The heroine was vicious and nasty. The hero might have been a nice guy but kept reacting to her accusations and venom in the same way that anyone might. Repetitive sex on every page between people who seem to hate each other all because they are FILLED WITH MATING HEAT. I myself prefer to LIKE my sex partner, both in and out of bed. I couldn't even finish this book and deposited into garbage can without further ado. Wish I had my $12 back.

Roni had been abused, and broken since she was 11 because her father used her for money and hoping she wold pleasure his employers to let him off on his debts. The same day Roni ran to hid is the same day she found her other half in Taber. Taber was fighting his animal DNA and he was on the hunt but the cries from Roni broke through his DNA and he rescued her. He was the one person she trusted and loved for over a decade, he was there to protect her, save her from her father and to get her out of her troubles. One day he bailed her out of jail for shooting at a car that she thought were her tormentors, was also the same day he told him her feelings and she wanted to go to the next step with him. That was the last day she ever saw Taber for 3 years. She was handed a note that day from his brother Dayan and the note told her she was a baby and he wanted a real woman to be with, also after she read the note Dayan tried to force her, that was the day she had to grow up protect her self but also it was her heart that shattered.
3 years later her father saw Taber's mark on her should her basically told her that he would sell her if she didnt work it to his advantage a make millions on selling the story. Next thing she know the stupid reporters or holding her down outside of a auto parks store and demanding her answers. It take a friend to get her out of there and to safety. Roni never through her friend was also helps out Taber, Callen and their pride until he lets her know he called her missing mate to get her to safety.
Little did Roni know her life will be changed and her mind will be warring with her body after she is safe in the Pides compound dealing with not just Taber, and he family but also that pesky thing she likes to call a disease "the mating heat" and how she wanted the cure and when she finds out the only cure so far is what she wanted for a long time but she doesn't want to being a innocent life into the world to be taken away from her like everything else she has ever love. Roni will have to face her father, and find out she is not what she thought he was but something even worse.

the-man-within-breeds-feline-breeds-lora-leighRoni Andrews has never had an easy life. Her mother died when she was young and her father, if you can call him that, is always looking for the next get rich quick scheme, most of which aren't exactly legal. But ever since she met that stranger in the forest one night when she was hiding, he has protected her ever since.

Taber has always been a big part of Roni's life, being the one thing she could always count on and he stars in all of her fantasies! But when it looks like all her dreams may be coming true with him, he breaks her heart with a devastating letter.

15 long months later Roni has tried to rebuild her life and is finally turning the run down house she grew up in into a home. She still has to put up with the occasional visit from her father, but other than that she is doing fine. Until she sees the news talking about the genetically altered feline breeds. Taber is one of them, but that's not what shocks her. They show the leader's wife has a mating mark that looks just like the bite Taber gave her before he left town; the wound that won't heal.

When the media gets a tip-off, most likely from her own father, about her mark, Roni is attacked by reporters. And, before she knows it Taber is there to take her to safety once again. But she doesn't trust being around him since he broke her heart. And, now his claiming kiss has caused her to go into heat, an erotic pain that can only be alleviated with a man that she knows has no romantic feelings for her. But with the pains wracking her body and the threats of those that want to capture or kill the mate of a breed, she has no choice, but to turn to Taber once again.

Wow! What a difference a book makes! I was pretty skeptical going into this book because I didn't care for the first book of the series, Tempting the Beast, and I was expecting more of the same. Boy, was I ever wrong! The plethora of sex scenes are still there, but we have a true storyline, and it was great! I really enjoyed this book and can't wait until I can find time to read the next installment of the series.

When reading books of this genre, I have a tendency to fall in love with the male and the females tend to be kind of dull. But I have to say that I really liked Roni. She is a true survivor. I found her feistiness refreshing. My heart hurt for her though, when she got that letter from Taber, even though I figured it wasn't actually from him and that he probably received one as well. I really relished seeing this couple find their way back to one another, even if Taber went about it in an underhanded kind of way.

Speaking of Taber.... For the most part I did like him. The silent protector. I'm glad to see that he seemed to really care about Roni and wasn't the overpowering jerk that Callan was in book one (I'm also glad to see Callan was a nicer guy in this one). There were a few dominating moments that I didn't care for with Taber, but at least he did show remorse for those slip ups, which went a long way with me. Also, this is the first Lora Leigh book that I've ever read that the guy didn't assert his dominance with forced anal, which was nice because that is one thing I always complain about with Leigh's writing, it drives me insane!

Overall, this was a really good book. I finished reading it earlier than expected because I just couldn't put it down once I started reading it! I also really like the new storyline pieces we got at the end of the book. It left me clamoring for more, and I'm really excited for the things to come! Bring on Kane and Sherra!

This was a really good book. This is the second book in the Breed series. Since she was 11 years old Taber as also protected Veronica "Roni" Andrews he stole her heart then and as a woman he broke her heart. For 15 months Taber has stayed away from Roni at her request not realizing that when he kissed her on the neck he marked her and now she is in heat. This was a really good book the "Breeds" are no longer living in hiding the world knows about them so not only is the council after them, but they have to deal with people who don't want them around other humans. Roni is so angry at Taber because she thinks that he left her when he didn't show up not knowing that he was betrayed by one of his brother's. When her father becomes aware that Roni carries Taber's mark instead of keeping his mouth shut all he sees is a chance to make money I hated her father which turned out not to be her father. Reggie was willing to kidnap her to turn her over to people who want to lock her up and use her like a test dummy. This book was really hot and erotic and I loved listening to it I am looking forward to reading or listening to the rest of this series

I'm doing a massive reread of this series. I have to say something though. So, Lora Leigh is a favorite author of course, mostly because of this series. But I am beginning to think she writes the best sex scenes ever. There are some awesome writers out there, but you can literally feel the lust these characters feel. Honestly, even if the plot sucked, I would keep reading just for the sex scenes. Good thing the plot and characters are fan-freaking-tastic!

9/4 - This is the second book within Leigh's breeds series that I've read and it felt pretty much the same as Aiden's Charity, except with cats instead of dogs (well wolves, but you know what I mean). Once again the idea of being confined to a compound that's supposed to be safe, but isn't completely and is constantly under threat of sniper attack or infiltration disturbs me slightly. The cats have had the same horrific experiences in the labs as the wolves in Aiden's Charity did (can't understand how those scientists can miss the comparison between themselves and the Nazi scientists who experimented on twins, homosexuals and the mentally challenged). The sex was the same as in (I assume) most of her other books in this series, hot, detailed and frequent. The overall plot of the series wasn't advanced much, although I couldn't really say I expected anything different, in fact I expect that most of the books in the series (and any off-shoots) will follow mostly the same general storyline (in danger out in the world, get to the compound, continue to be in danger, lots of sex, a pair of "I love you"s and probably a pregnancy, but the continuing story of staying safely out of the hands of the government doesn't get resolved until the very end). I reckon, as long as I don't go on a binge of them I shouldn't get too sick and tired of them before I've finished them all.

I know, I know some of you may think my star rating for this book is low but it fits how I feel the book was at for me. I love the breeds i have loved them since my first glimpse of Cabal St. Laurents in Coyotes Mate. Yes, I did read the books out of order but once I realized that they had an order I read Bengals Heart then read the books as I found them at the books store. So which ever was available at the time I read. Therefore, I never got the chance to read her much earlier books from Ellora's Cave. I had read all of her newest books first. Which brings me to my rating. I don't feel that this book is as great as her newer work which is good because it shows she is growing in writing. I felt that there was not enough story line besides the mating. Yes, I know the mating is extremely important because that's what ties our two main characters together. However, you really didn't get a sense at who was breaching the grounds and what they truly wanted. Did they want Merinus and Roni or did they just want one or the other? I got the meanign and the jist of the story but it didn't make me love the chracter's like I fellt for Cabal , Merc, and Cassie in the newest books.

Roni (Veronica) grew up learning how to fend for herself since her mother passed away and her dad was a deadbeat. Through most of her teen years there had always been one constant in her life Taber Matthews. Her knight and shining armor. The story starts off with a scene from for years prior to when the actual main story picks up. We get to see the attraction between the two and then bam something happens. Then picks up four years later when Merinus and Callan announce to the world about the breeds that had been created. Soon Roni is caught up with press and is swept away by the breeds and brought back to the mansion that they were given to by the government. As time goes by we learn new bits and pieces about what happened, how things happened and much more that would ruin the story if I just give it away.

Roni, I feel is headstrong, she can be smart but an idiot at the same time. As most breed mates feel she also feels. As if she has been forced with this heat. She wished that there was a cure to it all. You can tell she loves Taber but it takes her a long while to get over her past and move on with the present. Though she is selfless, she would give her life up for Merinus in a heart beat. This shows heart and courage since she hasn't know the woman long. All in all she is not that bad of a female just not my favorite :)!

Taber is an alpha male who likes things his way or no way. He will do anything in his power to have it his way. Even if it includes pissing off his mate Roni. I liked him because he put her first. Even if it means pissing her off and keeping her in the house.

I recommend this book because in order to get a feel for all the characters in a series where they are continuously popping up you must read all the books. Even if that includes the much earlier ones that are much harder and more expensive to find. Not to mention Mercury, Cabal, Tanner, Dawn, and Seth all make appearances this this book. Foreshadowing what books will be coming up in the future of the series!

Since I had a hard time with the audio, decided to go back to those ebooks that I love. This book is set around three months after the ending of Tempting the Beast and we see the Pride struggling to keep save and at the same time leave as normal as possible. We see some moments of dangerous scenes and it’s clear that not everything is smooth. The Council is still after Merinus and the babe and now the also want Rina. Nobody has a clue to why they are so set in those woman, but the only giving point is the fact these are the females mated to those Breeds.

We have also Tanner finding his lost mate. He had no idea that she was more than a girl he loved, but he marked and now the people know about everthing they do and it’s dangerous for Rina. Her father was a real ass and sold the news to a few newspapers and now she’s being haunted because of her connecting those two “animals”. I loved their problems, because not everything is so simple and we can clearly see that they are meant for each other, but some moments of the past changed their life. I loved this couple and now we have more felines, some dark and other more lethal.

Taber and Ronie have known each other since the day Taber saved her in the woods. From that day forth - Taber has been in Roni's thoughts = mind and soul. The Man within was a wonderfully Delivered story - of trust, love and friendship and of course meeting your mate for life.

Roni and Taber have always had the attraction for each other, until one day passion is let loose and Taber Marks Roni as his.

The same day Roni Receives a note telling her to move on and forget about him . COnfused and hurt Roni moves on best she can until one day her father notices the mark on her neck. Life will never be the same for Roni again !

She is taken into protective custody where she meets Taber again after 15 long months without him.

The man Within is filled with secerts, love, passion and lots of hot erotic encounters. Lora has no hesitation in any of the reads I have read so far with her vivid and descriptive scenes. This story I found had a lot more background information, giving the reader insight into past stories, and past happenings. I really enjoyed this one ! The chemistry between Taber and Roni was smokin, the love ** swoony ** and the sex scenes hot !! If your after an erotic read that will have you captivated from the very beginning to the end then this story is for you. QUiet easily read in one sitting and it will have you reaching for your reader in search of book three in this series. !

Smooth flowing storyline, with lots of action in and out of the bedroom, plot is defined well in this story and once again characters brought forth from previous stories.

A little added extra at the end I cant wait for Sheera's story - and also to find out more into the secrets in Roni's past.

Ever since she was a little girl, Roni has always been protected by her friend Taber. He has captured her heart. They are finally going to get together. Then he brushes her off and never wants to see her again. Her heart is shattered. They spend months apart, then the news of the Breeds gets released. She finds out that he is one. Her father finds out as well when he sees the mark on her neck. Her dad would do anything to sell her out, and he does. This throws Roni back into Taber's arms, and his kiss seals the deal. Even after months apart they are drawn to each other. They are in a mating frenzy, chemically drawn to each other. Nothing but pregnancy will make it stop.

This second book of the Breeds series felt a lot like rehashing the same things that happened in the first book. There was not much of a plot and the mating frenzy had already been the main event of book 1. There was the story line about Roni's father but even that I found weak. All that being said, I did find it hard to put the book down. I really do want to continue to read the series, I just hope that the other books have a bit more of a story to them.

Veronica "Roni" Andrews is only twenty-two to Taber William's thirty. But even more than the eight years difference in their ages, there was a whole world of experience as well. Taber had lived with fear, unspeakable cruelty and death, even before he had become a man. He had known the evil that filled the minds of the Council, the men who created him, who trained him. He had been decades older than she, even when he was a teenager. Taber is a genetic experiment conceived in a test tube, carried to term by a surrogate mother. He inherited the genes of the animal, a Jaguar, which his DNA had been altered with. But Roni knew her own experiences in growing up with her low-life father didn't even come close to the pain he had known. He has been rescuing her since she was eleven but now she must strong enough to stand by his side, strong enough to fight with him.

Callan Lyons and Merinus Tyler, from Tempting the Beast, returned now married and expecting. Other characters from the Tempting the Beast returns.

This book was a great follow-up to the first book. This book was a surprising change from the normal Lora Leigh books. At first I didn't think I would like the series but, I discovered similar themes to the cancelled TV series, Dark Angel - and I loved that series.

There are a lot of books in this series:
Tempting the Beast - Callan Lyons and Merinus Tyler
The Man Within - Taber Williams and Roni Andrews
Elizabeth's Wolf (Wolf Breeds, Book 4) - Dash Sinclair and Elizabeth
Kiss of Heat (Feline Breeds, Book 3) - Sherra Lyons and Kane Tyler
Soul Deep (Coyote Breeds, Book 1) - Kiowa and Amanda
Hot Spell (The Breed Next Door) - Tarek Jordan and Lyra Mason
Megan's Mark (The Breeds, Book 1) - Braden Arness and Megan Marks

This is the second book in the Feline Breed by Lora Leigh and it's roarin' hot!

Roni is in love with Taber, who is one of the genetically altered Feline Breeds. The world has just found out about the "cats" (and other breeds)and Roni realizes the "mark" she carries on her neck, left by Taber 15 months ago, links her to him, she is his Mate. Trouble is, Roni believes Taber left her because she wasn't "woman enough" for him. How can he want her now, when he didn't want her then?

There are a lot of hurt feelings on both parts, things that each one believes to be the truth, is actually far from it. But love and fate have a way of bringing together those that are destined to be together.

The kiss that seals Roni to Taber (through the hormones he delivers to her body), leads to Roni going into "Heat", and well.. let the fun begin!

We see a lot of our favorite characters from the last book all throughout this installment. Which I was really happy about. I get "attached" to characters and hate to "close the book" on them with them never to be heard from again. Lora Leigh makes sure the ones you love are still around, even in "supporting roles".

This is another HOT installment and as I warned in my previous review: The Man Within contains extremely sexual situations and extremely explicit language which some readers may find offensive.

Lora Leigh's Feline Breeds series continues with The Man Within. Taber, a genetically modified male, takes off one night, trying to blow off some aggression. Instead he finds a little girl, lost and alone in the woods, and he knew he had found something special. Under his watchful, protective eye, Roni blossomed into a sensual, fascinating young woman that Taber was determined to keep away from, just as his animal side craved more. Finally giving in to the inevitable, he accepts Roni's declarations of love and marks her as his own. Unfortunately, a traitor within his family rips them apart and the pain of their separation keeps this mated couple forever in need. Taber was determined this time to stay away from Roni, but when news of her 'mating mark' is revealed on national television and she comes under the scrutiny of the Council, his animal DNA comes roaring to life and he takes what should have been his over a year ago. He completes the mating ritual and enfolds Roni into the Pride, determined to subdue this little wildcat once and for all. His dominating presence is not enough to bring her to her knees however, because this time, Roni is going to settle for nothing less than his heart and his soul.

Taber and Roni was an excellent pairing of personalities. Both had a dominating presence and both knew betrayal from those closest to them. Taber's need to dominate Roni into submission was met with equal ferocity by her. She stood up to him and didn't let him bully her. Roni knows she's going to submit to him but she's also going to make him work for each and every inch she allows him to make. She taunts Taber and when he answers her challenge, it is delicious! The worldbuilding of the Feline Breeds is tighter than Tempting The Beast and since a lot of it was already in place, it allowed for Lora Leigh to introduce more characters. While Taber and Roni are still the central characters of this book, Lora Leighs allows for a broader view of the Breeds and their world which is very enjoyable. It made everything seem richer and more fleshed out.

The sex in this story was also a lot better than Tempting The Beast as well. Some of the descriptive passages are toned down, while still being erotic and scorching. We just lost some of the squishiness that I felt held a little too much information. I highly recommend The Man Within as one heck of a steamy read and a fine addition to the Feline Breeds series.

Lora Leigh manages to hit it out of the ballpark again! Fantastic characterizations - everything you want including an alpha male and a female who's not afraid to stand up to him. Taber's strong and Roni is willful - together the combo is flaming!

The theme's and sub-plots running through the books mean you should probably read them in some semblence of order. I read one in an anthology that takes place later and had some confusion so I recommend reading in the order the author has on her website. Yes there are consistency issues -but I have no problem getting past them for the most part.

Her word building is fabulous and you get to know all the characters well. Plus this is one author who understands the difference between a hot sex scene and a flaming hot sexy scene that will make you moan and groan. This is what continually impresses me - not many authors can so seamlessly interweave sex and plot like this one can. Usually you get one that's great at the expense of the other - not so here - both will knock your socks off!

I am positively addicted to this series - these are keepers completely - begging to be re read immediately upon completion just for sheer enjoyment alone. THE best of the BEST!

A follow up to TEMPTING THE BEAST, this is the story of Taber, part of the Pride that consists of genetically engineered humans created to be killing machines.

Ever since she was a child, it seemed that trouble seemed to find her more often than not. Always in the midst of a drama, he had always bailed her out that Roni sometimes worry that she may not survive without him. For her, he is the ultimate knight in shining armor, always ready to rescue the damsel in distress whom, at twenty-two, is wishing for more: for him to see her as a woman all grown-up.

From the time he found her in distress when she was a mere child, Taber has watched over her safety. But as the child grows into a beautiful woman, there is no denying the attraction he feels for her. Yet jealousy will drive them apart when both were led to believe that they wanted nothing from each other - but this happens after it is too late and Taber has already marked Roni. Years later, when news broke that Roni carries the mark of a Feline Breed mate, Taber knows that her life is in its gravest danger, and regardless of their bitter separation, he must come to her rescue and claim her as his mate. And now that they are reunited, both will suffer the physical and emotional torment that comes with their mating.

THE MAN WITHIN is the second book in Lora Leigh's popular Feline Breed series. If I thought the first book was great, this novel definitely surpassed my expectations. The characterization, engaging plot, erotic scenes and the humor had me glued from the start. Although this is only my second book, I already know that Leigh has a real knack for creating vivid characters that draw you into their world. Not only would you care for the main characters, but also for the people around them whose lives you'd want to get to know more. Pick up one of Leigh's books and I guarantee that you won't regret it.

Fifteen months ago Roni (a human) and Taber (a breed) had an incredibly intense encounter where Taber unknowingly marked Roni as his mate and then deceit and lies drove them apart. Roni received a letter from Taber stating she was not woman enough for him and Taber receives a letter from Roni stating that he is too rough for her. Since then Roni has stayed away from Taber and Taber has steered clear of Roni, even though their bodies cry out for each other.
When news breaks of possible mating marks between breeds Roni realizes that is exactly what is on her shoulder and is determined that no one find out. When her deceitful father sells the information she is attacked on camera and the world sees her mark, including Taber.
When Taber witnesses Roni being roughed up on camera he moves into action. He is going to go and get his mate whether she likes it or not. But this time he is determined to keep his lust and passion on a leash so she will no longer think he is too rough for her. But his control is even weaker, the first thing he does when he catches her is push her against a tree and kiss her, releasing the hormone that triggers her intense sexual hunger...then its just a matter of time. What Taber does not realize is that Roni loves his animal urges and is determined to get him to lose control so he realizes that she is woman enough for him. When Taber does let go of his restraint, can Roni handle his urges? What will happen when they learn the letters they received were forged? Will Roni's deranged father lead the Counsil members to them? Read this book and find out.

Once again Lora Leigh has written a truly memorable tale with this book. Taber is a domineering alpha and Roni is a spunky female that is determined to give as good as she gets. The pages practically sizzle with the lust and passion on the pages and the story draws you in with a compelling plot and believable characters. I like the fact that you do not have to read the books in order to enjoy the story. As a huge fan of Lora Leigh books I can say this is one of her better tales. I highly recommend this book and will be reading more of this author.

Kudos Lora, keep the breed books coming.

Roni knew no matter what happened in her life she could count on Taber. And after many years Taber and Roni finally decide to move their relationship forward. Till letters separate them. Fifteen months later Taber and Roni are reunited and the Mating frenzy begins. As Taber and Roni grow closer together they will learn that someone close to Taber wanted them apart and that they will have to trust each other and move on and Taber will have to keep Roni safe from a threat that wants to take Roni. This is book two of the Feline breed series and I really liked this one. This was the first book in the Breed series I heard about and I was instantly drawn to the story of friends who wanted more. Taber was a fantastic hero(I think I liked him more than book one's hero) and Roni was a lot more likable than book one's heroine. This series is moving forward in a direction that makes me excited to see where it goes.

FELINE BREEDS 2: THE MAN WITHIN by Lora Leigh is a very sexual, very steamy romance about a genetically engineered man who is part panther and the woman who leaves behind everything to love him. I rather enjoyed this short erotic novel. It is a fast read with an interesting plot and characters who catch your interest. Taber is all alpha male, and his cat features are fascinating, especially his purr. Roni has loved him since she was a child, but his betrayal destroyed her, and so she wants nothing to do with him. However, they are destined to be mates, and she goes into heat, ensuring she can't resist him.

My only negative is that the book would have benefited from an editor. Aside from the random grammatical error, a few choice words are repeated every other page nonstop (including "f*ck," "p*ssy," and "womb"), but that isn't so bad. What I found distracting is that in the prologue, Roni is 22 years old. Three years (and 14 chapters) later, she's still 22 years old. That's a pretty good trick. I wish I could accomplish that.

Anyway, to better understand THE MAN WITHIN, I'd suggest reading the first book in the series, called FELINE BREEDS 1: TAMING THE BEAST. In my opinion, the first book is crude and raunchy, but it explains the plotline and how Taber, etc. came to be genetically engineered. I found the love scenes in the second book, THE MAN WITHIN, to be a lot more yummy and the relationship a lot more emotional. The next book is called FELINE BREEDS 3: KISS OF HEAT, which I'm actually looking forward to reading.

Just when I thought I'd read it all or that I'd read as far as Lora Leigh could go, she goes and does it again for me. We like it hot (if we're reading erotica) and she provides just the right amount of spice to kick that hot into overdrive. Watch out and prepare to dial 911 when you read this one.

Veronica Andrews has had feelings for Taber ever since he found her in the woods, escaping into herself to avoid her less than ideal life with her deadbeat dad. Since then she has idealzed Taber and eventually grown to love him. He gets her out of many scrapes as she grows up, never letting on to her that he feels the same. Until one fateful day when their feelings cannot be contained any longer. Roni confronts Taber about his being one of the now famous Breeds that are all over the news. When their feelings get out of control, Taber backs off, promising to come for her later only to never return. Three years later Roni is yanked into the public limelight when her father tips off the media about her past relationship with Taber. Accosted by the media crawling through her hometown, she has no choice but to run - straight to Taber. He rescues her, taking her back to the Breed compound where they can be safe, or so they think. Despite the massive public support for them, there are small groups clanging for their demise and the ever persistent Genetics Council is still determined to reclaim their experiments. As the animal lust rages through both Taber and Roni, they along with th rest of the feline Breeds must continue to find a way to survive in a world that both loves and hates them.

Lora Leigh has produced another set of lead characters that practically flame right off the pages. Roni is understandably mad at Taber for what she considers abandonment years ago, while Taber's true animal nature comes screaming to the foreground, insisting that Roni is his mate and therefore his to claim as he will. It doesn't take long for Roni to come around again to her deep feelings for Taber and they begin to work together to keep eachother as well as the other Breeds alive. There's no hope for it now. Must read all the other Breed books pronto! I couldn't get enough of Taber and Roni knew just how to tame her wild man. I just hope that the rest of Leigh's Breed characters are as hot and yummy to read about as her first two heros. If you haven't read the first bok, Tempting the Beast, do read it first to clear up the mystery of the genetics council and who the Breeds are. Don't worry, it's worth it!

I enjoyed how the hero and heroine had a relationship built over time. I also very much liked that Roni was a strong heroine. This made for a fast paced read. While the plot was easily predictable it still flowed well. Perfect for a quick read. It was mostly a lot of sex, and the plot definitely could have had more depth. My biggest complaint on this is the price. $8.09 for 242 pages. OUCH!!!! Well that and the cover for this book is pretty lame, the "tarzan" appearance just isn’t working. It does no justice for the read.

Roni has been in love with Taber since she was a little girl. She has struggled to survive living with a father who is never home, and only cared about himself. Roni is older now and can not seem to stay out of trouble. Taber is always there to her rescue. With every encounter their lust for each other, grows stronger, deeper.

Taber is a genetically altered Feline Breeds, with many of the attributes of a large jungle cat. His protective nature towards Roni is only strengthened, when he finally marks her as his mate. Taber and Roni become estranged and do not see each other for fifteen months. They will come together when Roni's mark is revealed on national TV. Taber now, must claim his mate and bond her to him forever.

"The Man Within: Feline Breeds 2" is Lora Leigh's second book in this prrr..fectly mastered Feline series. As you can see by the title it is the second of a series that, with each flip of a page, will amerce you body and soul. This book is highly erotic. Days later, I can still feel the heat emanating off me whenever I recall the provocative dialogue between Taber and Roni. Taber is so alpha, the air around him crackles with his larger than life ego. With his animalistic urges so close to the surface, he radiates heat and sex. Roni must learn to tame the beast within Taber. When Roni finally quiets Taber's demons, she herself, finds peace. Lora Leigh's talent, and consistent ability to write one great story after another, has put her at the top of her field in erotic romance. You will never be disappointed when you picked up one of Lora Leigh's books, and they, along with The Man Within: Feline Breeds 2, are sure to be your favorites.

I don't have a lot ot say on this book other than I liked it more than I did the first book of the series (Tempting The Beast). The heorine for this story was a better character. She was actually a strong female vs. Merinus from the last bok who was just a brat with a potty mouth. (In fact I found myself wishing Merinus out of every scene she was in for this book, that's how much I disliked her in the last book.)

I think that this is a series that will build with each book getting better and better with more detail as we go along the way as the ideas develop.

Not the best world building series I have read, but there is a lot of potential here for this to be a great series in later books. I am looking forward to catching up and reading them all.

Tabor and Roni's story is off the hook! Roni and Taber is the newest Breed couple hit with the mating frenzy. It makes Tabor all he man and Roni strong and fiesty. One of the most memorable lines for me was when Roni demanded Taber to tell her what gave him the right to allow her to do something. Taber response is truly the tone for the whole book...."When I took you to the floor and mounted you, I took the right to protect you as well. Mate."

Although you can read this book out of the series order, I highly recommend reading Callan's story first in Tempting the Beast and segue into this one.

The erotic scenes involves [...] - so if this makes you blush.
And the romance scenes are so compassionate. I especially appreciate how Leigh brings up other characters from other books in this series which gives you the sense of really being a part of their family and their world... also you are hooked in reading their story as well.

Roni has loved Taber since she was in her teens. She has put her mind to getting what she wants, Taber. Only Taber tries to stay away from her since the "mating mark" has become public. He had marked her before and that mark binds you for life, along with the hormone that gets into your system. He does not think he is for her and wants her to have a life out of danger from the council or mercenaries.

She realizes now that she wants him very bad. Her father however is on the other side (which she could do without him anyway). He has mistreated her since day one. He finds the mark on his daughter and thinks he can get money from council if he turns her in. Do you really think Taber is going to let him do that?

This book is yet another hot, sexy, steamy read. Can't wait to read the next and then the next, etc. Love this series!!!

This book was amazing. I could not put the book down. They story and its characters were great. I laughed and cried while I was reading the book. I can't wait until the third book comes out. I hope that she writes a story for each of the characters that are in the book. Thank you for writing these books.

I`ve read alot of Lora`s newer books and I love them all. She never leaves you hanging but I was a little disapointed that she didn`t finish the story with Roni`s dad. But I still enjoyed the story of Roni and Taber.

This is a wonderful book! You can't go wrong with a Lora Leigh book! I have never had one of her books that I didn't read over and over. I have this book in several forms and have read it over 5 times. Lora Leigh's books almost always have a strong alpha male type with a sassy/head strong female. FUN! Give it a try you'll love it!!!

Lora Leighs' Breed is one of those series that once you start reading you just can't stop!! Even though the series is a continuation each books characters are to masterfully written that you care about each & every one & can't wait for the next one. This is one of the most imaginative series of books to come along, not to mention HOT! Lora Leigh is on par with authors like Laurell K. Hamiltion, Christine Feehan, Kate Douglas & others. Her books are keepers!!

The Feline Breeds continue to keep me captivated with their stories of love. These books border on eroticism and you just can't seem to be able to put thenm down until the end. I can only anticipate that the 3 in line of the Feline Breeds novels will be as captivating as the first 2.

This book is every bit as good as the first with the added bonus of a little more romance!

A lot of the complaints about the first was that there was more sex than anything else. This book gives you more of a chance to learn about the main characters history together. Yes, they actually have a history and relationship before the sex starts. You can actually believe that they love each other and it just isn't about the heat.

For those that love these books because of the hot sex, naughty language, and alpha males, be assured that those traits continue!

The only reason I haven't given these books five stars is because I think the author needs to give a little more information on the breeds, labs, etc. I have hope though because it seems as if this book was a little more detailed then the last. Another thing that I can not get past is the cover - it does not do it for me!

Taber and Roni have such a rocky start to their relationship, especially since not much is known about mating heat. There is no way to stop the agonizing pain of desire. This book is full of exciting adventure, yet leaves questions unanswered. I really am looking to to reading more about the breeds and hoping to find the answers this story has left me wanting to know to the questions I have.

Loved this book the second time around!! Roni and Tabor are one of my fav breed couples. The re-release of this book had me so excited for it again. I’m not quite sure anything was different though. Also I don’t remember this book being so short. Can’t wait for Cassie’s book.
