The most valuable thing I got was the idea that objections are just lack of trust, not actual objections. It's almost like he's an old wise man who understands life, because he's been through it all and can speak wisdom to you that would have took you a life time understand. Basically, you're getting the wisdom of an all time great salesman downloaded into your brain, with out having to work 30 years to attain it. Most of the book flows really well and is exciting to read. A few chapters are kinda boring, like tone and body language, but he kept me reading by constantly relaying the benefits of the chapter, just like a great salesman should.

I've read a lot of business / sales books, but none of them have left me wanting to re-read them. The way Jordan speaks / writes feels like he's sitting next to me telling me his secrets. To finish my first sentence, I will be re reading this book because it's that dam real.

Absolutely amazing!! Would rate 100 starts if possible
I never leave reviews but I feel compelled to give an opinion. This book and the Straight Line System has helped me break down my business, and asses what actually works.
Sales have been up since I started reading it, and more importantly- appointment booking has become easier.
Jordan has a way with transferring his skill set to make people better than they started.
I feel like a natural when I get on the phones.
It’s great to have his knowledge and experience to learn from so that people can benefit from his successes and failures.
Highly recommended to everyone.
Best way to benefit from this book is to get the hard copy for your review, as well as the audiobook so that you can benefit from the tonality, and enthusiasm when he speaks.
Anyone can benefit from the strategies, whether you are in sales or not.

This book is really meant for the B2C salesperson and the majority of the sales examples used in the book are for stockbrokers, etc. I actually listened to the majority of the course he offers and wasn't that impressed. There are some decent concepts involving tonality, body language as well as some concepts around looping, etc. but most of this has been written about in other leading sales books.
Bottom line - if you are in B2B selling to multiple high-level decision makers where a long-term business relationship is valued, this book isn't going to provide much impact. Some of the techniques and advice comes off like a used-car salesman lacking sophistication.

Great book - easy read. Gives excellent overview of the sales process - I've seen these techniques/methods discussed in other books/courses, but never all together in one book. Belfort does a good job of summing it all up. There is still a lot of learning to do after reading this book, but it sure gets you pointed in the right direction.

This was a great read! If you are in sales you should definitely check this book out. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking to increase their results! This book is by far one of the best books I have read on sales.

I have read literally dozens of books on sales and persuasion, this is head-and-shoulders above the rest. Absolutely outstanding book to learn how to sell without pressure or gimmicks. This guy has forgotten more about persuasion than most of the sales "gurus" will ever know.

I’m sure there are lessons to be learned about his techniques, but he should definitely scrap doing his own narration, and hire a professional who is trained in diction and speech. His thick NJ dialect, and slimy salesman voice, combined with a decided narcissistic way of communicating is like nails on a chalkboard. It was just too painful, and I couldn’t finish the audiobook.

Bought this book and wow this an amazing view of a world I never knew existed. Upon reading this book then watching natural sales people perform the actions in this book is incredible. I still feel like the book needs supplemental readings for specific fields, but nevertheless, it was possibly one of the most informative books I have in my collection. Salute, cheers, and enjoy.

I have studied at his seminars which book is based and I work in elite Private Wealth Management field have translated his skillset into navigating 7 figure relationships with ultra HNW family office type clients. This in confluence with having over 10 financial de $ignations has made me virtually the Alabama /NY Yankees of portfolio managers when it comes to victory over so called distant rear view competition in places like West Palm/Naples.

I am going to be as detailed as possible to give all the pros and cons, what I liked, didn't like etc.. so forgive me if its too long. I am going to start with the Cons since they are shorter. For the record, I have both the Audible version and the print version and I highly recommend you doing the same. Jordan narrates the audible version and it's like he is coaching you the entire way. Lastly, I also have his Straight Line course but I have to say... I like the audio and print book combo much much better. It is EXACTLY the same material but I think he cleaned it up a lot and I think it flows better in the book. The course is definitely worth it though.
Cons: 1. He talks a LOT. In fact, I think the one thing that hurts the book is he talks so much about the process that could be said in much less time and words but that's his style. Many times throughout the book I find myself needing to go back to search for what I just learned. It's in there but he talks so much about it that the message and technique gets lost. I've said many times to myself that I wish he had a real summary at the end of each chapter summarizing the message. It would be sooooo helpful. Maybe he'll come out with a summary on his website for people who bought the book or just sell it. I would buy it.
2. He talks in circles a lot and tends to jump around a lot and because of that, it's hard to follow where he's at in the process. But, if you put in the time, you'll find it and you won't be sorry. The message and techniques are the best I've found.
Pros:
1. It works! I am still learning and reworking my scripts etc but the process works tremendously well. In fact, I booked an appt last week after trying no less than 4-5 times over the past year with this one prospect. Even with only the beginning down and some verbiage of the script, I found myself saying the things he says in the book and I had a great conversation with her and booking the appt went strangely, very easy.
2. He uses the "Straightline" technique throughout the book. What I mean is that the book is written in the Straightline way. It's funny because I listened to the book no less than 10 times and I didn't pick this up until just recently that he uses the techniques constantly through the book. To me, that says it works because I didn't pick up on it until just recently.
3. The audible version is excellent for hearing "HOW" to say the script. In fact, one of the true beauties of the audible version is you get to hear him using the tonalities which do not come through in the book version. But they are very clear in the audible version and VERY important if you are going to use his system. In fact, if all you did was buy the book and read it, I don't think you can get the real message in the book. I don't know you could.
4. One of the cores of the course are that you need to get to 3 levels of certainty with the prospect. He is 100% on the money and I've learned so much because of this. The client needs to believe in you, your product and your company. He explains this very well and how to achieve each one. In fact, the entire process is about obtaining these 3 things. I've rethought my entire in-person presentation because of it.
5. Once you truly understand the system you will realize that it's not that difficult and that it all makes so much sense. You have to buy into though 100% and if you do I think there is no limit to the success you can have.
To give you some background in myself, at one point early in my career, I was the #1 producer for the largest insurance firm in the northeast. After reading this book I realized why... I had complete belief in myself, my company and my product and that came through on every call. This book is helping me to get there again but this time, it's helping me to convey the message to the prospects so much better than I did back then.
Lastly, I plan on updating this post as I begin to use and perfect the system with my success and failures. My belief is this... I'm buying into this 100%... if I fail, it will be his fault, not mine. Sound fair enough?

This is the 21st century! 1980s boiler room tactics don't work anymore. Try the tricks in this book for tele-marketing and you'll get the expected ring-tone from strangers whom you're trying to poach over the phone! The "tonal-adjustment" tricks in this book could be likened to Jehovah's Witness' door-to-door salesman tricks in telephone format. A con is a con. It's doesn't matter what sales tricks you use. If you're lucky, you could get a sale or two from unsuspecting prospects, but don't expect customer retention for the long-term.
I'm slamming the phone down now!
Goodbye!

His $1,997 was so effective that I'm going to do something I've never done and rate a book before I read it. If I'm not back within a a week of receiving this book, it's worth your time. Jordan Belfort revolutionized my prospecting. I save so much time now that I am able to categorize people quickly and qualify my prospects before I even ask the more penetrating questions to bring them to the close. He taught me to throw out 90% of the useless sales BS that lawyers, doctors, and financiers told me. Those guys were struggling to stay in business and I was trying to start one. Jordan Belfort started, succeeded, and failed in business many times and he's worth your time. He isn't Jesus and he's not going to solve all your problems or show you the way to the promised land, but if you don't come away with at least one important thing that changes how you do sales then you're already too successful to be reading sales books like the rest of us losers. ;)

I LOVE this book! So much practical, usable material. Jordan Belfort's writing is easy to read and conversational. His Straight Line System is fantastic! I love every detail. This is not a resell book this is a highlight it and make notes and treat it like a sales bible-book. I have been using some of the techniques daily in my retail store and they worked IMMEDIATELY. The library had an eBook copy which I read awaiting the books arrival. His style may not be for everyone. I can see a bunch of whiners complaining about some of the things he says, but that is because they are short sighted idiots hung up on their own monkey mind. There is GOLD in this book for those who invest to mine it out. I am already budgeting to take his whole system. This should be a classic of sales, but I'm glad it's not because I want the techniques all to MYSELF!

This how-to book gets to the nitty-gritty of how to inspire confidence using not only the correct phrases (there are lots of books about that) but also the nuance of using voice pitch and dynamics. So for telephone sales, especially, where voice is the key medium, optimum success is gained with optimum use of the voice. Seasoned and successful salesperople may already have discovered these techniques, but newbies haven't, so this is a good book for trainers and trainees. I see the advices given here being best absorbed by using them in role playing prior to "real life" situations
.
As with any tool, these techniques can be used for good or evil. In his previous life, Belfort used these techniques to defraud clients, allegedly. This text has a Politically Correct theme of using these techniques to genuinely serve the client's needs, not the seller's quotas.

This book was a waste of my money. I really thought I could come away with even one good gem that could help me in my selling and I found now. I'm now only $26.99 poorer as a result of having purchased this piece of junk. It's old, passe' methods for selling that buyers, especially sophisticated ones, would find distasteful and downright unethical. His arrogance is a theme that pulsates from page to page. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your money on this book. Use the $26.99 instead to go have a nice dinner somewhere. reading it was like scratching on the chalkboard--I thought if I kept reading it I would kill myself!

I borrowed this book from the library, but I bought it so I could mark up the pages. I've been in sales all of my life (OK, since I was 12), but this is the first book I've read on controlling the sales process from hi2buy. Masterfully done and conversationally written. There IS an immediate transformation if you start to carry yourself the way he suggests. The negative reviews may by people who were looking for a magic bullet. Like most things in life, if it were all really easy, everyone could do it. Find the pearls and use them. They're in this book. This is material to internalize, review, and practice until it's polished. I plan to get the audiobook, too, to hear him do the conversations for his tonality.

I had mixed emotions about Way of the Wolf. There's a strong undercurrent of arrogance and pomposity (look at the cover photo) running through the book. "I felt as if I were channeling [the System] from... a place of infinite knowledge and wisdom." And his system was so utterly brilliant that, after he deigned to teach it to people who could barely "walk and chew gum at the same time," even they were able to make millions.
But. If you can get past all that, and it's a lot to get past, I grant you - sort of like eating a really good fish filet with a lot of bones - there are some useful sales tools that I haven't seen before.

Received from Netgalley for my honest review.
The book was ok. Mr. Belfort has a wonderful way of living his life and helping others. Some people this just doesn't apply to or they just aren't that type of a person to sell, sell, sell. It was informative, but just not for me.

This guy made his money by stealing it from good people that worked hard to earn it. If you want to succeed in sales put your customer's needs before your own and the referrals and money will snowball your way.

Belfort didn't invent the Straight Line sales method. It's been around in brokerage houses for years. I think it came from Lehman originally. He leaves one important ingredient out of his sales method. The "secret sauce" if you will. He lied to his clients. He made promises he never intended to fulfill. This is a fact and demonstrated by his jail sentence. He still owes millions to the victims of his crimes. Don't give this guy your money.

If you are in sales, this is a fantastic way to spend a few bucks and 7 hours. Having the book read by Jordan makes it even better! What he teaches isn't necessarily new, but the fact that he bundles it all up in a tidy, simple to follow package makes it worth a hundred times more than it costs.
