A truly unique story of true love and fighting for survival. Lora Leigh knows how to pull a reader into her story and keep them begging for more. Can't wait for the next one. Thank you for giving me a wonderful few days.

A great follow-up to the last story. I absolutely love how Lora Leigh not only keeps the series going and cohesive, but how every story is stand alone but tied together. You get to catch up with old characters and gain insight into both the new and the old. As for this story, it was wonderful and as full of drama and suspense as usual. Also the sex was hot, hot, hot! There are plenty of twists and turns throughout the story that keep you reading well into the night. I definitely had a hard time putting it down once I started it. Of course, I've read every book in this series, but never once has Ms. Leigh let me down. Even her short stories are great. She is very good at setting the scene but not bogging you down with unnecessary stuff. If you haven't previously tried on of the stories in this series I'd suggest starting at the beginning just for your own fun, but you really can start anywhere in the series and not be lost. Ms. Leigh gives you enough background to seamlessly slide right in to any book In her series, something I really appreciate since there's usually a year long gap between new books. As for this book, I absolutely loved every minute of it! A rogue hero, a very reluctant heroine and so mant twists and turns it sometimes made my head spin. But I loved every minute of it. I try not to do spoilers in my reviews, so I'm sorry if you expected more but I refuse to spoil a book for anyone or anything. All I can say is read this story. Well worth reading!

Whine, whine, whine. Could not get through this book. Skipped over parts as was tired of Cat continuously whining. So disappointed. Think I will stop this series. This one was so confusing from the beginning and just continued along that same line. Also too expensive for an book.

I picked up Coyote's Mate years ago and became hooked on Lora Leigh's Breed series. I'm glad it wasn't Bengal's Quest or I would have missed out on all the other good books in this series.
Bengal's Quest was not good. It could have been a 10 chapter short story due to all the repetition. (He abandoned her when she was twelve, she wanted to belong, she hated him, etc.) I've read every Breed book, and was still confused about what was going on at times.
I like the Breed series because it is believable and not "way out there." This book was "way out there" due to the sharing of spirits in one body. I'm still not sure what happened when Cat "died" and was taken away - by that time I was just skimming the book. (I still can't believe I paid $10.99 for the kindle edition. I've read much better free books.)
Sorry to say, I think this will be my last Lora Leigh book. I guess all good things have to come to an end.

The Heroin is full of bitterness it ruined the story. She brings so much negative emotions it sucks the reader's energy. She's so bitter, always arguing and fighting and complaining it's a very annoying book. Sorry.

Lora Leigh does it again in her new book "Bengal's Quest" by finally closing the chapter on the two mysterious breed females Hope & Cat. She also brings out of the shadows the mysterious Gideon now known as Graham. He has known all along who his mate was & instead of wanting to kill her as she had been told all this time, he wants to show her he loves her. However, there are always obstacles each breed mating has to overcome.
This book is wrought with such obstacles that each breed mate must overcome. The real question is can they put it in the past & move forward to being each other's love & mate. This book has its share of ups & downs for both main character's Cat & Gideon. Does love conqueror all is the question they must ask in order to find it.

I have always been a staunch fan of the Breeds... And this one didn't disappoint me... After Jonas I found the other breeds a little tame, but wow.. Gideon or Graeme enthralled me... I loved the book...

I have been disappointed with the last couple of Mrs. Leigh's books. It drags on then right before it ends the characters get together. I think she needs to look back at her first 10-15 books and remember why we loved those books, action, love scenes (more than 1 and not at the end) and great story lines.
I am also fed up with all these 5' nothing women with these over 6' men. I think she had 1 women that was about 5'7" that could kick butt, which was more believable.
I do believe this book was a waste of my money, but i keep hoping she gets back to what made her books so popular. There is too much story line and not enough action/plots and love scenes.
I want to see them fight the bad guys and find their mates, which shows that they are made to be together, if though the breed is part animal, but he /she still has a lot of humanity, in regards to love, fairness and protecting their love ones.
I want to be so moved, that I am cheering for them and feel that their love is especial, worth and wish that I can find my own breed!

Lora Leigh is the ultimate writer in this genre. The Breed Series is the best BAR NONE! I could not put this book down. The intensity between the main characters, (lusty), the action and the intrigue were wonderful.

This was a great addition and much better than Jonas book which I hated as the worst one and the winged breeds are back baby. You will only like this book if you have not followed the series you will be lost and struggle to understand it. However this was a great addition .

It's a shame she spread her self out so thin because it takes soooooooo long to get the next book and she really left a large bundle of threads waving in the wind and sooooo many questions unanswered she has so many series running that she messes up the story line about the Breeds what with misnaming places and people. She is killing her own story because we're getting tired of waiting on her to get around to writing more of the story

I placed my order for this book in Aug 2014. IT WAS WELL WORTH THE WAIT!!!!! I loved this book!!!! The long journey between Cat and Gideon was so painful, filled with bad memories of the horrific medical treatments during their confinement in cages at a Breed research center. I have read EVERY BREED book by Ms. Leigh, and I must say that "BENGAL'S QUEST" made me want to cry at times, The pain and anguish they endured. The part where they escaped from the Breed research facility was so moving. Cat and Gideon were so hopeful, determined and strong, and the love between them was beautiful. This story covered many emotions. I loved the humor in parts of this book as well.
Well written. THANK YOU MS. LEIGH. Looking forward to your next BREED book!!! Soon, I hope.

For this being one of the ones alot of us wanted to read this fell flat for me. It is very slow at parts, extra characters that are not needed, and an ending that was anyi climactic. Very disappointed with this one

I am a follower from the beginning with all thirty novels now I started with kindle. Lora leigh is one of my flavored but first in the breeds. I started reading the best. An now, it's hard to get away from and fine other authors that keep my interest in breed storyline. This is again a worthy read and never getting teared of the breed saga. Only because it changes the drama of each character that has been introduced.

This book wasn't what Gideon was portrayed to be. I thought there would be more information about other people as well. The other books were. In Rules book it looked like she was starting to wrap up the breed storyline, after 30 books that's what needs to happen. I expected more from the elusive Gideon.

Lora Leigh has once more shown up with an almost incomprehensible plot that repeats itself at least twice and contradicts itself at least as much. Thankfully the 'barb' is starting to sound like something you could actually live through however.
Proof that no matter how popular a writer you are, a good content editor should be a requirement.
Still, it wasn't a horrible way to spend an evening, so three stars.

There really is no plot to this book at all. Graeme/Gideon's little Cat whines and complains the entire book, page after page after page, about him leaving her. Then there is page after page of how intelligent and brilliant they both are and there has not ever been any Breed this smart.
Throw in some cut and pasted sex scenes and a ridiculous stortline about body being possessed by another person and here's your book. We did see a mention of Jonas' second in command for one sentence. A few other Breeds and some characters from other books were mentioned in passing as if the author needed to fill space but the references were so confusing, they were not worth reading. So very disappointed!

BENGAL’S QUEST is the thirtieth, full length installment in Lora Leigh’s adult, contemporary BREED erotic, paranormal romance series focusing on a government experiment that went horribly wrong. Years earlier, trying to create the ultimate warrior, scientists combined animal DNA with human embryos resulting in a species that has been feared and tortured since their inception. This is NOT a series about animal shifters, but a series about a hybridized species of human and animal. With the release of BENGAL’S QUEST we are introduced to the newest development in the Breed creation whose DNA has been altered following birth. This is Gideon/Graeme, and Cat/Claire’s storyline. Both of their stories have been building throughout the series.
SOME BACKGROUND: Cat was born human with a genetic defect but through injection of Bengal DNA, Cat’s own DNA began to change. Using Navajo magic, the soul and personality of a dying young girl was placed into Cat thus rendering our heroine with a dual personality and the introduction of Claire. Through the years, Gideon has been tortured in both body and mind, and in this our hero’s dual personality leaves questions about his true identity and his personal quest. One side of Gideon is a warrior named Graeme; the other side is a beast who is determined to destroy everything that threatens his mate and the people he loves. What we have is a storyline about one lifelong search for the truth; two people fated by DNA, and four personalities that will see heartbreak and dissolution of family and friendships.
Told from dual third person perspectives BENGAL’S QUEST follows Gideon as he continues to protect the woman he claims as his mate, while keeping his true identity a secret from the people in charge. Gideon has been working behind the scenes to wreak havoc and vengeance upon the Genetics Council that destroyed so many lives, but disguised as his alter ego Graeme, he continues to work closely with Bureau of Breed Affairs in their attempts to locate the other missing Breeds. What ensues is a dark and dangerous game of push and pull between Gideon and Jonas; and Cat’s determination to prove that she is capable of protecting herself from those wishing to do her harm.
The relationship between Cat and Gideon begins four days following Cat’s birth. Gideon fell in love with the small child he had sworn to protect, and through the years Cat’s dependency upon ‘G’ was that of a child to a parent; a sister to a big bro. But Gideon knew Cat was his mate from a very early age, and our ‘anti-hero’ walked away in the hopes of protecting Cat from future harm. The $ex scenes are erotic, intimate and animalistic. Gideon’s need to claim Cat will be met with trepidation and heartache.
BENGAL’S QUEST is the culmination of several storylines where the truth behind Gideon’s secrets and past life are revealed. Gideon has been a shadow; an enigma throughout the series. He is a Bengal Breed whose nature has been changed by experimentation and torture, but a man whose desire to help comes across as interference and threatening. The ensemble cast of characters brings together several of the previous storyline heroes and heroines including Jonas Wyatt as the acerbic director of the Bureau of Breed Affairs. Jonas’s position as Director is often questioned but rarely denied.
With the release of BENGAL’S QUEST and RULE BREAKER (#29) Lora Leigh has answered many questions, and revealed the truth behind the secrets and lies that continued to build throughout the series. If you are a fan of Leigh’s BREED series, these two books are must reads; the previous revelations, identities, and cryptic clues will be acknowledged, answered, and disclosed-that is not say that everything will fall into order, but with this particular ARC of the series, many questions have finally been answered.

What's happened to all the authors?!? I don't know if this is just me, but everyone of my go to authors is being taken over by some bat crazy ghost writer or something, I swear. Kenyon, Feehan, Adrian, and Leigh, all of whom had fabulous series, distinctive writing styles and 5 star books have suddenly turned into authors that I won't even buy their books any more, the only way I read this was renting the ebook from the library.....
Lora Leigh's earlier books were fantastic. Well written and each one was different, but stayed true to the original plot in re: to mating heat and what have you ....now Leigh has taken this wonderful breed series down a rabbit hole of godawful repetitiveness. And it's actually all her books. Everyone she writes, no matter the series, bound hearts, the seals or the breeds, they all have the same basic outline. The characters knew each other for years, for whatever reason loved each other/wanted each other, but resisted until now for....reasons. None of which make a lot of sense. Now, she's throwing in soul switching and body sharing and I am just done. Hands in the air, throwing in the white flag, done.
What really fries me, is she had a winning combination before, I loved the mating heat and how it took over, and the plot twists of making strangers forced together.....but no, now they can resist the heat, each and everyone of them, and if you replaced previous names with the ones from here I wouldn't know the difference the books are that similar. Coyotes mate/mercury's war were the last good books in this series, (at least imo) I wished I'd stopped then.
I would recommend Benagls Quest only to those who have read her past five books and enjoyed them, if you're like me and have not, I honestly wouldn't even waste my time renting this book, it's that far off from the original writing style and series, I genuinely don't think it's the same author anymore.....and yet I return. I can't help but hope she'll again have a book I know she's capable of.
One thing too, I can't help but wonder if I judge this to harshly. Perhaps she hasn't been up to par imo, but if I hadn't read her earlier, fantastic work (my personal fave is Elizabeth's Wolf I think) maybe this would seem better. Like, if this was written by a new up and coming author maybe I'd be more willing to accept it and not have such high standards?

I never thought I'd ever read a tame Lora Leigh book. I didn't know she knew how to write a tame book. Gone were the 20 pages of graphic sex scenes replaced with ......something. Usually, I'm flipping pages to get through the multiple love scenes. Imagine my surprise when I didn't have to flip at all because they were over within a blink of an eye. When the graphic genital names were replaced with the scientific names I became convinced that someone else wrote this book. This jumbled mess didn't have the feel of Lora Leigh. It's like LL had brainstorming notes and gave them to someone else to write this book! Besides the non LL type love scenes (that she is known for) the whole book had a disjointed feel to it. Yes, we had closure to this storyline, but it's like LL was more tired of it than her readers. I can honestly say it was dragged out way too long! I can get over the YA sex, the jumbled mess of most of the book, but the thing that frustrated me the most were the changes in the storyline! Like the sky is orange 3 books ago, but this book the sky is teal. (A real book ex: in this book Gideon knew from the beginning the blood transfusion would start the mating heat. Really?? In prior books he went feral out of his mind and he didn't know about mating heat. Gideon just thought the blood transfusion made him insane because of the experiments.)
Don't waste your money on the book. It is so not worth it! Check it out from the library, flip to the last 2 chapters for the storyline conclusion.

For three years, we've been waiting for Gideon's story and we get this mess. Body possessions, I hate you, you're mine, blah, blah blah. There was no connection between Gideon and Cat. You didn't feel anything for them at all. It read like she didn't know their story at all. And I'll say it again, three years for this book is a joke. If you don't want to write anymore, then don't. If you do, give us your best, not this.
Lora Leigh was a trailblazer in paranormal romance. I've been hooked on her books for years. This was a waste of time and definitely a rip off in the price of the book.

When this book came out and it said #30 I thought "No way! I can't possibly have read so many books in one series!" Looking through my Goodreads account I think I may have missed 3 books which includes novellas.
Can you read this as a standalone? I would say no, however you don't necessarily have to read all the books to get caught up. Each book is about a couple, a much much larger story arc is also moving through all the books. So yes it would be great to start from the beginning I realize that can feel daunting. If you were to start with Lion's Heart book 21 you could play catchup on the current story Arc. Though, you would miss a WHOLE LOT of backstory.
In Bengal's quest we have Graeme AKA Gideon who is the feared crazy breed that Jonas along with the Bureau of Breed affairs has been hunting. I honestly can't remember when Gideon was introduced, it seems like Jonas has been hunting him for at least the last five books, if not more.
Gideon is by far the strongest, smartest and a little bit insane breed ever made.
"As you said I'm insane," he answered absently as he brushed his cheek against the side of one swollen curve. "Why would I pretend sanity at this late date?"
That curve belongs to Cat or at one time Claire. This whole part of the story arc got a bit confusing for me and I felt I needed to go back and read the last few books again. But I remember I was confused in the other books also. There is a lot going on so it was probably my lack of attention that caused the problem.
Cat had me tearing up quite a bit. Her pain, loneliness and just a need to belong was agony to read about. However, I found myself frustrated with her after awhile. Here Gideon is ready to be your mate and you keep pushing him away! I got it, yet I didn't. I also felt like it was repetitive and they kept arguing about the same thing over and over.
The mating heat scenes where mehh. I found myself wanting this book to be done about 100 pages before it was.
What I LOVED was we got to see the winged breeds again! Also the little hints at what the next book may be.
Will it be Khi or will it be Cullen? Or will it be someone we weren't expecting?
I liked that the story moved as a whole but Gideon's and Cat's story was just ok. I love the series and always want to know what comes next. So I can't wait for the next installment!....Sara

I thought this book was ok. I've read her other works and this isn't best in my opinion. She seems like have older Breeds wait for their much younger mate to be come of age, which I find weird. I also thought the book was confusing at times with not much background or explanation, it just is. Like Claire and Cat, 2 souls living in 1 body, how that happened and why. The background was very little and hardly much of an explanation. Also, with the multiple identities, new, old, secret. It was hard to keep up. I may be missing something though.
I didn't care for Cat. She's just plain annoying constantly throwing it in Graeme/Gideon/G's face that he never loved her and she was only an experiment despite him telling her multiple times he did it to protect her and that she's his mate.
There's a lot going on with this plot, a lot of side characters and moving parts. I think it was a bit too much and there's hardly any character development. I was really disappointed with this read.

Bengal’s Quest is book thirty in the Breeds series by Lora Leigh.
I will point out that this is not a standalone nor a good place to start. Their are key elements, storylines, and continuing things in play in a Bengal's Quest. You might be able to get away with starting at Stygian's Honor for this storyline. The opening prologue helped me recall some events, but it’s not enough for a newcomer to the series.
Cat has been in hiding and now that she is exposed, she is finally living her life. She was born human, but due to an illness she was genetically altered into a Breed to save her life. She suffered just like other Breeds and once she escaped she found herself in a position where she had to pose as Claire Martinez to hid from the Genetic Council and the Breed who swore to kill her.
Years ago, Gideon saved a little girl more then once that he called his own. During his last heroic rescue of her, he found himself hurt and she saved him with a blood transfusion, due to that he he swore to kill her. He hurt her emotionally to protect her from the Mating Heat that was starting to consuming him. Now that Cat is a women, he knows it’s time to claim her as his mate.
Confusing? Bengal’s Quest was a bit confusing and well this storyline has been a bit confusing from the start. The storyline spans at least three books maybe more. We get a vague description of transferring spirits and souls into other bodies. Which this concept has been odd and unusual from the moment it was introduced. I never fully understood what was going on with this spirit/soul storyline, until the end of Bengal’s Quest. Even at the end I was still feeling a little like I was missing something in this area. It’s not complete and I don’t know what’s going to happen or if we will get answers. This isn't the first time the author has gone down one path and then changed her mind and never finished.
The romance between Cat and Gideon was mediocre. I never really connected to either, though I did like that Cat was strong-willed and that she put effort into reaching both Gideon the “monster” and Graeme the alpha. It just felt like the same romance was happening again.
Bengal’s Quest also offered too much and didn’t focus enough on long-standing characters. Ms. Leigh continues to expand her world, rather than focus on the characters she has. We are introduced to several potential future storylines that just got in the way and mad things more confusing. For example we have Cat’s friend, Khi (what is up their?), adding more new Breeds, and what possibly happened or will happen to Claire’s spirit. Finally, the story was riddled with repetitive dialogue and inner-monologue.
I will say it was nice to return to the Breed series after stepping away from it for a time, but I felt like it was the same, rinse wash repeat, and doesn’t have that spark that attracted me to the series to begin with. I’m sure I’ll continue on, but it’s not at the top of my list.

Bengal's Quest (Breeds #30)by Lora Leigh
He was a shadow, ever shifting and insinuating, able to blend in everywhere and anywhere. The elusive ideal conceived and created by the Genetics Council, he went by just as many names as he had identities—the last one being Gideon.
Now calling himself Graeme, he hides in plain sight, terrifyingly close to his goal. A rogue Bengal Breed, he has loyalties to no one but himself. And he has a need for vengeance that surges hot and swift through his veins.
Graeme plans to exact an extreme and ruthless vendetta against those who wronged him—Breed and human alike. All will suffer his wrath: those who created him, those who pretended to love him, and those who betrayed him.
That includes the one at the center of it all: a seductive, enigmatic woman helpless against the man whose desire is just as desperate as his need to destroy.
And he’s on her scent.
My Review:
Um... What?
Gideon/Graeme shows up to find Cat/Claire who as a little was saved by him/saves him and in return swears to get revenge for it because she gave him blood but to protect her from his mating need he takes off only to show up for his revenge later on when he then decides to claim her as his anyway. Yes its that confusing. There's also some secondary character drama thrown into the mix and there is so much back and forth that I quickly began to get lost as to why all this was happening to begin with. I'm not sure why this story was so vital because neither character really seemed important to me before so it felt like Leigh jumped the gun on creating a story for these two. You get a lot of rehash and stuff and I don't know if that was for first time readers or not but it felt a little repetitive by the time it was all said and done. Leigh is still a wonderful writer and its fantastic that everyone is important but this time around it didn't quite convince me of its importance.

Quick & Dirty: Genetic experiments and one wild romance!
Opening Sentence: “Cat stared at the white wall of the cell she’d grown up in and she cried.”
The Review:
Cat is an experiment and G is the one who helped create her and help her survive until he abandoned her one day. Now Cat is all grown up and living another life and determined to forget G. Cat is a bengal tiger masquerading as Clarie. Hoping one day she will remember or know who her parents are and cursing the doctors who made her the way she is.
Gideon, also known as Graeme, is trying to exact his revenge and claim his mate. Will Cat fight him every step of the way or will she finally give in?
Okay, first let me say I have read some of the books in this series, but I think it has been quite a while because I didn’t know they were up to 30! Now, the thing I didn’t like was the two different names for Cat and the fact that other name she was living under was a real person. So that made it quite confusing to know who was actually talking or whom they were talking about. G was a tad easier, but again, the three different names and changing them throughout the book was super confusing.
So now that is out of the way, I have always enjoyed the Breeds series when I have read the books, honestly the only reason I don’t is I just don’t read much paranormal romance anymore. I will say that it has always been a series you can jump in and out of and enjoy without feeling horribly lost the whole time. I don’t necessarily recommend it, because I did find myself not understanding some of the background things going on, especially things that have been introduced since I first read the books. For instance, the Navajo introduction of spirit binding and I knowing that would have made the whole Cat/Clarie thing not so confusing to me.
From a romance aspect the books rock as always and I did enjoy reading this one, and I am intrigued enough to seriously consider going back and reading the series from the beginning. Lora Leigh has built a really complex world, with a lot going on and it is just so great. This is definitely a must read paranormal romance if that is your genre.
Notable Scenes:
“But it was too late, the words were already said, the damage was already done.”
“The mark of that acceptance, not just by her but by the animal inside her couldn’t be wiped away, no matter how she’d already attempted to erase it.”
“She was pure and certain destruction if he wasn’t extremely careful.”
“With everything between them, though, she hadn’t expected him to claim to be her mate either.”
“This merciless determination to do what must be done at all costs.”
“He had known since Clarie’s birth that her destiny was to be one of heartbreak and fear in her youth, but one of freedom and greatness once payment was made.”
FTC Advisory: Berkley/Penguin provided me with a copy of Bengal’s Quest. No goody bags, sponsorships, “material connections,” or bribes were exchanged for my review.

Graeme is a Bengal breed who was know years ago as Gideon. He was given Cat when she was a couple of days old. She had a disease, that if not cured would kill her. Gideon added Bengal DNA to her blood and and makes her a breed.
Cat has hidden for years as Claire. Claire's spirit has been inside her and hers has been asleep. Now her spirit is in the front and Claire's is in the back. Now her identity has been revealed. She was so hurt when Gideon left her that when he returns as Graeme it takes a lot to forgive him, even if he is her mate.
Now Cat is a little unforgiving because Gideon had hurt her by telling her he never loved her when she was a child. She keeps throwing that in his face. Graeme is two different Breeds. Graeme when his in control and Gideon when he goes on a killing spree.
*I BOUGHT THIS AS A PAPERBACK AT WAL-MART*Mary is a fae and a veterinarian. Her sister was killed violently by wolves so she wants nothing to do with them. Fergus is Alpha of the Gordion pack and gets in a dominance battle and is skewered in the heart. He contacts Mary and she gets another Alpha to help her go get him. He has been visiting her in a dreamglide and they have been having sex but she doesn't remember it until she goes in one. Now Fergus has to fight the guy again to get his pack back. He is getting fae powers and Mary is getting wolf powers because they are meant to be mates but first Fergus has to remove the steel door preventing him from mating with her. She finds out Sydon, the cheating wolf, is going to attack all the packs and try to start pack wars but Mary dreamglides and telepathically tells Fergus and they rush to stop him.
Great story. Wolves, faes, witches, and ghosts. Dream sex and real life sex with a handsome wolf. The cover disturbs me because the head and hair looks fake.

The game he plays is deep, the stakes are high, he is the master at this game of deception, but what other way is there to play when the survival of your species and your very mate is at stake. One moment you will wonder at his genius then next you’ll question his very sanity, but that is no more than he’s been doing himself for years, ever since he left a young Cat after swearing revenge on the young girl that saved his life and irrevocably tied them together and insured his forays into madness. He’s been many years without his mate. She’s been hidden beneath the veil of tribal magic. Now the veil is lifted and it’s just a matter of time before he claims her permanently. The question is… does he want his revenge or does he want his mate? Who is her mate? Is he Gideon? Is he G? or perhaps his latest incarnation as Graeme? No matter the face he shows the world, he’s managed to accrue his chits and grown quite a loyal following. Makes it just a bit difficult for the poor Jonas to pin him down.
I think up until Gideon I had thought one of the most intriguing characters created by Ms. Leigh was Jonas. I would be very hard pressed to choose after a Bengal’s Quest. Can I just say wow? Talk about a very complex character. And for such a complex alpha male you better believe you’ll get a similarly complex heroine. You’d have to be a rather complex woman if you had a resident ghost co-inhabiting your body.
Thirteen years ago a group of Native American shaman performed a ritual transforming her from Fawn into Claire, a recently deceased girl from the tribe. A bit of plastic surgery had her living the lie for years. But unlike her friend Honor, Fawn never lost herself in the new identity. She didn’t end up in a loving, nurturing family. Instead, she ended up in the care of a traitor. And while Fawn may have been her legal name, it wasn’t really her either. She was Cat. She was G’s creation, a Bengal waiting to emerge. Her life was a ticking time bomb waiting for revenge to happen. She was also on the genetic councils most wanted list.
I have totally loved this series from the very beginning. I wait impatiently for each new release. This time, I did something a little different. I decided to get the audible edition and listen while I read along. I can tell you that Brianna Bronte does an awesome job narrating. She has a great range in her voice and excellent skills in expressing the characters. Again I was totally awed by the skills of Ms. Leigh. I can’t wait to read To Wake a Sleeping Tiger.

Thoughts: Okay, so I’ll be really honest – the general consensus for the Breed series is that it has really lost some of its appeal lately. Not that surprising really, when you’re going on book thirty in a series. I have to admit some of the last few have waned a bit for me as well, but her books always keep me just interested enough to keep reading – to not give up on this series completely just yet. And my instincts were right! I was impressed with Bengal’s Quest – the whole feeling and just general vibe I had while reading this one reminded me more of the earlier books in this series.
That’s not to say you can jump right into this series without reading any of the prior books! The series is going on thirty books after all – that is a lot of backstory and character connections that you’ve missed. And there are A LOT of references to characters seen in previous books, storylines, events, etc. And, trust me, this book would be confusing enough without all that anyway! We have G, who Cat has known and loved since she was 12, who becomes Graeham – but he’s also Gideon. And Cat, who was also Fawn, but who also shares her body with the spirit, Claire…..you see what I mean about confusing? It all is explained and works itself out in the end, but can definitely be confusing – even for fans of the series. Those that have never read one of the books? I can see where you might get totally lost!
Not to say you can’t enjoy the series! Just start with some of the prior books first.
All in all – a great book to breathe some new life into an excellent series!

I <3 These breed stories, this one is no exception, sucked me right in. I was looking forward to this story since Lawe's Justice's book. Gideon, Graeme or G which ever part is read is got his sights set on finally getting his mate now that she is a grown woman not a child anymore. You will just have to read it to find out what that means. But since he was forced to take her blood at a certain age he has been fighting the mating heat since and that does add to his already unstable sanity and the monster was unleashed. He has been protecting Cat for years and will do anything to protect Cat from the horrors of what made him more then unstable. Cat was product of Gideon experiment when she was 4 days old and dying, he has been her rock for years and he made her into the Breed she is met to be. She can a long and painful journey she endured all her life and she is about to put her life in even more danger when she wants to be her again and not the ghost of Claire she was harboring your years while the Breed Cat 'slept'. She is the one Jonas has been looking for a long time since his story and his baby girl was infected by Brandenmore. Graeme is not so dumb breed, he has be a genius more then what Jonas is aware of with the computer programmers, armored suits, formulas, tranquilizers, and so much more, heck he hid this Bangal scent of that of a Lion and was planning with Jonas on many occasions, but the damned Jonas just couldn't figure it out and that is what pissed Jonas off plenty of times, that I had to laugh at. I enjoyed reading this and I cant wait for more. I really, REALLY hope to have a Dane have his book before Ms, Leigh ends this series with Cassie and her Coyote.

It is hard to make huge series commitments these days with the amount of books we are bombarded with on a weekly basis. Back a few years, the market wasn’t as saturated and I binged on the Breeds series until I was caught up (at the time that was up to Lion’s Heat). I have continued reading this series religiously ever since. But also since then, I have come to feel disappointment with every book I read. Why do I continue, do you ask? I’ve come this far…I need resolutions on some old characters that are left open. But what’s been happening in the middle is the dragging of the series without that closure. We are given books about characters we could care less about and then we get thrown a bone about one we are anticipating. BENGAL’S QUEST was that bone for me.
I’ve been interested in Gideon for a while and have wanted to read his story. See what makes him tick. He’s a conniving breed through and through, yes, but he’s also a genius scientist. He played an important role in saving Jonas’s daughter. We know he’s a survivor. He must be so intense and complex! So here we are, his story. And I can guarantee you one thing… it is complex.
BENGAL’S QUEST can be over complicated and confusing at times. Do yourself a favor and if you’re not following this series and have read the previous books, don’t read this one. It’s just not going to be easy for you to follow what’s going on. Ms. Leigh threw so much story into this book that it became too much to follow. And then when it was too much to follow, I lost interest in it instead of trying to figure it out.
Gideon, who is now Graeme, has come back for his mate Cat/Claire. When they were younger back in the labs, the breed scientists had brought a human child with a disease to Gideon to cure by changing her DNA to breed. When she was 13, she saved Gideon’s life with a transfusion and that activated the mating heat for him. When the chance to escape came for him, he left her and his twin brother behind. It wasn’t until now he’s come back to claim his mate.
So a few pointers here. The fact that Lora Leigh was able to come up with a completely different storyline as far as the genetics for this couple after so many books is a big achievement. Cat starting out human and being turned into a breed was cool. The mating heat being activated so many years ago, was cool. But I had issues with the fact that in other books, mating heat is such a consuming need that without getting drugs to suppress it they can’t function without their mate. How did Gideon survive all those years? And after finally coming back together and then being together, I was expecting major earth shattering things to happen. But it wasn’t quite like that. I wanted that to be explored more. I wanted to know more. I wanted to feel more.
I can’t say I didn’t enjoy this story. It was an ok read for me. But it wasn’t amazing. It’s been such a long time since I’ve felt a book in this series is. While I was reading I felt both angered at myself for letting my book OCD continue reading the series, because, as I mentioned above, I want Cassie’s story. Heck, I even want Eli’s book. What ever happened to that? But if it wasn’t for that book OCD I have, I would have dropped this series already.
The one thing I really did enjoy, other than the bad boy hero that is Gideon, was the fact that this book wraps up some old stories and in a way opens up new ones. Hint hint, the Winged Breeds are back! There she goes dangling that bone again.

Having read all of this series, I cannot praise this book enough. All of this Author's writings are amazing. You will find no better writing that this. Each of these books gives a glimpse into the Breeds world. Each story holds so many emotions; Love, Lust, Protection, and Honor.
Cat was created and endured a life of hiding and sorrow. She knew that one day G (Gideon) would return for her but she never imagined it would be a return for his mate. She believed he had deserted her and left her to fend for herself. Years later she will learn the truth. Will she be able to accept his truth or will her anger for him keep growing.
G loved Cat from the minute she was created. As a young boy, he knew he had to protect her. That protection came with a huge cost. Can he explain and make her see reason or if he doomed for a life without his mate?
The world of Breeds is fascinating to me and I'm super happy to see Gideon finally get his story. I've been anxiously waiting for him to make his appearance. I have enjoyed every book in this series. I highly recommend to anyone who loves to read. These books will transport you into a world of despair, lost love, and happy ever after. So hold on to your seat, because you are in for the ride of a lifetime with lots of bumps and twisted adventures. Happy reading!

Oh how I’ve missed the Breeds. Bengal’s Quest answered a lot of questions I’d been pondering as the series progressed. Gideon is a character we’d heard mention of in earlier books but we finally get to hear his story in this book and boy is it a good one. Gideon, who now goes by the name Graeme, is a primal Bengal breed with an obsession for Cat, the woman he’s cared for ever since she was only four days old and he was just eleven. Their experiences in the labs have turned them into who they are now and shaped their behaviors. Cat has believed that she was abandoned by Graeme when she was twelve years old and that he has hated her ever since for her part in attempting to save his life, forcing him into something he wasn’t ready for, but Graeme never truly abandoned her nor has he ever hated her. He’s done everything in his power to protect the girl he’s called his from infancy while she becomes the woman he needs to tame the beast within him.
In this installment we experience deceit, misdirection, and suspected betrayal. There are so many twists and turns that your head is spinning in wonder over what is going to come next. The main characters are a worthy hero and heroine duo and the ending is an unexpected surprise. Lora Leigh once again provides an exciting adventure in the world of the Breeds that you don’t want’t to miss.

Lora Leigh continues her exciting and addicting breed series with Bengal’s Quest. Definitely a great addition to the series but I would caution against starting the series with this book. There is a large back story and the new to the series reader may easily find themselves confused. Keep up the great work Mrs. Leigh and can’t wait for the next book in the breed series.
For years Cat has been longing for Gideon. He abandon her and their brother in the labs to be experimented on while he escaped. When they meet again her beloved G is no longer a man she can trust. In fact she must defend herself from his proclaimed vengeance. The only flaw in her battle plan is the heat building in her veins for this breed.
For years Gideon, now know as Graeme, has infiltrated breed society. Slowly eliminating his targets one by one. He is elusive, secretive, and his next target is in his sights. Due to Cat’s betrayal Graeme now plays a deadly game of cat and bengal. Only the stakes are so much more than they seem.

I have read all the books in this series, and was looking forward to this one...it just didn't make sense! I kept reading, till I read four chapters and then gave up..I skimmed the last three chapters, and still didn't make sense..I had just finished reading 'hot & bothered by Lynn raye harris' which was great, but was feeling xtra sick...so thought it was me...I then went to the store and read the one and two star reviews, and found out, I wasn't alone in my thoughts..I then started to read ' shadows strike by Dianne Duvall' a similar type paranormal book, one in a long series..but, 'shadow strike' was like putting on the most comfortable shoes!!! soft and welcoming..its funny, sexy, with a fantastic storyline...Lora Leigh, needs to a - go back to the start of this series she's written and re read the best books in it..and then b - maybe read books like 'shadow strike' to see where she's gone wrong in this latest book!!! lucky, I borrow then from the library and then will buy, any that really stand out..but, reading part of this terrible book, has taken away time, I will never get back!!! love this series, but, please, get it back on the right track!!!

Saved from death as an infant and protected and watched over by Gideon, or “G” as she called him, Cat worshiped him until after he was wounded and his brother, Judd used her blood in transfusion to save Gideon’s life. After that, he left them, or so she thought. Years after hers, Judd’s and her Breed friend, Honor’s escape from the lab, Cat now lives in a house by the Breed sanctuary. She meets Graeme, but though he smells of a Lion Breed and looks somewhat different, she knows he is her Gideon, now a brilliant Rogue Bengal Breed, with only loyalty to himself and a need for vengeance. Between the two of them is a desire so potent that though they deny it on the outside, beneath, they cannot and are drawn to each other.
Once again, Ms. Leigh brings us a flawed seductive Breed and a woman to deny him the Mating urge between them. A story that is hot as a fire that not even firefighters can put out, this dance of erotic passion flames to a promise delivered well.
I give Bengal’s Quest 5 erotic stars.

Secrets, they shape the lives of everyone involved. This next installment of Breed from Lora Leigh had me up all night, reading. I had to know the secrets of G, Gideon, Graeme or the greatest monster ever created in the lab of the Genetics Council. At a tender age of eleven he was handed his future and he would do anything to protect it. Even become the boogeyman that made people and breed alike tremble. His one and only purpose once he was handed the life of a four day old baby girl was to make sure they both survived or the world would know true terror. Cat knew, yet did not know who and what she really was. With the spirit of Claire to protect her she matured but did not live. Now as the dawn of the awakening was among them, she wanted to live and she wanted freedom. Now all she had to do was convince everyone else, she know what she wanted, even the monster that she had created.

Finally, this book was so long coming it took me a while to jump back in. As in other breed books this one draws you in. You have the breed male protecting breed female, council members and Jackals still trying to capture breeds, and of course Jonas still playing his games, which i am just waiting for someone to kick his rear for him. Really enjoyed this addition to series ,just hate to have to wait so long for next one.

Usually I gobble up a new breed book the first day it comes out but as I started to read "Bengal's Quest," I could tell this book was lacking that spark that makes a breed book fun to read. Lora Leigh is a good writer and her writing has improved over the series -- as has the editing -- but this book didn't create any enthusiasm in me to continue reading this series. What really sucked was that this book was supposed to fill out the character of Gideon/Graeme who had been up to this point a really complex and interesting character. This book is what I call a "bathroom sink book" as the author throws everything in the book to try and create interest but in this case, it failed. This book was so blah and dull and the sudden appearances of various unknown "new" characters to tie up loose ends was pathetic. Characters who normally are well rounded and interesting in the series were literally in this book just place holders. Wish I could say there was a plus side to this book but I can't. It's one thing if this was a sub par paperback but this is a sub par hardback book. Not worth the money and I've already donated my copy to the local library.

I have always loved Lora Leigh. I have all of her books except for the last few that have been severely over priced. I am sad to say that I will not be buying anymore books by her until they come down to the price range of similar books. These are electronic books it should be cheaper than a paper back and hard cover book.

I am definitely done with this series. So much angst, it drives me crazy. He's keeping secrets and she's not letting go. Then she kind of let's go and then she's back to crying. Constant recriminations, constant crying. I just cannot do this anymore.

Love the breed series! It was great up to #27 "Stygian's Honor". After that I started using the local library. I agree with other reviews, if this is where Ms Leigh is going with this series she needs to move on to another series and call this one done.

I love this series, but this book requires you to know too much of what happened in other books and even having read them, I found myself a bit lost. I reread it and still felt like the clarity I expected to find wasn't there and I had to work to hard.

Lora Leigh doesn't disappoint in keeping these breeds as stubborn, alpha males that will do anything to protect their mate. Making the breed world seem so real, you just wanna jump right in. So looking forward to more of their stories!!

I have read all of Lora Leigh's breed books. There are few authors I will buy a hard cover book, Lora is one of them. I took this book with me to Miami Beach to read when I was not writing. Well, once I started this book, I did not do anything but read it. I could not put it down. When you get into tortured characters minds it's not pretty, but it is real. For lovers of Jonas, rejoice, he plays a role in this book.

Holy moly! 30 books into a series and each book still is a page turner with twists and turns and new complications revealed. Love this series. Sexy times, great dialogue and feelings that swamp you when you least expect it. Enjoy!

I was getting bored with this series, but I'm so glad I picked this one up. It has renewed my enjoyment of the Breeds series - the storyline was great with more focus on the drama and relationship (I felt previous books lost that with too much focus on the sex). I enjoyed both characters and I'm excited to see where Leigh goes with Judds story in the next book. #romantsy

When I pay 10.99 for a book I expect it to be good. I've read every breed book and bought this one as soon as possible. The story was just so weak and confusing at times. Everything I loved about this series was missing. After such a long break from rule breaker you'd think it would have a good plot/story line it didn't. I think I'm done with this series its become repetitive nothing new.

I can't get enough of the breeds! I would have been happier if I wasn't so confused in the beginning. Too much time has passed since the last book and I had a hard time jumping back in. I would have been nice to get a little"refresher/reminder" of who was who before jumping right in to the story.

After reading all the reviews for Bengal's Quest, I am so very disappointed and will NOT purchase this book. I have bought all of the prior 29 stores plus any short stores regarding the breeds in anthologies. Sorry can't see paying this much for a book just having read of the repetiveness seeming just to fill pages.
I have waited a long time for another Breed book, guess I will continue to wait!
