Excellent reading. This is the first of Ridley's books that I have read and I do believe I'm hooked. Very well written and I even enjoyed the fact that the heroine is probably someone I would truly not like even remotely in real life. Highly recommend it!

So obviously an introductory presentation of a new series, 119 pages contains the requisite hero and heroine who are briefly described, thrown together, fall in love. The end. What else is included? In passing, other characters and events which obviously will reappear in future books. What's missing? Believable characters ( or any character development) to bring the main characters to life. Lady Amanda is beyond efficient, having spent every moment of the past 15 years flawlessly managing every detail of her brother's ducal household. Until she decides she should find a husband within the next two weeks. Viscount Sheffield has spent the past 10 years devoting 12 hours every day to work and 12 hours to revelry: at his desk from 8 am to 8 pm, out all night pursuing pleasure (no hint of time to sleep). He has no intention of allowing a mere chit to interfere. But a few pages later, he is suddenly besotted and proposing.

This book was an easy breezy read. The characters are witty and compelling. At times I wish there were more flawed. I wish this book could have been a bit longer to bring out more conflict and resolutions. Overall fast-pace fun with good chemistry characters.

I really enjoyed this book. Loved the characters and their interactions especially the heroine. Witty. Something slightly different and more intriguing than your average historical romance. - Jessica_KY

Decent story, some areas were full of descript. Liked the character development. Story line intriguing, till the end that is. Could have written the ending from the very first paragraph though. Good use of period setting.

Somehow I seem to have missed all the humor and charm that other reviewers have found in this novella. I found the heroine to be totally obnoxious. Her 'efficiency' to me seemed to be nothing more than a total disregard of anyone else's opinion or needs. She bulldozed her way through any and all situations. She was more like a robot than a human as far as feelings for others were concerned. The hero wasn't much better. Since he worked from 8am to 8pm and then partied from 8pm to 8am, I guess he was also a robot...since he obviously needed no sleep! Period detail was also lacking here. It really didn't feel like a Regency. And, for me, the worst sin of all...it was boring.

Viscount's Christmas Temptation by Erica Ridley is a Christmas historical novella. I have enjoyed previous books by her so was eager to read this one. She did not disappoint. Usually a little off beat with her characters, Lady Amelia Pembroke continues that line of characters. She is an endearing type A personality who loves to manage. I agree with her that Lord Benedict's life could use a bit of her touch. They were entertaining and downright fun to see together.

This is a light hearted, humorous, engaging story. Viscount's Christmas Temptation leaves you with a warm feeling in your heart and a smile on your face. Just what is needed when the holiday season preparations seem overwhelming and are wearing you down. I find it to be a great introduction to a new series.

A novella about a very boring and controlling 30 year old woman and a viscount who is rigid by day and a playboy at night. It had it's moments and some humor but I didn't see the connection between the couple. The characters had no depth. The story no real tension because as they showed a hundred times she could manage anything and anyone.

This is either a farce (probably) or just a romance lacking believability. Not my taste. Nothing about this worked for me. There was little doubt why the h was not married by age 30. The question remains why, after being obnoxious, scheming, and difficult our poor young Lord was interested.
