be in Seattle for a job interview.
She wanted to surprise her mother. She heads to the car rentals and gets the very last car available.
Dash agrees to pay for everything and this way she can save her money for gifts. Problem is she is not old enough to rent the car...but he is!
Little does Ashley know her name is on the no fly list, expected to be a terrorist! Anything that could possibly go wrong does and then some.
They do get to spend a lot of time talking to one another and find each other attractive. Short cute story for Christmas.
I received this book from National Library Service for my BARD (Braille Audio Reading Device).

The story about two strangers sharing the last rental car to drive home to Seattle for Christmas was cute; the other story line was kind of ridiculous. The author said in the introduction that her husband came up with the idea about an average person being put on a no-fly list--don't listen to your hubby next time, Debbie ;-)

This was the first romance novel I ever read. I enjoy the Hallmark movie very much, so I looked forward the the book. Debbie Macomber has a long list of hits but this reads like a first draft. The screenplay by Maria Nation is delightful and a big improvement.

God awful. The only thing worse than the cheesy, mind-numbing dialogue is the anti-climactic ending. The whole book is driving towards a big finish and then fizzles out like a bad Alka Seltzer.

I literally rolled my eyes several times while reading. But I managed to slog my way through because I can't stand to leave a book unfinished. Don't read this drivel. It's too late for me, save yourself!

I do enjoy Debbie Macomber's Christmas stories. I laughed my way through Dashing Through the Snow as the characters encountered one challenge after another in a merry little unsuspecting trip from California to Seattle Washington.

Debbie created some very realistic characters that enticed the reader to continue following their journey toward Christmas in Seattle. The story was peppered with laugh out loud moments as the storyline twisted and turned and the travellers encountered more and more bizarre characters along the route.

If I could recommend one Christmas read to tickle your funny bone this holiday season, it would be Dashing Through the Snow.

I became familiar with this title through the Hallmark movie that I had thought previously, was based on this book. It is a very rare occurrence when a movie of this ilk, is as good as the book; however, this is the exception. I feel the screenplay written for the movie was much more entertaining and the storyline was not as ridiculous and pointless as the novel. My advice, forget the book for this and watch the film?

This book was a great and quick read, the story was developed and interesting. I honestly think the story could have continued a little longer than it did like what happens after they decide they really like each other? what about the other lady the FBI was really searching for? I think more could have been put into this story although I don't really see this as a Christmas book either except that they were trying to get her home to her mom for Christmas it never shared how they celebrated or anything even after their Christmas eve dinner... to much time was taken with the drive to Seattle!

3.5/5 This review can also be found on my blog, www.danaandthebooks.com

Those who know me well are aware that I’m not big on Christmas cheer; some go as far to call me a Grinch.

Why the hell is she reading a Christmas novel, you ask? The reason I requested Dashing Through the Snow book from NetGalley was not because it was a Christmas story, but because the plot looked like fun and cute (and it just so happened to take place during Christmas).

And I was right. It was one of those stories that you need to read in one sitting because it’s so friggin cute.

Basically, complete strangers Ashley and Dash both need to get to Seattle by December 23. All flights are full and there’s only one rental car left, so they decide to rent it together and start the drive from California. An adventure against time ensues, there’s a snow storm, a case mistaken identity, and a cute puppy. Throughout the peril-filled drive, the two of them get to know each other and maybe a romance blossoms?

Yes, you have to go into this book with a sense of suspended disbelief – no way would the FBI be that incompetent – but it was adorable and had some genuinely funny moments. Throughout reading this I kept thinking how it would make a cute movie, and it turns out I was right! According to IMDB it will be released December 13 as a TV movie.

I had actually never heard of Debbie Macomber before, but a quick browse through her Goodreads page tells me she’s quite a well established author. Next time I want a cute and quick story, I’ll be looking through her works!

I received an advance reading copy from NetGalley for an honest review.

I purchased the book. It is an enjoyable read for the Christmas season. The spirit of the season comes through as Ashley and Dash meet an interesting assortment of characters. The point of these meetings is to change both of the main characters. A smile comes to my face when I think of the story. The FBI personnel could be metaphors for anyone delaying a journey and then setting the two on the right path, after they recognize it.

I liked the story between Dash, although I thought his name was pretty strange, and Ashley. They did seem to fall in love a little too quickly, in only two days which is pretty unlikely. The puppy part was cute. The FBI part, in my opinion, was pretty stupid and really unnecessary. For the most part though, I did enjoy it.

I have read almost everything Debbie Macomber has written. Dashing Through the Snow made me wonder if she had hired a"ghost writer" to write this book. The whole FBI scenerio was unbelievable. Debbie's strong suit is building substantive characters. That ability was sorely lacking in Maun characters, Dash and Ashley.

I loved it, as I do all of her Christmas novels. While it wasn't as good as Mrs. Miracle or Starry Night, it was still a highly entertaining story with a very sweet romance. The adorable little puppy, the Vietnam veteran, and the ending all make it well worth the time and money. I can't wait to see the Hallmark movie and I highly recommend this novel.
