Sometimes I think it's hard to find a book with a good balance of suspense and romance, but for me this one did. It grabbed me from the beginning and held my interest all the way to the end. First time reader of this author, won't be my last.

What a story!!! This book had me gripped from the very beginning until the very last page. The suspense and drama in this book was outstanding and I couldn't put it down until it was over. This book drew me in and kept me there and I loved every minute of it. This was one of the best written books I've read and I wish I could give it more than 5 stars because it really deserves more. This book has it all drama, suspense, romance, danger, and for me that makes a great book. I can't wait to read the next book in this awesome series!!!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I'm looking forward to other books by this author. I was on edge at some parts during the story. Any book that can cause me to react in such a way deserves a high rating.

Extremely well written and edited stand-alone story.

This was an extremely suspenseful, sexy, dark story that kept me guessing until the very end of the book. I wasn't really guessing about the killer, more about all how the other subplots would be resolved and what choices everyone would make.

All the characters are smart, professional, conflicted, damaged people who have serious trust issues -- which makes all the interactions fraught with tension. This was a very complex plot that was expertly handled.

This book kept me turning the pages and the main characters were real and down to earth. I was pulled into the story and found myself wanting them to find the bad guy and end up together. I just really enjoyed the story.

The characters are somewhat predictable but overall it's an interesting and well written story. Not the most compelling of page turners and not my favorite book of the year; but not a waste of my time either.

For the most part, a good book. I do wish writers would spend more time with the plot and not torrid sex description.
There are several major flaws in the narrative that don't work.
By the way, Americans never call athletic shoes trainers.

I like her characters and it had a good plot. However, I've never cared for an on and on description of a couple having sex. For me it breaks the pace of the story and I've never considered sex a spectator sport. When I ordered this book I also ordered her next book at the same time. One good think about reading on a Kindle, it is easy to skip over any part by just clicking.

I gave "A Cold Dark Place" only 3 stars, because I had mixed feelings about the book. I basically enjoyed the plot and the main characters, but felt there was a lot of repetition which became uninteresting after a while. I also felt the chemistry between the main characters became exaggerated and overdone . More plot and less sex scenes would have made the story more interesting.

Alrhough a good story. ..I felt it was diluted with way to many pages of intimacy.way to often and I found myself skipping those pages so I could get back to the story. ...if I wanted that sort of a book I would have gone for r50 shades if grey. I purchased the book as I enjoy a good mystery which the book had...however the latter killed it for me.

Enjoyable mystery with a lot of snark. Interesting characters, fun dialogue and easy to follow story line.

Snark examples:

"Tall and blond, Supervisory Special Agent Danbridge put the ‘bitch’ in ambitious."

“He used to travel between cities on the Greyhound bus, which is not the mark of a successful businessman."

I will re-read this story and look forward to other works by this author.

I'll begin by saying I'm bailing on this book at about 50% read. It seems to be written with the mantra never let a plot get in the way of sex. If you like that kind of book then you'll probably enjoy it. If you'd like the plot to move on at a faster pace without constant interruptions for rutting and overworked gonads this is not the book for you.

If you like detailed descriptions of sex with a thriller in the background, rather poorly written with a tendency to be repetitive then this is the book for you. Despite the rather slick, but horribly gruesome way Anderson ties the ends together I cannot recommend this book.

With an extremely creepy and sadistic serial killer, a hero who is really a deadly assassin, and a rookie FBI agent who is tracking the man who stole her twin sister years ago, what more could a book need? I really liked Alex and thought he made an excellent anti-hero. His relationship with Mallory was so unexpected for both of them, but the connection ran deep. The book kept a good place and kept me guessing the killer's identity all the way up to the end. I worried throughout the book about how things could possibly resolve in a way that would keep the couple together, but I needn't have stressed. The author did a great job of resolving things in the end in an unexpected but awesome way. I'm sure I will be checking out the next book in this series.
