I read the entire book on my kindle, but confess to skimming the section about lawyers. Although old myself, I think men aged 20-30 will benefit hugely by reading Bachelor Pad Economics. My guess is that Clarey's no BS writing style will appeal to millennials. In fact I plan to give my son a hard copy when he graduates from college next June.

I am a long time reader of Aaron' blog, so I was hesitant to buy the book, fearing that I will not find new information.
But I am glad I bought it. There was a lot of new info to chew on, and also every topic was very detailed.
Aaron was very objective and honest. My biggest suprise was the chapter about marriage, childeren family etc... Aaron represented the argument and counterargument in favor or againts marriage in a way that made me rethink my position on it.
Altough I do not live in the USA, I found this book useful. 90% of the information in the book is true almost everywhere. And that 10% is just techinal details about the retirement system in the USA, which can be used to evaluate your own specific plan.
There were some misspellings, I counted maybe 5, not a big deal.

This book is not exhaustive in any subject it covers. It is not a bible or encyclopedia that details how you should live your life as a bachelor. This book is valuable *because* the wide variety of subjects it deals with are all the essential topics that a young man needs to have basic knowledge in. In that effort, this book does a great job telling you all about the subjects you should have learned about from your dad, but didn't. The only reason I don't give it five stars is because I like detail, but that's a personal preference. This book will tell you what you should be doing, learning, and experiencing as a young, middle age, or old man that you hadn't been doing, learning, or experiencing yet in your life and suffering for it. It's a great buy for the price, well worth gifting to the men in your life.

One of the best books I've read so far. Aaron Clarey tells you the truth without sugar coating it, and his advice is very good. A must read for any man (or woman who can take the truth) who wants to learn about Economics and personal finance.

Interesting read, with a lot of truth and practical advice for young and old alike.
Being genuine and open in relationships requires discipline and vigilance.
I quick read, so I suppose it caught my attention.

Great book! I loved everything of it because it covers what every man needs to know about surviving and gives recommendations to other sources for more detailed sources of information about a specific topic or problem.

One of the best books on my shelf. If it had a long title, it'd be "How to be a real responsible adult male in a world of hooooors, child-like parents, teachers and politicians that failed us, while still having a chance at turning the ship around—at bare minimum for yourself/people close to you."

Have you ever said [or heard] the lament: "I wish life came with an instruction manual!"? Well, here it is. Aaron Clarey delivers an excellent guidebook detailing how to navigate the minefield we call life. At least from the male perspective. Which is the point.
Women get way too much [mis]information, while men get nothing. And who's fault is this? Men's. We've never taken women's issues seriously, thus ignoring the threat of feminism. And since we're naturally competitive we NEVER share helpful information with other men, nor do we band together and strategize. So after 50 years of leftist and feminist policies running the show, we find ourselves in dire straits, both nationally and privately. But enough of MY laments. Let's talk about this book.
While no ONE book can ever tell you everything you need to know about Life, the Universe and Everything, Bachelor Pad Economics manages to be a great primer and guide to at least get you thinking and walking down the right path[s]. Should you build a library of such books, THEN you might have Everything You Need To Know.
Having read this book I KNOW what Aaron says is at least 96% accurate. [I can't speak to all the financial stuff, since I haven't done much of these things and thus my knowledge is sketchy at best. But it does SOUND good.]
The information [for me] breaks down like this: 40% of this stuff I have already done, to my benefit. 40% I knew I SHOULD have done, but didn't and now wish that I had. 20% of this stuff I never knew and wish that I had. That's 100% of GOOD information in one resource.
This is not hyperbole. I constantly nodded my head, pumped my fist in the air and shouted, "YES! Exactly right!" while reading this book. Had I had this book when young, or at least some MAN in my life telling me these things, I could have avoided MANY mistakes.
But alas, it's too late for me. And if you're a middle aged man, or older, this book comes too late for you as well.
HOWEVER, if you're under the age of 30, AND you haven't already destroyed your life beyond repair, then this book is right on time and you'd better freaking READ IT! It WILL save you a TON of heartache, wasted time and finances. I've two young sons in this category and I've purchased two copies of this book for them. I've taught and guided them well, but obviously I don't know everything and I can't always be there to stop them from doing something foolish.
Whereas a good book just might do the trick. I advise all fathers to do likewise for your boys.
Oh, and buy them even MORE books along this line. Build a freaking library. That's what I'm doing. I owe them that.

I am a currently in my late 20s and discovered the red pill about a year ago after a bad breakup (typical right?). As I've stated in other reviews, I'm building a red pill library and have read every single book Roosh V has published, The Game, The Predatory Female, The Way of Men, The Manipulated Man, Men on Strike, The Rational Male, and Now Bachelor Pad Economics. I suggest you add all the books I've named to your library as they are all 4 or 5 star in what they aim to achieve. I will say that I previously stated that "The Rational Male" would be the 1 book I would purchase a friend If I could only pick 1 out of my red pill library....But then I read this book! I found out about Captain Capitalism aka Aaron Clarey and quickly watched all his Youtube videos over the span of a week and shared them with friends I knew would appreciate it. We all came to the same conclusion: Aaron Clarey is THE MOST UNPLUGGED MAN ON THIS EARTH! He's so unplugged that sometimes he's annoying because he's telling you truths you are not ready to accept. Bachelor Pad Economics is the most comprehensive book of any Red Pill book I've ever read (Though the other books are not necessarily attempting to be Red Pill Bibles). This literally is THE RED PILL BIBLE. Buy this book first if you are trying to unplug. Buy this first, then buy The Rational Male, Then buy Bang and Day bang from Roosh V then the others previously named and you will be a very smart and well rounded individual. My only complaint is not about this book but that I wish Aaron would advertise this book on Return of Kings or somewhere because if this book could touch 100,000 men or become a New York Bestseller (by some odd twist of fate) we as men could take this world back. Thank you Aaron Clarey for caring so much about other men that you took your time to comprise a 500 plus page book that will help men like myself reach our full potential. I'm forever indebt to you and best believe when I reach my level of success you as well as the other authors will receive a nice check in the male because the $9.99 price doesn't justify the invaluable knowledge you have given me.

I thought the advice was mostly sound (I'm only 20 so I'm not much of a judge). I thought some of the dichotomies set up were a little polarizing and in reality aren't so black and white. The writing was pretty mediocre. Definitely worth a read for young guys, but a lot of the info is surface level information available for free in the "manosphere".

A great book. Every man should own a copy. It cuts through the b.s. that is life, especially for the modern male in western society. There are certain people or 'types' that might take issue with it and its content due to being part of the very paradigms the book is a detractor of. This does not take away from the book...but rather proves its points.

I thought the book was ok. The author and I spoke about some of the chapters being repetitive or just a rehash of his other books, and he stated that read the chapters that are pertinent to you. With that in mind they were mainly general points from his other books. Contrast to the author, i would not recommend as Peter Schiff as a reliable economist, i would say that Milton Friedman and others are better selections. Overall the book is quite interesting. For those who have read "worthless" just skip the education part.

Every young man needs to read this book. All the advice one needs to know when moving out of the parent’s house: college, dating, budgeting, spending, financial planning, and being a success in Obama’s Socialist America.
The reader will experience shock and dismay at what has become of our economy and the ‘modern woman.’ This isn’t your Dad’s, or Grandfather’s America, sonny. Those days of finding a quality woman, raising a family, having a successful career with just one or two employers is just about impossible. Pursuing those endeavors will most often result in failure and financial ruin.
This is 512 pages of advice. Most are lessons the author has learned the hard way. Young men: read this so you can navigate the terrain of the new, transformed, America. Read it to learn from someone else’s mistakes!

Had little expectations going into the book since I feel well read and informed for my age compared to my peers but this book was pretty great. In fact, I couldn't put it down because of how he wastes no time getting to the meat while keeping you interested. I went through an existential crisis at an early age (14) so I got involved in many "adult" topics from a young age, which pushed me to strive for a deeper meaning and question every aspect of my life and goals. He really conveys this well so you can avoid going through an existential crisis yourself or atleast get through it without falling deeper into the rabbithole with no clear path. It's a good book on taking a philosophical and economic approach to your life, to not waste time on things that will not benefit you.

This guy has clearly thought a lot of things through, and he is not afraid of having "crazy" opinions. There are a few boring economics chapters, but most of the book is spent explaining things like why blindly saving for retirement might end up being a bad idea and why going into debt for a masters degree is probably stupid. He gets a lot right, probably over 80%. In the end, though, he is just one guy - and some of his misses are pretty funny. He is adamant that all young men buy a motorcycle because they are chick-magnets. Then he spends a roughly equal amount of time explaining that most of the women he attracts are crazy. Uh yeah, Aaron...those are the chicks that dig guys with motorcycles...
There are a few other disconnects in the worldview he presents, but for the most part the book is really clever. Even the points where he gets it wrong are enjoyable and good for a chuckle.

Aaron Clarey's book Bachelor Pad Economics is written like he's talking directly to you. Very conversional. I listened to half of it in my car on audiobook and it was wonderful. It doesn't have to be read like a novel. The chapters are organized such that if you have a question in life you can easily find the answer. Whether it is taxes, girls, or business Bachelor Pad Economics can be referenced for any questions a young man might encounter. You can also skip around and read whatever sections you are most interested in. Organized very well !!!! Bachelor Pad Economics is a MUST for any young man !

As the title states it, it's the go to guide for any young man (or truly independent woman) to survive in this world. I wished I had gotten this book when I graduated high school so that I would of been more conscious of life decisions from cradle to grave. Luckily, I'm able to salvage my life and pursue an engineering degree. Any who, Clarey doesn't sugar coat it and gets to the point as it provides a detail explanation on the various decision a man will have to make in his life.

At an Ivy league college I took two semesters of economics - "micro" and "macro", all of which turned out to be crap. Wish I saved some money on those courses, as well as some sanity, and read this book instead.

I first discovered Aaron Clarey when the store recommend his book Enjoy the Decline based on my purchase of Jack Donovan's The Way of Men (also an excellent book). Despite the typos, I was impressed with the content of Enjoy the Decline, and started following Clarey's blog. When I noticed he had also written a book billed as "the young person's indispensable guide to choosing the right major," I downloaded the free Kindle sample. Within 10 minutes, I had purchased the book for my sister, a high school senior. She found it helpful enough that she loaned it out to a number of her classmates after finishing it.
So when Aaron announced that Bachelor Pad Economics was available for Kindle, I immediately bought it.
The first thing I noticed was that the quality of the copy-editing was much better than Enjoy the Decline. However, the down-to-earth style and vernacular were not sacrificed--the book still reads like a friend speaking to you, it just has far less misspellings and missing words. This improvement in editing, coupled with more professional-looking cover, make the book feel more like a book and less like blog selections with a cover slapped on.
As a mid 20's male who already practices minimalism, read Enjoy the Decline, and fairly regularly reads Clarey's blog, some of the material was familiar to me. I expected as much. However, even I found plenty of new and valuable information. I had never even thought about most of what is covered in Chapter 13: Legal prior to reading this book. The passage about owning a home in many urban areas having become a liability rather than an asset due to exponential and unconstrained increases in property taxes was another thing that particularly stuck out to me
I would definitely recommend this book to any man who is looking to improve his financial situation, or plan his financial future. Clarey doesn't lie to you, and when the future isn't pretty he doesn't try to paint it rosy. This book will help you avoid dangers that no one else is talking about. (For example, possible 401k confiscation.) While the book was worth the money for me now, it will be most valuable to those aged 12-15, who have not yet learned any of its lessons in the school of hard knocks. I have brothers in that age range I plan to gift with Bachelor Pad Economics in the very near future. If you care about a kid in the same age range, I suggest you do the same.

Fantastic book!! I wish I had this in High school. This covers A lot of hard truths and provides a lot of great advice that people frankly won't say out loud now a days because they are afraid of offending someone more then they worry about whether what is being said is actually true. Its really great read I am buying a couple extra copies to give to my cousins that just about done with high school.

Very logical & helpful. Noticed another, less visited website bashing the book. Seems like they got rid of all the positive reviews & kept the bad ones. obviously, bunch of feminized men or feminist pretending to be men. Book is very helpful. I can see why women would not like it. Book is INTENDED for MALES. So ladies don't hate. If you don't like it, don't read it. Guys, enjoy your success.

I only wish I had read this book when I was young. It would have quite literally saved me half a million dollars. How? Well you see, all 50 states are now called "no-fault". What does that mean? Well, it means your wife can cheat on you, then demand half your assets in divorce and half your FUTURE income in alimony. I'm out half a million to an immoral woman who lives off the hard work of her ex husband so she doesn't have to get a job.
Anyway, get the book. Stay single. Learn to spot gold diggers (hint: that's pretty much ALL of them).

Most people prefer pretty lies to ugly truths.
Sometimes the plain unvarnished truth is not pretty or pleasant or welcome or comfortable or in sinc with your political agenda. Sometimes the truth is presented in a manner that some find objectionable, Doesn't make it less true.
In other worlds you play the hand you are dealt. Men find themselves in the society that they are in. This book will show you how to make the best of it, Probably, most women who were raised by single "empowered" mothers who drank the cool-aid will hate this book.
With this book Clarey has distilled down to the essence what it takes to be a empowered, fulfilled man in 21st century America,

Bachelor Pad Economics is a collection of extracts from John Keynes' private journal, penned when he briefly room-mated with Eugen Bawerk, a mature-aged Austrian exchange student. The two did not hit it off initially, both disagreeing adamantly about the treatment of women. Keynes was a radical, bedding and abandoning young girls with an unnatural aptitude. Contrasted with this was Bawerk, a traditional gentlemen who preferred to keep up appearances while servicing a soft harem.
These tensions are quickly resolved in the third chapter when Bawerk returns home with one of his regulars only to find his bed occupied by Charlotte, Keynes latest lay. Bawerk is furious and heads to the Cow and Bull Bar to confront his room-mate about this unacceptable behaviour. Keynes is unrepentant and the two come to exchange bottles. The fight is described in intricate detail and is finally broken up two blocks down by Charlotte, who accidentally comes between the two quarrelers. The two lay on the ground, panting and soaked in blood. Finally, Bawerk confesses that he was wrong to judge Keynes for his treatment of females and that he was in fact jealous of Keynes' ability to seduce them in just one night. Keynes in return admits that he admired Bawerk's loyalty and devotion to his small harem. By working together to hide the body, Keynes and Bawerk overcome their differences. And as they cleaned themselves off, their escapades as wingmen flying together through the sexual market place begins.
Ultimately we all know how the story ends, and while there may not be anything new her for fans of obscure economic theories, it is still interesting to read how Keynes and Bawerk took these life experiences and developed the Keynesian and Austrian School's of economic thought. I can wholeheartedly recommend this to anyone who is interested to see how economics was adapted from being solely used to navigate the sexual market place, to being used to understand almost of the big questions.

Seriously? I have no idea how this book has five stars. Any potentially useful information it might contain is marred by the outdated, misogynistic sections on "Wife Training" and other ridiculous statements straight out of an MRA handbook.
Here are some of the brilliant, enlightening lines you'll see in this book:
"Unfortunately, most women do not place as much value on sex as men do, and thusly let themselves go after marriage. Furthermore, with all the female-centric brainwashing they've received over the decades, they actually believe that you should only like them for their personality and 'inner beauty."
"No matter what they say, no matter what Oprah tells you, no matter what legions of single moms and psychologists tell you, women don't want to lead or be leaders, women want, nay crave, to be led."
"Women are absolutely horrible at managing their personal finances."
"[HR] is nothing more than an affirmative action program designed to get more women employed in the corporate world without putting them in genuine positions of power. They can't do accounting. They can't do math. They can't do computer programming, but they can ask you some mean questions about where you see yourself in three years..."
Thanks, Aaron Clarey, for setting us back a hundred years, and thanks to those of you who read this book for keeping us there.

Before purchasing, consider googling "aaron clarey watch" and browsing the blog that records some of his more... interesting blog posts.
Mr. Clarey has been found racist by a judge and sexist by people who can read. Here are some delightful quotes from the book!
"Women like tall, strong, aloof, confident a******s who ignore them and treat them like s***."
"In short (and history will prove this true), feminism's and the state's intrusion in to family life has resulted in the decay and inevitable destruction of society."
"Where women are weak, men are strong. Where men suck at doing things, women excel. And where men like to play with boobies, women like having their boobies played with."
"Matter of fact, I would contend the entire economics profession is more or less obsolete because anybody can through self-study become just as good, if not, a better economist than those who were brainwashed at school."
"Motorcycles are the salvation of all young men. Like beer and video games, they are a gift from God and he wants you to ride them."
"And most importantly, should we find ourselves in a disagreement with a cute liberal girl we'd like to sleep with, we have armed and informed ourselves to the point we can now use the betting technique discussed in Chapter 12."
Yes indeed, treat women like dirt and ride motorcycles. Sound advice for any young man!
