This book is for anyone who wants to start a blog/website. It is simple and straightforward, full of useful information and links for more information to help you get started right away. I read it once all the way through and then went back and took notes..

I am a complete beginner, and hyperventilate when I do anything harder than check my e-mail. My business could benefit from a blog, so I decided to create one. This book does a lot of hand-holding, which is exactly what I need. I e-mailed Mike Omar a question and he responded right away.

This is a great book to learn about internet marketing, and understanding how to make money online through passive income websites. If you read through this carefully, going through each step and take action, you will succeed and get the expected outcome from this program.

This book is incredibly useful. Additionally, I've checked out Mike's website, and the YouTube videos are fantastic. I love how he gives you little tasks (h/w assignments) and builds off of those in later posts.

This is the most comnprehensive book I have read on blogging! Mr. Omar outlines every step of the process from the beginning. I learned how to buy a domain name and got a great deal through the book link. Thgere are many links that click through to his website where I could see samples of the techniques in the book. To me this subject is new and there is a lot to learn. I found Mike's writing to be insightful and useful for my thought process. Time will tell how much hard work is required but the mysteries are minimised and the road map is clear. This book read at times like a transposed blog or 'repurposed' work, that said, if the thoughts are good then why not. This book really makes this process seem sensible and straight toward.

I'm an lifelong entrepreneur and have managed to somehow get by with any sort of website for a long time. Now, that I am trying to expand my business, this step-by-step book has helped guide me in the right direction. I can't wait to finish creating my blog now that I've already started the process!

I have read several blog books and so far this one is the most complete. There are passages that refer to a website for more detail, but site was not working the day I read the book. Other than that, I've started writing my blog and feel like this book has given me the skills and tools to be successful.

I am new to affiliate marketing. I needed a book to teach me more about blogging. I did a search on the store and came across Mike Omar's book; "How To Start A Blog That People Will Read". I ordered the book and after I received it and started reading, I was impressed by the author's willingness to teach you not only everything he knew about the subject, but also teaching how to create a website in a very simple way and easy to understand writing style, accompanied by more guidance and useful links. In my opinion the author is very knowledgable about internet marketing in general and his goal is to teach everything he knows to his readers, which is very important. I just ordered all of his other books available on the store. I also visited his website and subscribed to his YouTube video channel. Mike Omar is knowledgable and honest. I wish him the best of success, and I will follow his guidance on my affiliate marketing endeavor.

WOW! I want to first start by saying this book was very informative. I got more than i expected. Not only did i get great info on how to make a blog. I got info on how to build a website and a source for much more info for making money online. a must read for newbies and established online marketers.

It's okay. Covers the basics without a lot more. It was written to have a book/ebook to sell and the links to the authors website are probably for the same purpose. Nothing wrong with it, but not enough information to use it as reference material.

I thought starting a blog might be difficult. So I got a book. After reading about 20 pages - I got bored and started a blog at wordpress.com - they provide a very brief intro video that gets you started. It is better just to start the blog and learn as you go. Don't bother buying a book about it.

Too many repetitions from his prior book. He just copy-pasted a lot. He repeats himself not only from one book to another but within one book. And too many times. I usually get the idea from 1st (maximum 2nd) time

Mike Omar is very simply an expert in writing and instructing on how to build your own web site or blog. He makes it all understandable. You can first follow the directions in his books, then use his web site tutorials and build your own site.

He has the knack for making it comprehensible for anyone. I love learning and I especially love it when a person like Mike Omar makes learning so clear and logical.

This book is easy to understand and absolutely the most comprehensive book on blogging to date. I feel it is a "must"read. The book gives step by step instructions and access to free video tutorials for each step.

This book seems to be a promotion for his website. All the references to his website are just a rehash of his other books and the text of this one word for word. No new information there. I am a beginner, and it was not reader friendly for me. I would tell other beginners and those still learning all the skills that go along with creating a website or blog to look elsewhere.

Mike makes it simple and understandable. There is so much crap about online income but this information has meat and backbone. I would suggest this ebook to all who are looking at setting up your own blog.

This book is very very informative. Two things I like about this book. First, Mike wrote it with his heart. Very very honest. I didn't even know how to cut and paste so how was I going to be able to do this? Well, Mike Omar makes it so simple to follow along that anyone can do this and should. Thank you Mike for all that you have taught me. It's priceless.

I read the book, and within a couple of hours I was blogging. Easy, Sweet, and Nice. I have recommended it to others, as it was recommended to me. Everyone should just do it, and start blogging. All you have to do is not quit, and you win. Today is the tomorrow you dreamed about yesterday.

I'd been wanting to start a blog for quite some time and while browsing the Kindle store this book caught my eye, so I picked up and got to work later that day. I had my blog set up in less than a couple of hours, and spent many more hours playing with different themes and colors, fonts, etc. It was actually much easier to make than I expected and was fun to play with after the initial setup (it was a little technical, but the video made it much easier).

I wasn't really interested in all the traffic techniques and make money techniques since this blog is mainly for me and my family / friends, but I suppose it's nice to have those things there for future reference. The author clearly took his time to make an easy to follow guide, but most of the book focuses on traffic generation, keeping readers coming back, and making money - not as much on design. Still a great guide though, absolutely worth the $3.

This book was fantastic. And when I say this, let me explain why saying this is different for me. I have read a LOT of books on making blogs and other online businesses. This one blows every one out of the water.
One of the things I enjoyed immediately was the way the author described the benefits of a blog. In most books that talk about starting a blog, the first benefit they describe is the income that can be created through blogging. In this book, the author describes a different benefit first; and that is the ability to record and organize your thoughts, and analyze topics in a way you normally would not. As a writer, I was immediately impressed because many times I am driven to write because of these exact reasons rather than the idea of "I could sell this.".
The entrepreneurial applications in this book are endless because the author teaches you to not only build a blog but also introduces you to the business of online business.
The best part about this book is the way it is written. First, it is written in language every one will understand. It is honest and the author is incredibly down to earth. While you are learning the many ways to become an entrepreneur, you don't ever feel like you are being talked down to or that the information has been over simplified. This concept is obvious even when talking about rather complex things like domain registration and purchasing, monetizing, SEO, marketing, Google ranking, Google Analytics, and Google Adsense. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to start a blog...well, let me be honest..I'll likely recommend it to everyone!

Challenge 4 for 2015 Read a "How to Book" This seemed easy . Read a 100 page book on how to create a Blog. This turned out to be not what I thought I signed up for. Let me explain .

My rating of 3 is not a negative rating but a choice I had to make . It has much good in it but for me it is not a "Love it" kind of book any more than my spelling workbook in grade school was to me at the time. It had much more info on how to make money than I wanted to wade through. It had distractions that sometimes drove me up the wall. I think the younger generation refers to this as "TMI" However, in time I may value this information more as I get more comfortable with the rest of it

First impression on skimming the book first time:
1-To quote the introduction Everyone needs to have a blog." and " The benefits that come from blogging will surprise you... over and over again." My take - Prove it
2-Well organized but just too much stuff. Lots of referrals to other websites. I decided to download the Kindle for Mainframe App. It allowed me to read the book and go directly to the referenced sites and be able to hear and easily see what was happening. This was not a possibility with my Paperwhite. If you have another version of the e-book you might not have this problem.
3-The author says " Set aside one hour and make your first website TODAY! " How will I know if I don't try ? I am 70 + years old and I was quaking in my boots but , Nothing ventured-Nothing gained.
4- The author says he is available as a resource any time. I challenged that by contacting him at his email address and he responds in a timely fashion with positive feedback .(At that time he did not know I was going to review him)

Actions taken as a result of reading the book. The author motivated me to not just think but move !
I downloaded the book 2/2/2015 and emailed Mike Omar the author 2/4/2015 and here I am 2/9/2015 with my domain name in hand and a website in progress. I am still fine tuning it and probably will for a few more days. If I were younger and learned by watching others "do" , I probably would have met the 1 hour creation schedule. I am a" learn by reading "person and have had to translate computer terminology into "Old English"
I feel that, without this book and the author's knowledge base, I wouldn't have considered much less done what I have done in the last week.

The good news is that this book does have useful information. The author admits that the book is really a compilation of lessons from his newsletter. The bad news is that it is difficult to read, has formatting issues, frequently repeats topics and constantly refers you to his website to watch videos of how to do it. Of course, these videos and links also try to sell tools and services. At least the author admits it: “Some of the links below are affiliate links and I will get paid a commission if you purchase through those links (at no extra charge to you). However, rest assured that I am ONLY recommending products that I use regularly myself to run and grow my business.” However, the biggest catch comes from his opening remarks where he admits that to make money blogging you have to build a “major blog with loyal readership”. Alternatively, you can learn to build websites and then have people pay you for your design services. So in my opinion, this books falls in the “if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is” category. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

The first thing wrong with this book is that it spends way too much time directing you to his site. For those trying to learn something, this is distracting. This is an ebook. The book has taught me nothing in the first few pages but to go to his site. He says it in every other paragraph. To me, this reads like he needs the hits to his site in order to make money since the ebook is free. When you write for money instead of passion to educate the world, your book becomes a piece of crap. I learned nothing but to GO TO HIS SITE. I'm reading HIS book. He needs to tell me everything he is trying to teach to me IN THIS BOOK without clicking to go somewhere else to find out what in the world he's trying to teach me.

I couldn't get past the first few pages because he kept telling me to go to his site. I had no interest in continuing reading this ebook since all he was doing was marketing his site (to make money) rather than writing about "How to Start a Blog..." Not a smart way to capture an audience. If he had written the book without the marketing distraction at the start, I would have read it all the way through and then went to his website for more information. That's the way the smart writers do it. That's how you sell yourself and your site, by offering up the content first and letting the reader decide at the end if they're going to go to your site.

The title of this book may be a bit off-putting if you're hoping to be able to do ALL the things it mentions on the cover.

Start a blog? Yes, this book will certainly help you do just that.
That people will read/develop a loyal readership? That's debatable.
Write about a topic you love? Again, debatable.
Make six figures doing it. Can be misleading.

Let me explain. I love cheesecake. Could I blog all day about cheesecake? Could I make money on a blog about cheesecake? I don't know about you, but after about the first week or so writing about it, I'd probably start to hate cheesecake. The fact is, the things that can make you money online and the things you love to write about may not intersect (and that's okay!). What's more, some of the methods in this guide do not specifically involve making money *with a blog*. Example: doing web design or other little side projects while blogging.

The "loyal readership" part is also a bit misleading. Going back to my cheesecake blog example, I might be able to connect with fellow cheesecake lovers, and that's great. But unless I'm giving them something truly DELICIOUS in my writing, there's no reason for them to come back. For those types of posts, I'd like to recommend Blog Prompts: 101 Creative Topics that Attract Customers, Invite Discussion and Help You Create a Loyal Legion of Fans as a companion guide to "How to Start a Blog". Because if you're determined to write about something you love, it pays to be interesting, helpful and open to discussion about it, and if you're new to the blogging process, you might run out of writing steam rather quickly without a few suggestions!

If you're new to blogging and making money with a blog in general, and want to know more about how the process works, this book is a helpful guide for your first try or two. But the methods mentioned here aren't the only ways to earn money blogging, and this guide shouldn't be viewed as the "soup to nuts" version of blogging. That being said, for starters, it's well worth the price.

Let me start by saying I am not new to marketing online, I have built multiple sites using other materials (some do OK, others not too good), before stumbling into Mike Omar's book, then his blog and Udemy lectures, and all the information I have gathered from Omar so far, have definitely put me on the right track. I have since built three websites using advice from this book, and I can say with confidence, Mike Omar is the real deal. He bothers not just to tell you what to do, but explains why you should do it. He doesn't hide information of feed you half facts. He seems truly interested in making sure that people succeed, and most importantly, he knows his stuff.

I am also using information from him to pull traffic to my websites, and will update this review as I go along. So far, I am very impressed and extremely happy, and this book is worth gold. If you are new, or struggling with website marketing, I'd advice you to get on the right track with Mike Omar's book, like I did!

Having been a blogger for years, just for the pure fun of it and not trying to make a profit, I thought this might be an interesting read.
There is a lot of good information in this book. I haven't used any of it yet so do not know if it's as easy as proclaimed.
I found the many links to other resources detracted from the continuity of the information.
Parts of the book did not display properly on my Kindle (but were fine on my Android device).
Since I usually review fiction, I feel I cannot really give an impartial review. I was bored!
If you're looking for a how-to book, it is a decent choice.

If you are looking for a book that shows you step by step how to start making money online by blogging, then this is it! Mike has links to videos as well as writing step by step instructions on how to accomplish it. About the only thing left to you is what to write about and he even includes instructions on how to get a list of topics that would help you narrow that down.

This book title caught my attention as I like to write and a short book on how to create a blog sounded great. Wow it turned out to be so much more than that; it was eye opening in that there is potential for additional high income potential to be had, and the author demonstrates that this is quite doable by the average person, as he himself has done this.
Upon reading the book I started to recognize these very same techniques everywhere on the web, and having ordered various digital products past and present, I now have a better understanding of the marketing, web pages, affiliates, and the amazing income potential.
Although this ebook concerns setting up a blog, you will learn so much more, such as creating websites without code, easily setting up a domain and hosting, how searches work, writing your blog, selling advertising, creating and selling your own digital product and linking, to name a few.
In addition you are introduced and given access to his incredible online resources and you are guided every step of the way with videos and live examples, it all starts to make sense, and you will perceive the web in a new light.

If you are new to blogging and are interested in earning money as a blogger, this book will help you get up and running. It has many links to his own website that will give additional information to other websites that will help you to establish a blog that will help you to earn passive money. Although I am not sure you can earn six figures a month, it is a good, basic book for beginners to develop a website that could help earn some extra money, and who can't use extra money?

First, let me state that I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review, not that it matters much since it's being run right now as a freebie. But beware of what you ask for.

It takes longer to watch all the videos he says to watch than to just read the book. And in the beginning of the book it seems like he tells you to watch a video about every 3rd or 4th line/paragraph. Ultimately, while the information is understandable, it just doesn't seem to be really useful for a beginner, unless they have first read his previous book "How to Make a Website or Blog Without Coding Using WordPress".

Mike Omar does a fantastic job of taking you step by step through what it takes to start and maintain a profitable blog. So many guides out there assume that you have expertise in one thing or another, leaving you scratching your head and wondering what to do next. Not so with this book. Follow along with Mike as he shows you in the companion videos just what it takes to get up and running.

So, after doing some surfing I ran across a few of Mike Omar's YouTube videos and I was sent to his blog where I purchased this book and man was I in for a treat...It is really all you need to get the ball rolling because once you start reading and watching the videos he makes available for Free on YouTube you will get a mini university degree in all aspects of blogging as a bonus...Because I'm a slow reader I am just about finished the book but I did start my blog and I am confident (with the information Mike gives...) that I will be monetizing my blog real soon. First, the author does a great job of explaining the concept of blogging in a clear and concise manner. He steps the reader through the process and outlines associated benefits. The book is a little repetitive but that worked well for me since it is my first time broaching the subject. Secondly, links to support resources are provided to support book content and enhance understanding. This book takes the reader beyond the basics of creating a blog and delves into set up and generating revenue.

Don't bother. I was looking for a good book on blogging and because of the reviews I thought this would be the one to checkout. Much to my disappointment, this turned out to be more like an ebook version of an infomercial. You would be hard pressed to not find a page where the author is telling you to "click here" on a link that takes you to one of his many websites for more information on what the book should be telling you in the first place. I do commend the author on promoting himself and his websites but, if you're going to write a book on a subject, write the book on the subject not one full of links to your websites. For anyone looking for info on blogging, your best bet is to check out one of the "For Dummies" series. They always have solid, easy to follow information. I wish I could be more positive as the author seems eager to help readers but the book is just a collection of links, repetition, and not much else.

Telling you in simple terms the best way to monetize, build while correctly structuring your site or blog. There is a right way to get these cash triggers to work for you. Mr.Omar gives realistic projections about earning from your blog. It is specific, and fun to read through, not just dry stats. He is clear, or I got the impression, that the money made is important. THEN he starts on what you are writing about. It is a very easy to understand guide to blog writing. This man wants to help you succeed in whatever you do. I am embarrassed to say that this book was way over my head..... Obviously, I require a book pointed at 60 something folks who know NOTHING or next to nothing about Blogs. Perhaps Mike Omar (a fine writer in my opinion) will attempt this pointed at a large portion of our society. Heaven knows, we are going away anytime soon.......

This books is well written and very informative. My problem is that I wasn't looking for a book that told me how to make money but just something that I could read that would tell me the basics of writing a blog. Money making will come later. I did enjoy the book but like I said I was looking for the basics first.

I was given this ebook free in exchange for my honest review. I found the information to be useful as well as easy to grasp. The author tells the reader that to succeed one must be willing to do the hard work that others are unwilling to do. Best advice ever.

Finishing up this book. Has a lot of info for a beginner wanting to learn to blog. As for me I will need to re-read and watch the video links that are included. This book answered so many questions I had had about blogging and made me aware of other issues such as legal ones that I hadn't thought of. If you want to blog, I think this book is a Must Read for you. Of all the things I've read, this has been the best so far. I would definitely recommend this. Mike takes you through the process step by step and also has videos available to help you. I received a copy of this book for an honest review and I was afraid that I wouldn't like it and would have to give it a lackluster review but I have no problem recommending it.

While I found the whole book informative and full of actionable tips, my favorite part of this book is where the author takes you step-by-step through the process of determining blog's monthly potential. I had no idea there was a formula for calculating something like that - brilliant tidbit of information.

Due an unanticipated busy seasonal work schedule, I haven't had an opportunity to read the entire book. It starts off leaving a large dose of using blogs to make money on line. My interest in blogging is for personal writing gratification. The book may well address this and I intend to complete reading the book now that the summer and foliage seasons are drawing to a close and life in Maine's seacoast region is returning to normal. This is a fabulous book! Mike takes a topic that could be very confusing, and presents it in a way that is understandable and doable! Much more detailed information than I expected. I got a digital copy and then ordered a hard copy, so I can refer to it often and take notes, etc.

I struggled with the book in part because I don't understand the techno-talk (which is NOT the author's fault) and I was not in a position to perform the step-by-step instructions he provided (slow computer, unstable internet connection - again, NOT the author's fault).

Within a few weeks this book has helped me launch my own WordPress site, improve the SEO of our work blogs, and given me the tools to help at least four close friends start up their own blogs. Not only is this book an easy read and full of useful tips, it's loaded with links to thorough YouTube tutorials that are the best I've seen. What I love about Mike Omar's style is that he provides excellent information, clear directions that are sequential, and he even answers questions online. Really! He responded to a question that I had when I launched my WordPress blog at record speed. This book is very detailed, complete with links that bring the reader to 'how to' flicks to watch. I feel confident I will be able to start my own blog successfully with the information in this book, and would recommend it to anyone interested in creating their own blog.

Very concise and straight to the point. I've been thinking of launching a blog for a side income which seemed daunting until I read this book. Now it finally seems like an attainable goal and I can't wait to read his other books and check out his videos for a more in-depth learning experience. I feel this book had a lot of good resources and information, but I am in a remote place in South America and the internet is not very good, so I could not take advantage of the author's information. A good starter book for blogging. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I'll be honest. I have not yet finished the entire book, however I am really liking what I see so far. Right from the the start the author provides links to resources! He does not make you read far into the book, or bog you down with useless rambling before he gives you the information you are seeking, The book is also easy to understand and contains a wealth of knowledge on the topic.

I have played with blogs over the past 10 years or so, haphazardly implementing many of the strategies the Mike covers in this book. However this is the first time I have 'thought' about them in combination... and the result is going to make a massive difference to my blogging.

The only major drawback to this book is the repetitive text sections the author has used to 'pad' the book, and the constant link backs to his own site. However I guess the later is in keeping with the message of the book. :-) If you look past these annoyances though you'll find this a great resource.

It took me a while to get around to writing this review because I wanted to finish reading the book first. However, I have discovered that the book should be treated more like a manual (so to speak). I refer to it not only to glean new insight but also to be reminded of information I previous read.

One thing I've always found remarkable, is how many tasks generally motivated people want to engage in (and would probably be very good at) but are completely stonewalled due to a few initial hurdles. This book simplifies the obstacles to starting a blog in easy step-by-step directions. It's really perfect for those who already know what they want to blog about, or those who are interested in blogging just as a business. In addition to knocking down those initial hurdles, it goes way further into details about how to actually generate traffic and make money.

I already have a personal blog, and am thinking of starting another for my business. Because I've never read a book on blogging, I picked this up, I was expecting to find that I already had a good grasp on the ins and outs of how a blog worked. But I underestimated the depth and width of this book. Mr Omar took me step by step through the process of buying a domain name to marketing and monetizing a blog. There are dozens of links within the book to examples on his website. I'm a visual person so that helped me tremendously. Backlinks are still a bit of a mystery, but I don't think that is because of the book. I believe it has more to do with the recent changes in Google search. Whether you are a newbie or a pro, there is something new to learn here.

After reading this ebook, I am excited to restructure my hunting and fishing website, [...] This ebook lays out the foundation, block by block, for beginners like me and I'm certain even long term bloggers can learn or touch up their skills from Mike's teachings. Not only do you receive an ebook, but you also get free information and even more structure from Mike's website and instructional YouTube videos. There isn't a better source of information for building and monetizing a successful blog available. Once again, Mike explains the process several different ways. Information found in his ebook, website, and You Tube videos allows for different learning styles that will cater to your specific needs. The ebook was somewhat useful, but there were real problems in incorporating this information in a blog.
1. There were no Chapters to refer to.
2. There were no page numbers noted.
3. All information is predicated on going to the author's website.
and finally one really has to go to the author's udemy lessons.

Just finished reading the book and Mike Omar is very good as t explaining things in an easy to understand way. I have taken things from this book that I will use in building my on-line business.
