I always enjoy Debbie's books. She develops characters well, the language is acceptable, and the actions are proper. I can enjoy her stories without blushing!! Or even letting my teenage grand daughters read the books.

I thoroughly enjoy books by Debbie Macomber. I usually stay up too late reading chapter after chapter, unable to squelch the urge to read just a couple more pages! Someday Soon was no exception. After reading this book recently, I researched and found that she had written two sequels, both available in paperback now. They are due to arrive at my doorstep tomorrow. I look forward to their arrival.

The story and characters very good but I didn't think the explicit sex was at all necessary. I was surprised Debbie used it so much and I didn't find that it contributed to the whole story line at all.

I love Macomber and she didn't disappoint. Just when you know the story has finished and everyone lives happily ever after - bang the bad guy reappears and it seems like he will get his revenge. You know a Macomber book has to have a happy ending, but this one really had to work to get there. Let's just say thank goodness for mean natured llamas, dirty, starving, orphaned calves, and men who know how to take care of the women they love.

It seems that Debbie Macomber has changed the style of book that she is writing. This book was full of "violence" and was not a "feel good book". I had difficulty reading it. I always finish books I start but was not sure I could finish this one. I guess I should have picked up on the mercenary part of the book. There are several books in the series Deliverance and they are the least favorite of the 70+ books by Debbie Macomber that I have read.

I really enjoyed reading this book. I wish there was more that I could have read out of it as well as another book from this particular series. I would definitely suggest this book to someone who loves suspense and it is a book that you just can't put it down!

I like Debbie Macomber's books, But I didn't appreciate the explicit sex scenes. This is way beyond my comfort zone and way below my expectations from Debbie. The story line is good, but the sex scenarios ruined what could have been a good book.

I have read with enjoyment everything that Ms Macomber has written and enjoyed them all. I do not like to read about violence, though I do know it exists aplenty in our world. I wish she would not continue in this vein. Back to Cedar Cove, please!

I have been reading Macomber books for over 25 years. I took a short break and then got a kindel and an iPad. Now I have tried many of her recent novels and I am so dissapointed. I would think someone hijacked her name and reputation to publish trite junevile stories.

Shocked by misuse of grammar. Used "free reign" when the term is "free rein" ! A bestselling author has not learned this (nor has her
editor/beta reader). Plot was non-suspenseful. And the title was ripped off the country song by the late Ian Tyson.

Wow, I'm soooo disappointed. I've spent weeks researching romance novels because my adult foreign students want to read a romance in English. I searched and searched for something class appropriate (no sex scenes) that both the men and women would enjoy. I landed on Debbie Macomber, but most of her books wouldn't appeal to the men. Then I saw this one, read the beginning and the synopsis, and was so excited, I almost emailed the whole class to buy it! As an afterthought, I searched through the whole book and found the type of graphic sex scenes I could have found anywhere. Back to Square One...

I love historical romance, but I'm not a fan of explicit sex scenes. I usually don't care for contemporary novels, but I've been wanting to read something by Debbie Macomber for a while and chose this book as my first. I'm very pleased with it and am now eager to read the rest of the Deliverance series.
Linette Collins is a young widow with a lot of problems. Her husband of 2 years has been dead for 2 years and yet she can't bring herself to move on. To complicate matters, his parents are very much a part of her life, pushing her to dedicate her life to his memory. She works too hard and socializes too little, and when her sister in law invites her to a Christmas party, she accepts only out of obligation. Little does she know this is a turning point in her life, because Cain McClellan happens to be at the same party.
Cain is a mercenary, a hired soldier who engages in risky operations when the U.S. government cannot intervene. He risks his life without a second thought and prefers a life without family or complications. His attraction to Linette at his high school friend's Christmas party throws a kinkk in his plans, not that he's complaining.
This is a romance novel. The characters fall in love, and there is a "happily ever after" ending, as we expect. However, don't think there aren't any surprises. On the contrary, toward the end of the book is a very big unexpected event. Although the main conflicts are resolved, there's a mixture of romance, tragedy, action, and forgiveness to keep it balanced. The romantic dialogue seemed a bit trite at times, but there were enough sigh-worthy moments for me to overlook a bit of awkward dialogue. There are other characters with major story lines of their own as well. I loved the story of Tim and Francine. There were some truly hilarious moments with these two!
This book is what I'd call a PG romance. Sex is mentioned, as is quite a bit of innuendo, but there aren't any true sex scenes. (No worries about "bulging members" or "heaving bosoms.") Also, the characters only engage in sex after they are married. There have been a few reviews discussing the morality of the characters. I did not find it to be preachy in the least, but thought it only heightened the romance. This is a love story; not a lust story. Also, Cain is a strong male hero, while Linette is soft, small and feminine. Again, this is not a drawback to me. I didn't think it reflected 1950's ideals, but it is definitely more conservative than many books in the romance genre.
This is an entertaining, beautiful romantic novel. Linette is afraid of losing love again, and Cain is afraid of giving up even a small bit of control over his life. How these two characters from completely different worlds manage to come together makes for a very interesting story. I was interested in the descriptions of the operations from the Deliverance Company as well, and thought it was a very well-balanced novel. It's very enjoyable, and I can't wait to read more.

Macomber drew me in from the first sentence allowing me to connect with her characters and live vicariously through her words. This novel was short & sweet, yet still deeply emotional. Everything became so real to me without being over the top.
I enjoyed the intertwining characters’ stories. It made the novel more complex and rewarding. At the same time it let me get to know the characters on multiple levels. The dynamic among the members of the Deliverance Company was intriguing. Their lives and the personal realisations that they each came to were quite revealing. The women in this novel were also fantastic. They were so different yet so real. I loved seeing everyone’s different outlook on life.
Macomber’s writing will never go out of style. She’s once again created a sweet novel that has wound its way into my heart.

I have enjoyed most of the Debbie Macomber books I have read and this was no exception. I was in the mood for something fluffy and light since the next book in my reading stack deals with a true life account of drug and alcohol addiction .... I defintely wanted something uplifting before tackling that ! I was very please with my selection.
Ms. Macomber's books are always a quick read and I read the first 200 pages in one sitting and finished it the next day. One of the things I like best about her books is that you end up feeling better about the world when you are finished and that was true with this one as well. I won't bore you with the story line since it is available in the product description, but I will share that the settings of San Fransisco and Montana provide a nice back-drop and allow the characters to change locations which moves the story along well. I also enjoyed the fact that one of the female characters is described as tall, large-boned, not particularly attractive and has a very strong personality and yet is written about very positively. She is the archtype to the small, delicate love interest yet is one of the people who finds love and happiness ...... what a pleasant deviation from most stories. She ended up being my favorite character!
If you enjoy Debbie Macomber books, I think you will like this one. It's perfect reading when you don't want to have to think too hard or you are in the mood to feel uplifted.

This is one of Debbie Macomber's better novels. The biggest issue that I had with it (and this is a common theme with her work) is that Linette gets involved with a man she knows is a mercenary and then whines endlessly about it. It's a bit like the Macomber book where the woman marries a rodeo cowboy and then freaks out because he goes to the rodeo. I just want to scream at them, "You knew what you were getting into!" I suppose it plays into a female fantasy of changing a man.
Anyway, this is an entertaining, romantic, quick read with a little action thrown into the mix.

I will say this; Debbie Macomber does create realistic characters.
However, she always puts in something extra. Something unnecessary. Like Francine and whoever that other guy was. It took me a while to realize that their story was going to be continuing throughout the whole book. It felt like their story was also more written about, and it was really annoying because those two were really...ugh.

This was an amazing book. Very well written and a quick read. You will fall in love with all of the main characters. There are two couples lives being played out and you'll be equally captivated by both. A must read.
I recently found out this is only one in a series. I'll be reading them all.
