One should see or read The Secret, or be familiar with Abraham-Hicks materials, or even the metaphysical before reading this book. Seth Speaks is the perfect book for those who believe in a multi-dimensional, energy driven world. It explains many facets of life, that are ignored or stuck in the category of hallucinations. Certainly it is a different slant on "eternal life." It gives new meaning to the dream state.

This book is very old and it takes times to read. Seems to me that there is more info than most of us really need to know. Detail info that really didn't interest me. Perhaps Jane needed this as her life was different from the majority of the public. BUT it lead me to seek out Abraham for which I am thankful.

No complaints about the book itself - great material! I'm rather picky about the condition of my books however and this one arrived with one of the corners a bit damaged. The other book from the same order arrived in perfect condition.
Chapterhouse: Dune (Dune Chronicles, Book 6) :: Children of Dune (Gollancz S.F.) - Dune Messiah :: Dune Messiah (The Dune Chronicles, Book 2) :: Children of Dune (Dune Chronicles, Book Three) :: Listening for the Voice of Vocation - Let Your Life Speak

The content was good, but the book was somewhat poorly written. The portions dictated by Seth were informative although often vague and lacking examples. But the writer added every single mundane detail of the dictation that Seth CLEARLY did not intend to include in the book.

EXAMPLES FROM BOOK:

Now that we cold relax a little, however, we had every confidence that Seth would easily resume work on Chapter Eleven of his book, even though Jane hasn't looked at it for quite a while now. Such was the case.

Jane: "Good Evening Seth.

Seth: Good evening. Now: We will resume dictation"

I don't think there's anything bad about this book. However I don't know if channeling the opinions of non-physical entities is exactly the best way to attain integrous spiritual knowledge. It seems like more of a distraction.

Also, I was told once that if one is in the presence of, or in contact with, a non-physical being that if one doesn't feel an overwhelming sense of joy then it is best not to pay any attention to that being.

Although this was written some decades ago, before my time, it was, for me, a revelation. It is said that when the student is ready, the teacher appears. I am very much looking forward to continuing my tutelage under Seth! Magnificent and inspiring. Thank you Rubert and Joseph!

"Seth Speaks" and “The Nature of Personal Reality “ was given to me many years ago when I was a depressed teenager. These life changing books helped me to realize that my habitual negative thoughts and beliefs were the very root of my depression. Its teachings reminded me of everything I knew when I was very young and joyful, but I had forgotten.
Thankfully, I pulled myself out of depression by applying the teachings of the Seth material and replacing detrimental learned childhood beliefs with optimistic beliefs. My life soon thereafter began to improve dramatically!
Since my first reading of "The Nature of Personal Reality" and "Seth Speaks", I've continued to read dozens of inspirational and self-improvement books such as “Ask and it is Given" by Jerry and Esther Hicks, and many similar books that I love. However, Jane Robert’s Seth books remain my all time favorite. I credit the Seth material for the extremely happy, healthy and satisfying life I have enjoyed the past 30+ years!

I'm not one to engage in worshipping people, and certainly not supposedly channeled entities...But there's no denying how important the Seth books are. I first became aware of his material close to a decade ago, and I've been devouring every Seth book I can get my hands on ever since. Through a few of the books, there are plenty of areas where things feel just a bit repetitive, or it seems as if he should have gone a bit further in providing scientific explanations for some ideas that he quickly glosses over...I've read a lot of new age crap, and while these books aren't perfect, but they're about as close as I've ever seen anything come! Don't even hesitate in considering it, READ THIS STUFF. You'll be thankful for it eventually.

This is a comment on Seth Speaks, not a book review. Although I am a writer I am not trained nor practiced as a book reviewer.

First, Seth has nothing to do with Christianity or religion. Essentially it is channeled material equal to any other channeled material the source of which is unknown. Mozart channeled all of this music and some scholars of Shakespeare who are also grounded in metaphysics believe that his works from the great plays to the sonnets much have been channeled. The author Taylor Caldwell stated several times that her book, "Dear and Glorious Physician" had been channeled. Reading it one could guess that it was so because of the amazing periodic description. All of Edgar Cayce's readings while in trance were channeled and with the overwhelming number of readings not only proving to be accurate but helped heal some terrible diseases in people from all walks of life including the blindness of his son Hugh Lynn.

True channeled material can often be termed as irrefutable for its special nature. Secondly, Seth Speaks is not "New Age." The term is now used in general for what was once The Occult is a faint nomenclature invented by some happy editor somewhere. There is also nothing "new" about the material in Seth Speaks except that it has been couched in modern, scientific or near scientific vernacular.

The book, which I read in 1973, presents in some detail what is none other than the I Am concept that predates Moses (in Exodus where it is also presented) and can be found in the timeless Vedas which are the heart of Hinduism and thousands of years old, so old no one has yet placed a date on them. There, we find great Mahabharata, the Ramayana, the Sutras, and the Puranas.

The fact that the I Am is central to Seth Speaks is thereby posited as truth. If one wishes to call it religion, one can do so. Seth, the speaker, channeled by Jane Roberts chose rather to use scientific idiom as opposed to religious, Bible-speak or for example, the English used in A Course in Miracles (also the I Am) that is similar to The King James version of the Bible.

All that said this is a good read for anyone interested in existence. It is not so much for the uncanny revelations about existence as a life and behavioral altering work about an old concept that is also truth, a truth that was in need of a brushing off to modern technical English. The central message, "You create your own reality" is of course also not new since it is implicit in the I Am. However, those believing that this is a simple truth are wrong. It is complex and only through years of study beyond the presentation given by Seth can it be fully understood and perhaps put to use on the conscious level.

Finally, this book (and much of the metaphysical material in print today) is data that some will simply not grasp. Because these individuals are at a certain level of consciousness they can only react with frustration and anger. This is underestandable, and unfortunate, for as many who have commented on this site...the book is life changing. I will add that it is also life affirming.

I just cannot read it. There is something about the way it is written that is off-putting.
I love COURSE IN MIRACLES and Osho's big book. Although I cannot read much at a time it feels like I'm getting a down load of truth. But Seth is not speaking to me.

I originally watch the Jane Roberts session on you-tube and was skeptical, until I bought this book. There is so much profound, deep thought provoking material, that it really needs to be read several time. Once is not enough.

Considering the material was written in the early to late sixties, so much of it is relevant which is why it is repeated so many times by today's new-age "guru's". The Seth entity comes across as extremely patient and eager to reach an accepting expectant audience. So many themes such as Law of Attraction, Parallel Universes (explained by Heisenberg's quantum theory) and others are explored and explained, as well as the background of how Seth came about.

Seth was an entity channelled by Jane Roberts and the written down by her husband Robert. Many have said it should be required reading for anyone on a spiritual journey who wants to understand what happens when we die, or when others die. This material is meant to broaden your spiritual horizon. Even if you think it's hokey (the whole channeling thing), then I challenge you to read the entire book, and then make a comment on this post. I guarantee you will learn something new, and that you will be open to learning more. Take the challenge, what is there to lose? Nothing, but there is plenty to gain. This material is meant to get to all that are interested in it.

I would recommend this to anyone who understands that absorbing these contexts takes time, patience and understanding.

About one year ago my sister recived a book from her friend being the first print of this fantastic book. After reading this book for 2 months I started reading Jane Roberts "How to develop your ESP power", at the time I didn't have a clue of what this power was, but after performing the exerasizes for 2 weeks I had STRONG precognition and fortold all the big events that were going to happen in the month and they all happened. I didn't have no specific belief of god but once I started reading this book all the revalations I recived were starteling. Yes you could be a Non-believer a Skeptic but once you see this book and have a read of it the pieces of this earthly puzzle come clear. It elaborates "The Death Experience" and "Choises After Death". Talks about the 3 civilizations that were once here before our newly evolved civilization. The whole lot. If you are interested in Metaphysics or just got to this web page somehow I recommend you purchase this book. You will have no regrets whatsoever and reality will come clear to you.

This is a book for spiritual seekers! I was introduced to this book nearly thirty years ago by a dear friend who recognized I was seeking enlightenment. This was the beginning of a spiritual journey for me that had become thwarted after I had become an agnostic.

Even though I have since returned to my Christian roots, I embrace the idea that all spiritual traditions that enhance the soul are equally valid. For this reason, I would recommend this book to anyone regardless of their religious beliefs. It is a book about embracing your spirit. It is a book about finding your way to spiritual truth.

I have read most of the Seth books, but this was probably the best one in my estimation. Don't get me wrong. They are all good. If you like this book, you will want to read the others.

You will need to let go of your preconceived notions and become willing to open your mind. Jane Roberts channels Seth, in the same manner that Esther Hicks channels Abraham. Seth, too, has a delightful personality. He speaks in a language that is easy to understand. He offers practical advice that will help the readers to get in touch with their spirits.

I credit Seth with helping me to begin to have spiritual experiences within my own life. They have provided a further bedrock for my faith that there is indeed a greater reality beyond this life that I have perceived.

As the author of a series of spiritually-themed novels, [...], I am always on the outlook for books that enrich my spiritual life. If you are like me, this will be an excellent choice for you. It will open the door for you to the nature of reality.

The first Seth book I read, unfortunately, I can't even recall the name of now. I was so annoyed by the constant interference by Jane Roberts' husband in his duties as transcriber of the information--that I found it unreadable. In that book, literally HALF of each chapter was inconsequential, unimportant details from Robert Butts about when Jane was smoking, how she delivered the information, when the cat jumped up on her lap, etc. I felt and still feel that Butts needed reassurance of his importance in this process, since Jane was the one with the channeling and psychic abilities. And, because of his interference, he makes the books almost unreadable. It got worse with time.

I had dismissed Seth books by the time I read Seth Speaks, but skipped over every comment by her husband. It keeps the intensity of the narrative much better and I really don't understand why the editors, in all these years, haven't edited out the comments of Robert Butts. Only once have I found the information relevant at all and that was because of a peculiar visual experience that Butts had that I had had before. To most it would not be important.

After having said all this, I feel this Seth book is the most important, seminal book in understanding the workings of the multiverse that has ever been published.

I am generally skeptical of channeled works because it is so easy for the person channeling to insert their own information.

So I continued to look in this book for "Seth" to include examples that came from the life of Jane Roberts instead of different information that "he" had encountered. As far as I could tell, the examples were not drawn from the life of Jane Roberts--except for the chapter that talked about how humans should sleep half in the nighttime and half in the day. The tone was totally different, the information was simple and repeated over and over--very unlike the tone and delivery in the rest of the book. I felt this issue was a Jane Roberts issue, not a Seth one.

The delivery of rest of the book is so packed, so dense in concept that you cannot help but feel the urgency and complexity of the information Seth is communicating.

For example: "It seems as if an atom "exists" steadily for a certain amount of time. Instead, it phases in and out, on to speak. It fluctuates in a highly predictable pattern and rhythm. It can be perceived within your system only at certain points in this fluctuatioin, so it seems to scientists that the atom is steadily present. They are not aware of any gaps of absence as far as the atom is concerned.

In those periods of nonphysical projectioin, the off periods of fluctuation, the atoms "appear" in another system of reality. In that system they are perceived in what are "on" points of fluctuation, and in that system also then the atoms (seem to) appear steadily. There are many such points of fluctuation, but your system of course is not aware of them, not of the ulitmate actions, universes and systems that exist within them."

The larger point Seth makes is that we fluctuate in the same way atoms do--between this life, our "past lives", our probable lives. There is no time and no space. What makes them seem continuous is our own linking of perception in that particular dimension. And, simultaneously, we are experiencing in other dimensions, and just as sure that our experiences in them are continuous. In fact, we are hugely more capable of multi-tasking than we ever thought. He says, imagine that you are able to have consciousness of one moment all around the entire world ---all at the same time. This is what we are--a sphere of many kinds of consciousness all functioning simultaneously, learning simultaneously, expanding simultaneously. And so, of course, there is no past, there is no future and there will never be an end to expansion. Conciousness seeks to experience and that is what we are doing. And in that context, there is no "wrong" experience or "right" experience. There is no good and evil, there is only consciousness experiencing, feeling.
...
Seth explains about "cross-over": "On occasion even in waking life a personality may spontaneously shift gears, so to speak, and suddenly find itself for a second or perhaps a few moments within another such realm. Disorientation usually occurs. There are those who do this quite deliberately with training, but often they do not realize they are interpreting the experiences they have with the values of their 'home' consciousness.

All of this is not as esoteric as it might seem. Almost every individual has had bizarre experiences with consciousness, and know intuitively that their greater experience is not limited to physical reality. Most dreams are like animated post cards brought back from a journey that you have returned from and largely forgotten. Your consciousness is already oriented again to physical reality; the dream, an attempt to translate the deeper experience into recognizable forms. The images in dreams are also highly coded, and are signals for underlying events that basically are not decipherable." [in our reality].

This will not be a book I put back up for posting because I find that I can still pick up the book, open it to any random page and read it again (even though I've read it twice already) and find new understanding.

Much of what he describes I had already felt some intuitive understanding of. But there are details here that only one with experience could describe. As I said, there is an urgency in his delivery as if he were in a hurry to explain ALL of this complexity to personalities pre-disposed to believe only their five senses. There is so much ground to cover.

I bought another two of Jane Roberts' books and I may someday try another , but unfortunately I suspect that her own illness while she dictated these began to dominate her interests. Who wouldn't want to know how to treat their own illness if you had this kind of contact? Unfortunately, I feel Jane Roberts' own interests blocked what Seth would have said.

I trust none of the books Robert Butts published posthumously.

This is the book I keep at the side of the bed when I wake in the middle of the night. And I haven't yet exhausted the information in it. It is a must-have for anyone who wants to know what this is all about.

The title of this book should be renamed to "The Bible of Metaphysics". It is, without a doubt, that good. Out of all the channeled books I've read, this one (and all by Seth) far exceed them all...and it was written back in the 70's! But don't let that date fool you, it is just as relevant and useful now as it was back then.....if you read the book, you'll know that back then is happening right at this moment anyway. Seth is so right on with every topic he covers, while you're reading it, there will be no doubt that Seth is the "real deal". I understand when some people say they don't like channeled books, some end up preaching wierd mantras that don't mean much of anything. But Seth, and this material, is so profound that you couldn't walk away without a sense of feeling changed from the inside out.
Seth delivers his material with such rich detail and practically provides a manual on the nature of reality, physical death and reincarnation. It is quite interesting to hear his perspective on the idea of time and that we are experiencing everything at the same time. It takes out the misconception that we are living a linear timeline with "past lives", but rather living all of our lives at once. It is very refreshing to hear what happens after our physical death from Seth who claims to "have died more physical deaths then I care to recall" and says "but if I would have known what I know now, I would have seen every death as an adventure.". It is high honor to read Seth's writtings and I hope that I will met him one day.

BACK IN THE EIGHTIES I READ AS MANY OF THESE BOOKS AS I COULD FIND. I EVEN GOT INTO LUCID DREAMING. I LEARNED A LOT. I EXPERIENCED A LOT. AND I GOT TO THE POINT I COULD CONTROL A FEW THINGS AND EVENTS. WHICH LEADS TO A WARNING: YOU ARE PRETTY MUCH AN AMATEUR WHEN IT COMES TO REALITY CREATION. JUST LOOK AT YOURSELF FOR PROOF! ALL OF IT IS YOUR WORK...
THE TRUTH IS YOU DO CREATE REALITY OR SHOULD I SAY REALITIES. YOU ARE BUSY WORKING IN AREAS YOU ARE UNAWARE OF. PEOPLE, BEINGS AND PLACES DEPEND ON LITTLE YOU!

SO IF YOU WANT TO GET STARTED GET A FEW JANE ROBERTS BOOKS AND READ READ READ.

ONE NIGHT YOU WILL TELL YOURSELF TO "LOOK AT YOUR HANDS" WHILE DREAMING AND BE OFF ON A LIFE CHANGING ADVENTURE.

OH AND "THEY" WILL NOT LET YOU MAKE A MISTAKE. IF YOU GET OUT OF YOUR DEPTH YOU WILL BE SHOOED AWAY!

A concept that is unbelievable in it's ability to have you refocus your life. During the '70's when Jane Roberts was welcomed on TV shows, I really paid little attention. I was too skeptical of people that "had visions" or who went into a so called "trance state". Then suddenly, as though there was an opening in perception, I fell on "Seth". My eyes opened to a lot of the mysteries of the world that I had chosen to ignore, the root of the word ignorance is apt here. I proceeded to read all the books on Seth, that I could read. I fell in love with the concepts and hungered for more. I became interested in the unknown that Jane Roberts and Seth had introduced me to, and saw the parellels with todays knowledge we are gaining in physics. " Seth", has been treated almost like a Bible in my home, because I choose to re read it along with other boooks, and Jane Roberts books. The learning from "Seth", is never complete there is always a new discovery. Eventually, I would read it without reading again the comments by Robert Butts, just reading the narrative of the channeling session. I think others who love the concepts also re read the books and skip the comments on the 2nd or 3rd readings.
Jane Roberts led me into unknown worlds and a new way of thinking, which is obvious in my own book, reflecting on love, living and eternal love. I wove the stories around a real miracle.

It's difficult to describe the Seth books to those who haven't read them. The vast amount of knowledge and wisdom contained within them is something that each individual has to experience for themselves. I can personally attest to the deep, gradual changes that these books have caused in my life. These are books that you will read once, twice, or even three times; rather, this is a series that you will come back to again and again, each time receiving new revelations and new wisdom.

This is the first in the Seth series and provides and solid foundation on which the rest of the books will be built. It, and the other books in the series, are by no means an easy read. They are not meant to be skimmed through, one should read them thoroughly and with a mind open to learning and growth. Once you finish this book, you can read the others, and once you finish them you can reread them all again and see things you missed the first time around! The Seth experience, honestly, never ends.

I recommend this series for all those interested in spiritual growth and development outside of the confines of mainstream religion.

Seth Speaks contains a beautiful and empowering message. Although I'm sure many people will be turned off by the idea that these ideas were supposedly "channeled" through Jane Roberts. If Jane Roberts were able to dictate the material in this fashion (a continuous word for word dictation), then it is a testament to the power of the human mind. At the very least it proves that there is an unfathomable intelligence dormant in all of us.
If you read this with an open mind however, it's obvious that there is a power greater than Jane at work. Some of the material discussed includes what happens when you die, the meaning of dreams, the potentials of the soul, God, and how we constantly create our reality by means of our thoughts. Seth Speaks reads like a how-to book for the universe. At times the language is a bit thick, but so are the concepts Seth is explaining. A must read for anyone who is not satisfied with the explanations given by society and religion on the purpose of our existence. As Seth puts it:
" I would like therefore to introduce you to yourself. You will not find yourself by running from teacher to teacher, from book to book. You will not meet yourself through following any particular specialized method of meditation. Only by looking quietly within the Self."

I can certainly recommend this book.
Whilst I am fond of Seth's views, I couldn't say that his is the only influence on I cherish, but certainly the one blessed with the broadest outlook and a long lasting effect of discovery. I can only speak for myself, Seth's world view was as close to what I could identify as my own at the time I began reading this book in the 80's.
In order to truly benefit from anything though, one has to learn to really see the world with different eyes, rather than through our prevailing precepts of what is right or wrong, acceptable or not. To view the world with different eyes one has to be willing to shed beliefs (what is acceptable or not) and just take whatever life has to offer as an also valid and possible belief - a reality one can indulge or not. Simply by dealing with such reality concepts we make things real, or not. That is we manifest them in our lives as themes, point in time and interests - again, we either take up or not. True is only the experience we dare to have, and that includes also the expereince of not having (what could be - the probable).
The challenge here is to recognise one's beliefs as personal opinion, even if collectively we declare them eternal truths, such as our god concepts and appending religions. Every truth is a matter of personal truth. But that makes it a universal aspect of total truth. For the simple fact that partiality is illusory in unity. That makes everything valid, and real.
What we dismiss is only that which does not fit our own values.
What counts is that we are that creative reality, experiencing our lives and universe as if we were separate entities, because that is what unity plays out through us, and that is what we represent. And we are only one kind of such playful beliefs happening right now.
To see things differently means to break down one's personal boundaries of belief. Seth invites you to read between the lines (what is not written is also true - just not so prominent), draw ultimate conclusions.
That means that the unity of all being excludes any one individual god, and even individual humans. What we see and live out are some distilled moments of reality, aspects of a unity reflecting itself through personal and impersonal creativity in a three dimensional universe. And that 3d world is couched in other realities - equally fascinating. We already participate in those other worlds, but shut it out of our earthly focus.
The moment you know distinctly that you are an aspect of all that is, that you are in MATTER and FACT all that is reflected in itself at this moment, you need no almighty god or religion. All you need is commitment to yourself, NOW, because that is only moment which counts and makes reality true for you and everything else.

This was the first Seth book I ever read. It radically changed my perception of the reality I see with my outside eyes because it helped me begin to understand and recognize the reality I had been seeing all along with my inside eyes. I now understand why so many people credit the Seth information as their first wake up call to remembering. If you haven't read this book since the late 70's...try it again. It's a whole new view NOW. If you have never read Seth, this is the first book to read. Then I suggest reading The Nature of Personal Reality afterwards because Seth gives a more personal application to the vastness of the world he introduces us to in Seth Speaks. All the Seth books are wonderful and each of them gives a slightly different take on the truth that we are indeed the real "Creators" of our own reality individually and thus en masse. Jane Roberts was brave to share her experiences with her then very unknown reality with us and in my opinion, paved the way for those of us who are interested in a less religious and more personal take on the great beyond to get the kind of information we need.

I found out about this book from a friend only three weeks ago. As I write this, I am almost finished reading it. This book is full of a lot of truth (in my opinion). Especially the parts which describe the true nature of who we really are, what life is like beyond the physical universe, etc. I was lead to this book after reading many books on Astral Projection / Out Of Body experiences. I was determined to have an out of body experience and I have now had several. I told a good friend about my experiences and he mentioned this book. I am glad that I decided to read it because it helped to to further solidify a new understanding that has been developing in me. If you've read about Out Of Body experiences or you've had them, many of the things that you've read or experienced ties in with the concepts in this book. This makes me think that Seth really is who he says he is. He knows how the non-physical universe works.

I feel sad about the one star reviews given for this book. I think they are mainly written by people who already have set beliefs about things and are not open-minded enough to accept anything different. They are either uncomfortable with the idea where this book came from or they pick at something in particular that Seth said. One thing to keep in mind is that Seth is not "God". He is a "personality essence". As such, you do not need to accept everything he says as fact. You should be able to determine on your own what is true and what isn't true according to your own understanding. You don't need to be afraid of what he is trying to teach. I really believe this book was written with good intentions and is well worth reading.

Seth Speaks is probably one of the first books that ever made sense to me. Often, his passages have to be read several times over however as they stretch the imagination and speak to you intuitively. A must read for anyone on the path of self realization as it describes the soul and it's workings, how the underpinings of consciousness creates reality, belief systems, re-incarnation, time as an illusion and our multi-dimensional heritage (and much more). An absolute classic that I've returned to again and again. It has been indeed, like a bible, which without I no doubt would have gone nuts! And even though a spiritual teacher once stated "Seth is nearly enlightened", he's certainly done humanity a great service by what he has shared. I didn't find Mr. Butts narrative boring or cumbersome at all, since it was not only interesting to read about his and Jane's insights about this phenomenon, but you get a feeling for their apartment in Elmira, N.Y, and it's a cozy arrangement. I also recommend his other volumes and Jane's first, The Seth Material. It is very enlightening to hear Seth II speak as well, as in his statement about how our consciousness creates "patterns", humanity are like children playing with blocks, and that the pain of death is only real because of our limited perceptions about life to begin with. If you've ever wondered why you have felt seperated from God, please read Seth.......a change of perspective will do anyone good.

Let me begin by saying that the concepts in this book were brand new to me. And I've studied Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism, Shamanism, Philosophy, Psychology, etc. and in depth. This book taught me about an undeniable truth in our day-to-day lives. What you put in is what you get out, what you believe is what you will experience, seek and you shall find, reap and you shall sow, etc. etc. etc. I am just as skeptical a person as everybody else, but there is nothing that makes me believe that this information is coming from a physical entity on earth or a part of Jane Robert's pysche. This is the real deal folks. If you're frustrated with your religion in that it leaves too much left out, or too many questions left unanswered, this is the book for you. At first upon reading this book, it was a total unexpected shock to my world, these concepts. After a few months passed, Seth finally began to make perfect, simple sense, and my Life has steadily improved since then. This is the kind of book that will give you the answers that your soul yearns to relearn and it betters your life a whole lot because of it. Trust me. Especially for those who are confused in their religions and need answers, I recommend:

1. Seth Speaks by Jane Roberts

2. The Teachings of Don Juan by Carlos Casteneda

3. The Importance of Living by Lin Yutang

4. Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramahansa Yogananda

Like someone else may have mentioned, get ready for a long, long journey that may never end! Good Luck!!!

Seth Speaks is a treasure trove of profound spiritual wisdom and insight. Seth offers intriguing information on the history of the human race, reincarnational and probable selfes, and on the nature of dreams, consciousness and reality itself. Seth's worldview agrees with the many - worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics, as well as with advanced theories of parapsychology. Seth offers a fascinating preview of what a science of consciousness - a synthesis of quantum physics and parapsychology - might look like, centuries from now.
Seths Speaks is a fascinating read, and any open-minded, serious student of quantum physics, psychology, philosophy or parapsychology should find it immensely stimmulating.

Since I first read this book in 1972, when it was first published, and was fortunate enough to have spoken to Jane Roberts a few times while she was still in comparatively good health, I ventured on to the store.com just to see how this wonderful book had weathered the decades. What I found most astonishing is that even today, nearly 100 years after the publication of Albert Einstein's papers on relativity, and the birth of quantum physics, that even people who give the book five stars don't seem to quite get the message of this book- that of the miraculous phenomenon of individuated consciousness in a sea of energy. That the book is spectacular is not the question. It is! Anyone can see this by the number of stars awarded it by the overwhelming number of people who read the book. The few who tried to bring the book down to their level are quickly revealed by the quality of their "reviews". To those who are still lost in the process of trying to figure out this book, but are fascinated by it and indeed, had their lives changed as I have, the simple line on the cover of the original is the key. Read this line carefully: [A complete book by the "Personality" who has dictated over 6,000 pages on the universe beyond the senses]. As it happens, 99.9999999999999999999999999999% of the universe is beyond human senses. Those of us, who are too arrogant, self deluded or blind enough not to realize this, take a look at the electromagnetic spectrum. You will see that visible light is a minuscule sliver "centered" where you are. The rest of the spectrum continues into infinity. Those who wisely continue to study this book for the balance of their lives ultimately come to realize the truth to the age-old apothegm; "knowledge is power." There is no greater power than the discovery of what you are.

This book (like all Seth books from Jane Roberts) is channeled, i.e. Jane speaks in trance for a personality that calls itself Seth and which dictated a bunch of books (this being the first of the series). It is like taking all the ancient knowledge and stripping it of it's flowery wrappers (i.e. no demons, angels, aksha chronics, etc.) and putting the knowledge into a modern from (without adding new modern wrappers). Clean cut concepts, deeper than most of the stuff found out there. It's intriguing, even if you don't believe that the source is from "beyond" our 3dimensional reality. Even if it's a fake (some people believe this, I don't) it's way better than any of the "original" knowledge found out there, so why bother.

I first read Seth Speaks about five years ago, and I pretty much put it out of my mind-until something that, if Jane was a fraud or a mental case, she could not possibly have known about ahead of time. You see, Jane died in 1984, and this book was published in 1972- so how do you explain this?In Seth Speaks Jane/Seth makes one of his few specific predictions. He says that in the few years before the return of the historical Christ into the human family, that certain discoveries that neither science or religiom are able to explainwill be made. He predicted that one of these discoveries would involve the finding of skulls on the Spanish side of the Pyranees mountains that bear no known genetic relationship to human beings. Well, guess what, folks, in Julyo 1997, on the front page of the LOS ANGELES TIMES, there is a story from the AP that said, (more or less) "European sceientists, have announced that they have found skulls in caves on the SPANISH SIDE OF THE PYRANEES MOUNTAINS that bear no known genetic relationship to HOMO SAPIENS'. Needless to say, this blew my mind- for, how could Jane Roberts, had she been a fraud -have known about a major scientific discovery-that occured A FULL THIRTEEN YEARS AFTER HER DEATH? Something to think about.

This book published in the 1960s is now a classic.

Seth, supposedly her future self channeled by Jane Roberts during the 60, and 70s introduces for the first time the idea of simultaneous time, the possibilities of mentally changing both the past and designing the future, multidimensionality, and the human immortality of the soul.

The idea of the simultaneity of time, the importance of reincarnation in the learning process of man, the plastic nature of past and future events, parallel realities, and the immortality of the human soul have served as a foundation for other books on the subject that have been written afterwards.

My friend recommended I read this book. He explained the author channeled an entity which started after she had used an ouija board. This made me highly skeptical.. this sounds like the plot to a bad movie. I kept an open mind and decided to read a few chapters to see what it was about. I'm so grateful I did. It's been a good while since I've read any books that have taken my comfortable notion of what reality is and 'ripped it a new one', and this definitely did just that.

The information it contains is far beyond something I think any human mind can come up with as a hoax. It's extensive, it doesn't contradict itself and it's straightforward and assured of itself. It's a book I come back to time and time again to reimpress its concepts into my mind.

How can that be?

Seth talks about "camouflage" reality--basically, our senses are nearly completely focused on our physical surroundings. Conversely, we think consciousness and mental energy are diaphenous concepts, while dreams are figments of the imagination. To further alienate ourselves, we place a great emphasis on linear clock time, which is basically a man-made invention, and has little or no value in the greater scheme of reality.

As you read the book, and come to understand new concepts like simultaneous time and the multidimensionality of consciousness, the standard "rug" of your traditional thinking wil be pulled out from under you.

So where does that leave you? Floating in space, but somehow, with your feet firmer on the ground...your mind has expanded, and wandered into unchartered territory, but at the same time, the world appears clearer than before ...you can see further, deeper into the consequences of your own actions, and feel impelled to take control of them; you feel a greater affinity, an interconnectedness between yourself and nature, and revel in it. So guess what? You find your life has changed....

I read a number of these books in order in the 70's starting
when I was 14. I was basically educated into becoming a
metaphysician. I also became metaphysically confused.
I even ended up feeling like something dark was hovering over
me. Probably a subconscious artifact but who knows for sure.
I lost all taste for anything written similarly, in other words
anything metaphysically dense and self generating... it locked up
half of my brain. I now disagree with the main premise that,
"you create your own reality". Your mind can heal your body,
your mind can, at will, generate a storm of hallucination, but
if you're anything but purely introverted you do not "create
your own reality." You can only navigate the reality that is there, doesn't that make more sense?
I found books like Paramahansa Yoganandas'
series to be much more helpfull and I now fully endorse the
Urantia Book. The Seth books are, I think, very empowering for
an aspiring metaphysician. There is just not much power in
Metaphysics. There is much more empowerment in being in harmony
with the universe, and Jesus is the trailblazer there. There
are many references to metaphysics in the Urantia book. It is
a bridge between science and religion. In our mortal estate it
simply fails us. I believe more mind power may be required. That
is why it is a pursuit in the next life. I don't believe the
Seth books are a waste of time, but for me they were a painful
lesson which eventually lead to greater enlightenment.

If one is looking to discover a new way to perceive the world about themselves, they have found the direction in this book. The seemingly hard words chip away at the fortress an individual has built around their conceptional world. As the severity of one's thoughts begins to loosen, new perspectives can be obtained. Truly the work must be done by theindividual. Even though this can be a very strenuous task at times, the rewards are beyond comparison. When one restructures the way by which they take in information and internalize it, they build a new framework by which to respond to those things around themselves. This is the empowerment of self understanding;learning by and of oneselfcreating an unbreakable bond to one's own thinking. Learning which has been done through self awareness is undeniable.Seth Speaks extends to all a pointby which new perspectives can be achieved, if one so desires.

I began reading the Seth books in 1975 and have been reading them ever since. They have added immeasurably to my life in more ways than I could ever explain. To those who think this is hokum, that is perfectly fine because only those who are ready will find their way to them. This is the ancient knowledge of the universe and not everyone is ready for that. To those who seek deeper understanding, this is the book to start with. Then move on to "The Nature of Personal Reality." Prepare to be astounded.

As they say "when the pupil is ready the teacher will come" so this book will not be for everybody and it is complicated in places and perhaps even in conception and execution. However it is a remarkable book, whether viewed as fiction or as truly the voice of an entity from another reality (which it claims to be).
I came to this book latish in life after reading widely about reality and after studying quantum physics, precognition, reincarnation, non-locality etc. "Seth Speaks" gives a stunningly well integrated tour of many of these issues and many more. At times the quality and concision of the text is breathtaking. Often he is found to be giving answers to important, very important, questions as asides in a broader discourse. It is the penetrating wisdom and the quality of the broader analysis, integrated...coherent and dramatically original, that I found compelling.
I recommend the book most strongly. "There is a River" by Sugrue might form a good hors d'oeuvre for this meaty main course.

Anyone who has interest at all in life, death and what happens before and after this physical life will enjoy this book. Obviously organized religion isn't going to tell us the truth. (For example the fact that reincarnation was in the bible prior to 325 AD.) Seth relates to "Ruburt" (as he knows Jane Roberts) in a very "as it is" way. No sugar coating. Not an easy read, you'll end up reading a few things more than once. It makes you think, than think so more. Since we live in a linear world we are limited, Seth mentions how the past, present and future are simultaneously happening, how our past lives are still being lived, simultaneous lives happening right now on their own. Not your typical cotton candy metaphysical book. I still pick it up and read certain parts frequently.

I have been reading these books for a long time.I have never been in the same place when I finished them as when I started. All the doors and windows are flung open, so to speak, and a great GUST OF LIFE blows through. It does not seem that 30 years has gone by since I picked up the first book, as I don't pay too much attention to time. What's the hurry. There will never be an end to no time! Every single one of these books are wonderful! Every single one of us is cherished more than we can ever know. Cheers!

I guess I was on a search for *something* when I saw this book in the "New Age" section of a bookstore. I remembered, decades before, hearing about the book, but had no interest in reading it. But I opened it randomly and read a page. I can't remember what concept I read, but I do remember my heart racing with surprise and awe at the words. I bought the book.
The reading was an unreal experience. One moment I would be wading through some complex, almost scientific, explanation of how things work when suddenly a paragraph of absolute clarity and insight would stop me cold. Of course! Yes, that's EXACTLY what happens. For the first time since college I started highlighting in a book.
These jewels of insight continued until the very end. And when I finished I could only sit there and hold the book. I knew that for me everything had changed. Everything. My heart ached, it filled my chest somehow. And I walked around like a drugged man for weeks -- a "spiritual high"? It was as if I was remembering stuff I always knew, but had forgotten -- so true and powerfully did Seth's concepts ring inside me.
I've wanted to write this review for a year now, but nothing I composed adequately described the books content, so I'm left describing my incredible response to it instead. While my response is, ultimately, a completely subjective one, the subjective is, in the words of Seth, the only true reality after all. My reality is utterly changed. And this is the book that did it.

yeah, i'm just some 19 year old kid who got this book from his momma, but let me tell you the seth books changed my life and my mind and my world view. Man, this was craziness. Much of the world view persented in the seth books i had found on my own during my walks in nature. I allways thought it was probably true, but they were thoes crazy personal beliefs you never really share. Well, anyway, about 2 years ago, my mother and i began talking more after i got caught smoking pot. when i told her these views, she gave me these books she had secretly read for years behind the catholic front she had raised us with. I am now a very different person then the one who was given those books. I stopped the drugs, found meditation, channeling, and life. I went from being a 3.0 high school student to a 3.8 college student. I started exercising. I went from being very solitary, to being increadably social. I can't promise this kind of change, mine has been dramatic, and seth is only partially responsible; there have been many other books which have now shaped my world view. But seth was the spark for my transformation. I gaurantee if you can truley be open to these ideas, and it is "your truth" you will find your life revolutionized just as i (and my mother many years before) have expieranced. good luck

First, I want to note that I am not a member of the 'new age' movement. That said, I am fascinated by various understandings of reality. I 'read around' as an avocation. Seth/Roberts here (and in the many other books in which Jane Roberts allegedly 'channeled' the Spirit of Seth) demonstrates a philosophical sensibility in that one hears, here and there, echoes of puzzles (aporias) that have haunted philosophy since the beginning. In this review I simply want to mention some of the most typical, but extraordinary, assertions of Seth/Roberts (henceforth I will simply type 'Seth') with some (hopefully useful) comments. This review is intended for people outside new age or occult circles, by someone also outside them, in order to give a brief description and, even more briefly, hopefully to show that there are occasional aspects of this authors work that continue (or derive from) philosophical theories that interest them. Of all the modern occult or new age books I've read (mostly on the floor of the local Barnes & Noble superstore) I've found these books to be the most intelligent and interesting.

Several things will stand out on the first reading of these texts:

1.) The sense of self-empowerment this book intends to bring to its readers is the first thing one might notice. Consciousness makes reality, including the physical world. You are responsible for the world you inhabit. There is no victimization, you chose the scenario you are currently living through. This reminds one of a remark of Nietzsche: "Siamo contenti? Son dio ho fatto questa caricatura!" ('Are we content? I am the god who has made this caricature!') - But, according to Seth we create badly; that is, we make what we did not intend to make. - That is why we incarnate, to learn how to create responsibly. It would seem that the only rule for Seth is don't do anything that brings forth consequences you don't want to face.

2.) According to Seth there is, at the deepest level, no Time. It is an illusion that we (souls incarnating in the material world) have agreed to live by. By 'no time' Seth means that everything is happening simultaneously. Technically, one could perhaps say that every instant is endless, but one must immediately add that every instant brings forth new instances. Or, to put it another way, the absence of Time must not be construed to mean that there is not an accumulation of experience. Also of note, since there is no time one can have 'backwards' reincarnations - that is, you or I could elect, in our 'next life', to reincarnate in the Renaissance!

3.) Creativity is a key concept (if not the key concept) for Seth. At one and the same time the Whole is Itself and It is also changing. Everything happens simultaneously (there is no time) but the contents of this 'everything' is always increasing. In a formula one could say that Being = Becoming + Creativity. In fact, this Creativity seems to demand that ALL possible occurrences will somewhere occur. In other words, everything that can happen will happen; even if only in some alternate (or probable) Reality.

4.) Obviously, as with all reincarnation theories that I am aware of, Seth teaches that we are all immortal. However, one must understand precisely what immortality means for Seth. The appearance of Seth II is wonderfully illuminating in this regard. Seth II (who appears in the 'Seth Material') is a 'later' (or possible) development of Seth himself. But so alien is the Seth II consciousness to the Seth consciousness that Seth II will say that he has never physically incarnated! But of course Seth freely speaks of his previous incarnations. Thus one is perhaps forced to conclude that for Seth 'immortality' means becoming what you absolutely are not. Just think how alien 'Seth 10,002' will be to Seth and Seth II! Or, in other terms, would Alexander the Great recognize himself in my cup because it contains an atom that was once in his body?

5.) From the above (i.e., becoming, creativity) it follows that there are countless 'realities' that are ontologically Real. One has the 'reality' one makes. Obviously, one should avoid making fearfully or stupidly. The centrality of the individual consciousness (or soul) is paramount in Seth. According to Seth, the Truth is truly within because we are all 'Gods'. But since we are all experiencing gods our 'truths' continually evolve. This eerily reminds one that Nietzsche speaks of the 'truth' of perspectivism but, of course, he does so in a non-supernatural manner.

6.) Seth's view of what one hesitantly calls 'physics' is, to many readers of Seth, similar to the 'many-worlds' interpretation and indeterminacy of quantum physics. In Seth's multiverse there are other (probable) selves, alternate pasts and futures, many physical universes and (for Seth) many spiritual realities.

7.) Note also that there are many hierarchies in Seth; not only are their probable selves (instances of the soul in other reincarnational dramas) but there is also an 'oversoul' that stands above the the various probable souls inhabiting different realities and learns from their experiences and also, more or less gently, directs this experience too.

This book represents (as far as I, an outsider, can tell) the bleeding edge of 'new age' speculation. In it, the author (Seth and/or Jane Roberts) introduces a new way of looking at the problem of cosmogenesis. We are all Gods: but this is no mere pantheism; we are all creative gods! Thus even now we all create our reality. Actually, it is better to say realities. Seth teaches that there are 'alternative' pasts and 'probable' futures that actually exist even though none of us ever have or ever will inhabit them. Such is the plenitude of Being for our author(s)! But this echoes, however obliquely, an ancient insight: as Parmenides said so long ago - there isn't anything that is not. I know, one is tempted to sneer at the sheer naiveté of all this. But one hears echos of the history of philosophy throughout the books of Seth. For instance, it was the German Idealists who first stepped beyond pantheism by insisting that Substance must also be active Spirit. Seth merely adds that Spirit must always be God. And what of us? We incarnating souls (Spirits) are now necessarily 'Gods' in training, or so Seth maintains. We are learning, by incarnating in the sublunary (i.e., material) world, to Create responsibly. One does come away, however, wondering exactly what responsibility might mean to Seth. Given the fact of the 'plenitude of Being' there is, strictly speaking, no evil. The spaciousness of the All-That-Is (a term of art in the Seth lexicon that more or less means All/God/Whole) has room enough to Willingly contain anything. To be sure, each existent entity has to deal with the consequences of what it makes - but, strictly speaking, consequences, no matter how unpleasant, are not an evil. Consequences are an educational tool! Indeed, since Seth also teaches that there are probable selves (other instantations of ourselves) living entirely different lives in other realities one wonders whether evil, and its responsibility, has any meaning at all... So, if it is an ontological necessity that every possibility be realized what could the term 'evil' possibly mean? One comes away from the books of Seth (or Roberts) feeling that morality has been replaced by ontology, and the moral imperative -do unto others as you would have them do unto you- has been replaced by an ontological imperative - just do something. The plenitude of Being requires our continual active creation! - Which means that, for Seth, the only 'Evil' is the Nothing of non-Being cum non-activity. The position of Seth can thus be said to be an inverted Buddhism...

Just on a lark I typed in Jane's name to see what would come up,surprised NOT,the descriptions used by the various reviewers show that these people do understand the concept:THE PHYSICAL UNIVERSE AS IDEA CONSTRUCTION.It was like dropping in on some old friends(who I have never met) as I read their words. One of my prized possessions is a postcard I received from Rob&Jane in response to a note I had sent them in Elmira. There is an 'unofficial' organization in Austin and Eugene and Rob Butts is on the advisory board SETH NETWORK INTERNATIONAL. A good search engine will take you to their site on the net.Just as an aside I once heard a tape of a Seth session where the listener was introduced to SETH 2,a higher self of Seth's!And here is yet another nugget from that session this voice which 'sounded' nothing like the Jane as Seth format told all that in our terms(earth!) the shape of SETH 2 would be GEOMETRICAL!

I read a fortune cookie that said "the philsophy of one century is the common sense of the next." This is so applicable to the Seth information, especially with the advent of quantum mechanics and string theory in the past 50 or so years. What is so great about the Seth books is that if you put the information into practice, the validity of his philosphy will be subjectively self-evident. No one can tell you that Seth is lying because you have expereienced it as true, so it becomes irrefutable. I was born Jewish, raised on an Ashram (Siddha Yoga), and my uncle is Gerald Epstein. I've read books on Buddhism, Hinduism, Zen, String Theory, Quantum Physics, taken a bunch of pyschadelics, and, as others have, explored the thinking of innumerable philosophers and spiritual teachers. All I can say is that after reading Seth, it seems like theres nothing left for anybody to say for the rest of existence. It is without a doubt, as so many others have affirmed in these reviews, the most in-depth, comprehensive, extensive and enlightening view of reality that has ever been published or available. Everything fits; it all makes sense. Beliefs creating reality is the king of philosophies, because all other religions and philosophies are beliefs in and of themselves. Im not saying that Seth is the only way to Truth; certainly, other books have influenced my thinking, but they have been tangential to Seth's teachings, and everytime I read something I always check it against Seth's take on the issue. Even string theory, straightforward according to physicists, is so align with Seth's information that it seems almost too good to be true; but it is, of course. We are perceiving a frequency of reality...this is just a fact. If you told that to people 100 years ago, the skeptics would laugh at you. Jane Roberts, as someone with little to no knowledge of string theory or quantum mechanics (based on her profession as a poet), seems unlikely to have conjured up this information from her imagination to make people believe some kind of twisted, too-good-to-be-true lie....skeptics are skeptics for the sake of being skeptics. I know Seth is true because I have EXPEREIENCED it as true...no one can convince me otherwise at this point. People are so afraid of themselves, and its so sad, because no one wants to take responsibility for their lives or the state of this world...and thats exactly why the world is currently so mislead and in the dark. I hope one day, if the world is still around by then, when everybody knows this information, we can all unabashedly be the Gods that we are, and respect the miracle of ourselves and the holiness of this world. And, for those of you who dont need to be convinced because you have also experienced it as true, my blessings go out to you; you are the conscious creators of our world, and your energy will kindle affirmations of Godhood within the hearts of many lost souls...Spread the love baby!

When reading Seth Speaks, ignore anything writen in italics - it slows down the flow of ideas. I have read Seth Speaks about 15 times and each time there is more to consider. The Seth material, not what Jane Roberts offered, is one of the three best sources of material to the very
serious metaphysical student. Edgar Cayce was great at introducing concepts and offering a definition for most topics. Cayce's information was definitately rooted in a traditional religious
belief system but it is still the best place to start one's study. The Seth works, Seth Speaks being the cental book, builds upon concepts found within the Cayce files and introduces the idea of "You create your own reality." The final book that I believe one must read is A Course In Miracles. This is the CAP STONE. It also states
"You create your own reality" but adds that God
is NOT involved in this "illusion" since anything of God must be eternal and nothing we see, taste, touch, smell or hear is eternal. Topics like Grace, Reincarnation, Karma, Psychic Powers are all discussed in these three Major sources.

Seth Speaks is my bible. It is dictated to Jane Roberts, an author who came upon Seth through a ouija board when she realized she had the ability to become a medium. Seth is a disembodied spirit, an essence, a soul who, speaking through Jane Roberts, informs us that life is multidimensional. The basic message we receive through Seth is that those of us who believe we are only a body with one lifetime are grossly mistaken. According to Seth we are an essence, an energy that lives far beyond the the limitations of time, taking on many forms as we journey through timelessness. Seth Speaks is more than a book to read. If you want to know who you truly are, if you are willing to assimilate what it offers you will find a bounty of answers to questions you might not have even wondered about until your mind is opened to universal truth. Seth has had a countless number of bodies and so have we all. This book is an eye, a head and a heart opener for anyone to read. It has made a huge difference in my consciousness and my entire perception of what life really is.

I read Richard Bach's book Illusions years ago, and when I read The Eternal Validity of the Soul, it was as if I were reading the advanced honors course textbook that Illusions had been the primer to. If you are a searcher, and have felt that the religions of the world have the right"heart" but way too much paraphernalia attached, check this book out. It is life-affirming, and will release you from the shackles of your own fear about any number of subjects. Warning! This book is not for the lazy reader. Give it your time and attention, though, and your life will be the richer for it.

"Seth Speaks" is by now something of an oddity- a cult book for its sparse followers (now, they'll probably protest) & virtually a nonentity for newer New Agers- after all, they got diluted and digested Seth in Walsh's "Conversations with God" (with few Sethian virtues & vices galore). So, since I'm not a "reality-creator/creationist" (bwahhhah...) -what's the point in writing a review on this book ? Well....something personal ? I guess as a tribute to the most rewarding modern vision of Reality.
I've read "Seth Speaks" after having digested much more "esoteric" stuff (Evans Wentz's Tibetan Canon, theosophists, Gurdjieff, Max Heindel, Cayce, Kashmir Shaivism, Kabbalah both Hebrew and Hermetic....). In essence- Seth's is a Tantric vision of Reality as energy/consciousness Multiverse, with souls (without nitpicking, something akin to Scientology's thetan, jivatman in Shivaloka or Antarloka whizzing to Bhuloka-a Kashmir Shaivism's central narrative, Ruh of gnostic variant of Sufism or Anthropos of Hermeticism and our Western Christianity, where it played seek & hide under various guises ( Gemueth, Pneuma "married" to Psyche, Angel Christ of Valentinians,..)) creating & discreating, evolving, teaching, and- this is the royal message, at least for me: instensely living. What struck me as new in this book was primarily language and, as it were, shifting angle of exposition: at one moment Seth insists that you *are* the soul (hence, a sort of Gnosis); next page, you are instructed to contact the soul (which, by the way, passes though a bewildering variety of linguistic impersonations: inner self, Identity, whole self, Self, ....-sometimes these terms hint at other possible levels of selfhood)- hence, a sort of "contact your Higher Self" admonition in the Jungian vein. Probably the best pages (and most provoking ) are those describing systems of probable realities, mutability of selfhood in Multiverse, human incarnation, use of dreams and concept of God & perpetual creation (though, one can find the latter notion in Sufism). On balance-life affirming, "positive" and modern approach expressed through sometimes overly verbose, but nonetheless mesmerizing narrative on the Cosmos, Self and everything. If Faulkner is the preeminent example of "Dixie Gongorism", "Seth Speaks" is the most entrancing representative of "Esoteric Gongorism".
One message, almost invariably picked up as the crux of book, is that "you create your own reality". Taken literally- for anyone save Sethian fundamentalists, this is nonsense. On the other hand - this is a sound advice, when interpreted either in down-to-earth sense ("positive attitude") or in the case (extremely rare) when one is able to refocus their center of consciousness into inner self and induce a network of "synchronicities" (even then, the level of operating freedom is embedded into the greater whole where determinism and free will interplay). Egoic consciousness (or, in Seth's lingo, ego personality, conscious personality) can create and discreate, but, evidently, to a very limited degree (Freudian psychoanalysis is still valuable, at least partially, re this matter).
Be as it may, I dedicate this review as a tribute to ole Seth, the most eloquent, original, humorous, humane, muddle-headed, inspiring and exasperating "prophet" of the now extinct "Old New Age"- the only channelling that still provokes a thrill of expectation.

I am a psychotherapist. I have read over a 1000 self help and psychology books. I probably know more about the Bible than 95% of Christians. I have read books by followers of Seth: Marianne Williamnson, Luise Haye, Depack Chopra, etc. But everything I have read does not come close to explaining the meaning of life and our reality than The Seth books do. I read Seth Speaks 4 months ago and am devouring every Seth book I can put my hands on, including out-of print ones. Seth discusses God, the purposes of religion, reincarnation, how we create our physical bodies, how we find solutions to our problems in our dream state, how intuition is more helpul than science, how we choose our parents and children, how we choose when we die. Seth also explains how we choose to be victims and when we abuse others it is always with their consent (whether they believe that consciously or not)and that we choose health or sickness, how many doctors, medicines, and labeling diseases perpetuate the sickness cycle and that if medicine cures a disease we will ceate another one take its place if we do not change our core beliefs. If you want to change your life, this is a must read for all who are seekers.

To date this is the only 'Seth' book I've actually read, but I have to say that I am finding it to be an absolute gem and quite an easy read for the most part.

I must admit that even though I'm very much an avid reader and am open minded to all things metaphysical and spiritual, when i first looked into purchasing the book I was worried it was going to be a bit of a crock. Lets face it, the world's been 'had' by fake seers and mediums an uncountable number of times in its history.

But upon reading it I was pleasantly surprised by the depth and type of information discussed. The fact that 'Seth' is another entity speaking through Jane hardly even factors into the book for me. Jane Roberts could have written the material by herself without any such 'divine' interference and I still would have been mesmerised and hooked on what is discussed within the book's pages.

If you're of an open mind and a spiritual and inquisitive nature, this book is fantastic for introducing you to alternative theories regarding the nature of reality and life after death. Great for altering one's perspective both during the read and after, something everyone should aim to do on a regular basis in life just to keep life fresh and prevent the mind from becoming stagnant.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and look forward to reading more books in the Seth series.

First, thanks to all who have so eloquently expressed their experiences with the Seth material. It is re-affirming to know that so many feel as I do when I let my soul dance with the insights offered in the books. The very nature of the book rings so true to me. I was simply astounded when I first read this book back in the late 70's. The material had and has a strong sense of authenticity too it that I felt was legitimate. I felt a strong sense of soul energy at work as I let go and absorbed information that was flowing into me. It's been 15 years since I last fully read the book. I am now re-reading it and it's as powerful to me presently as it was the first time, 20 years ago. Finally, if this is not for you, it's not for you. You will know before you turn to the second page in the book.

ORIGINALLY PICKING THIS BOOK UP ONLY BECAUSE MY NAME IS SETH I BECAME ENTRANCED IN
THE DEEP NATURE OF THE SUBJECT. IN A WAY UNIQUE TO THE SETH SERIES A WOMAN NAME JANE
CLAIMS SHE IS BEING CONTACTED THROUGH A "BEING" CALLED SETH. SETH TELLS HER THE SECRETS
OF THE UNIVERSE, INCLUDING THE EVERLASTING SOUL. IT IS AN IN DEPTH LOOK AT WHO WE ARE
AND WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE. DESPITE BEING ON THE BORDER OF AN INTERSTING READ AND A OFF COLOR
READ, SETH SPEAKS TO US AND MAKES US THINK.

I first came across Seth many years ago when I was young yet it was far too advanced for my then limited knowledge of reality or where I was going. I am much older now and after a long search for truth through many volumes both good and bad I have found that this book has been a revelation. The only warning I might add is that if you aren't too long on the journey of truth then it might be a little too heavy. Although the likes of Conversations with God and other popular books might prove easier to digest on the nature of who we are and where we are going, you would be forgiven for suspecting that it was from this book that these authors originally drew their inspiration. If you are serious about the nature of your existenece then I do not see how you can be disappointed. This is a fascinating book that will answer many of your questions with clarity and detail.

One of the most influencial books I've read in my life. Not an easy read, but it really expands ones ideas of what reality might be about.
With a physics background, I found it compatible with my scientific beliefs. Tables aren't solid, reality is much more complex than most people want to understand. Open your mind

"Seth Speaks" literally was the book that changed my life. At the time of first reading this book I was coming from a "scientific" view of life--so I was originally a skeptic. And it took a long time to get through this, my first Seth book, as I didn't have the background that I have now. However once I finished this book--I dove into "The Nature of Personal Reality" which I also highly and unequivocably recommend. From there I purchased every Seth book---and every other book written by Jane Roberts. I cannot recommend this book highly enough!!!

This was the first of twenty + Seth books. Intended to offer a taste of future Seth material, this manuscript certainly whet my appetite to know more. While the Seth information was channeled forty years ago, I consider Seth to be the father of the new age and self-help movement. Far from some pat or compassionless oversimplification of how we create reality, Seth leads the reader, with clarity and humor, into the incredibly complex world of the soul. This book demonstrates how we are all ultimately connected with each other, God. The authenticity of the material is indisputable making this (as well as all Seth books) an essential read for any sincere seeker.

I have been a keen reader of channeled books for many, many years and this one was one of my first. I am not in the habit of writing reviews, but Seth Speaks stands out and I felt it deserved my feedback. Seth talks about how our thoughts and feeling are specific electromagnetic units influencing our reality - how the combination of thought, emotion, and desire creates form. A thought provoking concept indeed, but many years later science discovered the very same thing. What we think and feel really do count - it influence our reality.
The content of this book is way ahead of science like most channeled information is. It explains realities beyond our 3D world and we can access these by changing our frequency and level of consciousness. If you are into books containing channeled information this book is a must.

this is hilarious that so many of you think Seth is a devil with forked tongue. HILARIOUS. Who told you that, Jesus? If your buddy could die on the cross and come back from the dead, turn water into wine, etc., etc., etc., why can't a guy named Seth speak through Jane?
Life is... what you think it is. The other side ain't much different from that either.
Naysayers beware... what you think is true (for you).

I have read Seth Speaks twice since 1994 along with a couple of other Roberts/Seth works, when I came to the realization that traditional/fundamental religion teachings were leaving me unsatisfied and disillusioned. As an amateur Philosophical/Theological explorer, I keep returning to the Seth Material. Whether or not the information was actually channeled, is no longer of personal importance to me, as it was a few years ago. It is the information itself that keeps me returning for further reading. If you are truly interested in doing "Soul Work" as termed in the Conversations w/ God books, this is an excellent, far more detailed book to read while embarking on such a journey. God (All That Is) Bless!!!

When I first read the seth books i was fascinated by the depth, clarity and straight-forwardness of the material. I have been an avid explorer of Science and Particle Physics (and other fantastic applicable subjects which i will refrain from mentioning here as they dont belong to the scope of this review).

Great work of Physics has been lately put forward by Stephen Hawking(Brief History of Time 2.Universe in a Nutshell), Fred Alan Wolf(1.Mind into Matter 2.Matter into Feeling), David Bohm (1.Thought as a system 2.Wholeness & the implicate order 3.The Essential David Bohm), Michio Kaku(Hyperspace), Paul Halpern (The Great Beyond) and Brian Greene(The Elegant Universe) to name a few. I read and re-read all of them during the last 12 years and then by "accident" i found seth books three years back.

I have a reason to believe according to whatever i have studied uptill now and whatever i have learned from life keeping an objective mind that seth or what ever he/she is- knows all that Physics stuff experientially to the bones! And what is actually amazing is that he can put it all together in one or two books with much greater depth and insight then all of these physicists combined, these physicists cant explain their own work with such ease, depth and certainty as seth has explained in a layman's terms for daily living! And if thats not enough seth has also informed what are the implications of this kind of information for a regular human being! You cant top that can u?

Now coming to those self proclaimed "cri-ticks" or "scalp-ticks", what in the world are you thinking? You skeptics sound like a person who is all out there to shoot holes in a good idea, all go for the kill but don't have the understanding or power to create one living cell, (all death no life) you are all good for one thing, to tell people what won't work instead of what may work and what is the BEST! But i dont blame you cause thats how you make i living and you have a right to - till you explore other healthy ways.

So do i recommend seth...? Yes i do but thats only part of the picture, i also recommend all the physics work, all the NLP work, all deepak chopra work - (after all he is also very "scientific", a qualified doctor (MD)from US)- life coaching work and then explore seth and other channelled work as well so you have an all rounded conceptual development. I know it will take some time but where are you going any way? You are the most important person in your life, you are the center stage and you deserve the best! Explore, Explore and Evolve Fast as there are only so many tomorrows...an open mind is always better then a closed one and Choice is better then not having any!

I first read Seth Speaks in 1978, picked it out of a bin at a flea market on a whim. Little did I know then that I would go on to re-read this book dozens of times over the years, or that it--among other Seth titles--would transform how I viewed "reality" and my place in it. So, of course I would recommend it to others who are interested in expanding their knowledge and insight. However, a caveat: Seth Speaks doesn't mix well with dogma. The material is challenging and demands a willingness to go against the grain of conventional thinking in many areas. It's definitely not a book that provides quick and easy answers to life's problems; but it's full of concepts that will probably make you think long and hard.
Among Seth's contentions is that knowledge actively seeks out those who desire it. In the case of Seth Speaks, I'm sure glad it found me.

This book was suggested to me while I was studying different religions many years ago. I was blown away! It was
as if Seth spoke to my soul. I have never read a book that comes as close to explaining God and the meaning of life the way that this book does. I have always had questions about all of the contradictions in the Bible, there seemed for me to be more questions than answers. When I read this book it was as though a light went on and everything that I knew in my heart and mind was written on pages. I have suggested it to many people over the years and will continue to suggest it.

This is a one of a kind spiritual guide to truth. When I began reading the various Seth materials I wasn't able to understand. Then one day it dawned on me. I opened the book and all of the ideas I'd concieved of were presented in a thoroughness and clarity I couldn't even begin to touch. I recommend it highly and have gotten others to read it and still encourage its message to this day. As I am writing my own philosophical montage I will use much of Seth's material as relevant background. I couldn't possibly get away from it! Get it! Read it many times! It will change the way you live and look at life!

This book had me until the end when it spoke about the three major religions, "mohammadanism was so violent because Christianity was so gentle.." What!? SO seth knows the secrets to the universe but not enough to know that Islam is not referred to as Mohammadanism??? I'm afraid that this smacks of a personality from the US and more importantly the 1970's as miss Roberts was. I am not Christian or Muslim but I am educated enough to know that Islam had a golden age that contributed much to our lives, art, architecture, mathematics, even bathing, ..ex:you know those little numbers you use??? that is from the golden age of Islam. More so, Christianity was gentle....lol. Gee you know all the wars, Protestants verses Catholics, the witch trials, the largest genocide of living history of the native americans and SLAVERY??? Hiroshima? And what about now? The pummeling of Iraq and Afghanistan, etc, etc.
After the red flag, I had to reevaluate the other information that I accepted as true and I feel that there is still some truth in it.

I believe that they are a fantastic plagiarized work combining theories to create "the answer."

The idea that our thoughts create reality is nothing knew. It stems from the Greek philosophers. Try reading Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle. About the after life experience, try reading actual experiences of near-death experiences which talk about great feelings of peace, instant travel with thought, and a life review. I feel much of the theories of reincarnation have been taken from Buddhism.

More so, I hate to say it, but if Robert was receiving personal art instruction from an omniscient being surely his work would be better??

I think the theory that we create our own reality is true to AN EXTENT. But if it were completely true than that implies African Americans were responsible for their enslavement because they manifested this reality through their own negative thoughts, which is of course absurd.

My advice to you is to stay positive but not to lie around thinking of positive manifestations in your life only, but to ACT on them too and to accept those aspects of our life which are out of our control. If a tornado came and destroyed my house, I will not stand around thinking that I manifested my own house destruction.

Lastly, I am annoyed about the part where he says that beings are pretending to be our loved ones when we cross over. Now, I will be suspicious of anyone who greets me at death's door.

It is a wonderful corrupting work that encourages self reflection and self empowerment. But I believe that this is a work of Jane's, not seth's.

If there is ever a book to give your mind a quantum leap into paradigm shifting, this is the book. I read the original publication when I was around 19 years of age in 1979. The perfect time for a young adult to answer an identity crisis questions. I found this book when I was fairly young, and it has served as a guide to living and a centerpoint for me. In the tradition of manifesting according to desire, intention, emotion, and belief, Seth urges you to do the work to create the life of your dreams. I don't know where this information came from; I don't care where this information came from. It works. It works, and you will create goodies and surprises for yourself that you never deemed possible. Please read it closely and with an open mind. Don't be daunted by the abstract concepts and some of the vocabulary. You will find that the information is as simple and elegant as a child's smile.

At first, I was skeptical, but when my professor (a woman with a doctorate in Physics) suggested I put that initial skepticism aside and just consider the content, I was thoroughly amazed. Something spoke directly to my soul in this book, like it was an old friend who had come to chat and to remind me who I truly was, and of my part in this joyful universe. Read the other reviews to get a bigger picture of the book, but if we need any piece of liturature at all, at this crucial time in our history as a species, this is it. Open your mind, and then this book.

Most importantly, I was able to let go of so much fear in my life, and that has opened my up to be able to be receptive to new experiences. Seth delves into some issues that I embraced or already knew, some that I opened my mind to, and other that I just couldn't understand. I've enjoyed reading the reviews of "Seth Speaks" by the late Jane Roberts. I originally purchased this book in the early 80s not long after I had enlisted in the Air Force and saw a fellow airman reading one of the more advanced volumes of the Seth material. He dissuaded me from reading the volume he was reading and suggested I read "Seth Speaks" instead. Being no stranger to the metaphysical (I was raised a Christian Scientist and my Grandfather has a testimonial in that the Science and Health), I nonetheless started my read of Seth Speaks with some skepticism. It was not long before I became absolutely engrossed in the book, spending nearly three weeks of time doing nothing but study it in my spare time (along with some long runs from time to time to clear my mind). I then obtained several other volumes of the Seth Material, and studied those as well. I thank you for considering my comments.
TO THOSE WHO THINK THAT THE BOOKS ARE A HOAX DESIGNED TO GENERATE CASH FOR JANE ROBERTS AND ROBERT BUTTS: There are few who apparently agree with you in these reviews. Furthermore, I sincerely doubt if these fine people ever made any significant money from writing these books. Frankly, I'm glad they made enough of a living to spend time generating the material.
THE PROOF IS IN THE PRACTICE OF THE CONCEPTS: Only by practicing the concepts in these books, begining with the concept that consciosness precedes form ("You - you as a multidimensional personality - create your own reality" as so many herein have mentioned), can you find out if these ideas are suited for you. If they are not, you will know. If they are, you will also know.
THIS BOOK IS A MUST READ FOR YOU: Not many books can be read by many people and turn out to be their favorite book of all time. This book is my favorite book of all time (though I have to admit I've read "Pride and Prejudice" by Jane Austen nine times - which is more times than I've read Seth Speaks - wasn't it Balzac who read P&P 17 times?). I'm glad to see that so many other people give it a high ranking in the personal cannon. If you think you might be interested in this book, I suggest you try it.
THE DANGER IN THIS BOOK. I'm always amused when people suggest that a book is dangerous. Yes, if you believe it is dangerous, it may be to you. Ideas are dangerous. Don't read stuff that threatens your comfortable and happy existence. Now, if you're not comfortable and happy with the way things are, and you sort of think that there is source of power and energy that underlies our existence, you might find this book very reassuring. For in the conceptual framework of the Seth material, the world as we know it is stripped of most of its rules (and dogma) and a rather simple code replaces them: namely that we are responsible for the world as it is and that we should think twice before harming other beings and things. That's a hearty dose of self-respect.
RE-READING "SETH SPEAKS": Like many other reviewers, I found that this book always provides me fresh insight when I return to it. By the same token, I'm not afraid to tell you that I, at one time, threw all volumes in my possession of the Seth material in the garbage, not because I thought it was evil or stupid, but because I thought I needed a complete break from my absorption in it. I have wondered if this is why Jane Roberts passed away in her 50s (I think it was) - perhaps she was getting too intertwined with the Seth material - and it seems that in the final volume - "The Way Towards Health" - Seth is reluctant to let her go. In a way, Jane had become synonymous with Seth, and I expect that her own work has never gained the popularity that the Seth material achieved -- but who am I to comment on this? She seemed to have been a very vital and unique personality. I wish I'd have known her personally. In any case, there are few books that people find worth re-reading, and I can see I'm not alone in finding "Seth Speaks" to be one of those books.
WHAT THE BOOK IS ABOUT: I've seen some reviewers have attempted to explain the book and even give it a sort-of literary review by comparing it to other literature in the metaphysical and religious genres. This books is a highly personal book, and must be read and absorbed by you and you alone. It is both a difficult and easy read; difficult in that the concepts presented will not immediately make sense to you (you will have endless questions) and easy in that you can read it without stopping to contemplate it. Read it as you wish, at whatever pace you wish. Put it away (or throw it away!) and come back to it later. YOU WILL KNOW IF IT'S FOR YOU OR NOT -- IF YOU ARE SEARCHING FOR AN EXPLANATION FOR WHY THINGS ARE THE WAY THEY ARE, I SUGGEST YOU READ THIS BOOK.
HOW YOU MIGHT KNOW IF THIS BOOK IS FOR YOU. This book may be for you if you often wonder how it is that God (or whoever) created this existence, or if you wonder why God has been so cruel, or if you have a background in belief systems, or scientific evidence that espoused or theorized the idea that "mind" creates or has an influence over "matter." If you like metaphysics, read it. If you don't think science has alll the answers (like any good scientist), then consider this book as an alternative - or possible quantum leap forward in scientific thinking.
Thank you for reading this. I appreciate it.

If you are seeker of true spiritual wisdom, knowledge and understanding then this is a must read book. I have read many books on the subject however the SETH books explains spiritual concepts with such that clarity and detail that I was totally amazed. The concepts discussed laid the the ground work for and confimed the validity of the knowledge later revealed in Conversations's With God another must read series of books for those on the path of enlightment.

I was a fan of the Seth material in the early 70's when there was a lot of new age material floating about. My view at that time was that it didn't matter if Jane Roberts just made up that material or not. It presented an interesting theory about life which like all religious theories and also some scientific theories like the Big Bang theory can neither be proved or disproved. We just accept what models we like and go with those. Certainly the Jane Robert's theories are a little more interesting than the standard heaven and hell theory. If you are good you go to an undefined heaven but if you are bad then you will burn in hell. Of course there are many alternate religious theories which are not so extreme. Buddhism and Taoism alwo provide interesting theories about life and the universe. So take it all with a grain of salt but by giving these things a bit of thought, I think it is good for the brain as much as it is to watch a movie with a good plot. Better still is to think about the world problems and see if all these theories could provide the steps to some solutions. It is easy to be a critic but very difficult to come up with something oneself. We all have listened to millions of songs and we all can point to this and that song and say it's crap. But how many of us can speak with authority and create our own masterpieces that the rest of society could stomach and even like?

It took me quite some time to read this book. It's really deep and I had to stop and chew on some things for a while. I would recommend keeping an open mind while digesting everything Seth has to offer.

As for me, I'm not sure what to believe in anymore. I'll keep researching and look to find more answers. Seth did answer some of my questions about what is out there in the future for us...life after death.

This is a great book. If you are new to spiritual growth and metaphysics, this book may be a startling introduction. Seth is a great teacher, who returned through Jane to bring a great description of how life on earth works from a perspective outside of physical reality.

Seth has been one of my greatest teachers and I hope that you enjoy his presence, which is actually palpable for many, myself included. I spent a year with Seth, and my life was different afterwards. The door opens. Good luck on your journey!

This book has traveled the world with me. And yet, each time I re-read it, it is as wonderful and insightfull as the first time. I'm going to keep this short, because if I wrote about what this book has meant to me it would take days to write. Some of the content is mind blowing, and takes a few times to read before the magnitude of it sets in. I can't say enough how great this book is. But it isn't really just a book. I first read this incredible book in 1975. My friends and I followed Jane's example and got a ouija board and began a spiritual odyssey more exciting than ever. Jane was listed then and she was very supportive of our efforts. It led to a new book by the spirit John THE CRUCIFIXION-WHAT REALLY HAPPENED AND WHY. Our intro details how Seth Speaks affected our lives.

This material doesn't really need any justification. If the ideas within fit with you, you will know to buy it. It was only by what seemed like a series of rare coincidences that I came across it. If you have made it this far, then maybe it is a forgone conclusion...

This book completely shifts your perspective on reality. At some point you'll wonder how you could have had so much confidence in a kind of single and narrow perspective of reality for so long. Many questions I have been contemplating in life have been answered in this book. Brilliant!

This is a very good book, but it is difficult to read and digest. It has taken me a long time to get very far in the book. This is not one you can read through and get the gist of it. You must read and re-read to absorb the content.

This book is very intriguing. I guarantee if you read it you will find out something about life as we known it that is quite different to traditional views of the average person. This book could also lead anyone to stop feeling they're not in control of they're own life, and realize that they are the guide and creator of they're own personal reality.

I read a number of the Seth books back in the early 70's when I was walking down that worn out cattle trail so many traverse but rarely seem to come to the end of, "searching for truth". At that time it was not popular to be into such things and I was considered a weirdo. Now of course we have psychic hotlines for the stupid, puposeless masses, and what was once weird is now ok. When I read the Seth books, particularly Seth Speaks, I thought I'd found "IT". I was so sure of it (it felt so right to me) that I kept trying to persuade my friends to check it out. At best they simply tolerated me and wondered just why I was the way I was. Now it's over 20 years later and I'm older and, through hard experience, somewhat wiser. I won't go into detail because this isn't the place for it, but my advice to you folks is to leave this Seth stuff alone. It isn't true, at least not fully true, and there is a pleasing deceptiveness to it (behind all the gracious, tolerant, kind words of Seth) that will get you into a deluded state you won't realize. You'll be like a lobster who doesn't know he's boiling because the water temperature only increases gradually. I know that probably no one will want to hear what I just said. If someone said it to me during the days when I was SURE that Seth was the definitive word on the spirit world I doubt I'd have listened. Yet, if you ever get into some situation in life where reality overrides your current warm feelings about Seth (as reality has a nasty way of doing about a lot of things) perhaps you'll remember my words and at least realize that there are some who have walked this way and found out it was just an illusion, yet life has gone on just fine. I'm only rating it one star because there is no option for none.

No complaints about the book itself - great material! I'm rather picky about the condition of my books however and this one arrived with one of the corners a bit damaged. The other book from the same order arrived in perfect condition.

This book was recommended to me by a friend whose opinion I hold in high regard. She said that this book profoundly changed her life when she read it many years ago. However, it was only when I was more than half-way through the book that she decided to point out that there were only one or two ideas in the book that were worth exploring, and they came at the end. The general concepts in this book are fascinating, but the approach that the author takes is hokey and confusing at best. Even if you buy the premise that the author is channeling the voice of a spiritual entity who was once a 4th-century Pope, among other incarnations, the book is still going to be a disappointment. Much of the philosophy presented is just plain rubbish. And a lot of it is rehashed rubbish. The author provides no new convincing arguments that our souls live on beyond the demise of our bodies. There is one really interesting notion in this book, that every single thought that we have, whether we act upon it or not, is played out in an infinite number of alternate universes. It's fascinating to ponder, but impossible to gain any practical benefit from it. This book is basically a cult classic, very popular among people who already believe in reincarnation and the like. But for the rest of us skeptics, it is not worth reading.

I understand that in these times today many people just don't like to talk about the dark world of demons and Satan...but there was a time in my life I was spiritually thirsty and followed these books. They are very attractive, but believe you me this book and many others took me to a dark place that Christians have warned us about. What this book did to me was research Christianity from the beginning and I am now a strong devout Roman Catholic. I know for most Christians being Catholic is a big no no, but I have researched many Catholic Prophecies and they date back hundred of years and they predicted this huge Crisis that is occurring inside the Vatican and the Catholic Church. I would caution people that all religions came after the 16th century....but the Catholic Church is really really really the true Church of Jesus Christ. Study it and learn to defend it and make sure you priests are true shepherds and not wolves.

I can't believe people are so gullible that they buy into these fakirs. What would be neat is if the "Amazing Randi" witnessed and critiqued these Seth sessions, I'm sure they would be exposed for the shams they are just like Uri Geller. The sleep deprivation these people practise are probably what causes them to believe their own lies. Stay awake long enough and you'll see and hear anything you want to. Trouble is when people like this try to make a buck off of it.

I suppose this book might be just what some people are looking for, but I found that it went into such minute detail that I finally quit trying to read the book. I'm surprised that this book is recommended as the first one a person should read if they are a Seth beginner. I personally don't think it is a great benefit to know the "physics" of a soul (so to speak).

I tried to read the book with an open mind, I tried to give it a chance...to be as the pc mob likes to speak about "tollerant"...I could not...so many times it goes against the prophets of Adonai, so many times it goes againts Yeshua's teachings... i.e., the Bible...I'm sorry...but this is not the way at all...only the Bible holds the truth...if you want some more explanation into the human soul, try the Jewish Zohar...for it comes from the same Essenes community Yeshua came from...was prophetically born in...

Surely, not another Butts book. When will this jerk stop beating his dead wife for what he can squeezzzze out of her. I'm beginning to doubt the validity of Seth. If he "was" or "is" surely he would have put an end to Butts for the rest of eternity.

I read this cover to cover in 1977. It changed the course of my life. It's a tough read, very dense, but I highly recommend it. I buy every copy I see at the second hand stores so I can give them away. I bought this one as a gift.
