Big tough Sheriff aboard a space ship named Pilgrim shoots up aliens who, somehow, have invaded the ship and have been living aboard it for 400 years with no food nor water. Right. Reminds me of a western: passengers are like settlers, aliens are like Native Americans, we needs the big bad Sheriff to protect us! It is not hard sci-fi, it is simply implausible.

This book is packed with it all. Space ships, Aliens, dystopian society, murder, mystery and a sprinkle of romance. I read books 1 and 2 in less than 12 hours. I couldn’t put them down! MR Forbes kept me guessing.

Very well thought out and well written. Enough description to experience the ins and outs of the story. Lost a star for the story continually growing in content (perhaps personal opinion, there are many more questions by the end than answers)

A fantastic story I couldn't stop reading. A few spelling errors here and there, but nothing to cry about.

Well worth the read, this will definitely be on my recommendation list for sci-fi novels.

Another well executed character driven story by M.R. Forbes.
Enter another rollercoaster ride, following Hayden's desperate search to find his missing wife. The secrets he discovers that have been forgotten.
I could not put this book down. I want to follow Hayden on his quest to find his wife, Natalia.

Good sci-fi but I would like to see more character development
as well as geopolitical and historical insights.
These books could really be very illuminating to our current problem of living with a clown in chief.

Once this book starts, it doesn’t stop. There wasn’t a slow point at all through the entire book which made it a quick read. Definitely some twists and turns along the way that made me hold on tighter.

The book started off slow but once it got interesting I couldn't stop reading. I enjoyed the slow start because it prepared you for what was coming. I enjoyed every bit of this book and can't wait to start the second book.

Holy cow this book had me hooked!! I could not set it down. I had to sneak in a few pages while on break at work. All I could think each time was "...and then what else happens??!!!" Loved this book!!!

Forgotten is a well-written and interesting sci-fi book. Unfortunately, I have one major problem with it. I at least dislike, if not outright hate, the MC (Main Character). The more I read, the more I disagreed with the MC's actions and the less I enjoyed Forgotten. By the end of the book I was glad I was finished. I realize other people may enjoy Forgotten but for me personally, I regret reading it.

Excellent story! This book is very well-written. The characters are incredibly believable, the world building is superb, and the story is so rich! It's very fast paced and sucks you right in. I loved every page, except for the cliffhanger! But boy, what a twist!

This was a great story. Different from most other plots, it twists and turns, becoming different as the plot moves along. Held my breath so many times as they moved from one crisis to another. Realistic, and engaging characters. Bad guys, some who are worse than others. Aliens...or maybe not. And an undying love that won't stop. What isn't there to like? Can't wait for the next one.

(Kindle Unlimited.) Just finished and was that a twist in the story! I never would have seen that coming so I've increased the star rating from 4 to a 5 which also allows for a missed few editorial errors. Looking forward to immediately commencing book 2 in the series which is one of the advantages of having a subscription to Kindle Unlimited.

Okay, this was a lot of fun. Plots, dangers, and surprises. The world in which the author writes has so much detail and potential that you wish they'd taken the time to dwell on it a bit more... and hadn't ended on a cliffhanger.

The book starts off well, with a fairly mundane pace, that rapidly begins to accelerate as you get further in. Normally, the frenetic pace wouldn't have been that enjoyable, as the author presents you with a whirlwind of surprises after surprises. I'm surprised at myself that I enjoyed the twists so much rather than feeling like I was experiencing plot-whiplash as you might expect.

The most clear downside is that it ends on a cliffhanger, which is terribly frustrating--not that it stopped me from immediately ordering the next two books. But understand that IF YOU ENJOY THIS you'll need to buy the next for closure. Other downsides include the one-dimensionalness of the characters other than the protagonist. Most seem to be throw-away personalities to add to the drama or to provide a focus for the protagonist, but are in themselves unimportant (red-shirt warning). There's some minor moral-play (loved ones vs the many and such) and the tone can be a bit bleak, but the motivations are human and relatable.

Fast paced with plenty of action and twists. Very few editing errors (a couple wrong words in places). I gave four stars instead of five because of the cliffhanger. I felt like I'd run a marathon and then was stopped dead cold.

This book almost got into the action right away. The beginning was really mysterious but as I kept reading I disagree with the reviewers who said the writing was childlike or full of cliffhangers. The rationales for many things that happen in this book make a lot of sense.

This isn't like the Walking Dead. If you are expecting space battles this isn't that kind of book, but the action and story are very unique and good. I liked the ending and it left me wanting to read more. I felt like I was with the main character, and at times I asked "why did they do that?! Noooo!"

I normally don't do the sci-fi genre, but this author has me hooked. Different from everything else I read, this has a really good storyline.
Have you ever imagined a new planet & traveling numerous miles to get there? Years even? A town full of people on the biggest spaceship ever built.
Aliens have almost taken over earth. This is the last best hope for humanity to survive. The Sherriff & his wife are the main characters, defined nicely. There's a kidnapping, aliens, & things that do go bump in the night. Lots of action, sudden appearances of people no one knows & of course, no aliens were left behind. The biggest surprise is mind boggling! Can't wait to pick up the next book in the series!
Very well done Mr. Forbes ...?

The characters are believable to the point that you feel like you've met them some how. Forbes captures them perfectly, their frustrations, desperation, contempt, hope... you feel it with them.
The setting combines the claustrophobia of a the low rise "projects" in city that hasn't aged well, and dystopian space stations from 80's and 90's era science fiction. I truly enjoyed it because every time you come to a turning point in the story it doesn't go the direction you expect, at all. Forbes pulls off the unexpected without becoming absurd, I never had to suspend my disbelief to enjoy the story.
