This book really touched me. The power of God is in our hands...but we need to have the right tools and ask the right questions and also have faith.
As a life long member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints I know that we can create opportunities to testify of the savior as we follow the examples found in this book. If you are not a member and would like to know more--ask the missionaries or a friend. Don't look online for the answers to joe questions.
This is an inspired book of how to unlock the keys of missionary work in out everyday life.

This book is powerfully motivating. The author does a great job teaching sound missionary practices and then illustrating his points with experiences. The story of the branch in Maine towards the end of the book brought me to tears. I recommend this book to all.

Brother Christiansen summarizes and teaches so well the underlying principles for successful member missionary work. I appreciate his very unabashed and case study-like approach to understanding the Lord's method of sharing the gospel. The House of God is a House of Order, this principle describes aptly Bro. Christiansen's analysis and presentation of the principles contained in this book.

It's also a pretty quick read, but like any good book, worth reading again and again.

I originally purchased this book on my kindle due to being set apart as the ward mission leader in the Kamas 4th ward in Kamas, Utah. Wanting to learn as much as possible as fast as possible about my new calling. Never being a missionary before, I found out quickly that this book related more to me than I could ever realize. It has truly been a testimony builder and I have and will continue to recommend this book to everyone that crosses my path. Thank you so much for your inspired writings.

I'm blown away by the brilliance of this book. I am now beginning to understand how I and others can share the gospel more effectively. The principles also have helped me understand how to come closer to Christ. This is a remarkable book that I'm going to share with many, many others (I serve as a bishop, and this book has helped me and will help my ward directly and indirectly)·

This book coupled with an active desire to serve The Lord has enabled me to become more anxiously engaged in missionary work. Christensen puts things into a perspective that should be readily had by all disciples of Christ. I love this book - it's my second time through and I plan to read it as many more times as it takes to implement the principles into my everyday life.

Powerful stories interweaved with true doctrines and examples from the Gospel of Jesus Christ provide a practical framework to boost the spread of the love of our Savior. Truly every person blessed with the knowledge of their Savior has the solemn opportunity to share that love and faith with others. This book provides many useful ways and approaches to realize our potential as missionaries.

This is the best book I've ever read on missionary work. Clayton M. Christensen is truly a gifted teacher who combines both personal experiences with eternal principles. I'm ready and excited to apply the principles I've learned!

This book lays out very clearly the simple steps that can be taken to share my faith and service opportunities with those around me. The examples are fun to read and helped me realize that I'm making things more complicated than they need to be. I first bought and read it in the kindle version, but just added the paperback to my collection so that I can pass it around as I tell people about it.

Clayton's writing is easy to read and his perspective after years of trial, error and observation is so helpful. Despite the truths in this book, I can't read or listen to Clay without being reminded how critically important it is to learn to continually ask good questions. Perhaps his next book will be titled, "Ask and ye shall receive."

I loved this book. It debunks all the obstacles and hesitations to sharing a cherished possession, our understanding of God and his plan for us. I loved his personal examples. It should be required reading for every latter day saint.

This is a simple, straightforward and honest method to sharing a great message. The best part is that it takes away and debunks the fear often associated with approaching people you would love to share this message and have them elevate their life to a whole new level. I highly recommend this book!

Clay has written in a simple and concise manner on how to be an Everyday Missionary. The principles are clear and well-illustrated with real life stories. It's great for anyone who feels "un-natural" to outreach. Will apply these principles.

I tried to give it five stars, by clicking on each star, but your program closed and tallied, after I clicked on the first star, so that one star rating of mine is faulty.I liked the book because it gives such common sense ideas for inviting people to come and see for themselves the truths of Jesus' teachings as they have been restored in these present days The book is an easy read since the author presents his material in simple logical steps.
I had read a borrowed copy the book, in print form, but decided to buy a digital copy of the book to down load into my Kindle Fire to have as a reference.

I have often thought about how to be a better missionary. After reading this book, I realized that I have been overcomplicating things. Becoming an effective missionary is easier than I thought. The insights shared by Elder Christensen are simple, yet powerful and can be applied by anyone. For the first time in years, instead of fear or hesitation, I feel excited to do my part to share the gospel. I am not one to recommend books, but I wholeheartedly recommend this one.

I like the message, but some of his sentences take up whole paragraphs. I feel winded on those long runs. In fact, I sometimes have to go back and re-write & shorten sentences in my mind to see what he said.

I served a full-time mission and have been active ever since. However, this book had me thinking about missionary work in a way I never had before. I can't recommend it highly enough. I'm now praying for opportunities to put these principles into practice. If just one person in every ward or branch in the Church read this book and followed its precepts, the Church would be changed forever.

Clay Christensen is brilliant. I wish my mind processed data like his does. The Power of Everyday Missionaries is a thorough analysis of how we can be better missionaries and emissaries of The Lord, all based on Clay's personal experiences and of those close to him. The stories are inspiring and may encourage you to consider your role as a missionary a bit differently.

I know the Gospel of Jesus Christ to be true, and it has brought great joy and general utility to my life. If I focus on ways to share that simple message, with no hidden agendas, I know The Lord will trust me enough to lead those who are seeking for Truth into my life.

I believe these ideas are long overdue. Here, the spreading of the gospel has been put in real, everyday terms in circumstances we all encounter on a daily basis. It doesn't necessarily challenge the old paradigms that have never really worked, it replaces them with truth and reality. As I incoroporate these ideas I know I will become the member-missionary the Lord has called me to be.

Non-threatening way to begin gospel conversations and gain understanding of what people believe and what answers they are seeking in their lives that their church can't answer. We've had some great gospel discussions using these questions.

I have been profoundly touched by the insights in this book about how to do missionary work. It is the paradigm shift I needed. I love how Brother Christensen defines success as a member missionary. It is NOT just another book about missionary work--this book will change your perspective and fill you with desire and ideas on how to be the missionary we all want to be.

This volume is the finest book I have ever read about the how to share the gospel. As I read the book the Spirit testified of the truthfulness of each principle taught. Three times yesterday I had the opportunity to share the gospel and each was a spiritual experience. It was as if the Lord placed the people into my path so that I could help them learn about the gospel. I am so grateful for what I have learned from the book.

This book was amazing and testimony building. Many of the concepts I have learned, working with great missionaries, are captured in this book. I have a love and respect for the author in putting forth this good work. The inspiration and direction to receive revelation, and to go about the Lords work, is fantastic. May we all asked inspired questions as the book directs, with the intent to act on the answers, that the Lord may truely bring forth miracles.

How do we do all of the things related to sharing the gospel in the world today and do so with others in mind and not just out of duty? This book is full of gems from a very genuine man who wants to share his experiences and ideas, both good and bad, in order to help all of his brothers and sisters prepare for a glorious second coming of our Savior.
The examples and recommendations relate to "Preach My Gospel" as well as the new "Come, Follow Me" and show us the gospel in action. I especially like the discussion about asking others for help and helping them to be involved in the good works that we all crave to be a part of.
Definitely a 'study and reread' book for everyday inspiration, mission leaders, and family study.

The Power of Everyday Missionaries showcases Christensen's excellent interpersonal, management, and writing skills as he applies them to sharing his Mormon faith. Reading it was a real eye-opener for me on how to honestly and openly share values-based views in professional situations without offending people. If everyone used Clayton's approach, we'd all understand each other better. The only reason I didn't give it five stars was because it was all text; pull-out quotes, explanatory photos, and descriptive graphs would have made his main points easier to grasp.

I always enjoy books by Clay Christensen. There were several elements in this book I have found that apply to other areas of my life in addition to my Gospel sharing efforts. Upon reflection, I find for me, linkage (blessings) that come from practicing these principles as a general course of behavior. The plan of salvation, which is the Gospel, is a great framework for helping us return to live with God. It brings happiness to my life, but sometimes I find it challenging to share. This book is a great start for me, and helps me better understand that through personal pursuit, I can be more effective for The Lord. But I cant wait to be called, I need to self-start it. There are great examples in this book that teach its not always about pushing doctrine. In fact, I think I learned that's the least effective method for introducing the gospel. I'm grateful for the things I became more aware of as a result of reading this book.

Dr Christensen has, through writing of his personal experiences and insights, provided motivation for us all to share that that is most precious to us. His kind and insightful style is loving and inspiring. I love missionary stories because they illustrate the many ways that the Gospel of Jesus Christ can touch and change peoples lives for the better. This is a must read.

I am a bishop of an inner city ward with lots of "less active" members. One our major goals is to reactivate these members. I believe the principles of this book will help our ward members to seek out and find those who have been lost over the years. My Stake President recommended that all of us bishop 's read this book. I am glad that I have done so and will apply what I have learned to my stewardship. Thank you Bro. Christensen for writing this book.

Helped me have a different perspective on sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with others. I don't need to be afraid and I can bring the gospel and its blessings up in my everyday conversations. The "doing it everyday" is how I invite the power into my life. My husband loves it too. I have the Kindle edition and he keeps borrowing my Kindle. Good thing we can have multiple bookmarks.

I am one of those who are uncomfortable bringing up the Gospel to nonmembers - that is until I read this book. My eyes were opened and my vision broadened. My discomfort was based on a very narrow view of what missionary work is all about. Elder Christensen provides simple, non-threatening, approaches to discussing the Gospel with anyone I meet - whether I met them before or not. This should be required reading for all members of the Church.

Almost every calling in the Church has a manual on how to succeed in that calling. Member missionary? Not so much. We're told to do it, but little is written on how to do it successfully in the 21st century.

This is where this book comes in. We all know we need to be better at missionary work, and most of us want to do better. This book teaches those of us who want to do better and but are uncomfortable with how to part.

I enjoy Brother Christensen's style of writing - engaging and practical.

This a very clear way to explain what sharing the gospel is all about: sharing it by inviting in a natural way. The adversary fights hard so inviting others to a path of discipleship and clear answers on the purpose of life... may become uncomfortable and offensive. That's just not true. When inviting, from heart to heart under the influence of the spirit we cannot offend others, they cannot be offended (unless possessed by a negative spirit). Brilliant as usual Brother Clayton Christensen. I have heard him several times speaking in life and I have met him personally. You will find very few people as humble and yet smart in this world. He is truly a disciple of Christ. The principles shared in his book are also available in video: https://www.youtube.com/user/EverydayMissionaries/videos Blessings to all!

This is a great book for sharing your beliefs with your friends and neighbors in a non-threatening way. The writing style is easy to read. The author shares several stories on how he has shared his beliefs with his friends and neighbors. The central message in the book is to be genuinely friendly and invite you friends and neighbors to participate in the everyday events of your own life. I highly recommend this book to anyone.

This book lives up to title and subtext. The Savior told Peter: When thou art converted strengthen your brethren for Satan desires to have thee...
Everyone (I am mean from all cultures and faiths) who desires to have a personal witness that the Gospel has been restored as it has been in all dispensations from Adam till this last dispensation will gain a witness that the Book of Mormon is a true book and a second witness with the Old and New Testament that Jesus is the Christ. This easy read will change the reader, and their community by applying the teachings of this small book in the ward council and family council and personal study and prayer and in living the Golden rule. Of loving our neighbors as ourselves. Everyone over 8 years old should read this book.

As a returned missionary it was hard for me to be successful as a member missionary. This book helped to learn how to be an effective member missionary through the guidance of the spirit. It is very well written and really helped me to see how important member missionary work is and how easy it can be. I like this book because the author is very clear and motivating in his writing. I didn't ever get bored and I never felt like I was wasting my time by reading it. Clayton M. Christensen says in the book "We will become more successful in our callings and in our personal efforts to become pure disciples of Christ when sharing the gospel becomes part of all that we do." This is one of the best missionary books out there and will help all members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints become better missionaries.

The Power of Everyday Missionaries is an incredible book. It speaks very boldly and plainly about sharing the gospel and gives some simple suggestions on how we can be better member missionaries. It is a quick read and is one of those books that is hard to set down once you have picked it up. This book helps you to be able to feel Heavenly Father’s love. In the introduction of the book it says, “And every time you take someone figuratively by the hand and introduce him or her to Jesus Christ, you will feel how deeply our Savior loves you and loves the person whose hand is in yours.” The strength of this book is how it uses stories and examples to show you how easy it can be to be a member missionary. The weakness of this book would have to be how short it is, I wanted more and for it to keep going!

I extra recommend this book for those who are uncomfortable interacting with people. As someone with anxiety, depression, and a general dislike of socializing, I now have tools for acting on my desire to share why I love this gospel.

I think LDS members generally have only a limited idea of what being a disciple of Christ/member missionary looks like in action. This book gave me a broader understanding of what missionary work actually is: LOOKING FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE LOOKING(!) to hear more about the Savior, and neighborly service to those who aren't. I am better enabled to understand how to relate to all walks of people in terms of their level of interest in my religion. All people are at different stages of progression--some are not ready to hear, some are disinterested, some have decided it is not for them, some are looking for it. This book gave helpful examples.

Universally though, I definitely recommend this book for any member of any church who has the smallest desire to share his or her testimony of Christ. I found many ideas for how to serve with my time and talents, and operate within my comfort zone, with ideas to spare if I find myself ready to grow its boundaries.

This is a small list of how the book has benefited me.

I took my time reading through Clayton Christensen's book and enjoyed being able to ponder some of his innovative methods for sharing the gospel. I think what I gleaned most is that missionary work should be a natural processes brought about by being good friends and good people. However, it should also stretch us beyond our comfort zones as time as we exercise faith. Anyway, a good read.

I am a skeptic by nature and sometimes Deseret Book titles seem too flowery for me; I am not the type to give a book 5 stars simply because it encourages the gospel and the gospel is awesome (I do agree that the gospel is awesome though). That said, this book is excellent and earns every bit of 5 stars.

It's extremely readable, has a very simple conversational tone, has some excellent thoughts and suggestions, and also serves as a very useful collection of case studies (which is no surprise, coming out of HBS). I'm guessing the author had a goal to share information and tips about missionary work, while simultaneously boosting readers up and even explaining some basic gospel concepts in a way we may not have heard or thought about them before. If the book works its magic, you will be on both the giving and receiving end of missionary work while you read it.

This book will leave you feeling good, but more importantly will give you some ideas you could start using tomorrow, or today. I also found that it sparked some good independent thought and ideas, both related to the topic of the book and not (I had two business ideas ideas, for instance, while reading this). The space for notes in the margins came in handy; be sure to read with a highlighter and pencil.

I'm only 80% through it, but I already decided that I'm going to buy several copies for friends and family, and that is the first for me with any book. And all this goodness for only $9, with free shipping and proceeds donated the missionary fund (and another 1% donated wherever you want it to go with the store Smile). It's a beautiful thing!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and more importantly I have put it into practice. We have many friends of other faiths and some who have no religious affiliation and a few of our friends say they do not believe in God. After reading this book we had the courage to invite our friends to our home to have dinner and meet the missionaries from our church. We invited 3 different families. The first accepted, met the missionaries, asked questions and even came to church with us. They have not decided to continue at this point but we remain good friends and we gained greater appreciation for each others beliefs. The second was my accountant and his wife. They are very active in their church and they enjoyed the dinner and meeting the missionaries. They accepted copies of the Book of Mormon and are open minded enough to read it. They have expressed interest to continue to meet with us. The final family we invited were already good friends of ours but now they are like family. They accepted our invitation and have enjoyed going to church with us. After accepting our invitation they said they have been looking for a good church for their family. They all recently decided to be baptized and are now actively involved in church. We enjoyed watching the miracle of change in them. Their marriage is stronger and happier. Their children love church and there is peace and love in their home. They are also planning on going to the temple in a year as a family. I highly recommend this book. Sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ is one of the greatest things that we can do and this book helps us understand how to do it effectively.

This is a most extraordinary book. The author uses his own experiences and that of his wife to demonstrate how he started out trying to share the gospel in a way that was unsuccessful. Then he tells how he learned to share it in ways that work. By that, I don't mean that he is always successful in helping someone onto 'the strait and narrow path', but that he does it in such a way that he does not offend or drive people away. He gives an idea of what measure of success one might reasonably expect in doing missionary work. I re-read parts of it fairly regularly and share it with others I know will be interested.

I've been thinking about many of these issues for a while now and the author addresses topics regarding sharing the gospel in a very effective way: through precept and examples/stories. I came away from reading this book with several ideas of thing I can start doing today to be a better friend, neighbor, and ultimately, missionary.

I used to cringe whenever someone brought up the topic of missionary work. I felt guilty and mostly inadequate. This book changed my hard heart and made the idea of missionary work easy...so simple that even I couldn't screw it up. I highly recommend this book to everyone.

When you have something that brings you joy and peace, that brings you closer to God, it is natural to want to share it with others. But that can be both awkward and intimidating to do. This book is an excellent guide to help you to do that in a natural, relaxed way, and in a way that is more likely to prove beneficial to the recipient.

This book is an incredible way to begin being a better member missionary, counsel that I have ignored with the excuse, "I'm too busy to do missionary work, but I'm doing everything else right, so I'm sure it's ok. I'm sure The Lord understands." Well that attitude is completely incorrect, and this book helped me have a better perspective. I already have spoken with coworkers about the church since reading this book. It feels so good!

This book deserved a careful read and I enjoyed every minute of it. Clayton's practical experiences and never-ending effort buoyed me to think differently. It caused me to dismiss the outdated thinking that missionary experiences are limited and need to be quite formal in approach. Immediately, I thought of ways to improve my personal efforts on a daily basis. A great read.

I am one who believes in being a missionary in everything I do. Not a pushy, get baptized member, but one who looks for any opportunity to explain, straighten out, clarify, or frankly just talk openly about what is most important in my life. Heck, I carve Temples into Linoleum blocks in my artwork ([...]
However, this book honestly inspires us to do a bit more. It isn't preachy. It is a practical look at how we should just be living as everyday missionaries, period.

GREAT READ! :)

It is a rare privilege to have someone of Clayton Christensen's reputation and intellect attack a practical problem like member-missionary work. As a former mission president, I am particularly impressed with the way Clay brings innovative solutions to the long-standing challenge of motivating and equipping members of the LDS Church to be effective member-missionaries. The special power of this book is Clayton and his wife, Christine, have been exemplary member missionaries for their entire adult lives, and they have also instilled a similar missionary zeal in their children. This is a must read for anyone who desires to be a more effective member missionary.

This has been one of the most insightful and powerful books I have read on a Gospel related topic (outside the scriptures of course). There are so many great principles that I have been able to apply instantly with my interactions in sharing the Gospel. I have found myself sharing and teaching the the principles of thus book with other church members. I kept expecting to have read the best stories or experiences, but every chapter thoughout the whole book was equally as powerful. Thanks Brother Christensen.

I liked how this book didn't say do this and then this; but instead focuses on examples you can use in your own life to share what you believe better with those around you in a more open way. No matter the situation, it shows how you can express yourself in a positive, loving way, even when others express complete hatred towards what you personally believe, which unfortunately happens all too often.

I truly believe every active missionary will enjoy the steps to sharing the gospel in a non-offensive way by using methods described in, "The Power of Everyday Missionaries." It's an easy read, with encouraging, uplifting advice and interesting stories.

Concise, honest, natural and simple approach to tackling the practical challenges of making the sharing our faith with others everyday a part of who we are! Very needed in a day when we might be tempted to allow our religious perspectives to be drowned out or driven from the public square. Definitely fit my expectations as to application of the principles and surpassed my expectations when it came to ease of reading and using the principles taught.

Clayton Christensen lays out an approach that anyone can follow and be successful as an everyday member missionary. The stories and examples are inspiring. Add this with a CD called The Missionary Next Door and you, and anyone you help, can be a greatly successful member missionary. You won't be disappointed and ready to read it a second and third time once you complete it.

We should all be anxiously engaged and this is a great view if how. Clear writing, positive and thought provoking. If you listened to leadership training and wonder what should I do, this provides some great guidance.

As someone who was fearful of being a "member missionary," I loved this book. I really do love to share the gospel that has brought such peace to my life, but I hate pushing it on people. This book gave me a much better understanding of how and what to share at an appropriate time. Definitely worth your time!!

Take everything you have ever learned about being a "member missionary" and then re-think it through this book.
Sometimes we know WHAT we need to do
But we just don't know HOW to do it.
Clayton Christensen helps us understand the HOW of being a member missionary through some simple techniques.
Here are just a few:

1. Do not judge who YOU think will be receptive...leave that to the Lord.
2. Use Gospel-lingo in everyday conversations...it will open up natural conversations.
3. Share the truth...it is really that simple.
4. Set goals and deadlines...it is easy to say "I'll do it tomorrow." But tomorrow never comes.
5. Become a "virtual missionary" by posting a blog or answering questions on blogs.

This book also has some AMAZING insights for EVERYONE on HOW to pray, study the scriptures and how to keep the Sabbath Day holy.
Great stories to illustrate the principles taught and a powerful testimony at the end.

I feel deeply grateful for the book, The Power of Everyday Missionaries by Clayton Christensen. In the May 2003 General Conference, Elder Henry B. Eyring commented as follows:

"A few years ago I spoke to the missionaries in the training center in Japan. I promised them then that a great day would dawn in that nation. I said that there would be a great increase in the members speaking eagerly to those they met of their testimony of the restored gospel. My thought then was that the courage to speak would come from an increased admiration for the Church in that land. I know now that the great miracle, a mighty change, will come inside the members, not in the world around them.

"They and members across the earth will love and listen and talk and testify out of changed hearts. Bishops and branch presidents will lead them by example. The harvest of souls will be great, and it will be safe in the Lord's hands."

As a three time missionary to Japan, the last two with my wife, I gained a testimony that these words by then Elder Erying were true. I arranged to have three things related to sharing the gospel previously published by Clayton Christensen translated into Japanese to share with leaders and members of the Church in Japan. They are posted on the Japan Church website. These translations have stimulated a stronger interest in sharing the gospel in Japan among members there.

Now, it appears more translation needs to be done. I have sent a copy of this new book to the Japanese leader in Japan who led the effort to make a video about members sharing the gospel. He is anxious to get the book. Perhaps not everything in the book will be exactly applicable to Japan, but I believe the principles taught are applicable.
I quote from the book's introduction: "I have spent a large portion of my life working to build the kingdom of God through missionary work---and in so doing have worked hard to understand what God told Isaiah: `For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways' (Isaiah 55:8). ..

"Many of us know people who seem to be "natural missionaries," almost as if they have an innate gift that makes sharing the gospel easy for them. My wife, Christine, and I certainly are not naturals at this. We found the work uncomfortable and intimidating at the outset, which I recognize in retrospect was because we were following many of the thoughts and ways of man."

Now I add from the Epilogue: "The choice to cobble together this book of stories from my own life and the lives of those I know well was a hard one because I have tried very hard to stay out of life's spotlight. But I adopted this approach because I wanted to describe not just what I've learned about sharing the gospel, but how I have learned, little by little, about the thoughts and ways of God."

In my opinion, this is by far the best book I have ever read about sharing the gospel. I have bought and shared several copies and will buy more in the future. The more it is read, I expect this book to make a significant difference, not only in the growth of the Church, but also in the retention of those who choose to accept and live the Gospel.
I am trying to learn and practice the principles in this book. If I love God, I must also love what He loves. And He loves His children, all of them. And if I have a testimony, I must share what I know with those I love. And to do it well, I must do it under His guidance. This book helps me much in this effort. Wade W. Fillmore

Like many busy adults, I only have snippets of time to read books or articles that do not deal with my professional obligations. However, this is a book I read front to back in one sitting. This book will make anyone who reads it a better person. For members of the LDS Church, it will help them understand the beautiful message they can share with friends and neighbors. To others courious about the LDS Church, it will help them understand the reasons that their LDS friends feel strongly about their chosen religion and why they want others to share their happiness. In his other books, Clay Christensen often uses the concept of the "job" that a person or product is supposed to accomplish. This book helps to explain the job of introducing the LDS Church to friends, relatives, work associates, and neighbors. It makes the job of doing so easier describing how to do the job and do so in a way that friends and neighbors will understand that the message offered is because someone cares deeply about them.

This is obviously written from the perspective of an active LDS member who has gotten very little feedback from non-LDS. I give him two stars because his heart is obviously in the right place but the tactics are too cult-like and stalking for a mainstream Christian religion. I know several inactive Mormons who have resigned because well-meaning Mormons wouldn't leave them alone or respect their right to choose another belief system. And a number of my non-LDS friends have de-friended Mormons on Facebook because of their constant ranting about religious topics. They found it very off-putting.

My number one suggestion for people who want to share their Mormonism with friends is to get to know more non-Mormons. If you can't see things from their perspective, all missionary efforts will fail. Especially the kind listed in this book.

This is a how to book alright. How to annoy everyone around you. People do not care what your beliefs are unless they ask you. To "share" (recruit) people who have not asked is rude. It can also be illegal in the workplace. I would haul anyone following these practices on me to HR so fast their head would pop off.

Leave me alone about the LDS, and I will leave you alone about the Lutherans.

This book encourages people to commit fraud. The readers are taught to bring encourage others to join the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, but at no point leading up to baptism will the potential new members learn what they are really committing to. At the Missionary Training Center, they used to call this policy "milk before meat" because just like a baby isn't ready for solid food, an investigator of Mormonism isn't considered ready for the "deeper doctrines".

If potential converts learned that the endowment ceremony consisted of receiving sacred underwear and learning the secret handshakes and passwords to get into the Celestial Kingdom, that the "new covenant of eternal marriage" encourages polygamy--at least in the afterlife, and that bishops routinely ask children about their masturbation habits, I doubt many of them would go through with LDS baptism.

If your looking for an effective guide to help you share your faith, this is not it. I'll save you $20... try being a genuine friend and actually living the 11th Article of Faith as you profess you do. Have no agenda, and respect peoples' boundaries. There's a reason why as a general rule, people don't respect Mormons. It's because they come across as a "cult-like" organization. People can see right through the thinly-veiled attempts by members to coerce or manipulate them into joining the LDS Church. They say it's about family, it's not. It's really about the money, and people know it.

One of the first rules is don't judge who will be accepting of your message.

They're kidding right? If i've told you to get lost, resigned from your church, told you to get lost 5 more times, ignored you when you're ringing me door bell, put a sign on my door telling you to get lost, blocked you from my computer, and changed my phone #, you're not going to use your judgement to stay away from me?

That leaves me with filing a police report for stalking, and getting a restraining order. I would suggest you use your judgement.

Oh, and just so you know....if I want to hear your testimony i'll go to testimony meeting. However, i'm not interested in hearing your testimony about your dedication to a corporation that is deceiving you and coercing you to give them money. I'm not interested in how much you love giving them money to build malls and hunting reserves. You did know that's what they're doing with your money right? I'm not interested in hearing your undying testimony of how you'll stick with this scam and be sure to remove your childrens choices by indoctrinating them into this scam.

If you want to really know what I know about your church, I would suggest you read this:

I really enjoy this book. The author writes from a good perspective and has a lot of valuable experience. Most of all, he has suggestions that are doable, and helps members see very natural ways of sharing the Gospel with those they know and love and also with people they are just acquaintances with. I highly recommend this for those who want to be better member missionaries, but aren't sure how to go about it.
